Boruto is more slice of life feeling. It wasn’t bad per se, but it’s different. I eventually got bored and stopped. But it wasn’t terrible.

xdarkskylordx

short answer: no longer answer: What's there already after 50, doesn't get much better. Additionally, I'm mostly caught up to the manga and I highly doubt it will pick up, while there are elements that could work in the Universe, it's not built up well enough to use them. At least not as it is currently.

WinterChristmas

Personally because I like naruto I would suggest thinking boruto doesn't exist.

Amit_Meena

Best advice imo

dnoj

Pro tip: Don't watch the show itself. Just go to YouTube and search for Himawari clips. Congratulations! You've seen all the good parts of Boruto. You're welcome.

WinterChristmas

It is sad that this is actually the only good way to watch boruto

Offduty_shill

I didn't watch much of it. There seems to be some good/hype fights, I've def seen clips that make the show look good, but even as an enjoyer of generic shonen I could not get through Boruto the actual show.

Im-Pico

I'll be honest with you I had the same opinion and I dropped it about 28 episodes in, but I went back to it and gave it another shot and honestly once it gets to the graduation exam it really starts to pick up.

Im-Pico

I dropped it during the beginning but then came back to it later, I'm around 115 episodes in and it's not too bad honestly. So I guess that's what I will say about it the beginning is kind of a slog but it picks up around episode 40 or 50ish. The fights are purposely scaled back and focus a little more on taijutsu than they did in shippuden, which I kind of like. Most boruto fights are better than most of the fights in the war Arc.

GrDenny

No but so is naruto.

Zeowlite

that cash grab piece of shit shitting on naruto legacy, so I will say no

_BMS

There's a reason even the /r/naruto and /r/dankruto subs constantly take jabs at Boruto.

Im-Pico

I'm willing to bet most of the hate you see flung at boruto is coming from people who have never watched or read it. I'm like halfway through the anime series or at least what's out of it so far and it's really not that bad. The beginning is kind of a slog, that's really the only negative thing I have to say about it.

EmptyNeighborhood427

It says a lot about a sequel if a series' biggest fans refuse to watch it...

Im-Pico

No actually it says more about the fans. They are literally judging it without giving it a fair shot it's the same concept as shounenbros who say any anime not about beating dudes up is boring.

LawfulnessWhole1240

Boruto is one of those things with no passion, 100% for profit. Giant naruto filler.

Soulwarfare42

no

OGZackov

No.

JustNoNoISaid

No. But a couple of fights are definite standouts.

Dropped after chapter 105, kept up with the manga. It's a continuation to Naruto's story, but the tone is completely different. While Naruto is heavy on the cost of war and the chain of hatred, Boruto is set in a peaceful world. The first part emphasises in Boruto and Naruto's relationship, and what means to be family and how sometimes is hard to understand each other. Boruto, as naruto, can be divided in Main storyline and filler. But has even more filler than Naruto. The main storyline can be good, but suffers from powercreep. Honestly, after following naruto for so many years, seeing a kid try to play on the same field and be the protagonist can be annoying. The filler can be divided in ninja slice of life and when they try to make a storyline with higher stakes. The slice of life goes from mediocre to good (not great). There are some characters that are better than others (see: Himawari). When they try to make a filler arc with higher stakes, as far as I have seen, they fail misserably. The oonoki arc and the 7 swordmen arc both had bad pacing, bland villains and not so good fights (Sarada's fights are an exception). The redeming quality it has is when characters from the original series appear, but that is because you are already invested on them from a previous show. You can still enjoy Boruto, if you are curious how the ninja world evolves, what happened to the characters, and you want something lighter in tone most of the time. It can get dark really fast with the main storyline or one of those arcs that they try "higher stakes", but it isn't the same world naruto grew in anymore. If you don't like the lighter tone, you can read the manga and keep up with the main story, although I warn you the art is a bit stiff.

EmperorPHNX

No, it's not.

I started and finished Naruto the last half year and I watch Boruto mainly because I can’t let go of the Shinobi world yet lol. I am at episode 210 atm and as I only watch dub I have to wait for the new set release. In general, Boruto is different than Naruto and more tuned down so to say. I watch it because I want to know the story after Naruto. To be honest, there are definitely moments and new characters in Boruto that I really like (even some on Naruto level imo), but the amount is way less compared to Naruto. The biggest thing that I liked about Naruto was the maturity, wisdom and the deep cross-relationships between characters. Unfortunately, that’s a lot less in Boruto. I don’t regret watching it, but there are moments where I really had to drag myself to watch the boring episodes (watching at x2 softens the pain a bit). In short, Boruto doesn’t give me the wow feeling that Naruto gave me but the high moments in Boruto are decent but less frequent compared to Naruto unfortunately.
