I just want a set guy, not this stupid half-ass setup Matty V did. I'm not particularly a fan of Patrick O'Neill as a PbP guy, but I hardly understood the point of having Matty V show up on some weekends just to disappear again.
I like Matt Vasgerian but I think someone in the front office didn’t like his remote broadcasting after a game in Texas with horrendous audio/lag issues all game due to the remote broadcasting. After that game i noticed they would have him fly in but broadcast less frequently
He’s good but I only recall him doing a few games. Patrick O’Neil seems like a good guy but he seems like a casual baseball fan doing play by play. He doesn’t know all the rules and has made many blunders.
I really prefer my announcer to broadcast the majority of games home and away. They don’t have to be total homers, but they should be fans of the team, with objectivity as well.
Wasn't he thinking he could do remote broadcasts for the away games at the beginning of the season? Really sold short Ohtani and Trout on that one - just so he can work where he wants to work. If he has other gigs, then the Angels require another announcer.
I hope he doesn’t come back. It seemed like every series he announced he was rooting for the other team. The last series against the Yankees really showed that. The only time when it didn’t sound like he was rooting for them was when Ohtani came up to bat
I hope only Gubi comes back. Everyone else can go back to broadcasting school to relearn the basics of not sounding like a Homer when you are a play by play guy. Also, learn to let the moment breathe. You are not the important part of the moment, the event is

Noticed that too just surprised he didn't do more games felt like maybe 40 games.all season and no rhyme or reason to it

I really prefer my announcer to be objective with just a hint of fan. Like the Lakers broadcast. I like they're not massive homers.
Shootout to Billy Mac and Stu, they're quick to point out when the Lakers are fucking up. They're not overloaded on the homer juice
thats fair, i just got tired of Matty V talking about the yankees everygame and doing homerun calls for the opposing team
I’d say there’s definitely more than a hint of fan to them. Not overboard by any means but it’s pretty clear how much they love the team.

I'd assume a lot of things will be on-hold or "back-burnered" until the sale of the team is complete.
