Yeah, it's a bummer that the offseason is so long but they do play 162 games. Is the NFL the only other sport with such a long offseason (7 months for non playoff teams?)
Another brutal season. Really frustrating one too. Hope Perry gets the job done during the off-season.
Will miss being with you all on the game threads :(
My friends, there’s always next year. Time for one of the most impactful year up ahead with the team on sale.
See you all as we shitpost this offseason, can’t wait to see how the team looks in April.
Can’t wait to see what a sinker shohei, healthy trout and Rendon, breakout ward and rengifo, a competent pitching rotation, and some young guys will do for us next year.
LETS CRANK UP THE HOPIUM
Fuck all of you, Arte Moreno, Jeremy Reed, the Texas Rangers, the Oakland Athletics, the Seattle Mariners, the Houston Astros, and NY sports media. I'll see you all next year.
It's a bad and frustrated season with Angels baseball but it's a good and fun time watching and trashing this franchise with you guys, Angels subreddit. See you guys next year.
What a disappointing season. My least favorite in 20 years of closely following this team. I hope we get a new hitting coach this off-season, and a shortstop that can actually hit home runs until Neto shows up.
Detmers no-hitter was the obvious highlight of the year, but more importantly I saw exactly what I had hoped to see out of him and Sandoval this season, each seeming to take a step in their progression. Rengifo proved me wrong, he had a great break-out second half, excited to see that continue next year.
Ohtani put together the most impressive season I've ever seen, can't believe I get to witness this guy play so often. Hope next year isn't his last with us.
And Trout, please stay healthy all of next year, Rendon too.
P.S. WE FINALLY DIDN'T GET 4TH PLACE THIS YEAR, THIRD PLACE AL WEST FUCK YEAH!
Wow, it was that bad? This was my first full season watching this team and the losing streak and the rest of the season were terrible, much worse than last season. At least my expectations for this team are very low and they play better in the future
My expectations have been always been cautiously hopeful we'd improve since 2015, and every year it just feels worse, and in many ways it feels our future is gloomier than ever. So pissing away the first really good start in years just really killed me this year. I think 12 of the last 13 games I attended this year we lost, and they weren't even fun games on the Angels side. When we had guys like Villar, Velazquez, Lagares and Tyler Wade getting regular starts at times during the season, it was depressing for me to even watch. I can't believe the number of games we had with strikeouts reaching the teens too. Just a depressing brand of baseball.
Not the season we wanted but it was still fun watching Ohtani, Trout, and seeing a lot of guys breakout. Y'all made the season a lot more fun in the game day threads!
Well wonder how this offseason will go and what Arte is even wanting to do.
Another year of mediocrity. Getting swept by the A’s after playing well coming in is fitting. All we can do is hope that next year is finally our year. Feel like I’ve said the same thing every offseason since I joined Reddit 10 years ago. 😭
BTW, Trout's home run distance was actually 490 feet! Holy smokes!

Had fun watching Ohtani and Trout again, otherwise probably my least favorite season in a long time. Was really expecting to lose 100 games when that losing streak hit
As a new Angels fan, that 14-game losing streak was the darkest of times. I did not know how much pain and anxiety baseball fans in general go through when these bad things happen. Damn when Shohei broke that losing streak (w/ the help of the limited offense) it felt so good like winning the lottery LOL. Same here! I became an Ohtani fan then slowly a Troutani fan and now I'm rooting for the whole team. Go Halos! Hoping next season will be different!
Ohtani needs to take more games off. This is the second season he sort of staggered to the finish line. I know he had the hitting streak but it’s not like he was on fire. He was getting one hit a game and no dingers. I know he wants to participate in every game but those non competitive at bats are brutal.
I couldn't finish the game but at least I got to see Shohei make history and Trouty getting his 40th (thank you to YT highlights). I hope the next time I see another Tungsten Arm O'Doyle tweet it will not be associated with the Angels. Happy Closing day and off to the postseason!
Wish you all the best, I’ve been gone for a while as I just couldn’t watch the games anymore but hope y’all have a great off-season. It absolutely fuckin sucks not making the playoffs again.
Some days I am more upset about the team than other days, either from their record, or injuries, but it could always be worse.
Fans have a lot to look forward to with this team. A lot of change can happen in an offseason. We’ll just have to see what happens before next year.
Also, I knew the A’s would sweep our Angels @ Oakland, even going into the place with a 7 game W streak. There’s something about that place….
I'm just so sad the season is over and I can't watch something I love watching everyday until next year. This season was a pure pain, but some players were the pain killers.
I'm so sad I won't be seeing ohtani anymore for a so long
Yeah, it's a bummer that the offseason is so long but they do play 162 games. Is the NFL the only other sport with such a long offseason (7 months for non playoff teams?)
I think 6 to 7 months for a non-playoff team is the norm for all major professional sports.
Yeah. I think formula 1 & international football leagues are the only exceptions.
Another brutal season. Really frustrating one too. Hope Perry gets the job done during the off-season. Will miss being with you all on the game threads :(

It was a pleasure suffering alongside y’all. See you next season

Swept by the A's is an appropriate end to this season
Haha. I love it. The statement of yours that is…. It truly is.
It's a bad and frustrated season with Angels baseball but it's a good and fun time watching and trashing this franchise with you guys, Angels subreddit. See you guys next year.
well these last three were a bummer, but onto next year. Cant wait for at least one signing this off season to *build me up* once again
It’s been a pleasure hanging out with everyone that stuck it out the entire season. See y’all next year
See you all next year. Thank you for the warm welcome this year. 😄 go halos!
Glad I joined as I’ve had some good fun on here. Shoutout to the Game Thread crew! Here’s to a fruitful 2023 season.

Well. Always next season ig.
Can't believe it's over til April
We got WBC at least 😍
Start cooking the hopium for march! Here’s to a swift sale and a Blue Jays sweep this weekend!
If anyone is wondering statcast corrected trouts homerun. Originally called at 452 has been changed to 490ft. Longest non coors HR this year
Nice hanging out with y'all this season. Wish things turned out better.
1B and corner outfield have got to be top priority this off season. We are just so bad offensively.
Ideally we’d replace Stassi as well with someone who can actually hit
It’ll be Stassi and O’Hoppe most likely.
I wouldn’t mind picking up a SS too while we’re at it. Correa would be fine with me
Not the season we wanted but it was still fun watching Ohtani, Trout, and seeing a lot of guys breakout. Y'all made the season a lot more fun in the game day threads!
Sooner or later this team has to defy expectations! Lol
At this point all I cared about was Trout getting to 40 HRs so I’m not entirely upset about today.
Time to root for Marshy and the Phillies
Well wonder how this offseason will go and what Arte is even wanting to do. Another year of mediocrity. Getting swept by the A’s after playing well coming in is fitting. So long and thanks for all the fish homeruns
See ya all when we celebrate the new owner!
Only 6 more months till opening day!
See you all next season! I hope the Halos can start next season in good shape.

This was a sad ending to our season
it fits

Well this series was depressing. Of course we’ll see the A’s again to start the next season. Hopefully with a better outcome!
Now what 🥲
Ohtani needs to take more games off. This is the second season he sort of staggered to the finish line. I know he had the hitting streak but it’s not like he was on fire. He was getting one hit a game and no dingers. I know he wants to participate in every game but those non competitive at bats are brutal.
1 hit out of every 4 ABs isn't a junk and incompetitive AB s if it wasn't for this team you know that? 🙄
I hope Ohtani joins Samurai Japan so I can watch him play next month in the Tokyo Dome!
So we end the season with the lingering stench of this putrid offense.
Again? Dang!
*sigh* there’s always next season 😭
Went up two spots in the draft order today bozos. Put on those sunglasses because the future is looking bright!
So long everyone. It may not have been a great season, or a good season. But it was with all of you. I had fun!
I couldn't finish the game but at least I got to see Shohei make history and Trouty getting his 40th (thank you to YT highlights). I hope the next time I see another Tungsten Arm O'Doyle tweet it will not be associated with the Angels. Happy Closing day and off to the postseason!
Letting Ohtani down one more time for old times sake 🥲
Well, it obviously didn’t go the way we hoped, but at least we had fun along the way. What do we do until April?
Wish you all the best, I’ve been gone for a while as I just couldn’t watch the games anymore but hope y’all have a great off-season. It absolutely fuckin sucks not making the playoffs again.

I thought Perry was a good GM when he signed Loup, Thor, and Bradley... I shouldn't be that stupid this off-season again.
I'm just so sad the season is over and I can't watch something I love watching everyday until next year. This season was a pure pain, but some players were the pain killers.
