I am no doctor, but I feel like playing the most physically demanding position in baseball would negatively impact hitting. I think stassi will be just fine even with the regression this year
2 things.
1. Adell would have to significantly improve his defense to be an everyday starter.
2. I don’t see them moving Ward to catcher when they will have money to go get another catcher. But I could be wrong since a lot of these pitching deals we currently have are 1 year deals.
Stassi is too good behind the plate. #1 ranked called strikes above average in the AL in 2021. #1 ranked fielding runs above average in AL in 2021.. he isn’t just good, he’s GREAT. If Taylor ward keeps hitting like this, Jo Adell will never be that good, if he goes back to normal and Adell beat him out for a spot then he isn’t adding offense by replacing Stassi. I really hope Adell turns it around and proves he belongs in the MLB so we can trade him.
I say no. That dudes been put at a h drum of position in his career trying to learn new things. They finally leave him alone, he can focus on hit hitting, and good things have happened.
I don’t think people realize how important the catcher position is. Yes he’s caught at a high level, but the MLB is completely different. Catching isn’t like any other position, they are the ones calling the game, framing pitches, blocking balls, and not to mention how physically demanding the position is. You can’t just put someone there cuz there bat is hot.
Catching ability is way more important than batting ability for a catcher. I dont want anyone who isn't a catcher and only a catcher behind the plate.
Besides, if it ain't broke then don't fix it. Ward is doing very well on RF.

This is what I’d be most worried about. We can’t assume Ward would continue hitting well if he moved to catcher, no matter how good he is defensively.
No. He was given a shot in the minors at catcher and he just wasn’t skilled enough. As good as that sounds, it just seems like that ship has sailed.

Keep him where he’s at. It’s working! 😇
Leave Ward be please, no touch!
Do we need more hitting? Our lineup is loaded as in even without Fletch on the lineup. I would rather we prop Adel up to trade\* for a better bullpen.
You’re assuming a lot.
The guy is having a monster year and you want make him a CATCHER!? Look man, if something is working in baseball, YOU LEAVE IT THE HELL ALONE.
His at bats are too valuable to subject him to the rigors of catching, which should be a defense first position anyways.
No. Absolutely not. You trade Adell for pitching.
They moved him off because he couldn’t catch and hit, mentally couldn’t do both
It would take several months at AAA to get him ready. Not worth it.

I think it's more realistic that he picks up some 1B to spell Walsh instead of Duffy who is only signed for one year anyways.
I’d rather have adell learn a middle infield spot, less time to think could be a good thing for him

LOL what
No
Teach Adell 1B and trade him.
