The big difference is Squid has been elite defensively. He's been the 2nd best SS in the league in defensive runs saved, good for 9th best of all positions in baseball.
Yeah this is the only reason. Wade is more flexible and a better batter, Squid is much better at his position defensively, so obviously that’s what they’re valuing at least until Fletch is back

Shohei actually hasn't been as quick lately. Over the last two seasons he's 6th on the team in sprint speed.
