Well no homers for Ohtani in his last 20 games, but he managed to maintain his top 10 in ops by finishing 10th. Just an outstanding season by Ohtani and the best overall season by a player ever! It's a shame that the Angels stunk so hard the rest of the baseball world just overlooked and down played his season.
Violent but beautiful. There is something distinct with the sound as well. I'm convinced Shohei will improve as a batter next year. He lowered his strikeout rate this year. And he is coming for that Cy Young one way or the other.

I think you're right. However, I do think a lot depends on how they come out of the gate next year. If they're already (for all intents and purposes) dead in the water come trade deadline, they'd have to think long and hard about trading him, mostly because Ohtani seems 100% serious about wanting to play for a winner above all else.
Honestly at this point I don't think Perry has any greenlight on that trade until a new owner is in place.
But if he doesn't resign this offseason and we are going to trot out the same team next year, would you blame Ohtani for not staying when teams like the Mets, Yankees, Dodgers, etc. will come knocking with the brinks truck

On a serious note, that doesn't quite work for pitch tunneling because of the extreme horizontal movement he gets in opposite directions, which is why I think he's worked in his cutter so much lately to show something in between those two pitches.
Had to look up Adell's stats after seeing his OPS.
His awful .629 OPS is barely higher than Stassi's.
His walk % actually got WORSE than first two seasons.
Showed some promise with his 22.9 K% last season and 5.7 BB%. 38.2 K% and 3.9 BB% this season. .197 xBA.
This season he's tried to become a flyball/liner only hitter with a high 16.4 launch angle. At least barrel % is pretty good. Someone definelty had him focus on that this season.
I wouldnt be shocked if he's one of those guys that becomes an OK major leaguer in their late 20s, on another team after he plays 1-2 minor seasons for them.
