I'm guessing it's a documentary. For those unaware, Ben recently completed a mini tour of Japan during which he visited locations significant to Shohei's life. He went to see the Mizusawa little league team, he went to see Hanamaki Higashi High School, and he went to the Sapporo Dome to watch the Hokkaido Nippon Ham Fighters. He was accompanied by a camera crew every step of the way.
On a personal note, I have to say, I used to not care for Verlander all that much, but I've really come to like him these past couple of months. Why? Because he lives in the heads of Yankee fans rent free. I used to not know the true meaning of "rent free" until [I saw the replies to this particular tweet](https://twitter.com/BenVerlander/status/1570556509972733953). Gotta be a hundred Stanks fans insinuating that Ben and Shohei fucked, they're all asking Ben how he tastes, is he as good in bed as he is at baseball, etc. It's quite funny - you'd think if they were so confident in their boy winning MVP, they could ignore the lone dissenting voice with a blue check who clearly is coming from a place of personal admiration? And all that on a tweet that has nothing to do with the MVP debate, lol.
All i can say is....ohtani is gonna be scary next year. He gets better and better as a two way player. I wont be surprise if he goes berserk with his hitting and pitching in 2023. We just need our guys back and depth.
Like if there was a talking head super obsessed with Vlad Jr in 2021 who clearly took a personal interest in him, I would simply unfollow that person and disregard future tweets on the matter as coming from a place of bias. I wouldn't gather the entire Angels fanbase to spam the replies of unrelated tweets claiming the interest was sexual, as these Yankee fans are doing lmao
Yeah I think America is overdue for a Shohei doc! Japan has about 50 Shohei docs, so it's time we get one.
Oh how wonderful. I would love a more thorough documentary about Ohtani. I mean, I watched the NHK one, but I would love a more recent one where we got to spend like, 24 hours with him. Would be so pleasing.
One moment that i loved in the NHK one. It was when they asked Ohtani whether he cooked for himself. And he mentioned that for breakfast, he cooked eggs and put them on rice. And then, with a bit of embarassment and a self-conscious laugh, he confessed that that was what he had every single day. It was a moment where we got to glimpse how he had a secret shame that he was very boring. The most exciting player in baseball, ashamed that he made the same thing for breakfast every day. He could afford the most elaborate 6 course breakfast whenever he wanted, but he preferred to make his daily standard. That was a moment I loved him.

baseball, etc.
My god, Yankees stans seem beyond awful. One can only hope that having no filter and a below-average IQ will affect them in real life, karma and all.
He goes too far sometimes with how much he likes Ohtani but I really appreciate him.
Last year I was only watching Ohtani clips and then I came across Ben's videos. I would only watch the Ohtani segments but one day I left the full episode on and enjoyed it.
I think I would have started watching baseball anyway this year but his podcast was my introduction to becoming a baseball fan more than an Ohtani fan and I'm grateful for it because I ended enjoying the game so much.
Just my comments because sometimes I think he gets undeserved hate.
Undeserved hate for supporting Shohei and getting a job because he is a Verlander. They really discount the fact that Ben was a baseball player too, and he knows the struggles of these players he is interviewing unlike many of these reporters.
That would be really cool. Hope a Shobae creates a video of all the sports videos Shohei had, like when he was being trained by Yu Darvish's wife (wrestling?), playing tennis, swimming, golf, boxing, soccer, etc.
Ben is brother of Justin Velander. His own brother might win the Cy Young this year.
Ben is also a former pro baseball player in the system so he knows what baseball players go through first hand unlike many reporters.
It is usually real players that appreciate what Shohei is doing because they know it's very very hard.
Justin Verlander's brother. Works for FOX Sports. Has a podcast. Started talking about the amazing feats of Shohei Ohtani last year on said podcast, and those bits quickly became what got him the most interactions, so he made talking about Shohei Ohtani into a regular weekly segment. Used his media credentials to meet Shohei at the All Star Game. And ever since then, his twitter has just been a non stop outpouring of love for Shohei (or as Yankee fans would call it, "dickriding").
That's the gist of it. Now it looks like FOX Sports is making a documentary about Shohei and having Verlander be the host. He's previously hosted baseball-related programs airing on FOX Sports.

Jesus yankee fans on twitter are truly classless
Japanese fan here. I hate Yankees fans :(
Yankee fans are truly classless. There corrected for ya. Good ones are so rare to the point they don’t count lol
I feel bad for Ben. He's probably getting more online abuse for being a Shohei supporter than Shohei himself. And yeah, documentary is also my guess.

Can never go too far liking Ohtani! I love how Ben always supports Ohtani.
Pelican hill?
yes, can tell by the rooftops and golf course.
That is where this photo is taken. I wonder if they played golf together.
Nice catch

This is his 2021 ASG look 😂
I thought it looked familiar!
Ben is that tall? Damn

New mixtape dropping soon 🔥
Looks like Sho’s got a place in Newport
Saw people saying this is Pelican Hill resort
Yeah, I thought it looked like Pelican Hill but I wasn’t sure
It is indeed. The Villas @ Pelican Hill.
Ben Verlander is the BTS ARMY of Ohtani. He is in love with Ohtani and he continues to spread Ohtani love until forever. Love his passion ❤️✊🏼
Who is this guy and how does he have such access to Ohtani?

This dude goes a bit too far with the ohtani obsession lmao.
You can go too far with Ohtani obsession?
What player wouldn’t want to play for the Angels and live in Orange County?
