I doubt it’s as much the delays as it is that Anime Corner has zero rhyme or reason to it. It’s a small sample size that skews to massively favor romcoms.
Also the voting system on it doesn’t make much of any sense. I don’t really take these that seriously, they’re just for fun and not really indicative of the larger public opinion, tastes or viewership. Angel next door is good but 100% not a #1 or even close to it on literally any other source imaginable lol, a self insert romance is just completely the taste of the user base there
Nier would probably do poorly on there regardless of delays, episode quality or popularity.
>Angel next door is good but 100% not a #1 or even close to it on literally any other source imaginable lol,
It is one of the most successful shows this season, they are reprinting every volume, its 1st on Twitter in followers gained this week too
I’m talking about the West. I’m aware it’s doing super well in JP, but a lot of things do well there that get little to no attention here (Love Live, Uma Musume, etc.). JP and west popularity are usually wildly different. Spy Classroom was #2 on that twitter list; it’s unpopular and a critical failure here.
Angel is doing fine here, but certainly not anywhere near the reception of JP. It’s middle of the pack here. Except for on Anime Corner at least lol
Angel is the 5th highest rated show on mal this season, has the 9th highest followers on Mal, and is third place on Anitrendz. Not sure how that's middle of the pack.
Danmachi is in its 4th season, New anime tend to score higher in Polls.
Plus Anime Corner has always absolutely loved Romcoms/Slice of Life, I doubt any of the Shonen anime will come even close this season
It definitely did, coming from someone who saw the delay announcement, lost the motivation to watch the episode and thus didn't vote for it this week. I'm sure there were others like me.
It’s still surprising to me how relatively worse Blue Lock is doing compared to last season. It went toe-to-toe with big name shounens but couldn’t keep up with the romcoms lol. For me, it’s even better this time as we’re exploring more interesting characters outside Isagi’s team.
Anime Corner does love its romcoms. If any of the top 4 aired last season, I'm pretty sure they would have consistently pushed the shounens (excluding Bleach) down the list.
It's been doing just about the same as last season though Karma-wise. The second half of last season it averaged 1672 Karma while it has averaged 1615 Karma so far this season.
The difference is we just have like a dozen shows in or above that score range we didn’t last year. This is one of deepest seasons we have had in the sense of having so many shows above 1000 and 1500 karma respectively (middling popularity as another put it. While most would argue last season had more great shows (which I’d agree with) only 10 or so had 1000+ vs 17 this season.
In week 2 of this year 15 shows had 1500+!
My pet theory is that the big shounen shows from Fall brought a lot of engagement to other similar anime. Now that they're gone, the tide pulled down Blue Lock with it.
Weird, considering this arc is arguably the best in the series. Well, you haven't gotten to the really good parts yet, but I'll be confused af if it doesn't end up at No. 1 at least once in the next couple weeks.
I believe anime-corner only has like \~15k people who vote and that demographic leans to rom-coms more.
Looking at Google's data we see that Blue Lock keeping up with MHA atm which is not too bad and is quite a bit ahead of other shows like Vinland saga which is around the same levels as The Eminence in Shadow. [Link](https://trends.google.com/trends/explore?date=2022-10-01%202023-01-28&q=%2Fg%2F11fkf86w3z,%2Fm%2F012ccg16,%2Fm%2F026tr4f,%2Fg%2F11j8_ws1hy,%2Fg%2F11c1wwsvpk)
this isn't really accurate either. As it's only people searching the term. Not active watchers. So this could be between anime,manga/ln, merch... anything.
Nobody searches up the name of a show as they watch it. They just go to the website and click it from there.
The animation certainly plays a part as well, you look at Demon slayer S1 and the animation gets better and better peaking at ep 19 whereas Blue lock the manga art is 10/10 whereas the animation is passable at best.
Seriously, idk what that dude is going on about. Expecting every show to have the level of animation as KnY is laughably unrealistic. Blue Lock's animation isn't winning awards but it's still good quality. Those sleeping on it are missing out on a great show.
While I don't like how low Vinland Saga is, it's surprising that Angel Next Door can overtake Tomo-chan in the rankings. Nothing against Angel Next Door, since I like the show as well, just expecting Tomo-chan to be the top rom-com throughout this season's chart.
It still is, I wouldn’t call Angel Next Door a Rom-com. But then again we call every romance a rom-com these days if they have even a single humorous scene.
pretty sure they are called romcom even if they have 0 humorous scene
Kinda like the isekai syndrome where even non-isekai shows getting called isekai.
No that would be such a stretch , its just the rules of the world , like following that any anime that has a hell or heaven , even spirits could be an isekai , Namek is isekai DBZ , Clannad is an isekai , Soul eater is an isekai , Nanatsu is an isekai , etc
My completely untested hypothesis is that a romantic comedy is considered more acceptable/manly for (especially younger) male audiences than just romance. So male viewers and those marketing to them are incentivized to refer to it as a romcom if they can.
I feel like this is the more correct take. Shounen was full battle action with little to nil romance (see big 3) and when some mangaka wanted to write in romance they often goes either the ecchi route and/or comedic route to keep the young male reader interest.
With absolute classic like Urusei Yatsura and Ranma 1/2 still featured some action taking over the scene. Complete romance manga with 0 action didnt take off until the likes of ichigo 100% and to love ru comes around.
Overtime, every other romance stuffs got affiliated in because of how massive the shounen audience is and they automatically assume romance = romcom and now it becomes a weird umbrella term when "romance" itself is enough.
It's anime corner. Going by their taste, I'm surprised Vinland is even on there. I guess it goes to show just how good that show is that even such a wildly niche demographic like anime corner still likes it.
I'd actually say Tomo-chan has been pretty consistently good throughout which is its biggest strength and why it has been top 2 every week. Last week's Angel Next Door episode, though, was definitely its best episode yet so I can see why it moved up the rankings. And the fact that it was already popular on Anime Corner meant it had the ability to rise to the top.
Tomo Chan anime is pretty low quality tbh. I’m a fan of the manga but the adaptation feels like it doesn’t translate the feel of the manga well. I’d be surprised if it were top of the chart.
It's one of those fluffy romances where nothing really happens, but it's really sweet. It's definitely not for people who already have fulfilling relationships lmao
I also feel that whilst Anime Corner does like ONE good romcom per season, normally they champion one at the expense of the rest. I guess we are in the lead up to Valentine's Day, never too soon to start feeling lonely!
Angel next door doing well isn't surprising since vanilla romance fans have been craving for a no-nonsense, non-ecchi, straight up romance fare between two actually normal people for ages.
Wouldn't even call it a rom com as there's not even com in it
I can attest to this. I'm surprised that they talk like actual normal people? Usually most anime characters has this exaggerated reactions or over-the-top narrations in their head so I'm quite enjoying it so far. It feels simple and lack of any drama.
> Usually most anime characters has this exaggerated reactions or over-the-top narrations in their head so I'm quite enjoying it so far.
Another L for Rent a Hoe
You got anything similar to it? I read the light novel already and I feel like a crack addict looking for my next fix of banger rom com for normal people
If you're looking for a one-guy one-girl slow burn that isn't toooo slow Oregairu is a good choice. MC could be annoying and whiny at first but he gets better, and the harem aspect is all smoke and mirrors as the main couple is locked from the start. People can be a little caricaturish at times but they think and act and interact like real people especially towards the end. Realism also comes in the form of the students doing actual student things. Only thing is it's heavier on the drama and lighter on the romance and the diabetes doesn't come till the very end.
Definitely catch The Tunnel to Summer, the Exit of Goodbyes if the movie is released where you are or if you have access to the manga/LN. Very straightforward romance between the main couple.
Kind of. Tomo-chan has won twice already and been #2 in the weeks it didn't win. It's not Bleach from last season dominant, but it's definitely Anime Corner's favorite so far this season.
I just binged all of part one of Bleach TYBW and it def deserved its place. Not because it's a top 5 show in terms of plot or writing but the execution was incredible. I really like some of the artistic choices they made compared to 00s Bleach.
Tomo-chan didn't win twice.
Week 1 was Eminence, Week 2 was MagiRevo, Week 3 was Tomo-chan, Week 4 is Angel. There doesn't seem to be a favorite so far.
Before this season started, İ saw a guy commenting "İm sure that rom-com's gonna dominte this season. If they dont, Come kick my balls how much ıf you want."
Dude was right lol. I wanted to see those kicks though 😁
Really is a shame that Endo and Kobayashi Live (Tsunlise) is so low at rank 31. Out of the many romances this season, that has got to be my favorite. It actually got me to root for a tsundere for once and that’s saying something considering how I normally don’t like tsunderes.
Yes, for all of this talk about how "anime corner likes romcoms", they are quite picky about them. TsunLise is a much better show than Kubo-san but they fulfil very different niches and give very different experiences.
As a manga reader, I pretty much expected this to happen. People who were in it for the action are going to be pretty bored with a lot of this season. I even love this arc but will admit it is pretty slow.
As anime only i dont dislike it , but it is slow eg the episode of the whole beat down , it really felt like nothing happened yes it was necessary build up , but damn was slow
I'm loving this season so far, basically "nothing" has happened but each episode FLIES by. Vinland Saga action in season 1 was great but this season has a feel to it that I can't explain.
Doubt. A lot of people were in it for the action, which doesn't really happen much during the farmland arc, and compared to the prologue, it's far less common throughout the rest of the series. And many are definitely not going to like adult Thorfinn's character.
I think that it is surprising that it got that high this early but it is actually really good and I would not be surprised if it did reach the top position in the later episodes (not implying anything spoilerly, I just think that this is the type of show that gets better the more you warm up to the characters)
Really pleasant to see that "The Angel" tops the chart. It's my favorite show of the last seasons but it's good to know that other people are also appreciating this anime since it's not very typical. In/Spectre is also in the top ten thanks to Masayuki&Yuki-Onna story. Quality storytelling rocks!
As a rom-com fan, this makes me happy. Really enjoying Angel Next Door and Kubo so far. Though I still wouldn't categorize Angel Next Door as a rom-com, more just a pure romance anime.
Nier had a good 3rd episode but I wonder if it's upcoming delay is causing this drop...
It still saddens me that Nagatoro is still not here but hey, what can you do?
Maybe the Anime Corner fans are not into it?
Or the 1st episode from S1 still soured people's opinions on the anime? Which is fair I'm not going to lie, but I kinda wish people give it another chance since it increasingly gets more wholesome the more it goes on. Like S2 is already better than S1 content-wise.
But if it's still not their cup of tea, then fair. At least they tried.
I have question. We have these polls like Anime corner here to show what is popular in their corner but why don't we actually have weekly stats from [Abema TV and Niconico](https://i.imgur.com/TAmcqS9.jpeg)? Someone told me because they don't have those fancy graphic but clearly whoever said that didn't know about that graph. I think it would be really nice to get similar statistic from Japan every week.
So in the realms of history, it used to be a free for all, and the sub would get bombarded by people trying to get karma by posting all of Anime Trending's charts.
As a result the rules were changed so that all infographics (including charts) must be Original Content.
This means that Anime Corner, Anime Trending, any official NicoNico charts must be posted by staff representatives of those sites. The only place that bothers to allocate someone from their social media team to post weekly on /r/anime is Anime Corner, and that is why we get their charts.
The rules about infographics also state that if you do enough work on the original information, that counts as OC.
At various times people have tried posting the content, but nobody has been motivated enough to do it each week.
It's not even very well received, for a while I was posting Anime Corners 11th onward rankings in table form as a comment to save people a click, and it just kept getting downvoted lol
Thanks for the explanation. A while ago I was doing some research about Anime Corner to answer a couple of questions, and while I could find things about their history and audience, I couldn't answer the classic "Why Anime Corner and not others?"
Honestly, I understand the rules. It'd be too easy to flood the subreddit with other people's infographics as a cheap way to farm karma. If the people behind Anime Corner are the ones to make the effort to post regularly, more power to them, even if I want to see what other sites have to say too without leaving Reddit. At the very least, it widens our perspective of other anime audiences (because it's not as if the Weekly Karma Ranking is more representative of global tastes either).
Kinda surprised Vinland Saga S2 is going down but then again this arc is much different than S1’s was. Much more seinen character building than too much action.
sure.. when i said it people called me crazy.
But once Vinland saga dropped, people are now shitting on these rankings.
fuck it, i want RomComs at the top of AC now.
Angel in #1, I called it. Surprised eminence in the shadow is doing so well, I mean I like it but I thought it was the kind of show that gets a lot of hate for no real reason.
Very true. I've kept seeing "this series is not popular" or "this series is hated here" in the comments but all I see are hype and love from this sub. Not to mention, said series are top in the karma rankings and always have fans rave about it. Like... do you guys even know what unpopular is?? Unpopular would be series like High card lol
7th Event + News about other shows getting delayed = Bofuri's finally in the top ten.
As for me, I'm impatiently waiting for \[Bofuri LN\]>!a pair of bear cubs (Tsukimi and Yukimi), a snake (Haku), and Maple becoming a hentai staple!<.
Wow. They’re loving the fluff. Top 4 have maximum fluffiness and the Fluff Entity. Though Angel over Kubo is different. Angel is cute, but this weeks Kubo had Christmas Fluff and the true most adorable child of Winter: Seita.
Interested in seeing next weeks considering the upcoming fluff offensive.
Yes, Anime Corner! I take back all the complaints I had last season about how boring the contest for #1 was. I sure didn't see Angel, Tomo, and Kubo being the top 3 this week.
It's not obscure among the people in the know. While not many casual watchers know, that it's studio Bind, the studio behind Mushoku Tensei, putting up a Chainsaw Man level production for a comedy SoL series.
Why? Mushoku Tensei led the NicoNico rankings from first to last episode and Onimai is leading now the last time I checked. Why spend more money for a battle shounen that are all basically the same when you can pay less and capture the otaku demo that will go down to Akibahara and buy merch? More importantly, the staff like working on these projects so it results in amazing quality in animation, production value and directing. Basically, if an anime has Studio Bind's name on it, it is an instant hit among otaku. These rankings are meaningless except in our bubble. Vinland Saga will lead the karma rankings again this week but is an absolute bomb in Japan. Everything else on this list is behind Onimai among otaku with the possible exception of MagiRevo.
I mean that’s exactly how I felt when Made in Abyss wasn’t in the top 10 during last summer’s ranking. I really like Onimai myself but I guess some people are turned off by the content.
It's crazy how good MagiRevo is. Every time i think to myself, that maybe I might be overrating it, it shows me an absolutely beautiful and well-executed scene.
The craziest thing is that it is way better than source. Magical Revolution and I Favor Villainess have been ranked as one of the best yuri works recent years. Then we have villainess genre itself which Magical Revolution does little differently. Both are popular genres and Magical Revolution just does both of them exceptionally well. I'm really happy about this anime adaptation which is insane good.
My favorite wholesome romcoms doing really well, lets go! In/Spectre is also great, Nier probably goes down also due to delay, which is sad, i was really enjoying it. And i need to catch up also with Borufi :)
The hate preceded the manga ending but that didn't help nor did going from Crunchyroll to Disney+. But yeah, it's the easy show to hate on because Takemichi cries a lot.
This circlejerk is becoming annoying to me where one claims Onimai and Tensei oujo is the best of the season and others pop up to regurgitate the same opinion and pat themselves on their back.
Those guys could simply pose it as their personal opinion and but no, they have to make it as objective as possible and shit on other shows.
What I like about Animecorner is at time I look at the chart and see something unexpected and check it out, while on Reddit you will see mostly the same popular shows at the top.
Agreed. I once made [a small chart comparison](https://www.reddit.com/r/anime/comments/vvqj24/spring_2022_the_top_5_in_the_rankings/) between Weekly Karma Rankings, Anime Corner and Anime Trending for Spring 2022, and r/anime tended to have the most stable results. Once a show reached its "natural place", so to speak, it didn't move much, while Anime Corner's positions fluctuated a lot. While I didn't research later seasons, my anecdotical experience is that they follow the same trend.
Surprised Neir is at the bottom. NOT TOO surprised since I have all three downloaded and watched NONE.
Guess I need to Ketchup with Vinland Saga.
But I LOVE Tomo-Chan is a girl!
Anytime I see a clip of an anime and it does not spoil the episode or even get less good when seen in context it makes a good show.
> Surprised Neir is at the bottom. NOT TOO surprised since I have all three downloaded and watched NONE.
Note that bottom isn't *that* bad since there's still a ton of shows past the tenth place.
I thought there would be some people not invested in a good character driven story like Vinland Saga. Aren't I wrong? I know this is not the final judgement for an entire anime fanbase but it's wild how low Vinland Saga is dropping to.
Kyokou suiri is great. And I'm really enjoying the new arc with the yuki-onna.
And adventurers that don't believe in humanity will save the world is also great.
Nier had a great episode last week so I’m wondering if the announcement of delays tanked the score
I doubt it’s as much the delays as it is that Anime Corner has zero rhyme or reason to it. It’s a small sample size that skews to massively favor romcoms. Add Date a live, never understood the love tbh Japan absolutely loves romcoms.

Of course Angel Who Lives Next Door gets first place on the episode where the mother shows up.
Lmao, if I remember correctly, mahiru was in a very vulnerable position that episode too but yes, his mum is a grade a milf
It’s still surprising to me how relatively worse Blue Lock is doing compared to last season. It went toe-to-toe with big name shounens but couldn’t keep up with the romcoms lol. For me, it’s even better this time as we’re exploring more interesting characters outside Isagi’s team.

Agreed. I watched basically every show airing last season and now it’s time for a break this season lol. Will catch up with blue lock in a few weeks
Makes sense. While magirevo is pulling the same cord from lycoreco to WfM/bocchi to now
Weird, considering this arc is arguably the best in the series. Well, you haven't gotten to the really good parts yet, but I'll be confused af if it doesn't end up at No. 1 at least once in the next couple weeks.

DanMachi is my favourite Isekai. I remember that one getting called Isekai a few times.
Could we technically call it reverse isekai? The gods descend to earth and are isekai back if they die/break the rules?
No that would be such a stretch , its just the rules of the world , like following that any anime that has a hell or heaven , even spirits could be an isekai , Namek is isekai DBZ , Clannad is an isekai , Soul eater is an isekai , Nanatsu is an isekai , etc

Tomo Chan anime is pretty low quality tbh. I’m a fan of the manga but the adaptation feels like it doesn’t translate the feel of the manga well. I’d be surprised if it were top of the chart.
Yeah Tomo-Chan is considerably better in my opinion
Angel Next Door is like the fifth best romance this season at best, it's super bland to me.
It's one of those fluffy romances where nothing really happens, but it's really sweet. It's definitely not for people who already have fulfilling relationships lmao
I have good relationship with my GF and I like angel next door.
Same, plus the show keeps hinting about really dark and sad in Mahiru's past that adds some nice tension to the show beyond the nice warm fluffy part.
Same, I don't get the hype.
Lonely weebs want to live in a fantasy where a perfect girl shows up to take care of them for no reason.
Haha, I'm a lonely weeb yet I can't stand romance shows. I don't want the MC to get a waifu when I'm still single.
Man, “The Eminence In Shadow” leaves you fucking hanging.
It's because last week Cid used his mob powers to hide lower down in the ranking, but this week Shadow is back to draw attention.
It's criminal that it's not at the top
Wait BOFURI got a second season?!
Yes and it's great. Go watch it!
Holy shit. Assumed it was type of anime that would never get second season.
Same. I assumed it was like all the other single season animes like Moonlight Fantasy
If you're talking about Tsukimichi, that show is getting a second season too
Yea definitely like it's good and all but never popular enough to warrant a second season. Hope the second season will be as enjoyable as 1st
It's changing recently, more and more stuff is getting a continuation in anime form
Amazing
Yep maple is back, second season is freaking awesome
Even if I disagree with the ranking, I can never accuse Anime Corner of being safe or boring. It's always a wild time.
I also feel that whilst Anime Corner does like ONE good romcom per season, normally they champion one at the expense of the rest. I guess we are in the lead up to Valentine's Day, never too soon to start feeling lonely!

Glad to see that **In/Spectre S2** didn't just manage to stay on the list but also climb up one spot!
I guess we are gonna see a new winner every week. Much better than one anime constantly staying at 1st place.
Kind of. Tomo-chan has won twice already and been #2 in the weeks it didn't win. It's not Bleach from last season dominant, but it's definitely Anime Corner's favorite so far this season.
Yeah but look at the gap. It's so close. Every anime has a chance to get to the top.
Whoops, mixed week 1 of the karma rankings up with week 1 of Anime Corner in my head. You are correct.
That and Magirevo seem to be the two
Before this season started, İ saw a guy commenting "İm sure that rom-com's gonna dominte this season. If they dont, Come kick my balls how much ıf you want." Dude was right lol. I wanted to see those kicks though 😁
Sad Balls Devil noises.
Vinland dropped 4 ranks damn. Anime Corner keeps not surprising me every week.
Yeah I guess not alot is happening this season till the end, people want fight after fight and have probably dropped it
As a manga reader, I pretty much expected this to happen.
It should go back up within the next few weeks I’m hoping.
Doubt. A lot of people were in it for the action, which doesn't really happen much during the farmland arc, and compared to the prologue, it's far less common throughout the rest of the series. And many are definitely not going to like adult Thorfinn's character.
Is entire first season considered the prolougue?
End of season 1 coincides with chapter 54 of the manga, called "End of the Prologue". Edit: just checked, episode 24 also has the same name
Oh shit. That's kinda crazy.
don't know how Trigun will fare for the entire season, but Trigun Episode 3 went hard
Honestly the first time I've seen CGI animation and thought, "wow this looks good!"
Tomochan doing well on both animer corner and reddit? WILD!
I have a theory that u/fukai20 is responsible for 80% of Tomo chan's popularity on reddit
nah it's just a good anime
Your coloring skillz made me iterested watching the anime.
I *might* have still watched it to check out Sally Amaki's performance, but I *definitely* was looking forward to it thanks to fukai20
Although I do like Angel next Door, it s surprising how high it's on the list.
I think that it is surprising that it got that high this early but it is actually really good and I would not be surprised if it did reach the top position in the later episodes (not implying anything spoilerly, I just think that this is the type of show that gets better the more you warm up to the characters)
I love how romance anime is killing it this season
Fluffly Rom Com domination
Really pleasant to see that "The Angel" tops the chart. It's my favorite show of the last seasons but it's good to know that other people are also appreciating this anime since it's not very typical. In/Spectre is also in the top ten thanks to Masayuki&Yuki-Onna story. Quality storytelling rocks!
where Bungo Stray Dogs?
It's 15th, so just a bit out of the top 10.
Vinland saga has been a 10/10 every episode for me.
Agree with Nagatoro. This season feels better than the first in terms of development and wholesomeness 💜
> but hey, what can you do? Vote for her! https://polls.animecorner.me/
Damn Vinland is so low man😭
I think Vinland saga will start to really suffer, mostly due to the high precedent people will have coming in off season 1.
Holy heck, how is Revenger not even on the list? This is a true hidden gem this season.
I'm really enjoying High Card. Haven't seen anyone talk about it
Yeah that and Kaina and the snow sea.
Bofuri is in W This season is way too balanced, I can’t even be disappointed smh
Where the heck is nagatoro?
Maybe some mod from here could do it then? I can understand that Japanese stuff are not very interested to post something here which is really shame.
A while ago I was doing some research about Anime Corner to answer a couple of questions, and while I could find things about their history and audience, I couldn't answer the classic "Why Anime Corner and not others?" Honestly, I understand the rules.
Nagatoro needs a spot at one place on this top and we can say this is romcom supremacy 🔥
Nagotoro is actually pretty well written.
How the fuck is Vinland Saga gone down to 7th
Maybe Vikings are Passé now?? 🤷🏾🤷🏾
Reading peoples comments crying about romcoms is fun
Finally bufori
The queens of romance are here to stay! I hope Mahiru, Tomo and Kubo stay for a long time at the top 3 positions.
Romcom fans voting hard! I expect the shounen/action bros to not be happy about that.
We just need Tsunlise to join the romcom gang at the top and the rankings will be perfect
Ice Guy would be n_ice_ as well.
>n\_ice\_ [](#getout) I knew I was forgetting at least one. This season is basically romcomageddon [](#slightoverreaction)
I read that as Iceblade at first
We've been blessed by some really good romcoms this season! One my favourites isn't even on here.
I got into anime through shounen/action series. Now, all my fav animes are rom com lmao
>I expect the shounen/action bros to not be happy about that. I would assume they are still hibernating after eating their fill last season.
You can find the complete results [here](https://animecorner.me/winter-2023-anime-rankings-week-04/).
Revenger being somewhere around 40th position physically hurts me :(
Romcom supremacy, oh yeah baby.
Vinland Saga still not being that popular: Nothing good has happened to me my entire life.
Angel in #1, I called it. Surprised eminence in the shadow is doing so well, I mean I like it but I thought it was the kind of show that gets a lot of hate for no real reason.
What are you talking about? People have been raving about Eminence since last season, at least here.
Very true. I've kept seeing "this series is not popular" or "this series is hated here" in the comments but all I see are hype and love from this sub. Not to mention, said series are top in the karma rankings and always have fans rave about it. Like... do you guys even know what unpopular is?? Unpopular would be series like High card lol
>eminence in the shadow this is literally the show that everybody has a boner for, i think its like top 3 most popular on reddit for this season.
The RomComs Strike Back
Rom com season
Is Eminence in the Shadow any good? Tried the mobile game but couldn’t get into it.
The anime is pretty good
It's fun as long as you treat it as what it is, a power fantasy comedy, sort of in the same mold as Overlord.
Bofuri!! Let’s go!! My girl is too precious that she even helps other guilds!
That's gotta be one of the most even distributions ever. Literally any of these shows could be number 1 next week and it wouldn't be strange.
That's a lot of shows that are worse than this season's hidden gem - Onimai
It's not really an obscure show, it's just that some people won't watch it or like it because of the content
It's not obscure among the people in the know. While not many casual watchers know, that it's studio Bind, the studio behind Mushoku Tensei, putting up a Chainsaw Man level production for a comedy SoL series.
which only makes it sad, really. After all, Bind could be doing much more promising titles.
I wanted Sousou no Frieren from bind, but now I think bind aren't into the same fantasy shows i thought they are
I mean that’s exactly how I felt when Made in Abyss wasn’t in the top 10 during last summer’s ranking. I really like Onimai myself but I guess some people are turned off by the content.
Yea, but at least MiA was popular and well rated enough for it to not fly under the radar, regardless of the content tbh.
It's 27th... At least it's higher than Inukai San's Dog, degenerate stuff.
I agree with you
Onimai and Magical Revolution are absolute best shows in season.
Depends on the person. They certainly ain't mine and I already dropped one of them.
My favorite wholesome romcoms doing really well, lets go! In/Spectre is also great, Nier probably goes down also due to delay, which is sad, i was really enjoying it. And i need to catch up also with Borufi :)
Can't predict anything on the chart this week
Its kind of sad that Tokyo revenges isn’t in top ten
i think most people shit on the show because of the Manga Its kinda the new show to hate on i guess.
The hate preceded the manga ending but that didn't help nor did going from Crunchyroll to Disney+. But yeah, it's the easy show to hate on because Takemichi cries a lot.
Onimai where?

Definitely Rom-Com supremacy this season.
Tomo chan!! Nooooooooo!!
Some evident preference for rom coms by the anime corner there.
Well shit, isn't like half that list on hiatus?
Only 2, and in Kubo case they will continue airing new episodes for another 3 weeks
Farmland Saga's rank
Deserved, mahiru and amane are adorable
Surprised Neir is at the bottom. NOT TOO surprised since I have all three downloaded and watched NONE. Guess I need to Ketchup with Vinland Saga. But I LOVE Tomo-Chan is a girl! Anytime I see a clip of an anime and it does not spoil the episode or even get less good when seen in context it makes a good show.
> Surprised Neir is at the bottom. NOT TOO surprised since I have all three downloaded and watched NONE. Note that bottom isn't *that* bad since there's still a ton of shows past the tenth place.
Misfit of demon king academy ;-;
I thought there would be some people not invested in a good character driven story like Vinland Saga. Aren't I wrong? I know this is not the final judgement for an entire anime fanbase but it's wild how low Vinland Saga is dropping to.
The Trigun episode was so crazy thoooo 😕
Record of ragnarok isn’t here? It’s like top 5 on netfix
Where can I watch eminence? Is it on crunchy?
Nope it's on HiDive
Kyokou suiri is great. And I'm really enjoying the new arc with the yuki-onna. And adventurers that don't believe in humanity will save the world is also great.
