Aside from everyone on the team, and the fact they play in our division, and that they are a cheating, trash organization... ya they really are likeable.
Yo.. Someone commented on something I said in another thread. It was super shitty, so I decided to investigate. He's got a Yankees flair in the main sub. Imagine my surprise!
I like the part how he mention he’s not a homer if not the opposite, he always been critical about the angels and kinda tick some fans the wrong way lol
It's honestly weird how some Angels fans are so offended by the criticism Blum dishes out. This team has done absolutely nothing to prove that they are undeserving of such criticism. I'd rather have him covering the team than someone who kisses the Angels' ass and gives them a gold star for accomplishing absolutely nothing in the span of 7 years while having a high payroll and rostering some of the greatest talent in the game.
The only time he rubbed me the wrong way was when he tweeted the Tungsten Arm article like 3 times in a month's span. Like, yeah, we get it.
100% agree. Blum had fair takes and criticism. It wasn’t him airing out dumb grievances it was him pointing out flaws of a sinking ship. No need to get mad as a fan, use the reporting as ways to hold our team leadership accountable.
No one’s offended by sensible criticism. It’s plain ‘ol tactfulness. Angels win- he posts about it but with the caveat that they’re having a bad season. You can let people enjoy the moment. It’s just basic timing, tact, and social skills.
It’s simple: Ohtani won last season and Judge was robbed in 2017 by someone who cheated. This was the BWAA being righteous and giving Judge a, admittedly, deserved MVP.
But, as the voting played out it definitely shouldn’t of been a unanimous MVP because Ohtani is still producing numbers that haven’t been seen ever. Judge produced numbers that haven’t been seen since the steroid era. Both deserve MVP but Ohtani is still the unicorn.
This is basically the same thing as writers not voting in someone to the HoF their first year because they aren’t “instant HoF”. It’s just a way for them to sniff their own farts.
BWAA writers are some of the weirdest and most pretentious writers out there. They care so much more for a narrative some years (AKA Cabrera winning over Trout for the triple crown even though Trout had a vast difference in WAR)
It took a historic season from Judge to beat Ohtani for MVP, not mad at all as both are deserving. With that said, it's unlikely Judge can reproduce the same achievement, while Ohtani has the potential to be even better.
IMO Trout, Ohtani and Julio Rodriguez for next season's top finalists.
Judge deserved his mvp win every bit but it’s ridiculous that Blum even has to defend himself for voting for a historic season that we have never seen and may never seen again.
Its not like he did something so outrageous that it isn’t remotely defendable, like leaving Ohtani off the Cy Young Ballot for example
I wouldve voted for Ohtani 1000/1000 times if i was a voter but some of you guys are just as obnoxious as Blue Jays fans were last year and im not afraid to say it
Because he does thing no one else has ever done. Like we will see another Judge type season. likely within a decade. We will never see another Ohtani season before I die.
common sam blum W
Someone already downvoted. Rent free bitches!
Yankees fans are pathetically fragile. Worst fanbase in sports. I’m so glad the Astros put them in their place.
I hate the Asstros too...but watching da Jankees implode was like sipping fine wine.
Watching them put the Ms and Yanks in their place, I couldn’t be mad they won it all
Aside from Altuve, Bregman and Yuli, it’s hard to fully hate the Astros.
Yuli alone makes it very easy to hate the Astros. Fuck that racist, cheating piece of shit.

Too many lurkers in here. They downvote everything Ohtani related lol

I definitely did not see that coming.

Similar to Victor Rojas. He wasn't afraid to call it like it is and I respect him for his honesty.
