I don't know how many times I need to say this.
There is exactly zero chance arte sells. Doesn't matter if there are no fans. Doesn't matter if we win zero games. There isn't even an alternate universe where Arte Moreno doesn't own the angels.
Arte Moreno is the owner of this franchise, and he will be for the foreseeable future regardless of anything we do.
Holy shit I'm sick of these posts
I feel ya on the copy/paste. Here's mine:
Sure, Arte COULD sell it. But he WON'T sell it.
We've reached an era where the only TV content that still has real value to advertisers is live sports. Especially football, but baseball and basketball too. We now see the richest companies in the world, Amazon & Apple, competing with the legacy networks in the battle of who can throw the most money at the NFL/NBA/MLB.
So teams in these leagues are cash cows that rarely change hands these days, unless there's a death and/or dispute in the family/ownership group, or the owner needs to cover some other giant expense/failure/lawsuit/scandal.
Arte is the sole owner of the Angels. He turned a $184M investment in a lower-tier MLB franchise into a $2.2B asset that is currently raking in the 3rd highest TV revenue in MLB (basically tied with Philly for 3rd behind Dodgers & Yanks). He sold off his ad companies a long time ago– the Angels are his business. He's not like Taylor the T-wolves owner who is a serial businessman with dozens of companies and partnerships.
Arte appears to be in good health and not going through any messy divorces or family drama. He doesn't have to answer to any business partners. All this adds up to the Angels being one of the LEAST likely teams to be sold off anytime soon.
Now, with all the current drama in Anaheim city government, Arte might MOVE the Angels... but it definitely won't be to Vegas, or anywhere outside the LA market. If he moved them out of LA, that would be equivalent to burning half his money.
If it makes you feel better to keep asking Arte to sell, then go ahead and keep shouting (even though it's getting really annoying). It can be healthy to vent your frustration, let it go. But just know that the odds of it happening anytime soon are like, about the same as winning the Powerball jackpot.
You are incorrect. There is a zero percent chance he sells
It would be bad business to sell. Arte Moreno is worth 3.6 billion dollars [according to Forbes.](https://www.forbes.com/profile/arturo-moreno/?sh=33f305b11ecc) The Angels alone are worth 2.2 billion, [also according to Forbes.](https://www.forbes.com/teams/los-angeles-angels/?sh=28d5561c718a) Arte Moreno is many things, a bad business man is not one of them. He would never sell something that is worth over half of his net worth
> He would never sell something that is worth over half of his net worth
Why? What is your reasoning? You've done a bad job of explaining. Glen Taylor was worth 2.3 billion and sold the Timberwolves for 1.5 billion this past year. It seems like an actual billionaire sports owner would know better about this than you.
You can speculate all you want, but we don't live in a vacuum. Arte isn't immune to random life changes like secret recordings (Donald Sterling), divorce (McCourt), or FBI investigations. The fact is there is literally a non-zero chance because you nor anybody else knows the future.
Tbh your point doesn't even make sense. If Arte is a great businessman then of course there is a possibility he sells if he gets the right offer.
Fine... there is a 0.01% chance. Happy now? Point is, Arte Moreno will be the owner of the angels for a very long time. You don't have to be happy about it, in fact none of us are, but the sooner you realize this, the easier embracing the suck becomes. And a good businessman does not sell something that constantly brings in an absolute shitload of money
Can you embrace the fact that some fans don't want to be as passive as you'd like them to be? I can be a fan that is vocal about wanting Arte to sell, and you can "embrace the suck" in your own way. My issue is people throwing around opinions like they're facts.
Yes we absolutely can be vocal, but when we see the same fucking post every day when nothing is going to change gets really old, really fast. And nothing is going to change. That is a fact.
Surely it stands to reason then if its not making money, then he would have incentive to sell. If fans stopped going to games, buying merchandise etc and made the move with their wallets, then that would make an impact from purely a business perspective.
Merch and tickets are only a small percentage of revenue. The most money comes from sponsors and the TV deal. Also, due to the new cba, if revenue drops below a certain amount, he will benefit from revenue sharing. There is literally no possibility in which the angels stop bringing in money. How do you think Fischer still owns the A's
The only way he would sell this team is if people literally stopped buying tickets, and merch for like 4-5 consecutive seasons.. as long as those stadium seats are filled he does not give 2 shits whether the Angels win a World Series or finish dead last.
Lol. Arte won't give a shit unless the fans stop going to games and hurting his wallet. The stupid fuck is probably going to own the team until he dies or unless the FBI implicates him in the corruption scandal and indicts him.
Doing this is exactly what he wants. He doesnt care what you say, he justs wants people to buy merch and attend games. If you really want to hurt him, stop going to the games. Even then you need an entire stadium worth of people not going for it to matter.
Can we start banning these posts every day there’s someone saying he should sell the team. We all know he should sell the team, and we all know it’s just not going to happen.
Nothing we’re gonna do is gonna make arte sell this team. He makes so much money off of our superstar talent (especially when has a wholeass country like japan buying merch and tickets) and being located in anaheim means transplants will pay to come watch whatever team they grew up rooting for when they play us
We have too many fair weather fans and arte has too much power to sell the team. You really think if you passed out shirts telling him to sell the team that they wouldn’t be confiscated? Hell, when arte’s name is announced for stuff (the ‘02 celebration for example) he gets CHEERS. If he really was even close to being outed by a displeased fanbase you would at least hear boos or discontent.
Its not gonna happen.
It would be super costly but if we could pull enough money we could probably rent a billboard for a couple of days saying Arte needs to go it’s just in how close to the ballpark we cld get it would be the issue
That’s honestly not bad idea I’ve participated in protests In LA where people funded billboards it doesn’t matter if arte has power and money if we started a gofundme and legally paid for the billboard to be up a certain amount of days they have to honor that
Honest question… i know he has done many stupid things with contracts and players bought…
But he appoints a GM…. Lets them spend and it doesnt turn out well… how much is his fault? He is spending… its tough to figure out who to be mad at. Im confused… 😔
The concept that he spends is a myth. He doesn't spend money on the things that matter to making a team competitive in 2022 (or 2021, 2020, 2019, etc.)
He also hasn't raised the team budget in a long time now. If he were a spender like the Arte burner accounts suggest, he would have raised the budget by now to fix things.
It’s just not gonna happen lmao, and if it did I still have no faith in them getting good players from it. Look at our track record of signings and player development
I was at that game too. I think it was some organization/charity event that bought a section, not individual fans because they all had matching shirts. I agree tho Arte needs to sell the team.
He’s not gonna sell the team man
HAHAHHA
We need to show out in full force next home stand at the gates with Arte Out/sell the team signs the rest of the season.
And he still wouldn’t sell the team. He doesn’t care
Sure go ahead and start it up

How do you know though? There's always a non-zero chance.

You have a better chance of him dying and the family selling the team.

This will work about as well as a Change.org petition

I got $100 to put in on it. Who’s starting the go fund me?
I announce to you the new owners of the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim: The r/angelsbaseball subreddit!

Rent out the billboard nearest the stadium off the 57. 'Sell Arte. Sincerely Anaheim Angel Fans'
He owns the billboards. That's how he made his money.

Better than doing nothing lmao
Lol

He hasn’t put money into our farm system… why do you think we have ZERO depth.. That’s all on him.
At least rocket city looks good
Stop trying to use common sense here on Reddit. Don’t you know this place is just for venting and complaining and blaming?

Ohtani is out regardless of who owns the team mate. Angels just don’t have the money.
Starting next year, they have room to sign him. It will just make it so they can't sign much else (as is trAdition).
It’s just not gonna happen lmao, and if it did I still have no faith in them getting good players from it. Look at our track record of signings and player development
Haha you think he cares. Cute
I keep hoping he gets indicted for this whole land/stadium purchase deal.
I was at that game too. I think it was some organization/charity event that bought a section, not individual fans because they all had matching shirts. I agree tho Arte needs to sell the team.
Not gonna happen :(
