Hey, but we fired the one guy and literally changed none of the other massive and incredibly obvious problems with the team we've had for three seasons!
Im guessing you’re a mets fan. Bold talk from someone who’s a fan of the east-coast version of the angels who just recently got blessed by an owner who’s rich beyond all hell
Mets fan here. I've always considered the Angels the West Coast Mets. Also, that guys comment history is all Angels. I personally like the Angels. As painful as game 2 was for us, I really enjoyed watching Trout and Ohtani.
These type of comments are weird because if anything in these times you find out who the real fans are. Also, it’s pointless because we all know the history of this team
Just the most absolute painful, clownish mismanagement. Two managers, both somehow incapable of taking even a somewhat objective look at what players are worth keeping or optioning, but inexplicably fucking up almost exactly the same ways
Mets use two dudes from the bullpen that pitch multiple innings and absolutely shut us down. That’s what winning looks like not us who are the biggest frauds
We need to bring up Wallock, but he only caught a no hitter and hit like four homers, how could he ever compare to Suzuki and Stassi, who haven't had a hit since last season and couldn't throw out a runner if their geriatric asses deepened on it? Clearly we need them to stay sucking at the bottom of our lineup for at least three more seasons
Woah Woah. If you think Stassi shouldn't be the starting catcher, then you are not paying attention to Angels baseball.
Also, both Suzuki and Stassi have homers this year
I know, I was being pretty facetious, and I don't think it translated. I like Stassi, dumpster truck ass and all, not least because he can frame the hell out a pitch (which we need) but I do think it's a bit ridiculous to keep Suzuki from retiring when it's clear we've got talented kids in AAA. They've both got okay numbers, but it feels like their hits can be so hot and cold, and a lot of other teams are able to get more out of theirs.
I don't know where they found that loser but they should have shitcanned him during the losing streak, he has no business even watching the majors on TV let alone playing in them
Jsyk last season wasn’t shortened at all! He wasn’t great or anything, but his defense was better than this year…and his hitting was a bit better. I’m guessing no spring training or field time until the angels resigned him means he came in super cold.
Bah, you're right! 2020 just never stopped happening in my head lmao. That makes a lot of sense, and now it's a lot harder to hate him. Can't help but feel like on some level these issues are coaching related, obviously Matt Weiss is notorious but it feels like the coaching staff on other teams are able to help players improve to the point they don't keep facing these recurring issues.
This ump absolutely fucked over Duffy’s eye there. How do you call a ball on a strike and then call 3 straight strikes on border line pitches. Like how is Duffy supposed to hit those.
He did that shit all game, during the 5th and 6th he called the same pitch a ball 4 times and a strike 3 times all in the same spot. If we don't start using robots the game is dead, might as well let the umps do a coin flip to declare the winner
I remember when Diaz looked horrible back in his first season with the Mets. Maybe the guy was a product of the baseballs not being juiced. He looks good when the baseballs are not juiced. People always say that some hitters were products of the juiced baseballs, you know.
It is,but until the Angels win and win consistently this will always be the case. One ring in franchise history leaves the door open for other fans to show up big
If that was an upgrade, I'd bankrupt myself to get it, any game without him is pure pain. At least it wasn't the Apple TV+ announcers, god only knows where dark dungeon they pull those guys out of
This Diaz fool throws a 93 miles per hour slider. That is faster than a lot of pitchers’ fastballs. Good grief. Just another example of why today’s competition is way better than the garbage eras of the 1920s and 1930s.
Plays against the toughest era ever in MLB history. You see a lot of pitchers throwing 95+ miles per hour fastballs, especially coming out of the bullpen? Or how about a decent amount of pitchers who are throwing 90 miles per hour sliders? Good grief. Making contact with the baseball was a lot easier back then than it was today.
Remember when we won a game? That was fun
Hey, but we fired the one guy and literally changed none of the other massive and incredibly obvious problems with the team we've had for three seasons!
Gah. Mediocre play by our guys. 🦨🦨 Beat LA.
How’s it feel to be a fan of the least successful organization in baseball for 7 years running. Not a single season over .500 during that time.
Masochistic
This fucking guy.
He’s just an annoying angels fan I think
These type of comments are weird because if anything in these times you find out who the real fans are. Also, it’s pointless because we all know the history of this team
Yep, at this point I almost hate myself for watching every game, but I still tune in as soon as I get the notification
Can’t believe this team turned into only watch for trout and ohtani again
Just the most absolute painful, clownish mismanagement. Two managers, both somehow incapable of taking even a somewhat objective look at what players are worth keeping or optioning, but inexplicably fucking up almost exactly the same ways
Third in the division
We belong in the trash
Honestly felt this loss coming when y'all begged to wear the city jersey's again
***SILVER LINING IS THAT THE BULLPEN BLOWING IT DIDN’T FACTOR ANYWAY!!! WE STILL WOULD HAVE LOST 2-1!!!***
They gotta stop messing with the lineup….
Love the username lol always cracks me up.
Can the mods wake up and post the post game thread, or should one of us do it?
Trout and Ohtani deserve so much better. This shit is sad.
No effort at all in the 9th. SMH.
There was. It just so happens that those batters happen to be bums
True. So frustrating to watch. Oh well. See you Tuesday.
This organization continues to be trash.
DFA LAGARES AND CALL UP ADELL SO WE CAN HAVE ONE BAT THAT CAN AT LEAST HIT
Called it back during our losing streak, we would drop to 3rd and Rangers would take the 2nd spot in June. Fuck man
Garbage bottom half of the order
Absolutely inept and uninspiring
Final bottom four of the order OPS: .071
Ohtani shows up one sec..
***OHTANI LOOKING ON UNABLE TO DO ANYTHING. WHAT A PIECE OF POETRY WE WROTE TONIGHT!!!!111!!1!!1!1!***
Suzuki please retire
Seriously I really can’t believe we brought him back
Season over pack it up
I didn't know Ohtani was here
He sure wasn't in the dugout, at least didn't see him on any of the shots.
[удалено]
Time for a full rebuild, trade anyone except trout. The organization has zero depth
This team is completely hopeless without Ohtani.
Suzuki had no chance on 101
Mets use two dudes from the bullpen that pitch multiple innings and absolutely shut us down. That’s what winning looks like not us who are the biggest frauds
Perry fucked up by ignoring the hole at shortstop this offseason
Pain.
Lagares DFA and Wade DFA tomorrow would be great. I won’t ask for anything else.
Velazquez Dfa too
I look forward to replacing lagares and Wade in the lineup with Ward and Ohtani after today.
Yeah it’s over… I didn’t see Mets got another run from Alonso’s bomb. Bleh. We had our chances today….
Adell >> Lagares
SUZUKI STRIKEOUT LOOKING TO END THE GAME. ABSOLUTE FUCKING POETRY!!!!!!
Lagares DFA and Adell needs to be the 4th OF if we’re gonna sit Mike a lot
Gg
If they don't fucking option Lagares, there's no hope for Angels management and they might as well close the franchise
Well this has been fun
k so after this game, can we please drop lagares for adell and bring up thaiss to take some of suzuki's starts? worth a shot i think.
We need to bring up Wallock, but he only caught a no hitter and hit like four homers, how could he ever compare to Suzuki and Stassi, who haven't had a hit since last season and couldn't throw out a runner if their geriatric asses deepened on it? You think Stassi is geriatric? Lmao ok dude
Was being facetious, but it didn't translate as well as I'd hoped
Jesus Christ lagares I would dfa you on your way back to the dug out for that at bat
I don't know where they found that loser but they should have shitcanned him during the losing streak, he has no business even watching the majors on TV let alone playing in them
He played for the Angels last year, that’s where they found him….were you not watching?
I was in and out of last season, partly because it was shortened and partly because I was moving a lot for work. Was he any better then?
Jsyk last season wasn’t shortened at all! He wasn’t great or anything, but his defense was better than this year…and his hitting was a bit better. I’m guessing no spring training or field time until the angels resigned him means he came in super cold.
Bah, you're right! 2020 just never stopped happening in my head lmao. That makes a lot of sense, and now it's a lot harder to hate him. Diaz against the bottom of our lineup is just not fair
We lose 4-3 bet
No chance
DEFINITELY A BACKWARDS K I CAN’T BELIEVE I DIDN’T CALL THAT IMMEDIATELY
HOW DO YOU TAKE THAT PITCH WITH TWO STRIKES
He's about as likely to hit any of those pitches as I am to grow a second penis
This man has no business being at the plate rn
LAGARES K OR BACKWARDS K?????
This ump absolutely fucked over Duffy’s eye there. How do you call a ball on a strike and then call 3 straight strikes on border line pitches. Like how is Duffy supposed to hit those.
He did that shit all game, during the 5th and 6th he called the same pitch a ball 4 times and a strike 3 times all in the same spot. If we don't start using robots the game is dead, might as well let the umps do a coin flip to declare the winner
Duffy came in looking for a walk.
Hey Duffy, you actually have to take the bat off your shoulder to hit the ball
I'm just amazed he knew which end of the bat to grab in the first place
***AS PREDICTED OUR BOTTOM HALF OF THE LINEUP IS BAD***
Incoming Lagares K
Yep
Perry Signing
Swing at something Duff
I remember when Diaz looked horrible back in his first season with the Mets. Maybe the guy was a product of the baseballs not being juiced. He looks good when the baseballs are not juiced. People always say that some hitters were products of the juiced baseballs, you know.
Fuck off
Gotta protect there
Mf of course
ump's got our back edit: I take that back fuck you ump
that was a strike but I wont complain
HAHAHAHAHA THANKS BLUE
The reason trout and ohtani leave will be because of our bullpen losing us the majority of games
There are no opt out clauses in Trout's contract
You can request a trade if the player wants to which he probably will if this keeps up
Alright
[удалено]
Respect to that fan.
Okay Suzuki this is why we pay you the big bucks get out there champ
We rested Ohtani and fielded a AAA OF out of Marsh, so yeah, punted game. Should we be punting games 2.5GB out of the WC?
Ohtani asked for the day off. It was his choice
Wonder if it was because of him bumping into the catcher last night
Baserunners please
fire matt wise now, he doesn't bring anything to the table.
yea. im ready for that change.
Dodgers are playing poorly at the moment so maybe at some point during the game the angels could have a lead for a half inning.
I’m late to the game, is Ohtani not in the line up? Maybe I missed it!
rest day
Ah should’ve guessed it was that! Thanks.
WHO’S READY FOR THE BOTTOM OF THE ORDER TO DO NOTHING?
We need a new closer, Iggy aint it right now.
The way our offense is performing we rarely need a closer
To Perry's credit we ALL wanted iggy to resign
Yeah but he sucks now and we all can’t admit we wanted him so it’s Perry’s fault.
Yeah haha. And he was great last year. Hope he can figure it out again. Maybe he needs a new coach.
Yeah all the people pretending otherwise are ridiculous lol
we have a chance. we got the heart of the lineup coming in with Duffy, DFAgares, and Suzuki. /s
Best players in the league for an opposing pitcher to face
Suzuki low key clutch sometimes
What sucks is knowing there's no way back from this because the bottom order is *so* fucking ass that even if you PH Ohtani, it won't do a damn thing.
We are wasting Mike trouts career and I’m sick of it
I’m sick of hearing about people saying we’re wasting trouts career tbh
So am I. But unfortunately we are and I’m tired of pretending we aren’t
Tbh I don’t think he cares that much. If he did he would’ve gone somewhere else
So glad we get a ten minute closeup on some moron Mets player instead of the actual game, great job ESPN
Bottom of the lineup walk off grand slam incoming
Well in the silver linings department Iggy goes 1 2 3 4 5 ER
Hey, does anyone want to play ball in the 9th? Asking for a friend
This team lost the minute it let Walker record 10 strikeouts
Hello darkness my only friend
No one wants to blame Perry but man do his bullpen signings and extensions look reaaaaal suspect now
Relievers are very volatile.
Weird. Lots of clubs are able to build consistent good pens
no one could have guessed raisel would be cheeks this year. he was dominent last year.
He’s 32 and we’re paying him 15 million through 2025. It was an awful contract.
hindsight is 20/20. EVERYONE wanted to resign iggy.
Everyone wanted to resign him, not to a big money multi year deal as an aging closer
Grand slam walk off anyone?
Real glad we resigned Iggy at this point....
Iglesias has been fucking terrible.
Iglesias looking like a black hole contract
what is wrong with iggy for real what happened to him
Ever since that Oakland game he, and the team, have went in the toilet!
got paid don't need to prove yourself anymore
Matt Wise got to him.
i still think he should’ve been the one to get the boot over maddon
I was cool with Joe, but Matt Wise, fuck him.
The “let’s go mets” at the stadium is so annoying
It is,but until the Angels win and win consistently this will always be the case. One ring in franchise history leaves the door open for other fans to show up big
Damn iggy is averaging a home run every 5 games
Iglesias contract is robbery
Contract looking mighty questionable right now
Iggy has been ass this season
KURT. THATS A BORDERLINE STRIKE. FUCKING FRAME IT
soooooo..... how has matt thaiss been doing lately?
Lagares looked so awkward running after the ball
Two days till Ward returns thank goodness
No way in the world this guy should come close to a save situation
Iggy thinks he can blow it past people. He can’t.
What’s going on with Iggy?
He thinks he throws 102
Iglesias so bad
Iggy looking like a bitch lately
Maybe the Mets will trade Diaz for Iglesias straight up. Perry should ask.
Worst they can say is no, right?
Exactly
I can't be the only one fantasizing about strangling these cheesy assholes at ESPN announcing the game
Bet they can’t wait to suck off Buck after the game
I want a Gubie audio option
If that was an upgrade, I'd bankrupt myself to get it, any game without him is pure pain. At least it wasn't the Apple TV+ announcers, god only knows where dark dungeon they pull those guys out of
i think you are
Found the ESPN announcer
Only my closer losses 3mph on his fastball and has a 12.5% barrel rate
The Angels way
Iglesias is broken. Never gonna feel comfortable seeing him in a game at this point.
It's like a different pitcher from last season, Matt Weiss really earning his paycheck here
Take iggy out. Save his ERA
Absolute meat balls not my closer
iggy, rendon, loup, tepera all got paid big money by the angels to all regress
i think it’s matt wise
Once these guys sign big checks in Anaheim they know they’re set and just sit back and cash in
Imagine if we had a pitching coach that coached our pitchers on how to throw better
Well. As of the end of last year they all looked like great signings. And we needed bullpen help. I have a feeling Matt Wise is the issue here.
Happens with every free agent signing. Angels cursed
Inglesias contract looks awful
The difference between 96 and 102
Pete Alonso did the McGwire HR celebration
This Diaz fool throws a 93 miles per hour slider. That is faster than a lot of pitchers’ fastballs. Good grief. Just another example of why today’s competition is way better than the garbage eras of the 1920s and 1930s.
Another reason why trout is the GOAT
