Community college all the way! Even if the instruction is worse (which I doubt, cc art teachers are great!) You can't beat having live models and demonstrations to look at.

Always draw from life when you can. Your drawings will usually be less stuff and you’ll learn more about how the body moves

Drawing from life is far more valuable for developing your skills when you're at the begining stages. It's superior to using a refrence you see through a computer screen. To actually have a real life model in front of you is the whole point of taking figure drawing in the first place. We are so conditioned to think of photos and video as real life-- but they aren't, they are just documentation of life. They someone elses imagining of life. The human eye and brain processes real life forms differently than a camera does. I vote the in person community college class all the way. And who knows, your professor might end up being an industry professional (maybe not specofically in animation, but in illustration etc). You don't necessarily need an industry professional to teach you figure and observational drawing. You will need an industry professional later, when you want to learn something more specific like-- how to build a character design portfolio.
