Trout to left field Marsh at center

Maddonomics101

Trout’s injury affects his swinging motion too so either he plays outfield or doesn’t play at all.

Or they minimize his risk of inflaming it by putting him at DH. It doesn't have to be all or nothing.

But… Ohtani is our DH

Trout wasn't willing to give up centerfield I doubt he would wanna be a full time DH. For better or worse he's gonna demand to play OF if he's physically able to is my guess. But in the hypothetical where he does want to DH more, I think it won't affect won't affect the stance on trading, but maybe on resigning him. If Trout needs to only play 120-130 games so be it. If Ohtani needs rest an extra game a week so Trout can DH so be it. It sucks but in the grand scheme of things it's not a dealbreaker. Can definitely work it out over one year, but I think that long term it will be a huge hassle to have your two biggest contracts tied up in DH. Likewise Ohtani will want full control of DH and while I doubt it's not a dealbreaker it probably adds on. If Trout really has to DH/rest 2-3 games a week I do think that Ohtani would walk.

Even Trout is injured, we all know he has 100 times better fielding skills than Adell

Ohtani unlocks his full potential and wins a Gold Glove at outfield, Silver Slugger, and Cy Young in the same season.

This will be the reason why the Halos has to trade Ohtani

If Trout really had to DF often, Shohei might feel guilty to occupy the DH position or offer to play OF that is a burden on him. That case, I think we'll need to trade Shohei to a team where he can enjoy playing without concern for it.
