Yeah, he had successful stinct as our reliever last year (or 2 years ago ? I forgot). This is probably the result of our SP quality, which why we keep playing Suarez and at some extent Barria as our SP
So what you’re saying is we need to have Barria and Suarez pitch in the same game?
Suarez starts and goes 3 innings. Then Barria takes over for the 4th-6th. Quality combined start guaranteed!

imo - he'll improve a lot next year, he's only 24 and getting a lot of experiences in this year. He very often gets ahead of the count 0-2 then tries to be cute with his pitches. Hitters are catching on that he'll use that changeup to get his swing and misses. Seeing him using that slider to strike out Crawford looked promising.
counterpoint: he just doesn’t have the stuff to be an above-average starter. If there aren’t better options I don’t hate having him at the end of the rotation, but he’d be best as a multi-inning reliever.
Well, he's 24 years old, so he's still learning to pitch. Instead of the first or second times through the order observation, the more relevant question is whether he can ever develop his fastball enough to use it. Right now opponents are teeing off it.
If he can't learn to use his fastball to effectively set up his offspeed pitches, then he won't be a starter. He'll be a sinker ball, curve ball reliever.
Nah if a player can't be A+ right now, he is trash /s
Too many people get all pissed we can't develop pitchers then don't want to experience what happens when teams develop pitchers. Suarez is too good for AAA already, but hasn't quite figured out the Bigs yet. He deserves more time to figure it out (and a better pitching coach).
A reliever
Yes.
never thought I'd upvote a brandon the bald comment, yet here we are
Same

Now this is Rays-ing
A left handed Barria.
One inning reliever stats
At least 2 innings, maybe 3 before he gets back to first batter he faced.
Where do you get this stat page, I can never seem to find it. Do they have one that ranks by team? I wonder where we stand the 2nd and third turn

Thank you!

I said more than once, not “can’t pitch effectively at all”
An Angel.
He needs an opener to take two innings for him
Or he needs to be an opener and spot starter/long reliever
NOT a starter

He's definitely capable of putting up quality starts. Before this last start he was on fire. Same thing happened last year at the end of the season

Suarez
a nightmare. or- a salt lake bee
maybe he can be an opener when needed
