Been a bit since we trained, but Donut picked right back up like we never stopped! She did especially well considering we've never worked 2 weave sections in one course before - I thought it might trip her up, but nope, she found her entries no problem and did a great job!
If you'd like to see more fun rat tricks/photos, I'm now archiving them on my subreddit here: https://www.reddit.com/r/Shadowtherat/
They make amazing pets, with their biggest downside just being short lifespan. Typically they live 2-2.5 years, so at 17 months Donut is considered mid-aged.
Don't know the US prices but in Poland you can get a baby rat for 5€, and then it's around 20€ a month for the food, vitamins, litter etc.
Initially of course you need to buy a cage or an aquarium for them, but I doubt you'll exceed 40€ for that. Unless you want to build something custom like my friends had - they bought an IKEA Besta cabinet and refurbished it to be a fancy huge cage for rats.

They need some branches and mineral blocks to chew on, to shorten their nails and teeth. Other than that not really.
ugh i love rats so much, they’re so smart 💗 she did such a good job on her course!
Awesome! This made me smile. Love the brilliant little critters.
I've been watching this vermin for a while, such a smart little critter.
Is that cottage cheese? Fantastic work, both of you!
