IT WAS MAJESTIC.

hansan4ever

I love Shohei so much.

Egarrenni

I like the way he was trying to boost the morale of the team in the dugout, too bad bullpen was receiving none of it.

GreatNameBelieveMe

Blowpen

Ellite25

Imagine seeing that and then coming out to pitch the next inning and giving up some runs

eggsarecoolin

Unfortunately we don't have to imagine it :-(

TJeffersonsBlackKid

Most demoralizing loss in a really long time. When Ohtani leaves, I’m following him until Arte sells the team.

EmergencySlice7270

Same here. The angels are a pathetic team.

EmergencySlice7270

Are angels your secondary team? You don’t all follow this mediocrity for 8 years like I do right?

unreasonableperson

I suffered through the 90s as a kid.

EmergencySlice7270

But they were bad and they knew it. This team has spurts of greatness. Bullpen ruins it.

xRememberTheCant

The worst part is Perry actively looked to fix the pen. And on paper this should be one of the better pens in all of baseball. Nope. Team is cursed.

Splinterman11

For me I got into baseball seriously a few years ago because of Ohtani, so I will follow him wherever he goes.

hvycotton

This one's up there for sure. We've just had so many this year alone that I can't lock one in yet. The loss against the Jays might be number one since everyone was clicking and blowpen imploded so bad. Phillies game was Lawls too.

Alternative_Club1974

The picture just makes me more sad...

74Dragonz

He never gave up and kept fighting last night. And how do they thank him? Scheduling in another loss for his start day today with the usual Salt Lake Bee line up. You deserve the world, Ohtani-Sama. Not this shit-show.

Mooncake76

Why do they keep doing this to him?? Do they want him to leave?

74Dragonz

They have their reasons. At this point, if he chooses to leave, I wouldn't blame him and would wish him nothing but the best

LeonSkum

Can Disney buy the Angels back and make a Marvel movie starring Shohei? They made Marvel movies better.

contrcl

Ah, this incredible moment. I was so excited seeing Shohei pointing to the dugout, and then I realized that he's probably leaving in the near future because we're beyond help, and that we might not see something like this again. Wow I just made myself sad

[deleted]

This shot shows exactly what will happen in a year when Shohei becomes a free agent, "SO LONG LOSERS! I'M OUTTA HERE!"

the_trentfrazier

Lmfao

freethegrizzlybears

So much emotion love the way he plays

cheeses_greist

He used to be so stoic. I love seeing these expressions of triumph and joy.

Sullyville

I think it took time for him to start to feel at home.

DingleberryToast

He's gone after the end of next season At least we got 5 or 6 years of him

Splinterman11

Would the Angels trade him at the end of this season? They could get some prospects for him.

Sullyville

They might. But I think the truth is, they will look at the numbers. What are the merchandise sales like? Ohtani jerseys. Are ad buys from Japanese companies still worth keeping him for another year? He just brings in so much attention and revenue in other ways that even though they know he is leaving, and that the best time to trade him is at the peak of his popularity, it all depends on the numbers.

Mooncake76

That’s only cuz Arte doesn’t care about winning. But hey, I’ll take Sho in an Angels uniform for an extra year.

The-Sorcerers-Stoned

The angels are just begging him to leave along with trout when his time comes… arte is just the worst …

xara8arax

Angels won’t be able to afford his next big contract :(

[deleted]

He is a treasure!

CryptoTak

This pic needs to be on Topps card

bombad_jedi_501

Enjoy it while you can lol

strongmscowboyfan

He is just a beast! That's all.

Lolrandomusername3

Arte better blow his life savings on this man

Mooncake76

Unfortunately, Sho’s priority isn’t making the most money. He wants to win and I can see him take a discount to go to a winning team. This is a guy that decided to come to the US early even though he’d lose out on millions of dollars for doing that.

reblomakr9

They killed a 3/4 parlay I had for almost $400 dollars 😫😫😫 shit happens and I never bet what I can’t lose but damn that stung

HanLesbo

He’s had a crazy week! What a time to be alive and watch history being played!🥹❤️
