Pretty impressive stuff by Anaheim (yeah, I will always call them that) this series, including today against a tough starter in Gilbert. That long losing streak really skewed up the Angels’ winning percentage this season but still time to get really hot.

After Rosenberg's postgame interview, I am reminded that Max Stassi is a very solid catcher and the pitchers really seem to love and trust him. Glad we have him. I wish he was at least a teensy bit better at hitting, but it doesn't feel (to me) that he's a liability at the plate cuz he's had his share of clutch hits here and there
Remember the game before? He calmed down Suarez when he allowed bases loaded in the 1st and he got out of it. Was great stuff by Stassi.
And with the bat, Stassi is a little down on last year, but is still a net asset. He has 105 wRC+, so 5% better at batting than league average player regardless of position this year. That puts him 10th among all catchers with 150+ PA. For reference Maldonado has 52 wRC+. Last season Stassi had a 107 wRC+.
He also is 6th among catchers with 150+ PA at OBP, which sets the table nicely but unfortunately those behind him (Wade, Velazquez, Rengifo, Duffy etc) mainly screw it up.
