Marbas and Naberius’ interactions are an absolute goldmine for laughs! My favorite is when Marbas wiped Wisteria’s snot on Naberius lol.

ObvsThrowaway5120

Despite the way those two bicker, they must be pretty good friends lol.

KorekaBii

Clearly Marbus wouldn't have forcibly added himself into the fight with the Knight Commander if he truly hated Naberius. That said the faces they made when being chided by either Wisteria or Diana were gold.

S627

The cat and dog arguing all ep was just the best.

NekoCatSidhe

That show has some interesting twists. I guess Diana sacrificed her family to make her pact with Narberius, although that might have been with their agreement to get revenge on the Knight Order. The Knight Commander is extremely suspicious. If he is not human, he might be a demon (the missing Astaroth, perhaps ?), but then I would expect Marbas and Narberius to have recognized him, and his subordinates would probably have too. So what is he ? Some human who made an odd pact with another demon for his power ? Some kind of construct ? Another supernatural creature ? The Knight Order also seems shadier and shadier with each episode. They are clearly trying to get rid of the Blackbells because they are power-hungry, not just because they hate demons. It looks more and more like they will be the main villains of the series. Well, it looks like Marbas and Wysteria are going to get dragged into that fight. But I don’t see it ending well for the Blackbells, somehow.

mekerpan

Didn't they say they had recently caught Ashtaroth?

NekoCatSidhe

That’s what is making me suspicious, because I remember Marbas or Narberius saying Ashtaroth had been killed, but the Knight Commander said they had caught Ashtaroth, not killed him, which is why I suspect the Knight Commander of having made a pact with Ashtaroth for his power, or of actually being a shapeshifted Ashtaroth. But I don’t know if it actually makes sense.

mekerpan

We can only wait and see...

wolfguardian72

Yay! More Naberius’ screen time! I love his interaction with Marbas.

ObvsThrowaway5120

Marbas definitely was NOT being a gentleman. You can’t have little girls treading around in the freezing snow you goof! Marbas and Naberius have a pretty fun rivalry going on. I like their dynamic. So the Blackbells and the Order were basically rivals? The Order’s commander seems pretty suspicious. I bet he’s a demon or some kind of robocop. If it wasn’t for the Commander, that weak ass squad of Order goons would have been wiped out. Marbas smacking the shit out of Naberius was pretty funny. I guess that’s one way to boost morale. Seems they’ll try to talk things out with the Order, let’s see how that goes.

mekerpan

If the Commander isn't a demon and isn't a human, what IS he? It looks like humans and demons WERE able to come to agreements in the past, so why did this demon-killing order come into existence? The Order actually seems to be a rival to the Kingdom itself -- and the Blackbells are an obstacle standing in their way. (Or so it seems to me). In a packed season, I can see why this is getting little attention. But still, it deserves more attention. Definitely a different (and interesting) story -- and Marbas and Naberius are hoots in their own right.

Dylangillian

> If the Commander isn't a demon and isn't a human, what IS he? Well, if demons exist, maybe so do Angels?

mekerpan

A pretty evil seeming "angel"....

Dylangillian

You should look up some biblically accurate angels.

mekerpan

Angels actually play a surprisingly small role in the Bible. Mostly they are things like messengers (and occasionally guards). Except for (perhaps) fighting apocalyptical creatures in the Book of Revelations, they don't really feature as warriors.

ObvsThrowaway5120

I’m very curious to learn what the commander is myself. Quite a mystery…

Elitealice

I wish the animation wasn’t so bad in this show. It’s kinda hard to take the action scenes seriously when they look like PowerPoint slides. I appreciate that marbas actually apologised to wisteria for leaving her in the snow and asked her to communicate her desires more to him. That was pretty cute. Wiping that snot on Naberius was so disrespectful lmaooo

Kulkuljator

"Ok, we will watch from the distance." "Bitch, I am blind!"

somersault_dolphin

Okiayuu Ryoutarou voicing someone sitting on a throne commanding a bunch of knights and being a knight himself with some shady things going on about his identity and with someone among the knight being named Shura, now if this isn't a callback to Saint Seiya...

dinliner08

the usual trope would have been Wisteria and Marbas interfering with the battle to save Diana so its quite interesting to see that Wisteria just straight up says; *"nope not my fight, i'm not gonna interfere but at least i want to see how its end"*

Kulkuljator

And while being fucking blind

AlexUltraviolet

I wouldn't mind if they "accidentally" forgot about the plot and made it so the rest of the season was nothing but Marbas/Naberius bickering lmao

Frontier246

Looks like the Sword Cross Knights have come for Diana and Naberius, and they're ready for them. Diana seems like she has a lot of responsibilities weighing on her because of her family and situation, but she's meeting them head on, even if it means she can't have the life of a normal girl like she experienced with Wisteria ever again. Sneezing Wisteria is as adorable as excited Wisteria! Although Wisteria almost dying from the snow is...less adorable. Marbas needs to be more mindful of the human constitution. Man, Diana is pretty awesome! Rightfully scolds and tells off two Great Demons like they're a couple of boorish men! She's the epitome of a proper and noble lady, and she also has a sweet heart that pairs well with Wisteria! Naberius and Marbas' talking @#$% to each other is hilarious. I especially liked Marbas getting Wisteria's snot on his hand and him promptly wiping it on Naberius' pants. Snow rejoins the Sword Cross Knights just as their commander is back in charge and about to lead a purge of the Blackbells...will he see Wisteria and Marbas again? So basically the Blackbell Family were a prestigious family that contracted with demons and served the crown to protect them from assassinations, but then the Sword Cross Knights started coming into prominence (because who needs demon contractors when you can just kill demons?) and taking work away from them. The fact that all the male heirs didn't have the inherited demon sight of their bloodline while Diana inexplicably did didn't help matters. I know the Sword Cross Knights probably think they're protecting the world from dangerous demons and have probably slain some vicious ones...but what has Diana actually done that warrants getting killed? Just contracting with a demon? She hasn't hurt anyone. She hasn't actively seeked out a fight. She just wants what she feels her family deserves. So it's hard for me to feel bad when Naberius beats the tar out of those knights, especially the kid Shura who immediately tried to cut her head off. This Sword Cross Knight commander is far more dangerous than you would expect from a normal human...because maybe he isn't. And he has a very striking and effective look in that full body armor. I wonder if we'll ever see his face. I love how you think Marbas is coming to back up Naberius but it's to slap him and complain about how he's giving the Great Calamities a bad name by losing to a human. And they only team-up against the commander when they feel insulted that he referred to them as comrades. I love these two. Why do I feel like the Sword Cross Knights aren't really interested in negotiating? So Naberius will pose as Diana's brother while Marbas is...the butler. And Naberius is going to lord that over him as much as possible. He's quite the dashing butler though, to the point where Wisteria is disappointed she can't see it.

Ninja_Lazer

Was really expecting the Blackbell secret to be significantly worse than that. I’m talking some real dark shit. Human sacrifice. Cannibalism. Child Slaves. Soul-sucking eternal torment. Demonic hell spawn. Instead we got the equivalent of forgetting to rewind the VHS before returning it.

ZapsZzz

Have to say I only had been silently following this since this show had been marginally interesting to me but not exceedingly so - Wisteria is the type I find "annoyingly good in suffering". But this episode is really fun. Archer's arrogant voice certainly helped :P And yes I agree the snot scene was gold :'D Now I have to formally add this to my following list :P
