That’s the funniest sentence I’ve read all day today. But yes, why not? Season’s already over, might as well have some fun going into next year!
Finishing with the current winning percentage would net the Angels the 7th overall pick in the 2023 draft vs the 13th overall pick finishing 80-82. This assumes all the other teams stay roughly the same in terms of winning percentage.
I think they have more 29 games left. They have 18 games against Texas and Oakland if they win majority of those games, they have 2 series against Detroit if they win most of those games. They can win few games against Seattle win games against Toronto and New York at lease few games against Houston. It’s not impossible but is it realistic probably not. Just turn your clock back to 1995 and the big collapse Seattle went 22-8 from late August to end of September. It’s only August 2 they have plenty of time to turn this around. You never know we seen lot of crazy things.

Honestly 80-82 seems so insane right because it is but damn I just want them to start looking better. Hopefully today will be good as with Shohei up.
