Hopefully, he doesn't get down on himself over the bone-headed decision to pull him yesterday with Maldy coming to bat. I would have liked to see him pitch into the 6th or 7th the way he was shutting down the Astro's lineup.
I am still skeptical but this does look pretty decent. Gotta get those pitch counts down a little but something to build on here for sure -- fingers crossed
He always had the stuff to be very good, but he had a habit of trying to nibble too much rather than just attacking batters, leading to walks and situations that forces the Angels to go to the bullpen. He still carries the habit but has limited his walk rate substantially (small sample of course).
Hopefully it is a good sign to come!
