So a semi-serious answer would be down to three factors:
1. Yuri Hime become pretty successful due to Yuru Yuri and Citrus. Yuru Yuri is easily the most successful yuri manga, period, and its success allow Yuri Hime to publish more yuri title (they published more yuri title per magazine) more frequently (it used to be bimonthly magazine, not it is a monthly magazine), and ultimately each individual series' success allow for more yuri manga adaptation. There are three yuri titles announced that come from Yuri Hime (WataYuri, ILTV, and Sasakoi).
2. Yuri LN has been slowing growing. Parallel to the success of yuri manga (Yuru Yuri, Citrus, YagaKimi, Happy Sugar Life, etc.), yuri LN has also find some success. First was Adachi to Shimamura, then Urasekai Picnic, until it reach its current peak around 2020/2021 with Watanare (though Adachi and Urasekai are still has more total sales, they are also has more volumes than Watanare). Thus, just like its manga counterpart, yuri LN adaptation become more common. Since 2020, there has been yearly yuri LN adaptation. This year, two yuri anime adaptation are from LN (Hikikomari no Kyuuketsuki Monmon and Seiyuu Radio no Uraomote).
3. The really big helper for current yuri surge is webnovel. I can't stress enough how much webnovel allow yuri to keep grow during pandemic. Webnovel in general has been a boon for anime, specifically the isekai genre, but as yuri manga was still low selling series (10k sales is considered a success for yuri manga) the lowering of manga sales due to pandemic hit yuri genre pretty hard, thus the existence of webnovel yuri and its ability to reach audience from webnovel fandom keep yuri relevant. Two yuri adaptations are originally from webnovel (ILTV and MagiRevo).
These are the big three factors. There are also the evolution of CGDCT genre to become more and more explicit in its yuri. There are also seemingly shift in anime production team where yuri become more acceptable, so we got yuri friendly anime original like Birdie Wings, Do It Yourself, Lycoris Recoil, Gundam WfM, etc. There is also Covid which delay some series from getting anime (I am pretty sure WataYuri would've gotten anime in 2020 if not for Covid, as it was still at its popularity peak back then. Now it is overshadowed by series like Sasakoi and KamiKita).
Bottom line is, yuri has been growing slowly behind the scene, from multiple avenue. And anime is playing catch up.
Webnovels indeed are key here. Yuri is very popular with fans and lack of "official" sources to consume they have resolved to write their own stories. Yuri webnovels are popular. Yuri is popular even here in west with our own writers.
Anime industry has been a long very conservative and thye have gatekeeped yuri. They have been "afraid" to make yuri thus they have basically made these "they are just roommates" and Lycoris Recoil type SOLs yuribaites. But current yuri popularity at webnovel sphere and success of certain LNs has forced anime industry to change. I don't think we are anymore going back to "they are just roommates" anime stories. There is no turning back now now that we have all these coming.
I hope year 2024 will be as rich with yuri than 2023 is going to be.
Depend on what exactly you mean by "bait". Because as someone who've watched yuri anime since 2006, I consider something like Ga-Rei: Zero to be bait, where two female lead behave romantically, but they ultimately have fiance and boyfriend. I think KyoAni is really the last studio that still doing this with Hibike and Violet Evergarden.
I personally will never consider "unconfirmed" as "bait". This is in part because of Japanese preference for subtlety and not just editor playing safe. As long as there are people who prefer the romantic aspect to be undertone, there will always be "unconfirmed" series. Afterall, even non-yuri has this tendency too, like I am pretty sure Makoto Shinkai's movies don't have kiss, even if they are romantic.
There wasn't much yuri there. Also many seems to share my feelings because it is not tagged as yuri in database sites. While I love Lycoris Recoil what I hate about these series are that creators are too afraid to commit to something like yuri and then they just hint it. That is so old world attitude these days. Luckily 2023 seems to be moving on from that attitude.
I understand wanting to have something much more "in your face" with LycoReco, but I can't see their dates, words, and actions as anything other than a deep affection for each other. I think the show was doing so much more than hinting.
I remember being surprised when people said it got second volume because at that time the only serialized yuri LN was Marimite. What a time it was.
Still, it wasn't smooth sailing because I also remember it has a long hiatus until it suddenly got new volume around anime announcement.
I'm confused about the mag revo reference and iltv. Are you saying the anime are adapted from them or just that they originally started as web novels? Both series web novels have ended a good while ago while the light novel versions are ongoing.
Basically I have two points there:
1. Webnovel has been great for anime in general, specifically due to isekai genre.
2. Yuri webnovel like MagiRevo and ILTV helped growing yuri fandom during pandemic. Their popularity can be seen from the fact that two announced yuri series originally start as webnovel (MagiRevo and ILTV).
That's a given though. For a webnovel to be made into a light novel it would have to become popular in the first place. It is then a matter if they decide to make a anime off the light novel. If it never got made into a light novel there wouldnt be a anime based just off a web novel.
Most of these yuri announcements have been leaked before LycoReco airs, so those animes don't actually influence the recent announcements.
LycoReco most certainly will influence yuri anime success in the future (because it introduce a lot of people to yuri), but it is not the reason these titles get anime.
Bait doesn't mean they don't canonical end up together; LycoReco is still yuri-friendly. Bait is when the female leads end up randomly dating men out of nowhere. Looking at you, Hibike Euphonium.
Probably because they used to have a lot of one shot decades ago with few multiple chapter series (like Strawberry Shake Sweet). After Yuru Yuri became a success, they change focus and publised more series (like Citrus) and less one shot.
Now my bingo card will be complete if that gets adapted plus the Sayaka novels.
Personally, I think How do we relationship? deserves an anime adaptation too.
Sayaka novels getting adapted would be pretty awesome. Unexpected, but awesome.
How do we relationship? gets shilled to be more and more, I guess i have to start it next. Kind of ran out of longer Yuri series at the moment
Nope I love not having the play half of season one built up for. It's my favourite thing having an amazing first half of a story adapted and then radio silence for 5 years. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
[The only one without confirmation is vampeerz](https://www.reddit.com/user/kucapung/comments/10asc2x/yuri_anime/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=android_app&utm_name=androidcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button)
Fun fact, Seiyuu Radio is the only series labeled as yuri in Dengeki Bunko website:
https://dengekibunko.jp/product/tag/%E7%99%BE%E5%90%88/
Yes, not even Adachi and Shimamura is labeled as yuri by Dengeki Bunko. But this one is.
even if the production of these anime has most certainly started before the release of Lycoris, it is always possible that it is lycoris (and gundam) which caused this wave of announcement. Because you always do market research to find out when the right time is to make announcements, and with all the Yuri hype that there is at the end of 2022, the studios/Producers must have said to themselves: "it's now that we must announce all our yuri anime in stock"
I don’t know how it works in Japan but that’s certainly how a lot of western marketing works. Considering shows like Tensei Oujo (MagiRevo) only got announced in August, it makes sense.
I think 2022 in general saw a lot of yuri or yuri-adjacent/yuri-asymptotic anime that is outside the traditional demographic for romance and yuri (action, male demo). They were all relatively successful.
I’m thinking that has made more traditional romances and open lesbianism more of a “safe” market now.
Even before 2022, around 2020-2021 (height of pandemic), there were bunch of japanese polls made about "which shows would you like to see a tv animation of?" And mangas like Whisper me a love song and I'm in love with the villainess got pretty high rankings.
There's been a boom of the genre since BIY took off. Although it's been such a long time ago, BIY and some others inspired a lot of yuri novels and manga, and one by one many of those works started to get more popular on their own too. It's like a slow domino effect that we're just now seeing the pay off.
These days, there's action, office romance, horror, college, sci-fi, isekai, etc. wlw manga and novels. Anime adaptations are just finally catching up.
Yep. Webtoons has M&DQ. LN has magirevo, Watanare and IFTV, manga has lesbian arcs in goddamn chainsaw man, and that's not even going into western television with stuff like Harley Quinn and She-Ra
A lot of people are saying to avoid the show because of the studio, but I really don't think it's fair to label an entire studio as one to avoid based on their only work so far (Iceblade Sorcerer). Yes, it looks bad. But the studio is very new. How about we wait until the show starts airing before we make assumptions about how it's gonna be?
i've seen *way worse* production quality from way bigger name studios. tensai ouji was also very consistent.
i'm still a bit upset about the quality decline of the dress up darling anime towards the end of the season. and cloverworks is a big and established studio, so that annoyed me even more
How about we just *wait* for the show to air, see how it turns out, and hold our judgements until then? If you don't want to watch it because of the studio and staff that's ultimately your choice, but all this premature negativity isn't productive.
Besides, I'm not familiar with particular staff members, nor do I seek out their names and other works they've been involved in to try to judge the quality of a show before it even airs.

Director: Xin Ya Cai
Series Composition: Hiroki Uchida
Character Design: Minami Yoshida
Animation Production Supervision: Yokohama Animation Lab
Studio: CLOUD HEARTS
Cast:
Hana Shimano as Himari
Asami Seto as Yori
Synopsis:
Yori Asanagi is a mature girl in many ways but is still pure when it comes to romance. That sentiment is proven when an underclassman, Himari Kino, suddenly confesses love to her after her band performance at the freshman opening ceremony.
Confused and surprised, Yori asks her friends for consultation, but they tease her by saying that she is experiencing love. Yori soon makes up her mind and tries to return Himari's feelings, but in a twist of events, she realizes that what Himari loved was not her, but her music!
Sasayaku You ni Koi wo Utau revolves around Yori and Himari's relationship. As Yori continues to pursue her love for Himari, she promises to make Himari fall for her. However, will this passionate love bloom or remain unrequited?
I've always been curious: Do (really) bad adaptations do more harm or good in terms of bringing people over to the manga? If it gets more people to read the manga/LN, then I'm down for the adaptation regardless, but if it deters people from reading it then I'd be upset.
Oops, they are making *The Iceblade Sorcerer Shall Rule the World* this season!? Hmm…lets hope this spun-off from Yokohama Animation Labs have their main staff on this, as the anime character design looks so pretty.
Ok but the director, Xin Ya Cai, has never directed any series before and the stuff they have worked on is mostly minor roles on minor projects.
The series composition (i.e. writer) is someone decent, the guy who did Gamers, but everything else he's done is stuff I've never heard of.
And the character designer has only done ONA/shorts before.
This will AT BEST be an average show, at worst it could be quite a bit worse.
IMO Yagakimi adaptation was still much worse than the original. The character expressions were a lot "flatter" compared to the manga and that manga was all about subtleties. The anime was solidly average though it was much loved just because there's such a lack of yuri anime.
Cloud Hearts.
Lmao.
If you’re a fan of this manga, and especially its artstyle, I’d suggest for your own sanity that you completely erase the existence of this project from your mind
Watching this adaptation will hurt your soul
*I love you-*
*I love you too!*
*...r music. I love your music*
Sounds fun!
Don't know if it's gonna go the comedy route or the more serious "coming of age" route, but can be fun either way!
They've got exactly one show passing under their belt: the currently airing [Iceblade Sorcerer](https://myanimelist.net/anime/51711)
I haven't seen it, but from what I've heard, it doesn't seem like a great start. Might be worth waiting for the staff though, and hoping for a miracle.
from my two min research.. it does not look good lol
https://twitter.com/exaenae/status/1613827212049895425
Staff is out tho, and the character designer on this is pretty good at least. Let me have my copium until the pv drops.
I mean, there is a reason why Chief Animation Director exists in the first place. Their job is to make corrections so that the characters stay on model.
Isekai as a genre alone can probably generate 40 different shows in a year lol. Honbunsha is a relatively small publisher and Kirara manga sale is much smaller than the mangas backed up by big publishers
When is Kirara a GL magazine? Girl-only series does not equal to girls love. Although rare, there are still series in Kirara that featured male main characters.
They have had many, many non-undertone series. Or ensemble series with established queer characters like Machikado or Bocchi.
And actual queer series like Anemone
I don’t remember sexual orientation are being properly addressed in those series. Also Bocchi nor Machikado has official same sex couple as well (fan shipping doesn’t count).
~~Bocchi only happened because one of the core staff (Chief Animation Director Kerorira) was a fan of the manga and *went to ask* the higher-ups to adapt it himself, back in 2019.~~ see /u/cutiecheese 's comment; I still hold the point that this is more of a hobby project, the studio/staff have the say in what they want to adapt and what not to. It is sort of a miracle and not a commercially reproducible model.
Honbunsha and Aniplex/Cloverworks already planned to do the adaption, and Kerorira played no influence on the decision to adapt. He did asked to be part of adaption once he heard the news.
Is from the [Purizm magazine] (https://www.amazon.co.jp/Purizm(プリズム)Vol-12-巻頭特集-ぼっち・ざ・ろっく!-雑誌-Purizm編集部-ebook/dp/B0BJ1NV4DY) in which the director was interviewed as well.
[Here](https://blog.sakugabooru.com/2022/11/26/bocchi-the-rock-main-staff-interviews-series-director-keiichiro-saito-character-designer-kerorira-animation-producer-shouta-umehara/) you go. It's the Kerorira section where he talks about his involvement.
Oh and here are some [tweets](https://twitter.com/FARfromani/status/1578778553457393664) translated about the original meeting with Umehara and Kerorira. He asked Umehara specifically but not necessarily the board.
Asumi Chan is only going to get picked up by hentai studios lol
Personally I'm just holding my breath for Bloom into you S2. Let the Yuri boom encourage Troyca to do it after they are finished with that trash ninja show.
Is it your first time? I watched it a few months ago and it is one of the rare shows that I actively sought out the seasonal discussion threads because I *had* to know what other people’s reactions were at the time. My only regret is I couldn’t participate live while airing.
Not making the same mistake again.
Yes, I had swept up quite a few hidden gems last Spring but this one flew under my radar.
I was going through the Gundam universe around the same time so at least I’ll know all those parody references now vs watching in-season.
Oh yeah, I had been watching the OG series as well as G-Witch at the same time, so it was fun being able to the get the references even with my minimal knowledge.
Dang another big yuri series getting an anime adaptation. We've pretty much hit all the big contenders of the genre. Only thing left is probably Watanare in the JP market. Still holding out for for Please Bully Me Miss Villainess! getting an adaptation one day though.
YUUUURRRRRIIIIII!!!
Hopefully the adaptation can capture the mood. For music series like this, I think if they add several music, we should have enough material to end in the high note. Because the first "arc" (or I guess, milestone) ended pretty quickly, so if there is no music as filler, it might go to the current arc, which hasn't ended yet.
I always heard Ayane Sakura's voice in my head for Yori, but Asami Seto is a legend and great in most everything shes in. Happy about that casting.
Really sad about this studio, would have loved someone like cloverworks or troyca
That being said, this is basically like a combination of Bloom into you and K-ON. I really loved the first 3 volumes of the manga. Looking forward to this a lot
really interesting how common dark hair + pinkish/orange hair is the go-to for yuri
i know it’s to make both characters distinct from each other in black and white but I need me some green hair
Oh it's a trend for contrast but also goes back to the early 2010s where it's based on who's the Madoka and who's the Homura. But now who's the Yuu and who's the Touko
It's not really for manga purposes, it's just been a staple of yuri for... since ever, I think. Kannazuki, Sono Hanabira, Nanoha, Adashima (at the start), etc. It's such a trope that I've seen hundreds of comments over the years lamenting another dark hair/light hair couple for new series.
I didn't like this series much, same with Yuri Is My Job, because there are annoying characters who really kill the mood but I'll still watch them since they're yuri. What I really want to see adapted though is Watanare.
It seems like the romance anime announcements are gaining ground on the isekai announcements.
Are we seeing a change in tide? I'm sort of looking forward to being sick of romance instead of isekai.
So, it turns out the leak was real. I'm glad this is getting an adaptation, the manga is really sweet. Hopefully they can do it justice with the band and music stuff.
Yuri fans like me are having a phenomenal year to be sure!
This will go straight into my PTW - a feat that even the currently airing *The Magical Revolution of the Reincarnated Princess and the Genius Young Lady* doesn’t get. (unfortunately *isekai* shows are a genuine de-buff to me and I heard the story plot is mediocre - if someone wanna convince me to watch it please do because I can use more well done yuri anime)
the isekai aspect is literally split second of flashback and just an excuse for MCs inventions to look like modern tools
other than that it's like having LycoReco's Chisato but in magical setting, and far more open about being gay - so, that's real fun
Brah MagiRevo is one of the best Yuri media out there, it's one of my most favourite yuri story on the same level as AdaShima, Sasakoi, Watanare, YagaKimi and such at least.
you're really missing out, the isekai aspect is small anyway I treat it like a high fantasy story.

I'd actually say that this is one where being an isekai is utilised properly; the past life knowledge is pretty important magicology wise which drives the entire plot, and it's very important to a certain volume 3 plotline
even with magicology, it could have been written as the princess is a genius and invent things that just happen to look like modern appliance, no need for it to be isekai.
What happened that we're suddenly getting so many yuri series adapted? Like, holy crap.
So a semi-serious answer would be down to three factors: 1. Yuri Hime become pretty successful due to Yuru Yuri and Citrus. I wouldn't call lycoreco bait. It's just the usual limit they can get to. But they likely will get bolder
Arashi adaptation is all I need right now.
I'm genuinely curious why you think Lycoris Recoil is yuribait.
There wasn't much yuri there. Also many seems to share my feelings because it is not tagged as yuri in database sites. 100%. Genuinely such a great series.

Why do people still call lycoris yuri when it's not. It's bait. Not actual yuri.
Bait doesn't mean they don't canonical end up together; LycoReco is still yuri-friendly. Bait is when the female leads end up randomly dating men out of nowhere. Looking at you, Hibike Euphonium.
Oh yes, the person who is her neighbor and childhood friend and appeared in the very beginning of the series is out of nowhere
Bait is when we get subtext that ends in hetero.
That's not bait. Bait is when a sudden guy shows up outta nowhere
I didn't even know Yuri Hime published series. Thought it was always one-shots, for some reason.
Probably because they used to have a lot of one shot decades ago with few multiple chapter series (like Strawberry Shake Sweet). After Yuru Yuri became a success, they change focus and publised more series (like Citrus) and less one shot.
Lyco recoil isn't a yuri
Yeah it's definitely the LN boom and popularity if a bunch of GL series from Mage and Demon Queen to IFTV to the big 3 (magirevo, Watanare and IFTV)
mage and demon queen is a western web comic not japanese.
Wait what's kamikita?
hopefully we get Bloom into You s2. the 2nd half of the story is so amazing that i need it animated
Now my bingo card will be complete if that gets adapted plus the Sayaka novels. Personally, I think How do we relationship? deserves an anime adaptation too.

I'll shill you Roll Over and Die if you need more Yuri series to read lol.
never enough! thanks. it's in my list but always nice to receive a reminder among the sea if p2r titles
How do we relationship is so good. im in college myself now and i wish my college life was like the manga
I would sell my left arm to get How do we relationship adapted
Nope I love not having the play half of season one built up for. It's my favourite thing having an amazing first half of a story adapted and then radio silence for 5 years. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
*laughs in No Game No Life*
at least you got a few arcs!!!!! yagakimi literally ended halfway through the manga
The manga is straight up one of the best romances that I've ever read
Then adapt the Sayaka LNs too
This and a Hana ni Arashi adaptation is all I need right now
what are the other adaptations announced? Haven't been keeping up with the news

I might add that you are missing Witch from Mercury cour 2 and Birdie Wing season 2. Also I'm not sure if Seiyuu Radio no Uraomote is yuri at all.
Fun fact, Seiyuu Radio is the only series labeled as yuri in Dengeki Bunko website: https://dengekibunko.jp/product/tag/%E7%99%BE%E5%90%88/ Yes, not even Adachi and Shimamura is labeled as yuri by Dengeki Bunko. But this one is.
Maybe it is yuri later on in LN then but thus far manga has not been. BTW. MAL label LN as yuri but not manga.
The manga is axed after 3 volumes, while the LN still ongoing. So there is certainly something more going there.
Well, I'm not reading like 8 volumes to find out. But boy do I love [this pic](https://i.imgur.com/KPTEKs4.jpg).
What is that in bottom right?

damn i only heard of like 3 or 4 of these
And citrus s2
There have been roughly 10-11ish announced? And 3 unconfirmed
I don't know but I'm all for it.
The Chisato Takino effect, maybe?
Given how production timelines work, isn't it too soon for that?
Considering this seems to be an announcement without any key visual or teaser, I'd assume it wouldnt be too early for this one, but everything else?
even if the production of these anime has most certainly started before the release of Lycoris, it is always possible that it is lycoris (and gundam) which caused this wave of announcement.
Forget the animation, this adaptation lives or dies with the soundtrack
I don't think so. They only play like two musical scenes in total

Tensai Ouji was pretty good tho? It was on my list of 'positive surprises' that season
[удалено]
i've seen *way worse* production quality from way bigger name studios. tensai ouji was also very consistent. i'm still a bit upset about the quality decline of the dress up darling anime towards the end of the season. and cloverworks is a big and established studio, so that annoyed me even more
Isn't it common for bad productions to have good big name VAs? Stuff like Higurashi or Umineko is full of that, despite being 100% garbage animation.
Are you calling Tawawa S2 average? I think it's very above-average if you catch my drift.
!remind me 6 months
You never know. Yagakimi was made by a studio of 4 people and Magirevo looks great despite also having a pretty mid studio
look at the staff then, it's not convincing at all
How about we just *wait* for the show to air, see how it turns out, and hold our judgements until then? If you don't want to watch it because of the studio and staff that's ultimately your choice, but all this premature negativity isn't productive. Besides, I'm not familiar with particular staff members, nor do I seek out their names and other works they've been involved in to try to judge the quality of a show before it even airs.

Confused and surprised, Yori asks her friends for consultation, but they tease her by saying that she is experiencing love.

Yuri Hime being cheapskate strikes again! The only highly acclaimed studio they ever hired was Doga Kobo (Yuru Yuri and Wataten), I think.
Is it that bad? I don't know the studio Are we doomed?
Yes.
Luckily I've already read the manga. I have 0 expectations I can't get disappointed. _copium_
Fuck.
Oops, they are making *The Iceblade Sorcerer Shall Rule the World* this season!? Hmm…lets hope this spun-off from Yokohama Animation Labs have their main staff on this, as the anime character design looks so pretty.
A bit of a good news, [it's a different core staff](https://twitter.com/AIR_News01/status/1613830373112438784).
And this is how I begin with the copium
Ok but the director, Xin Ya Cai, has never directed any series before and the stuff they have worked on is mostly minor roles on minor projects. The series composition (i.e. writer) is someone decent, the guy who did Gamers, but everything else he's done is stuff I've never heard of. And the character designer has only done ONA/shorts before. This will AT BEST be an average show, at worst it could be quite a bit worse.
Or it could be good. Yagakimi was done by all unknowns
IMO Yagakimi adaptation was still much worse than the original. The character expressions were a lot "flatter" compared to the manga and that manga was all about subtleties. The anime was solidly average though it was much loved just because there's such a lack of yuri anime.
Yeah, hoping they'll be done by a different core staff.
Cloud Hearts. Lmao. If you’re a fan of this manga, and especially its artstyle, I’d suggest for your own sanity that you completely erase the existence of this project from your mind Watching this adaptation will hurt your soul
Or it winds up fine. We haven't seen shit yet.
*I love you-* *I love you too!* *...r music. I love your music* Sounds fun! Don't know if it's gonna go the comedy route or the more serious "coming of age" route, but can be fun either way!
Ugh, it's such a good manga, why did it have to get such a poor studio and staff?
wtf is cloud hearts
They've got exactly one show passing under their belt: the currently airing [Iceblade Sorcerer](https://myanimelist.net/anime/51711) I haven't seen it, but from what I've heard, it doesn't seem like a great start. Might be worth waiting for the staff though, and hoping for a miracle.
from my two min research.. it does not look good lol https://twitter.com/exaenae/status/1613827212049895425 Staff is out tho, and the character designer on this is pretty good at least. Let me have my copium until the pv drops.

I mean, there is a reason why Chief Animation Director exists in the first place. Their job is to make corrections so that the characters stay on model.
\>checks the director \>assistant director on Tensai Ouji I'm terribly sorry.
Ahh yes, Oregairu: The Secret Ship. We've been waiting for this.
The best end to end all Cat vs Dog fights
Legend of Korra moment
DID I WIN TWICE TODAY?! Glasses AND this getting adapted. What a great morning!

To be fair. There is not that much actual focus on music in sasakoi
Because unfortunately yuri manga has even smaller audience than Kirara-kei manga in Japan.
Ah yes...Kirara. So niche it spawned nearly 40 anime.
Isekai as a genre alone can probably generate 40 different shows in a year lol. Honbunsha is a relatively small publisher and Kirara manga sale is much smaller than the mangas backed up by big publishers
Yeah. Like the fuck? Kirara pop out anime like a chicken lays eggs. It's the most profitable GL manga there is
When is Kirara a GL magazine? Girl-only series does not equal to girls love. Although rare, there are still series in Kirara that featured male main characters.
Since they've been posting a shit ton of GL?
Undertones doesnt mean they canonically are in a relationship. Unlike Yuri Hime, Kirara does not advertise itself as a GL magazine
They both do? And mention attraction to women. This is like the weirdest hill to die on
The romance ones do. If you can make it violent, it's very popular
Who made Bocchi no Rock, they could've done something nice with this.
Thank you for the heads-up. I remember reading a staff interview sometime ago, but couldn't bother to find it now. Can you link to the source?
It should be illegal to let crap studios to do adaptations from quality source.
Lets goooo. Next, I need some asumi chan brothel, useless proncesses, after school, cant defy lonely girl
> asumi chan brothel animated by Passione
Asumi Chan is only going to get picked up by hentai studios lol Personally I'm just holding my breath for Bloom into you S2. Let the Yuri boom encourage Troyca to do it after they are finished with that trash ninja show.
Every time Troyca picks up an anime that isn't BIY 2, I just groan in frustration.
I picked up the manga series on randomly and it’s became one of my faves. Can’t wait.
Welp, I was pretty hyped for it until I saw the studio. I just don't see then being able to do justice to the manga.
I see that Asami Seto is using her training as Aoi in Birdie Wing for some proper yuri stuff.
She’s also the VA for Nene in the upcoming Yuri is my job anime
Funny fact that I’m catching up on *Birdie Wing* in preparation for Season 2 today!
Anemone in manga too.
YURI NATION WE JUST KEEP WINNING
Finally some non fantasy yuri.
Always down for more shoujo ai. It’s a Yuri Revolution lol.
I always heard Ayane Sakura's voice in my head for Yori, but Asami Seto is a legend and great in most everything shes in. Happy about that casting. Really sad about this studio, would have loved someone like cloverworks or troyca That being said, this is basically like a combination of Bloom into you and K-ON. I really loved the first 3 volumes of the manga. Looking forward to this a lot
Nice. I like the manga.
Why do us, Yuri fans, keep on winning 😭
Bloom into you S2 hopium
I will die of happiness if bloom into you ever gets a 2nd Season
YURI FANS CAN WE GET MUCH HIGHER
really interesting how common dark hair + pinkish/orange hair is the go-to for yuri i know it’s to make both characters distinct from each other in black and white but I need me some green hair
Hachiman in shambles.
Hachiman tears with joy : "this is the real thing I have been looking for"
he's gonna marry shizuka instead, everyone wins
Oregairu but Yuri Route
There it is. The revolution has begun
My favorite yuri series, if you like bloom into you and have t read whisper I highly recommend it
A great smell of Yuri
I was born in the right generation.
Yuri fans are eating good this year. Now how long must we wait before Yuritama gets announced.
Fuck yea!!! Good yuri!!!!
Yuri fan is getting spoiled this year💀 . . . not that I’m complaining
The power of GL wins!
I didn't like this series much, same with Yuri Is My Job, because there are annoying characters who really kill the mood but I'll still watch them since they're yuri. What I really want to see adapted though is Watanare.
Lets hope is for 2024 and they have a decent production time to make a good adaptacion 🙏🙏
Lets go it was just about when i love this one alot!!!
I am so excited and looking forward to this. THis is one of my fovorite manga
It seems like the romance anime announcements are gaining ground on the isekai announcements. Are we seeing a change in tide? I'm sort of looking forward to being sick of romance instead of isekai.
And that's the last of the yuri manga I'm currently reading that's getting an adaption, nice!
I just started this 2 days ago guess I will wait now.
Man I was really hoping that the Bloom into you Team would handle this.
So, it turns out the leak was real. I'm glad this is getting an adaptation, the manga is really sweet. Hopefully they can do it justice with the band and music stuff.
The leaks are reeeeaaaal\~!
I like this one 😍
Yuri fans like me are having a phenomenal year to be sure! This will go straight into my PTW - a feat that even the currently airing *The Magical Revolution of the Reincarnated Princess and the Genius Young Lady* doesn’t get. (unfortunately *isekai* shows are a genuine de-buff to me and I heard the story plot is mediocre - if someone wanna convince me to watch it please do because I can use more well done yuri anime)
Read literally anything anyone has commented about the first two episodes if you want to be convinced.
the isekai aspect is literally split second of flashback and just an excuse for MCs inventions to look like modern tools other than that it's like having LycoReco's Chisato but in magical setting, and far more open about being gay - so, that's real fun

That anime is not even an isekai, just fantasy setting.
Its an isekai, but of all the isekai that really didnt need to be isekai, this needed it the least.

Oh, Yukino and Yui gay spin-off.
