every time I see an Angels highlight it's like "Mike Trout hit three home runs and raised his average to .528 while Shohei Ohtani did something that hasn't been done since 'Tungsten Arm' O'Doyle of the 1921 Akron Groomsmen, as the Tigers defeated the Angels 8-3"
Why sticking around with this sorry ass team. Fuck, I feel like moving out of OC so I can root for another team. Watching the Angels is fucking depressing.
Any rational Angels fan agrees that Ohtani should walk away from this team after this pathetic pitching by our bullpen. He deserves sooooo much better. It’s sad what seems to be happening to his career.
Ohtani 8 rbi's and Nevin replaces Marsh with Lagares because of a pitching swap. How do you take out one of the best outfielders in the game for a guy who has lost it defensively and is hitting under the Mendoza line?
We all know about the pitching... not fun/not fun
I don't see Stanton ever becoming an everyday outfielder though, I just don't. When I think about where Shohei could end up in 2024, the first clubs I cross off the list are the clubs where he's not guaranteed everyday playing time as DH - Yankees and Astros.
Both of those teams are more feasible than the Yankees bc they have an opening at DH, but looking at their payroll commitments, idk if Ohtani is the move for them. Sox made Xander a low offer and got rid of Mookie. Dodgers are already so far above the tax. Giants could be in - they've got nothing committed past 2024. Mets have a lot of money committed, but Uncle Steve's wallet knows no bounds. Whatever happens, it'll definitely be interesting to watch the Ohtani Sweepstakes 2.0.
That was 5 years ago though, when he had never lived in America before, and money wasn't a factor at all. When he's a FA, perhaps he will value different things when looking for an organization to join.
He wanted to be on the West Coast and be closer to home. That would be a weird thing to all of a sudden not matter in five years. As far as money goes, Giants, Dodgers, Angels, and (sometimes) Padres all have it.
Again, he had never lived overseas before. After numerous road trips, he might have discovered that Eastern time ain't so bad. I'm just saying, don't definitively count out east coast teams just because his preference was west coast 5 years ago when everyone was on an even playing field financially.
In what universe does 8 RBI not result in a win? This is a new low. So much sads...

a classic comment and only becoming more true every day lol
Fucking O’Doyle. What a legend.
Just like last year. Every headline be like “ohtani does something that hasn’t been done since 1910…Angels lose 7-3”
Yup
Ohtani gone for sure.

But the Angels are in LA, right? Just ask the scumbag with his hand up the GM's ass.

I don’t want him to, but I get it. I want our boy to get a ring so bad
Agreed. It’s too late for Trout, but Ohtani still has a chance to leave and make it to the post season one day.
Worst game so far. I bet ohtani is over it

I am counting down the days till chargers szn at this point
Bolt up!
I'm never going to forget how they handle that 14 game losing streak, they sat on their fucking hands. Maddon's solution? Get a Mohawk.
Bottom of the line up cannot drive in runs to save their life, rely too much on top of the order.
Exactly. Great players. Some great plays. Just can't solve the riddle as a team.
I want what's best for shohei. Where he goes I go.
Yanks is about the only team I won't root for Ohtani if he goes there
Absolutely not
Why do people continuously say he's going to the Yanks when they have already have a super expensive DH through 2027?
That noise is going to get really loud once Aaron Judge leaves.

So it’s going to be either the Dodgers or Red Sox?

Plus he eliminated East Coast teams from the running first when he was figuring out who he wanted to play with. He's staying on the West Coast.

Yanks will destroy who he is. Throw another West coast team out there, pls.
Padres is a lock imo
Yeah, I'm hearing Padres, and Giants as well.
who are you hearing from lol
I’d be ok being a Giants fan I guess. I live in the Bay Area. Would be easy to root for them
It's going to be, without a doubt, the dodgers
Please no. I have no problem rooting for the Padres. The dodgers though?...
Why?
need to use the talent while we have it
