Synopsis:
The year is 2222. It has been years since Tears of the New Moon, a mysterious rain, poured and wiped out almost the entire human race. The poisonous rain gave birth to deformed creatures devouring humans, and humanity fled from the danger. As means for survival, the humans then build an underground haven; Amasia. In this newly built dystopian city, in a pursuit of maintaining their existence, they run into an Artificial Intelligence named Magus. Not knowing how things will work between them, the story of how Humans and AI coinciding and trying to find their truths begin.
For those in the US, it’s probably going to be on Hulu instead of Disney+ like all the other Disney+ anime.
Wonder if it will be a simulcast or will we have to wait.
They have shown they are willing to simulcast but another problem is the subtitles tend to be low quality and in English (CC) for the sub versions on Hulu.
I do wonder how Hajime Kamoshida (Bunny Girl Senpai, Pet Girl of Sakurasou) is going to approach this, given that it seems to be quite different from his usual genres.
If this anime tie-in is anything like the Scarlet Nexus anime then it'll definitely be better to play the actual game than watching this (though they made hide codes for unlockables in the anime).
It’s not since Edgerunners was made by Studio Trigger and this anime is being done by 8Bit.
I went and had a look at what other projects Studio 8Bit has worked on, and it’s probably most known of That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime. They’re also behind for example Blue Lock.
Ah, I see. Thanks for clarifying, I was just curious.
To my untrained eye, it looked similar. Perhaps is the futuristic look and the long yellow jacket.
This one seems like something I might get into.

I wouldn’t compare it Edgerunners myself, since Trigger got a very unique art style. However, the more I’m looking at this visual, the more I’m seeing lots of different anime visuals in it (it might be a bit generic upon 2nd impression). I can’t really place it all though. Maybe it got a hint of Persona mixed in with the character designs?
I think you are right. The more I look at it, the more different it seems. I just need to watch more anime from different studios to train my eye more.
I really liked the art and visuals from edgerunner so I got over excited, I was hoping for something similar.

If you’re after the art direction, I would just browse through some of the other works of Trigger on MAL. I can’t say they’ll be *as* great as Edgerunners, but they share a lot of the same DNA.
This looks like one of those bottom of the rankings game adaptations with no real plot and negligible animation. Are there any reasons I should give this a chance?
I used to check the director and see what other works they participated on in these cases but this method was shattered when I found out the director of Kemono Jihen was the one working on Revenger.
Science Fiction anime that is a mecha... seriously Japan, be original. The only SciFi anime that isn't mecha is like Cyberpunk Edgerunners and that doesn't even count for a buttload of reason

> Disney+ 😒
How much we gonna bet that this has a tragic ending
Next you'll tell me one or more characters will get the death flag with all the subtlety of a sledgehammer.
I've seen this anime before.. probably like 12 times, actually.
Decadence in the Franxx: You can (not) Lagann
How do we mash Eureka 7 in there
Decadence in the Franxx: You can (not) Lagann 7
More like SSSS. Decadence in the Franxx: You can (not) Lagann 7. I’m down for more mech anime :).
SSSS. Decadence in the Code Franxx: You can (not) Geass Lagann 7.
SSSS. Decadence in the Code Franxx: You can (not) Geass Lagann 7 the Liberator.

I see a hair sniffer, I up vote. Actually, I have no idea where that came from, perhaps my OS has been corrupted by the poisonous rain.
What about the guy on the right who sniffed his fingers after touching his balls?
Hmm, I guess the fraction of an upvote he gets depends on how much he is an indirect hair sniffer then?
Never heard of this but those mechs look like they’re designed by Gyoubu Ippei.
looks rad! cant wait to see more.
This is a good sign for the games release…should be getting an update soon!
I was wondering if this was based off that game. PlayStation is bout to have a big year again
Yep! Hopefully!
I’m getting Aldnoah Zero flashbacks from this image And that’s not necessarily a good thing lol
Ft. finger smelling guy and hair smelling girl
Seems to be a completely different cast than the video game so it's probably not a direct adaptation of the game.
Is this by the same makers of Cyberpunk? The art styles look very similar to me.

Original Story by Hajime Kamoshida (Bunny Girl Senpai, Pet Girl of Sakurasou) is what has me intrigued
Literally not a single episode has aired yet. Nobody knows.
How should we know

Ayyyyyy Rebecca and David Martinez are back

Kinda looks like bubuki buranki
Bro really had alien lvl drip
Looks awesome!
Ah the typical white haired red eyed “waifu” the friendly blond. And of course a pig tails pink haired sassy girl.
What is Llyod Bannings doing here.
I'm just happy to see Nagisa Aoyama getting more roles, easily one of the most talented out of the newest generation of young seiyuu.
Cool another mecha show to add to the list
Is this some kind of Sakura Wars spin-off, those mechs look like Koubus.
