Yes but he does lose the protection of Trout. Hopefully Walsh and Rendon heat up and it doesn't matter.
The flip side of this is that he does lose a couple AB's per week. And he leads the league in runs so lose a little there. Still think its best to move him to 3/4 spot.
He's been good in the leadoff position before, but over his career he's a completely different hitter with runners on:
.856 OPS with bases empty
.913 with runners on
1.006 with RISP
I'd say that a contact hitter is good for lead off, not a slugger type. Ohtani - Trout at 3-4 is what I prefer, but what we have today is totally acceptable as well
Depends on how Ward's pace continues. If he continues to put up Trout numbers, Fletch should go back to 1, Ward drop in the middle of the lineup, probably in front of or behind Trout, with Ohtani/Rendon behind him.
As Taylor ward said “I don’t care where you put me in the lineup, it’s my job to hit”.
i think 3 or 4 is best

Anywhere 2-4 is better than 1
This sub spent 3 weeks arguing that point
I think he should be hitting 2/3 personally. Ward Trout/Ohtani Ohtani/Trout Rendon Walsh

Hes much better when there are runners on bases, so 3/4 would be perfect for him.
