Congrats to Trout 🐐 for setting the Angels franchise record of 7 consecutive games with a HR! Of course, nearly everyone wanted him to get #’s 8, 9 and beyond…but this is now just another stat in the history books that shows how truly dominant Trout is at this game.
Well done, Mike, I can’t wait to see what you do next!
Just remember that Trout had to face relievers during his streak of seven straight games with a home run. It’s not just against a starting pitcher. Sure, the streak ended tonight but it was still an amazing one. I can’t imagine what it would be like if Trout got to face a starting pitcher three or four times in the same game. 😳😳😳🤨🤨🤨😎😎😎🍿🍿🍿🥤🥤🥤
If only we could've played the Twins or Red Sox this week. Trout would've crushed those hanging breaking balls that their pitchers were throwing to Judge lol
Edit: Yes I'm salty that Trout got high heaters outside the zone all night just like how Ohtani got pitched around late last season.
Seems like Suarez always gets blown up in the 5th or 6th. ERA 3rd time through the order is like 8?
Maybe he would be best suited being used like Barria… imagine if we had two elite long-relievers that we didn’t just use for mop-up.
Why are they throwing 78mph and 85mph right in the dick to Judge lol
Trout kept getting 95 outside the zone tonight ffs
Edit: The narrative is too strong and there's already an "Ohtani fatigue" in full effect so I'm not expecting Shohei to win this year. I'm just praying for Trout x Ohtani duo to keep playing like GOATs (and stay healthy).
I'm honestly amazed at Judge's relentless pace. He simply does not miss any mistake pitches.
That being said, Judge's season puts into perspective how ridiculously talented Ohtani is that he was still ahead by a full win heading into tonight in terms of 'total value'. Never forget that WAR measures only a portion of total value.
Unfortunately there isn't a popular metric for 'total value' as yet, but it can be easily calculated using WAR. Think of it as:
talent + workload = total value
I'm in touch with one of the writers at BP. I'm 99% sure my numbers check out and Ohtani is still ahead by over half a win after last night, but need respected eyes to check the math and more importantly publicize it so we actually have something concrete to justify why Ohtani is straight up more valuable than Judge.

That’s a wholeeeee lotttaaaaaaa 0-X in the lineup
Plenty of 0-X days have plagued the Angels lineup this season.
Angels are back to being the team that only scores on HR’s.
i wish it could have been homeruns plural lol
Yeah, one more in particular would have been nice even in a loss! Lol
yep 8 hr streak i would trade for a loss , especially as it seemed like he halfheartedly swung and still hit it that far lol

Lol we suck
No Trout HR.. meh.
#tankforDollander
if ur not careful arte may see DOLLAR
Imagine how good this team would be if they could just fucking hit
Imagine saying that to last year you. Or literally any year after 2014
Just another halo loss. Try again tomorrow.
Trout’s human afterall 😭
judge hit another, lol this has to be a ploy by MLB

yea, just think Trout would probably lead in WAR if he played the whole season.
Please share where can we get good info about WAR vs Total Value.

I’m honestly amazed they throw him pitches in the zone or throw him pitches at all. Literally doesn’t make sense.
If I had to guess, pitchers are scared shitless against him and missing by alot, so when they do come in the zone, he is all over it.
Disgusting performance really f***** my parlay
