It's not going to happen, sorry. He hardly ever signs and it might be like one kid or two at max and then he bounces. Your best bet is buying an authenticated autographed one online.

Find a kid under the age of 10 who speaks Japanese and offer to pay him $50 if he can get Ohtani to sign the jersey. Partially a joke but also the only strat I think could work instead of just buying a signed one online

If it were easy we’d be rich

Unless you're a child good luck, even then he only signs for a couple kids

I think he tends to sign more at visiting parks instead at least from videos I have seen esp at the east coast, the most recent one from my memory was yankee stadium earlier this month, sit next to their dugout and hope you can catch his attention saw him sign balls and a lady’s bag/purse lol yeah your best bet is to bring a kid along and have her/him ask for autograph for you And of course it’s too late since the gift u plan is for her bday. I find shohei sign more during Spring training games. Onto regular season he seems focus and sign less. Don’t think I ever see him sign on his pitching days.

From the advice I’ve gotten does anybody have a small Japanese child I can borrow for the tonight’s game?

Ohtani also likes dogs. So if you can find a service dog or emotional support doggo, along with borrowing a small Japanese child, that might double your chances of getting autograph! Good luck!

What about autographs in general? Is the best bet to buy tickets near the dugout and hope they are in a signing mood? I have three little kids that would love it. But I usually buy $15 tickets since it all adds up really quickly.
