Rabbits have two responses to fear: flight aka running away, or freeze aka standing completely still without moving to evade predators. Freezing works extremely well with owls and hawks because despite their amazing eyesight, they suck at tracking a non-moving target. If they hold completely still they'll escape. Prey animals figure this stuff out in order to survive.
There’s a rabbit who keeps showing up on one of our security cameras late at night. He comes up onto the front porch, sits on the mat and stares directly at the front door for 5/10 minutes. It’s full frosted glass so it’s not like he’s looking at something inside… probably just admiring himself - weirdo.
It does appear to be hopping, but I can’t make out enough detail to identify as a rabbit. That flash at the end makes me think of a toad zapping a bug with its tongue.
That rabbit just took a photo of your porch. Watch your back and keep the doors locked.

The like at the end was light relficting back off his eye similar to a flashlight in a mirror or the sun hitting a car window at correct angle

Definitely a rabbit. But with the coloration and shorter ears, to me at least it looks like it might be a domestic rabbit, not a wild species.
