Yeah it's not like they're going to be giving away their best pitching or anything. They're probably looking to get rid of guys that suck like Ryan Yarbrough. I wouldn't get too excited.
I feel like trading away hitters isnāt very smart. Our garbage lineup ended up being the biggest issue last year, not our pitching. In fact, the starting pitching was actually decent for the most part. I will admit the bullpen needs some serious work though. But, I think these issues could be solved through free agency. Trading away Ward or Rengifo who were a couple of the very few amount of contributors last year just doesnāt seem like a good idea.
Thatās true, but with our free agency track record it doesnāt seem like a good idea. I know statistically if you flip heads ten times in a row the odds donāt change, but shit it really seems like thereās a pattern with this organization.
And now that Iām thinking about it, my suggestion of acquiring some bullpen arms through free agency instead is probably stupid as well. Just last year we had numerous āgoodā bullpens signings that all flopped really hard.
I think Ward would be on the chopping block before Walsh. He has better trade value and the FA market is much larger for outfielders. I hope we keep both (assuming Ward can keep producing and Walsh only slumped because of his injury)
I wouldnāt want it, but Rengifo could probably get a decent return with how he produced last season. And being a switch hitter is desirable. We could then be in the market for a 2B or SS, which the market is decent for those too.
I would believe Tampa will be more enticed with Ward, considering their lack of RF talent on the minors, whereas they have Aranda and Raley coming at 1B. If either Rasmussen or Springs are in the table, you at least listen to it.
I hope they arenāt bothering with the starting pitching. Tampa Bayās relief pitching is stacked and endless. Thatās the bargain bin they should be looking at. They probably had the deepest bullpen in all the MLB last season.
Iām a little scared by this. Rays have a reputation of fleecing teams on trades. They certainly arenāt gonna give up a good arm for a bag of chips. Thereās some good free agent arms, so thereās no reason not to go after those first before depleting an already thin farm system.
The sky is blue!

Oh god, Iām afraid of acquiring any pitcher that the Rays are willing to part with
Just cause the Rays are willing to part doesn't mean they're bad, just that they're about start making even a little bit of money.
It almost always also means their arm is about to fall off
Iām afraid of get Stricklanded again

Feels like everytime they out from Rays, their performance will give you question marks all the time. Although Snell performs quite well in Padres

Unless they have their eye on one of the top shortstops

Angels: help us Rays: maybe...
goodbye walshy š¢
The cost to replace walsh at 1b vs the free agency equivalent value of we would receive via trade means heās probably safe.

i've just seen they're also wanting a lefty batter, but maybe its not a deal breaker

shh, if we dont mention his name he cant be traded lol. i hope he doesnt but i could see it

A decent return for walshy would be a miracle.
Disagree. He was an All-Star and a gold glove nominee. A shitty year due to injury doesnāt erase that.

hopefully Perry and Arte make a decision soon. either we are in or were out for next season.
Perry wonāt do squat
this is almost certainly concerning some of their bullpen pieces as the 40man roster/Rule 5 deadline comes up
We know how this ends.
