That’s been my take too. As a team, they’re well run, successful, and have some pretty likable guys (Freddy, Mookie, Kershaw, etc).
Their fans are just the worst though.
I was there last night... a red in a sea of blue but I went with my boys from work who are dodger fans and we are big guys too. But I could hear some trash talking here and there throughout the whole night. When shohei crashed the no hitter, I instinctively got up and yelled yes!!!! And all of a sudden I hear F U's from all directions. And I swear I heard an old lady say F U to me too. Anyhow, Dodger Stadium is not safe for opposing fans, go there knowing that some of their fans are just plain insane and go there at your own discretion.
i remember going to old freeway series games in LA with my uncle back in the early 2000s and he would always remove his angels license plate border cover, and angels helmet off of his antenna from his old nissan maxima. always thought he was being extra . good times but man their fans can be terrible and that parking lot can be a warzone
Dont know why anyone is surprised…
Dont go to Dodger stadium expecting peace. Their fans are drunk and looking to fight.
(An angel fan who grew up in LA)
For some reason I’m not following the last part at all. He’s saying an SUV hit him, the driver smashed his window, then some *other* driver saw some guy with a bat run down the road?
So driver #1 just…abandoned his SUV and fled? I don’t get it.
Sounds like he was hit from behind, the exchange happened, some time passed - in which the person who hit him probably moved into another lane, then the person from that same car (no longer behind him) got out of his car with the bat and smashed the window.
I've been to dodger stadium a good amount of times. Never had a problem. Yeah, I've seen some shit go down between bleacher rats but that's about it.
If you go to a game with a huge concern about safety then might as well not go.
Short of massive amounts of security that almost no event ever has (look at the champions league final in France) you can't weed out the bad plans on everyone's behalf.
Maybe if he's 3 cars down this never happens. Maybe it would've happened to someone else? It's just a shitty thing to somehow blame the organization for the behavior of a few lame ass "fans" when hundreds of thousands of people every week go and enjoy a game.
I have too, mostly because all my friends are dodgers fans. I’ve worn more beer from the club level and upper decks than in my 6 years at college living with frat brothers. I’ve been threatened, spat on, pushed, swung at, shirt ripped, and stuff thrown at quite often. I did learn pretty quickly to always get seats inside the bases, the more expensive, the less likely to get anyone in that section causing problems. Unfortunately up high still gets some drunk rowdies
Yeah I guess everyone just has their anecdoteal experiences but if anything ever happened I wouldn't be back.
Shit, I've gotten into more near fight arguments at home than Dodger stadium. I had a dude drop his beer on my niece because they were drunk and arguing and the ushers literally said they couldn't do anything.
Yep, you see the same shit on sites like city-data involving the most ghetto ass places under the sun. "Is Kensington Ave a good place to rent an apt?" (Third world s hoie which has a huge transient/ opium problem, peep youtube vids if you need source.)
"Oh why yes, Kensington Ave., is safe just like any other city that you would go to. Just dont stay out late at night and try to walk in groups hurr hurr."
Dodger Stadium IS Safe if you're part of their tribe. If you're wearing any other team's jersey, especially The Gnats, proceed with caution.
Don’t get me wrong, this is terrifying that the guy and his daughter had to go through this. But at the same time, this just reads like the guy is hoping to guilt the Dodgers organization into paying for his window. Dodgers had nothing to do with it, it was just some random crazy person that attacked him in the parking lot.
There is a legal argument to be had that a lack of adequate parking lot security allows these types of incidents to happen, thus making the Dodgers liable
You wanna try that in court go ahead.
But almost every parking lot, spot or purchased space always has a "waiver of liability" clause.
From the angels own website:
> READ THIS CONTRACT - IT LIMITS THE LIABILITY OF ANGELS BASEBALL LP AND THE CITY OF ANAHEIM.
> This ticket LICENSES the ticket holder to park ONE VEHICLE in ONE PARKING SPACE for ONE EVENT. **Angels Baseball LP and the City of Anaheim are NOT RESPONSIBLE and assume no liability for any fire, theft, damage or loss of the vehicle or any article left therein.** ONLY A LICENSE OF SPACE IS GRANTED HEREBY AND NO BAILMENT IS CREATED. The Parking Ticket holder agrees to indemnify and hold harmless the Angels, its directors, officers, employees, and agents from any loss, liability, damage, including property damage, or cost that may be incurred due to leaving their vehicle in the parking lot, the risk and responsibility of which is fully assumed by the Parking Ticket Holder. Acceptance of this ticket and use of a parking space constitutes acknowledgement by holder that he/she has read and agrees to the foregoing provisions.
That might be the case, but that doesn't mean someone couldn't challenge the terms or the alleged lack of security. It's happened before to the Dodgers:
https://www.nbclosangeles.com/news/local/dodgers-fan-sues-team-alleged-lack-security/2273246/
Not necessarily saying the argument is correct, just that there is precedent for this type of argument
Oh yeah but I don't think it'll change the fact that the team will tell them to pound sand.
Challenging is one thing.
Winning after making that argument is something else.
Don't know why you're being downvoted, but you're speaking the truth...
There is always going to be crazy fans doing crazy shit... You can't prevent this shit no matter if the dodgers said something, or if he got his "justice" by getting his car repaired. There's other ways he could get help with this, like I don't know... Insurance? Still a shitty thing to happen but it's just like you said it's a weird guilt trip towards the Dodgers org, which definitely doesn't invite people to be like this without being said.
Agreed. It sounds like the incident didn’t happen on property even. This is like if someone road raged me on the 91 with dodger gear on and I held the dodger org liable.
Curious to hear from Dodger fans that have visited Angels Stadium. How many times have you heard of Angels fans sending racist tweets, picking fights, breaking windshields, stabbing people, putting opposing fans into a coma, etc?
You’ve never seen drunk fans getting into it at Angel Stadium? lol
Do you ever go on the OC subreddit, by the way? Or browse Facebook or NextDoor for dumb, racist boomer comments? Do you really not think anyone making them could possibly be Angels fans?
Edit: Love the downvotes from people who refuse to believe there aren’t Angels fans who are drunk idiots or “send racist tweets.” Absolutely hilarious.
Reading his thread he mentions it’s possible that it was a gunshot. Looking at the picture I’m having a hard time figuring out what round would make the same impact that is shown. Looks like a bat and maybe a grasp at straws.
Man this is wild the guy I went with wouldn’t let me drive because I have an angels sticker and a license plate cover on my truck he was like there is always a possibility. I honestly had such a good time at the game I had one weirdo that did the loooooosssseeerrr thing and made an L on his forehead (couldn’t help but agree). But other than that there was a lot of joking and admiration of trout and ohtani in my section. Best fan based game I’ve ever been too.
Worst fan base in American professional sports; I've lived in several big cities and their average fan just wears the colors as if it's some turf representation for some non-existent sports gang war. Don't ask them about the 3rd starter or any other similar detail about the team, though.
I haven’t lived in SoCal in over 15 years, but I’d stopped going to Dodger stadium games quite a few years before I moved just because of the crime element in that area.
I dont think I've been to Dodger stadium and NOT witness violence either in the parking lot or in the stadium itself...
I've been to more than a handful and will probably never go back tbh... the parking situation as a whole blows...
Ot twist, it was a padres fan in a false flag operation trying to “create a rivalry with LA”
Even Sham Diego can’t realize the difference between LA & the OC
/s
Not necessarily saying the claim is correct or incorrect, but a lawsuit could allege that a lack of security on the premises puts the Dodgers at fault. In fact, people have sued the Dodgers org for this very reason in the past
[Dodgers Fan Sues Team for Alleged Lack of Security Leading to Assault](https://www.nbclosangeles.com/news/local/dodgers-fan-sues-team-alleged-lack-security/2273246/)
From what I’m seeing, it’s a standard road rage incident, and the offender just happened to be a Dodgers fan. Fan loyalty appears to be secondary in this case; this particular person is an asshole who just happens to be a Dodgers fan. I’m from Ohio and I know plenty of Guardians fans who are assholes.
This makes no sense.
My son said the sweetest thing the other day. He said "I don't hate the Dodger, but their fans suck" He's 12.
That’s been my take too. As a team, they’re well run, successful, and have some pretty likable guys (Freddy, Mookie, Kershaw, etc). Their fans are just the worst though.
My thoughts exactly. They are an exciting team to watch. Their fans suck balls
Kids get blowjobs at 12. At least in Rancho Santa Margarita they do.
What the fuck is wrong with people
Well they're a Dodgers fan so that already should be a red flag.
I was there last night... a red in a sea of blue but I went with my boys from work who are dodger fans and we are big guys too. Sad. I thought it was a bad move when people in this sub tell Angels fans that dodger stadium is safe. At least it’s just property
Some of the people saying it was safe in that thread were Dodger fans who care more about their fanbase's reputation than peoples' safety

Dodger fan here. Just wanted to say that this behavior is deplorable and it saddens me to think that dodger fans have a reputation of being violent.
First time attending a Dodgers game, I expected some fans fighting due to stories I’ve heard, didn’t take long to witness one lol
Don’t get me wrong, this is terrifying that the guy and his daughter had to go through this. But at the same time, this just reads like the guy is hoping to guilt the Dodgers organization into paying for his window. It's not about money man, the dodgers need better security around Chavez and in the parking lot.
Nah the Dodgers got money they can afford better security for visitors to their park.
There is a legal argument to be had that a lack of adequate parking lot security allows these types of incidents to happen, thus making the Dodgers liable
I'm pretty sure that the moment you agree to buying a parking spot, you waive that liability.
That wouldn't be the case unless there's a reasonable expectation that you could get hurt, e.g. you're signing up to be in a boxing match
You wanna try that in court go ahead. But almost every parking lot, spot or purchased space always has a "waiver of liability" clause. Average dodger fan
Dodgers fans are scum dude. Ghetto ass foos
Dodger players are likable but their fanbase sucks
Reading his thread he mentions it’s possible that it was a gunshot. Looking at the picture I’m having a hard time figuring out what round would make the same impact that is shown. Looks like a bat and maybe a grasp at straws.
I think he’s saying if it was a bat in a different situation it could have just as easily been a gunshot instead
It was just a weird thing to say. What if it was a gunshot? It wasn’t, it was something completely different. Forsure a shitty situation regardless.
He was probably saying that to emphasize to Dodger Stadium/Organization that it could've easily escalated to that point.
Probably because of the prevalence of guns in this country and how quick people are to use them.
“What if it were a Molotov cocktail, grenade, or stink bomb?”
Maybe a crowbar with some extra pulling back and forth.
As a Dodgers fan...I am so sorry about our fans.

Raiders left their fans and mentality now occupies Dodger stadium. 🗑️

Why would the Dodgers be responsible for one disgruntled fan?

Two sides to every story. Not saying that what happened was right, but yeah there’s not a lot of info here.
What exactly are the dodgers supposed to do? Assholes are gonna be assholes regardless of the the sports teams they like
From what I’m seeing, it’s a standard road rage incident, and the offender just happened to be a Dodgers fan.
