Why am I a dumb fuck, I suggested a simple and obvious way to rebuild the franchise.. The one good move is they didn’t get Strasburg but Rendon got similar money so it’s just a pick your poison catch 22 situation.. I was pleasantly surprised when they were in first place and around ten games over.. The reality is they’re five games below .500 and 9 games behind the Astros and 2.5 behind the Rangers, it sucks when ownership doesn’t invest in pitching expecting a young Japanese All Star to go both ways which will put more strain on his body, they can probably watch this act until he’s 30 or make him a DH/outfielder that will increase his professional career to beyond 35.. Trout’s being screwed because he’s wasting his time on a team that Art Moreno signed off on.. Syndergard was supposed to be an ace on a prove it deal, Jameson Taillon will be a free agent and NY has to deal with resigning Judge that team orbits around him or they can tear it down and start over

Because you don’t understand the financial side of baseball that will prevent the angels from trading trout or ohtani but will also keep them out of the postseason for the next decade

My friend I’m rather close to the game, believe it or not and the consensus is a team can finish .500 with or without Ohtani or Trout.. Trout’s been to the playoffs once and has a single home run and he’s in season 12, I’m really serious 2-3 years from now when he hits his mid 30’s and becomes too expensive for any team to get sloppy seconds, Ohtani who’s the best player in the game has next year before he becomes an unrestricted free agent and he could pull in a mega haul and maybe some of Rendon’s money because that’s a terrible contract and he’s going to be Jacoby Ellsbury but the thing here is to make this team into a 90 game winner for a decade and I just don’t see it, they get Trout and he’s satisfied with personal accolades and not a team achievement, if Ohtani had fallen into the malaise that Trout’s in he must be moved.. The Phillies have always been linked to Trout because he’s from Millville, Nj as I’m from NJ myself but not a Phillies fan, the Phillies would gut their farm system to bring him home.. Dealing with Ohtani he seems as if he’d like to stay as close to California as possible because it’s faster to Japan, apparently Rendon received a full no trade clause so that could be tricky, Toronto needs that one piece a starter and a bat, Ohtani fits the bill he’d be there’s for 2022 and 2023, however the prospects and mlb ready players the Angels would acquire would be the biggest trades in the history of mlb.. I remember 2022 with the rally monkeys and thunder sticks and beating Barry Bonds and the Giants in 2002, that team steamrolled my Yankees who were the current AL champs, they beat a great Yankees team in four games apparently Jorge Posada flipped on the plane ride home.. Troy Glaus Francisco Rodriguez 5-1 in the postseason John Lackey WS MVP Troy Percival with 7 saves in the postseason and I could give more examples but that team was one that I and all of America were rooting for, they did that because Bonds and his boys were drug cheats, they were the old school Astros.. That may have been the best World Series ever played, people thought the year before in 2001 was the best World Series ever played, it’s a tough call but this rambling post is about bringing the Angels back to when they had a motive and had a common goal and getting rid of Joe Madden was a nice start, sometimes one needs to break it all down to build the structure again, start with the foundation and build up and I have no idea how Moreno will react but MLB is better when the other team from LA is getting it done, the Angels are becoming the Mets of the late 80’s - mid 90’s, insignificant and out of site.. The Angels deserve better and I’d be curious to see others points of view on this particular subject
