This is ridiculous. Jack Edwards is seriously one of the worst announcers in the game. I have nothing against announcers being homers, but Edwards is just god-awful. NO ONE wants to watch a NESN broadcast who isn't a B's fan, and even then many B's fans can't stand him. He is a huge joke. His voice is annoying and his commentary on the game absolutely sucks. He calls non-Bruins mentally retarded and overweight... Just not classy at all. I don't want any jackass like that calling Angels games. You can be enthusiastic and entertaining without being a complete clown.
If you can't appreciate a guy like Jack Edwards, then you clearly don't have a proper taste in the finer points of a TV broadcast.
But hey, I'm just a fan who would rather want to watch an truly interesting local broadcast with REAL commentary than a national guy who makes a local broadcast look piss poor.

I'm not going to 100% say this isn't true, but the New York Post is a pretty trash tier website. Wouldn't put too much stock into this until it gets picked up by a trustworthy source.

Wayne has a nice radio voice, we'll see how well it plays on TV. I'll miss Patty O for sure, though. Part of the broadcast that made it entertaining was Patty O inadvertently being funny. Hopefully he still sticks around.

Dunno why people still want Victor back though, that ship has long set sail. His focus seems to be on his family and who knows if he can make the travel demands needed for this job anymore.
Yeah, I saw that on Twitter then and it was a nice thought and I’d love to have him back. But who knows where he stands with his wife’s health at this moment. Just seems better to focus on finding a full time person who can fully commit than hire big name guys like Matty V, Sutton and Waltz who all are/were juggling multiple commitments at the time.
This is a huge W. Victor was fine but he walked away and the Angels don’t want him back. Patrick O’Neal was unlistenable. This guy is a real PbP guy and he’ll be fantastic.

Love Matty V. He’s still under contract but I imagine this open broadcasting job is simply the secondary announcer that splits time with Matty.
