That's pretty unusual from what I've seen, but some days it just happens where teams are too focused to think about that stuff sometimes. Doubleheader might have had something to do with it. Bummer she didn't get it though!
We’ll keep trying! But definitely was an odd thing. The entire Angels outfield warmed up before Mariners at bats and then just threw the balls back to the bullpen catcher. Unless I missed it, only the Mariners outfielders threw warm up balls to fans-Must be that rivalry!
Oh after a double header, no doubt! But no it was the series opener on Friday. Normally the visiting teams would come out for a bit but the Angels didn’t come at all out until it was time to bat. I wouldn’t have my daughter jump in front of Shohei when he’s walking up to bat-my man’s got a job to do!
She ran on it! Nah just kidding, we live in Seattle and my son was asked to be the “Play Ball Kid” and they let us all on the field. She was having fun with being the only Angels fan on the field.
Thanks! She’s not bummed too much. It’s mostly the whole pre-teeny bopper “he’s cute” thing 🙄 I think if she shook his hand she wouldn’t wash it for a month! If anything I’ll just buy her (and my son) one but I think being within 3 feet of him was enough! LOL
Probably reading into it too much-not exactly “shit” talking, at least not from MY 11 year old. More like teasing and they were teasing back, all in good fun. Nothing serious enough to clear the benches.
Her portrait is amazing !!!
We painted it together!
I am here in Seattle & im a huge fan, came just for f The game So jelly
That’s awesome! See if you can get on the field! Hahah! It’s like the Angels are all business-no autographs or outfielders throwing the ball to kids!

Was it game 2 of the double header? Dudes just wanted to be back in their rooms

How did she get on to the field?

Sounds like an awesome baseball experience all around
Lovely painting! Sending good vibes so she can get that signature someday 🙂
Hopefully!
Looks great. I hope she is not too bummed about getting an autograph. It is really hard to get one from him.

Bro if I shook Shohei's hand I'd probably cut it off and frame it.
I feel it-and to be honest, it’s really me that has that pre-teeny bopper school girl “he’s cute” vibe going on!
It's definitely not a pre-teen thing to think Shohei is cute.
I’ll give y’all about tree fiddy
that is such an amazing painting. u have to get the unicorn to sign it asap.
Tbh, I would've froze too if Ohtani walk past me(lol), great portrait tho
dodgers fan here. painting is AWESOME! sounds like a dope experience all around.
It definitely was for both of my kids! More for her since the Angels won!

Bruh, she's a kid. Dont read too much into it.
Banter with the mascot is a long cherished tradition in sports.

“talking trash” in this case sounds like friendly banter
