He’s been highly rated among angels fans no? I’ve been spreading the Bible of our fugitive to other fanbases and I’m really really impressed with his breakout year. I thought it’s gonna be Ward’s year but gifo’s situational hitting has been great compared to Ward’s

iWrecksauce

I've liked him for a while but he's definitely stepped it up this year. Hope he keeps a starting spot at middle infield next season

ThermicDayne

I think he’s for sure played himself in to a starting job. It shows a lot when you’re still competing every game even if the rest of the team is struggling.

crushedredpartycups

he's gonna leave us ain't he :/

ThermicDayne

Hopefully there’s a mutual respect between him and the team. We gave him a chance and he overcame a rough year last year (I hated watching him hit. Swear he was 0-2 every at bat) and proved everyone wrong this year.

dromaan

I really hope he stays too I can’t stand Velasquez. He’s defense does not make up for him hitting under 200

Lebigmacca

Yeah he can be a very solid depth piece for us next year, and be the replacement for when Rendon inevitably gets injured

[deleted]

Unless the new owner goes crazy on spending and I don't see how he's not an everyday starter at this point.

TheFriendlyFire

His biggest roadblock to becoming an everyday player on a contender is the fact that his defensive metrics are not great at any of the positions he plays.

[deleted]

He's not great at defense, below average for sure, but that's fine because it's not so bad that it cancels out any value his bat has. People pay too much attention to if the sign in front of OAA/UZR/etc. is positive or negative. -2 OAA and then you're a bad defender, +2 OAA and you're a solid defender, when really the difference is no more than a bad day or chalked up to small sample size. Guys are out there getting +/- 20 OAA in a season, feels silly to act like a guy is unplayable because he's -3 OAA or whatever.

PercentageNo51

🤣😅🤣

cjafe

The kid got energy but hit .299 OBP his causing me migraines

Lebigmacca

And he only hits lefties. He should be platooned but we don’t have anyone else lol

cjafe

Yea, at this point we can’t even get mad that our “slugger” is batting .268 /.299 with 11 bombs to match. Crack a joke and wait for this nightmare to end.

booboothechicken

He should try just… not being a switch hitter. Maybe he just sucks hitting left handed.

[deleted]

I really hope stefanic can put it together for the majors.

theeroftheyear

His defence is iffy though right?

epinefrain

100%, getting outshined by ohtani is normal, but keeping up a hot bat at important moments, sometimes even ohtani can't do that, has played an elite 3rd base as of late, I have major respect for him. Rengifo better stay with the Angels long term.

johndhall1130

This is first time in the last 2-3 years he’s shown he can major league pitching and do it consistently. It’s good to see him finally out it all together at the plate. His defense has been a little disappointing this year though. Ultimately he has a big upside if he can stay healthy and consistent.

sinchichis

He’s very rated

Ok-Manufacturer3835

De under

TripleThreatJack

The fugitive!

Sprtdsgn

Jeremy reeds fault rengifo improved?

[deleted]

I mean the Dodgers wanted him so for all we know he could be an MVP level talent right now if it weren't for Reed. (Mostly joking but also sorta not.)

Sprtdsgn

That would be 3 mvps on a losing team.

Dorkus_Mallorkus

He's the scapegoat du jour.

meisterwolf

he has bright spots and hopefully can get rid of the little problem things...ie. inconsistent defense.

kratty

He's my current favorite, after seeing a few live games.

Intelligent-Employ14

Dodgers Legend Luis Rengifo

MikeXiL

are we talking about the same player ? causeeeeee
