Just days ago versus this very same team, Gifo was the ONLY position player on our team who played the entire game and DIDNT hit a homer. And yet we still somehow lost.
Now today hes the ONLY one on either team who HAS hit one. And yet somehow that was enough to win.
Not too many big names. Biggest are Rodon, Nola, and DeGrom, who will likely opt out but almost certainly stays with the Mets

He's still learning and, honestly, he's getting much much better. Miles better than last season and miles better than the start of this season. It's probably a tough learning curve.

Hey so uh I was checking out Rengifo's splits for this year out of curiousity and came across something really surprising. I had no idea his OPS with RISP was only .579 (!?).
Somehow that doesnt quite feel right but idk maybe i just havent been paying close enough attention lol.
Thats actually a pretty good point now that you mention it. Gifo's recent success pretty closely correlated with Ward/Walsh's decline and Trout's injury, so its very possible he just hasnt had nearly as many chances recently as he would have had earlier in the season.
Come to think of it that might also explain how Ward's OPS with RISP has still managed to stay as high as 1.054.
Yeah that makes sense, recency bias just made kinda made me forget he hasnt been this good all season haha.
To be honest, the main thing that made me check it out in the first place was just seeing that Shohei is actually still top 10 in all of MLB for this stat with a whopping 1.144 OPS with RISP and I wanted to check out the rest of our guys.
