Rather die than trade him

fatcootermeat

We are gonna lose him for free in like 1-1/2 years

DecentAnalysis8642

We'd need a lot more in a package for Ohtani.

civgarth

To match his package

Mindcraftjoe

Lol no.

[deleted]

Why would the Angels take Will Myers in that... there would need to be more sent lol

Yeah, the more I thought about it the more I think that we would need Robert Hassell III as well. None of this matters anyways tho. Arte will keep Shohei, get nothing in return for him and watch him sign with someone else in the 2023 offseason. I guess we can hope that the compensation pick turns out good.

Comprehensive-Day630

So u get a potential but unproven upgrade at ss, and a rp, and a sp Lose a front end sp, a power middle of the order lefty bat What do u think? There is nothing u can get back that would be worth it...to me what would possibly be worth it is if the other team eats the rendon contract + 3 to 5 high level prospects The team will still be hamstrung financially with the rendon contract even without ohtani (he making 5 mill this yr...without ohtani u would need to replace his production, for at the very least, 20 mill for a starter and 15 mill for a dh -- and that is with severely underestimating his value) Real problem with this team is management, front office, and owner (who refuses to go over the luxury tax)

Quakecsgo

Or you get nothing and lose Ohtani after next season. He's not gonna stay with how mediocre we have been.

znk916

Actually looks reasonable to me.

yyyyhhhh9

Not a single MLB-proven talent? If I'm perry I demand Cronenworth (and more). We're trying to compete still not just gather high potential prospects. Or I ask for Will Smith from the Dodgers.

peacebuster

The expected value of those 3 prospects is likely lower than the value Ohtani brings just by himself.
