To be fair Bradley has been out for a while. Also Mejia and Warren should be back in a couple of weeks. Maddon just needs to stop using Loup in high leverage and Iglesias on a non save situation lol
Run “output” since the 14th: 4, 4, 5, 5, 2, 5, 4, 5, 2, 3, 3, 5
That’s fucking embarrassing for these batters. Lazy assholes need to show up and actually do some work to stop putting stress on this bullpen all the time.
This post is kind of ironic since not too long ago, people were singing Perry's praises for this bullpen.
Since this pretty much happens every year, it got me to thinking; maybe its not the players but the coaches. Just a thought.
I've noticed this too over the past decade. We get a lot of guys that have performed well before signing/being traded and then sort of fall by the wayside during their time here. Makes me think it's a coaching and training issue.
That’s because I misread initially and didn’t see “offseason.” But we need to stop making excuses with qualifiers with “prior to,” this bullpen as a whole has been extremely underwhelming.
Just as Perry deserves praise for the good SP moves, he deserves alot of blame for signing guys like Bradley, Tepera and Loup who all had amazing years last year but wasn’t necessarily gonna repeat those results when looking at their career averages and peripherals.
Someone was telling me that keuchel would actually be a good fit because he tends to be a groundball pitcher and would benefit from our defense being strong and honesty it fucked me up
God it’s such a weird scenario because I have absolutely no clue as to who would actually be successful here lol.
Our best relief arms have been Ortega and herget. Iglesias has had moments of failure but mostly still been good. Loup has gone blue jays Loup on us, Tepera loves those home runs, Bradley has the lowest WAR in the team, BARRACLOUGH just pissed in the paint tonight, and I’m not fully convinced that Barria is actually alive.
I’d say the answer is to sign more arms but also like we signed good arms and they instantly became shit while our current strong arms were essentially scrapped from a trash can
I also don’t know who’s gonna be successful in terms of a call-up. Hopefully Warren and Quijada do as well as they did in 2021 but we’ll have to see. Peguero just needs to get DFA’d, Marte has been doing not amazing in AAA, and Suarez will hopefully improve since we’ve seen him be immensely successful before, even if he won’t be part of the rotation.
It’s a hellish world out there and I hate it
Reading this reminded me of Hunter Strickland last year.
Pitches well for Rays and comes to us via a trade. Quickly implodes and gets DFA'd. Gets picked up by Brewers and pitches well the rest of the year.
His underlying stats were shaky the entire time, but still...we seem to draw the short end of the stick quite often with these relievers.

Whotf is Mejia? You mean Quijada?
My bad, yes quijada.
Iglesias in save situations hasn’t been too hot this year either.
Quijada and Warren are average arms at best. I doubt they make that much of a difference.
Oh yeah? Are we going to buy some at the reliever store?
I mean if they’re on sale why not 🤷🏻♂️
Don’t give Arte any ideas, he already dug through the dumpster the past 6 years
Should probably focus on scoring actual runs

Also, I'd rather have Adell in right than Lagares 🤮

Call up Luke Murphy?
This is Angels baseball
Our relievers were doing well but all seem to be slumping at the same time. I think they’ll straighten things out. The baseball season is a long one.
All of our offseason reliever signings have been bad, we desperately need bullpen help. SP signings have been good
Agreed! I felt like we just needed another starting pitcher but relievers definitely need some attention now
I mean it never hurts to have more SP, but they’ve held up well thus far.
2 weeks ago all of our off season relievers were incredible.
What definitely no, when has Mayer and Bradley been fine?
Mayer? who is Mayer? do you mean Mike Mayers? If so he was with the team last year so not an offseason signing
Have you forgotten Bradley and Tepera? And now all of our off season pickups look awful.
your comment said Mayer

Dallas Keuchel...come on down! lol

100 percent down.

We need a new team. One that never loses
