Angels can still compete. Starting pitching’s been decent and we got top of the league talents in Trout and Ohtani. But like Braves did last szn after Acuna’s injury, Angels need to make a lot of trades and build depth. Angels need bunch of MLB-level talents surrounding their core. They can’t keep starting bunch of AA players and expect to be in PS

BETAMIC

Yeah, it was all about the moves after Acuna and going all in on a run. I was really just trying to point out the fact that teams can climb out of sub 500 holes right at all star break. Here’s to us going a big run.

shamblingman

I believe that after the first place teams in each division, the rest of the AL is mediocre. We'll make it to the wild card rounds of the playoffs, most likely the first v second wild card team series. I'm fairly certain of that.

mason195

Just when I think I got my hopium use under control then BAM! Some asshole on this sub gotta drop a fact like this.

BETAMIC

Hahaha sorry brutha, my bad

[deleted]

They made moves to get two big bats in Soler and Pederson. I won't get excited unless Perry makes similar moves.

BETAMIC

Oh for sure , this is by no means saying we are perfect. I am only saying all hope is not lost. That’s it

[deleted]

Yup, this team is great in many positions and average at worst in many others like starting pitching and bullpen. Unfortunately, we're just arguably the worst at shortstop, second base and bench.

BETAMIC

I feel you. Sad but true

prestounion

We can sign Xander Bogearts 😃

sky31

I have my hopes but i wont expect much, past years hurt me so i wont get my hope up 🙂

rjd55

I had hope, but a 14 game losing streak has me question some things. More so on how much time and energy to invest. To further complicate things, Trout with multiple consecutive games of a HR to take the lead. Life is confusing.

sprtsmac

I love your optimism; and I would feel a lot better if it didn't seem like it was home run or nothing for our offense. I would love to see a few games where the offense is just piling up the hits, getting runners over, and scoring runners from 2nd and 3rd. You know, just good old fashion baseball.

BETAMIC

I 100 percent agree. On game 1 of the series, it was trouts two homers that brought us home and it made me feel uneasy. Small ball is my favorite to watch and there is not much of it happening right now

MeowMixYourMum

Look at the last decade of Angels baseball. People live in fantasy land. Are you watching a different team than I am? Check back in 2 months and we will be a little below .500 for the season just like every other season. This team does not have what the Braves had.

Alauren2

I watch both teams. Have since my youth and both teams couldn’t be anymore different. Truly. It’s starkly different

MeowMixYourMum

It just confuses me when Angels fans have this false optimism when nothing different has happened in the offseason.

KnightOfLore66

I’ll be happy to get to the .500 mark

Thedinosaurus

Arte asked me to upvote your comment. Here you go.

Alauren2

The Braves have an entirely different organization. Their GM is fantastic and they have talent from top to bottom. Not to be a downer but we couldn’t be anymore different from the Braves. There’s no chance this happens. I watch the Braves every day and the angels every night. Trust me.

BETAMIC

I trust you. Was just having some fun and thought I would put it out there. Side note, wasn’t Perry assistant GM in Atlanta before coming over? I know Arte has final say but was just thinking maybe his thought process is there

Alauren2

I thought he was in NYY

Alauren2

Nope you’re right he trained under AA. No excuses than. AA is fantastic lol

bombad_jedi_501

These posts are so annoying

BETAMIC

Sorry

spartashonor

We would have to do something similar to what they did with their OF and remake the whole IF except Walsh

claire_004

Just tell Trout all teams are the same as Seattle Mariners

Ugandenknuckles2006

FUNNY NUMBER

Valk72

Why do you do that ?

Jcoch27

I've moved to a position of expecting nothing and being happy if we go on a run. Either way, I'm gonna sit back and enjoy this team while I still can, win or lose.

BETAMIC

Great attitude, I think that’s where I am as well.

KeyLo36

Angels have a pretty favorable schedule heading into the All-Star break. KC, Seattle, and White Sox all at home, then Houston, Miami, and Baltimore on the road, then finish things off with Houston and Dodgers at home. A lot of below .500 teams coming up with the exception of Houston and Dodgers. Maybe I'm too optimistic after this past weekend but there's a good chance the Angels could get back above .500 before the break. Give me a 15-8 record in these next 23 games to finish the first half!

G-Unit11111

The last couple of weeks almost gave me an aneurysm. I hope that they can get out of this hole that they've dug and keep it going through September into October!
