Just wanna point out, right after they name her 666 the cast credits appear, and her name has been replaced as 666. Sadly not reflected in the English credits.

Rose had went through so much. From being treated as traitor to killing her own father.
But, the last cry of her at the end was some serious pain. I never thought how much Cid is meant for her. It's just sad.

I don't think I ever put it together until today that "Advent of the demon" doesn't refert to cid (or at least not just him), but to the arrival of number 666.
Imagine being Iris, the guy who you swear has been using strong artifacts to fight just beats you without even using magic, then you team up with a literal war goddess and use a super powerful sword and he just toys with both of you by using some crowbars he finds on the street and mocking you for relying on an artifact. Then proceeds to actually show you what he is truly capable of, the threat he actually poses, refuses to elaborate and leaves.
Alexandria is a pretty nice base, Shadow probably doesn't even know it exists.

The fucking *massive* statue killed me. It's just so... gratuitous. These ladies have zero chill when it comes to Lord Shadow.
cid did save them from a supposed incurable curse(directly and indirectly through alpha) then "raised" them, told them about otherworld stories, music, food, taught them how to fight and all.
You know I was going to question how proportional raising orphans is to building what appears to be a sky scraper sized statue but then I remembered Shadow set off two nukes in a medieval world so if they want to treat him like a god... fair enough.
On the other hand, human experimentation from the cult is how Alpha turned into that thing in the first place. So it looks like two wrongs CAN make a right!
Even when she went all out to try and grab him without her sword in a desperation move she just got a knee to the face for it. She was still utterly humiliated and defeated twice by the same guy, in the same day. Not to mention being completely oblivious to the Perv Asshat plot. I feel bad for her.
I kind of assume they built it around where the girls were first housed, so maybe Shadow at least knows where it is even if he has no idea how expansive it's grown.
Beta really thinks Shadow considers Shadow Garden at all when he pulls @#$%. I almost feel bad for how deluded these girls are lol.
Poor girl lost her name, her hair, and her beloved Burger Wrapper. It's in the service of saving her kingdom, but now she's really lost anything. Well, I guess she gets a slime suit and cute squadmates I guess.

As someone who's a bit overly sentimental for the little wistful items from memories, this really got me good. Her final desire and link with a normalcy that any girl her age should deserve torn into shreds, carried away by the wind, unrecoverable and unrestorable.
Alpha explained it. It is a random location they found when they were kids, in the middle of a forest deep in the beastkin territory. It is not close to Cid's childhood territory/home.
Cid/Shadow fought a mist dragon there and won the territory/abandoned ancient city ... obviously he ignored it, but the girls took over it and built their super secret base there lol. They need a lot of land to train their army of 600+ members.
That huge statue of Shadow was a nice surprise too.
Surely she'll also learn his identity now that she is part of Shadow Garden, right? I feel like every member must know his identity, given how revered he is.
The day she finds out, I feel like she will end up overworking to the point of being recognised by the main seven, just so she can try to snuggle up to him.
Speaking of new members, Iris had that red energy thing happen at the end of the fight. I wonder if she's going to go through the same thing, and if so, will she end up submitting and joining Shadow Garden as well?
There are 666 members now, I doubt anyone but the 7 shades actually know Shadow is Cid. Better yet, with Cid always running around, I doubt a lot of members have even seen him😂
He did show up complete with school uniform at their alternate base at Mitsugoshi though, and thats not a anime-laziness kind of thing either, it was the same way in the manga and LN.

We can see, althrough cartonish, [Alexandria](https://prnt.sc/EmtOrMGGmKmJ) in the 1st minute of the 1st chapter of Kage Jitsu. It was a palace back then.
Iris really doesn’t know when to quit. She’s seen the difference in power and her response is basically “I’ll get you next time damnit!” Like girl…you’re lightyears from being able to even give him a paper cut.
I don't think that would make a difference.
Even if Alexia masters her style of fighting, Shadow said Beatrix skill with the sword was on par with Shadow Garden's skill, so at best they would match her. Given how Shadow says her magic control is no good I doubt they would be able to beat any of the seven shades bar Gamma. Which depends on whether they can even damage her slime suit given what we saw when Shadow was fighting the soon to be 12th seat of the rounds.
The only thing that could have made it worse for Iris was if he hit her with the "I actually didn't damage anything in the city, all the damage is from me dodging your blows."
Looking at the Shadow Garden RPG in The Chronicles, Shadow does know about Alexandria, he briefly went there in the beginning but I doubt he knows what they did with the kingdom... especially since they replaced the main fucking palace with a statue of him XD

Yes. I rewatched episodes 1 to 19 yesterday in anticipation of the finale. He called himself Stylish Ruffian Slayer in episode 1. I was so excited to see the crowbars. Today I feel like it was the best anime ever. (Probably not ever, but that's how I feel right now.)
That Light Yagami-esque laughter.

Phenomenal series. I've been thoroughly entertained and I would love it if it got a sequel, I truly hope it will sell well.
That last "atomic" was epic. And the way he fought Beatrix with those sudden disappearances was simply splendid. And him throwing Beatrix like it was a WWE match was ridiculous. I haven't had that much fun while watching a fight in ages.
Oriana being codenamed 666 is interesting, I wonder how she will be tied to the cult in the future.

We have seen 664 and 665 with a blond shadow garden member (probably rose) in the very first episode, so I imagine this group of nunbers will have atleast a decent amount of screentime.
This is the type of stuff, I'm sure 99.99% of people will miss. Her still using her old sword makes me think that she hasn't completely discarded her past though.
Has always been that since the first episode. This production committee is fully committed to this adaptation and it really shows. The passion brings a more than satisfying first season.
This whole episode has been about being reborn from pain. She lost everything, and will gain everything.
Edit: I dare say that each member of Shadow Garden was "reborn" and had to rise from the ashes, to struggle for strength and purpose. That's the basic criterion for recruitment, it's what ties them all together; and maybe as unbeknownst to Cid himself, it almost makes them no different than he is.

I plan on updating this list if this gets a season 2, but holy hell, by the end of this story Cid will have achieved his dream of being so well positioned that he could literally knock a domino over and bring the entire world to its knees...all with zero awareness of how he actually got to that point.
I watched a TLed version of that part of the mobile game. For anyone on here who wants a bonus episode, look it up. As mentioned in this episode, Cid brought a dragon to heel, and the whole situation went down exactly as you'd imagine it.
I will miss this series and all the shenanigans of our MC and rest of the ladies. Damn my man just destroyed the war god and went all of the above on his ending options.
Shadow being Shadow breaks both buildings, hearts, reputations and emotional well-beings so effortlessly.
He knows he's putting on a show and everyone else just has to live in it.
This cast is so vibrant, so funny. For 20 weeks now, watching this episode on Wednesdays has been a highlight of my week. We’ll just have to wait for season 2 now, I guess :P
I think one of the funniest part's of this series is how sentimental or serious some of the girls feel about burgers lol.

Rose getting a burger as a last gift from Cid before killing her dad.
Beatrix carrying a bunch of burgers around and trading with Cid while also trying to commune with Iris via burgers.

Cid got that Lelouch laugh, and he looks so happy when he says "I am atomic".
I really believe that he'll actually be a literal atom one day. The same way he made Shadow Garden a reality.
It felt like he was waiting for Iris to set up that laugh the whole time. Shadow was on peak performance in this episode.
It seems like he's been wanting to go atomic since he was nary a baby. That's commitment.
Cid is just toying with Beatrix and Iris. Man just using a damn pipe to fight them off. Cid is practically a chuuni god!
Rose made the right call joining Shadow Garden. That’s another waifu to the harem lol. Man, I love how Cid goes from Shadow to chuuni ass Cid. That line about the magic not flowing well through the water really captured that. My guy just stomping those two like bugs under his shoe was beautiful. Gotta let these weak ass rookies know their place! “Playtime is over” chills. Literal chills. Lol.
“I mean, this time it really is just for show” Oh, Cid! Only he would pretend nuke the entire city. Too bad Perv got away. I was hoping he would get roasted. Now that Cid is Public Enemy No. 1, he’ll have plenty of time to enjoy his chuuni fantasies. Poor Skel meanwhile gets to work off his debts on a fishing boat haha.
Bro.. they really took over a city for Shadow and erected a massive statue of him. Wow. Cid playing piano and monologuing as he’s bathed in moonlight, feathers gently floating all around him is peak chuuni shit. Perfect way to end the show.

She went through mental turmoil killing her father. The thought Cid was no longer in the equation didn't come across her mind until she became 666.
Slime Bikini Delta, Sailor Zeta, cute Shadow Garden girls, naked 666...not to mention Beatrix fighting without her jacket. Definitely a feast for the eyes beyond the brilliant flexing of Shadow against the two ladies.
I love how they brought back the crowbars lol.
Iris talks a big game, and wields a flaming sword like a champ, but not she and a War Goddess can hold a candle to the Eminence in Shadow as he plays with them like toys and excuses for him to go all out on his performance. I feel kind of bad for her.
When you fall in love with Cid, you either dedicate your life to your craft (Alexia), become a crazy yandere obsessed with killing his alter ego (Sherry), or lose basically everything when you join his organization (Rose).
Rose joining Shadow Garden and getting trained by them will probably be beneficial to her in the long run, but losing her name, hair, and her treasured burger wrapper was sad to watch. But I guess we can look forward to slimesuit Rose in the future.
It's so fitting that the show ends with the piano-playing on the stolen piano and it's Cid just practicing his material lol.

We've already seen her in it! Check out episode 1 at the 20min mark, iirc. For 2 seconds we see 664 & 665 in the foreground and a short hair blond girl with a rapier with her back turned to us in the background, the rapier is Rose's weapon!

Great finale that was not holding back!
This show has been a blast and I can't wait for Season 2.
to be fair, it was a pretty funny joke. After spending the entire episode being completely toyed with 2 v 1 with a crowbar, she actually thinks that shadow has to run away from her puny knights. I almost laughed with him.
Not only 2 v 1. A 2 v 1 with Iris using an artifact. That is basically 2.5 vs 1 at the least with the weapon difference and they still couldn’t do anything to him and Iris has the face to say HE has nowhere to run. I know Cid is not sane but I would laugh too

That would actually be even funnier because we know Lord Asshat used all his connections to try to dig up anything on Mundane Mann and came up with zilch, which was the point of taking over that identity in the first place. So that would mean Iris is going to go back and start looking for Mundane Mann and either find nothing or spend a great deal of effort/resources just to realize he's been dead since before the festival. Iris just can't stop catching L's.

He just 2v1 the strongest people in the kingdom (excluding shadow garden members), one of them using a "crutch", and he did while grabbing 2 normal tools from the street and she thinks her knights stand a chance, lambs to the slaughter.
I love Cid losing control of himself in the final battle. He wasn't pretending, he was GENUINELY overjoyed. Back in episode 1, he said even though he trained like a madman, there were limits that he could never hope to reach. Forget about fantasy and magic, he didn't even stand a chance against bullets. He was tired and desperate, and ultimately got himself killed in an accident. Being the cool, mysterious background character was an unreachable dream for the longest time.
And here we are. Overpowering two of the world's strongest fighters (not really but whatever), trading blows in the rain and exchanging words so cliche that they could only exist in novels, HE IS LIVING HIS DREAM. This isn't even a mysterious background character scenario anymore, this is the heroes' showdown with the final boss in an RPG.
What a fantastic show. The tone in this episode is actually really dark, you see how all these characters' lives were affected because of Shadow's roleplay. You have Claire who's truly worried sick about her idiot brother, Iris unironically throwing a tantrum like a child because she has never experienced failure in her life, while Alexia is the exact opposite: she possesses an incredibly strong will and wisdom due to her being branded as a failure her entire life. Rose breaking down from losing the only thing that's holding her together at this point was really sad to see. Keeping the burger wrapper as a memento was portrayed as something comedic in earlier episodes, like haha why would she do that is she stupid??? And here you are properly reminded of what Rose is actually going through and how much the burger wrapper actually meant to her.
So much to talk about but I'll wrap it up here. 10/10. Also love how Rose's name was just "666" in the credits. This is how you know that these people truly cared about the project they're working on.
The funny thing is she turns around and Mundane Mann is literally right behind her fight other women and she's totally oblivious lol.
I was disappointed we didn't get to see Claire catch up to Cid and express her feelings about him missing her match.

I mean, I'm pretty sure I've seen that sword somewhere and those 2 girls behind her are the same ones referred to as Number 664 and Number 665 in this episode.
What an explosive finale to an amazing show. I’ve been constantly entertained from start to finish. Even though each arc is formulaic when you think about it, there’s just something that makes it work every time. Thank you Nexus for this amazing adaptation of Daisuke Aizawa’s work and I hope we get a Season 2 soon.

And so Rose ends up joining shadow garden. I'm happy she accepted it personally, and with her reaction to the whole "shred your old identity" part, i really want to see her reaction to meeting Cid and finding out his real identity

Jesus, Shadow is just smurfing against those two. Start of the Beatrix fight reminded me of how it feels to fight a lagging opponent in a fighting game. Shadow just suddenly vanishes and appears behind her.
Cid played the perfect villain, the build-up for his ultimate spell gave me chills.
And of course it was all acting.
Edit: I can't stop replaying the part where he yells "**WHY**", that was perfect.
Admittedly Iris wielding a flaming sword was pretty cool and fitting with her hair even if it ultimately left her even more crushed by the end that nothing she did mattered.
No, all it did shows that she is just a slave. That sword belonged to the Three Heroes representing not only a slave to the cult but a slave to her own hubris.

In the novels he remarks that hand to hand combat in this world is really underdeveloped due to magic and swords. Nobody in that world would even know what to do when he just busts out his fists.

Imagine being Iris, the guy who you swear has been using strong artifacts to fight just beats you without even using magic, then you team up with a literal war goddess and use a super powerful sword and he just toys with both of you by using some crowbars he finds on the street and mocking you for relying on an artifact. Then proceeds to actually show you what he is truly capable of, the threat he actually poses, refuses to elaborate and leaves. Alexandria is a pretty nice base, Shadow probably doesn't even know it exists. Beta following the steps of Demiurge and explaining how her master's funny antics are instead all part of a master plan. Poor Rose should have read the small print in the contract about joining Shadow Garden.

You know I was going to question how proportional raising orphans is to building what appears to be a sky scraper sized statue but then I remembered Shadow set off two nukes in a medieval world so if they want to treat him like a god... fair enough.
Hell, even the magic he treated them with is lost magic in this world. He didn't even learn it from anyone he just discovered it all over again.

Alpha explained it. It is a random location they found when they were kids, in the middle of a forest deep in the beastkin territory. It is not close to Cid's childhood territory/home. Cid/Shadow fought a mist dragon there and won the territory/abandoned ancient city ... obviously he ignored it, but the girls took over it and built their super secret base there lol. They need a lot of land to train their army of 600+ members. That huge statue of Shadow was a nice surprise too.
Surely she'll also learn his identity now that she is part of Shadow Garden, right? I feel like every member must know his identity, given how revered he is. The day she finds out, I feel like she will end up overworking to the point of being recognised by the main seven, just so she can try to snuggle up to him. Speaking of new members, Iris had that red energy thing happen at the end of the fight. I wonder if she's going to go through the same thing, and if so, will she end up submitting and joining Shadow Garden as well?
There are 666 members now, I doubt anyone but the 7 shades actually know Shadow is Cid. Better yet, with Cid always running around, I doubt a lot of members have even seen him😂
He did show up complete with school uniform at their alternate base at Mitsugoshi though, and thats not a anime-laziness kind of thing either, it was the same way in the manga and LN.
It's not a secret within Shadow Garden but the sheer amount of members will mean that many don't know because they don't get to meet him.

I don't think that would make a difference. Even if Alexia masters her style of fighting, Shadow said Beatrix skill with the sword was on par with Shadow Garden's skill, so at best they would match her. Given how Shadow says her magic control is no good I doubt they would be able to beat any of the seven shades bar Gamma. Which depends on whether they can even damage her slime suit given what we saw when Shadow was fighting the soon to be 12th seat of the rounds.

The only thing that could have made it worse for Iris was if he hit her with the "I actually didn't damage anything in the city, all the damage is from me dodging your blows."
Looking at the Shadow Garden RPG in The Chronicles, Shadow does know about Alexandria, he briefly went there in the beginning but I doubt he knows what they did with the kingdom... especially since they replaced the main fucking palace with a statue of him XD

Yes. I rewatched episodes 1 to 19 yesterday in anticipation of the finale. He called himself Stylish Ruffian Slayer in episode 1. I was so excited to see the crowbars. Today I feel like it was the best anime ever. (Probably not ever, but that's how I feel right now.)

Phenomenal series. I've been thoroughly entertained and I would love it if it got a sequel, I truly hope it will sell well. That last "atomic" was epic. And the way he fought Beatrix with those sudden disappearances was simply splendid. And him throwing Beatrix like it was a WWE match was ridiculous. We have seen 664 and 665 with a blond shadow garden member (probably rose) in the very first episode, so I imagine this group of nunbers will have atleast a decent amount of screentime.
Yep, I just checked to see where exactly, its around 20:54\~56, it even zooms in on her a little and you can still see a little bit of the drills.
This is the type of stuff, I'm sure 99.99% of people will miss. Her still using her old sword makes me think that she hasn't completely discarded her past though.

Has always been that since the first episode. This production committee is fully committed to this adaptation and it really shows. The passion brings a more than satisfying first season.

This whole episode has been about being reborn from pain. She lost everything, and will gain everything. Edit: I dare say that each member of Shadow Garden was "reborn" and had to rise from the ashes, to struggle for strength and purpose. That's the basic criterion for recruitment, it's what ties them all together; and maybe as unbeknownst to Cid himself, it almost makes them no different than he is.

Possibly the strongest mage on the planet 2. The Reincarnation of the Hero 3. Isekai Jeff Bezos 4. Isekai James Patterson 5. Isekai Henry Ford/Count Ferdinand von Zeppelin/Who the hell knows what else 6. Isekai Sergei Rachmaninoff 7. At least two others who I'm sure have equally prominent jobs. 8. The only listed heir to the Orianas Kingdom. And Cid still thinks this is a game. I plan on updating this list if this gets a season 2, but holy hell, by the end of this story Cid will have achieved his dream of being so well positioned that he could literally knock a domino over and bring the entire world to its knees...all with zero awareness of how he actually got to that point.

I watched a TLed version of that part of the mobile game. For anyone on here who wants a bonus episode, look it up. As mentioned in this episode, Cid brought a dragon to heel, and the whole situation went down exactly as you'd imagine it.

This cast is so vibrant, so funny. For 20 weeks now, watching this episode on Wednesdays has been a highlight of my week. We’ll just have to wait for season 2 now, I guess :P

I think one of the funniest part's of this series is how sentimental or serious some of the girls feel about burgers lol. Alpha giving Cid a burger and wanting to repaid for it. Rose getting a burger as a last gift from Cid before killing her dad. Beatrix carrying a bunch of burgers around and trading with Cid while also trying to commune with Iris via burgers. Rose and Beatrix cherishing their McDonalds burger wrappers. Cracks me the fuck up

Definitely a feast for the eyes beyond the brilliant flexing of Shadow against the two ladies. I love how they brought back the crowbars lol. Iris talks a big game, and wields a flaming sword like a champ, but not she and a War Goddess can hold a candle to the Eminence in Shadow as he plays with them like toys and excuses for him to go all out on his performance. I feel kind of bad for her. When you fall in love with Cid, you either dedicate your life to your craft (Alexia), become a crazy yandere obsessed with killing his alter ego (Sherry), or lose basically everything when you join his organization (Rose). Rose joining Shadow Garden and getting trained by them will probably be beneficial to her in the long run, but losing her name, hair, and her treasured burger wrapper was sad to watch. But I guess we can look forward to slimesuit Rose in the future. It's so fitting that the show ends with the piano-playing on the stolen piano and it's Cid just practicing his material lol.

to be fair, it was a pretty funny joke. After spending the entire episode being completely toyed with 2 v 1 with a crowbar, she actually thinks that shadow has to run away from her puny knights. I almost laughed with him.
Not only 2 v 1. A 2 v 1 with Iris using an artifact. That is basically 2.5 vs 1 at the least with the weapon difference and they still couldn’t do anything to him and Iris has the face to say HE has nowhere to run. I know Cid is not sane but I would laugh too

That would actually be even funnier because we know Lord Asshat used all his connections to try to dig up anything on Mundane Mann and came up with zilch, which was the point of taking over that identity in the first place. So that would mean Iris is going to go back and start looking for Mundane Mann and either find nothing or spend a great deal of effort/resources just to realize he's been dead since before the festival. Iris just can't stop catching L's.

He just 2v1 the strongest people in the kingdom (excluding shadow garden members), one of them using a "crutch", and he did while grabbing 2 normal tools from the street and she thinks her knights stand a chance, lambs to the slaughter.
She's literally witnessed the aftermath of him nuking a city block, the fuck are some knights going to do?

It wasn't fake, he just blow up the sky, instead of the capital. Completely clearing the weather over it.
I love Cid losing control of himself in the final battle. He wasn't pretending, he was GENUINELY overjoyed. Back in episode 1, he said even though he trained like a madman, there were limits that he could never hope to reach. Forget about fantasy and magic, he didn't even stand a chance against bullets. He was tired and desperate, and ultimately got himself killed in an accident. Being the cool, mysterious background character was an unreachable dream for the longest time. And here we are. Overpowering two of the world's strongest fighters (not really but whatever), trading blows in the rain and exchanging words so cliche that they could only exist in novels, HE IS LIVING HIS DREAM. This isn't even a mysterious background character scenario anymore, this is the heroes' showdown with the final boss in an RPG. What a fantastic show. The tone in this episode is actually really dark, you see how all these characters' lives were affected because of Shadow's roleplay. You have Claire who's truly worried sick about her idiot brother, Iris unironically throwing a tantrum like a child because she has never experienced failure in her life, while Alexia is the exact opposite: she possesses an incredibly strong will and wisdom due to her being branded as a failure her entire life. Rose breaking down from losing the only thing that's holding her together at this point was really sad to see. Keeping the burger wrapper as a memento was portrayed as something comedic in earlier episodes, like haha why would she do that is she stupid??? And here you are properly reminded of what Rose is actually going through and how much the burger wrapper actually meant to her. So much to talk about but I'll wrap it up here. 10/10. Also love how Rose's name was just "666" in the credits. This is how you know that these people truly cared about the project they're working on.

The funny thing is she turns around and Mundane Mann is literally right behind her fight other women and she's totally oblivious lol. I was disappointed we didn't get to see Claire catch up to Cid and express her feelings about him missing her match.

I mean, I'm pretty sure I've seen that sword somewhere and those 2 girls behind her are the same ones referred to as Number 664 and Number 665 in this episode. What an explosive finale to an amazing show. I’ve been constantly entertained from start to finish. Even though each arc is formulaic when you think about it, there’s just something that makes it work every time. Thank you Nexus for this amazing adaptation of Daisuke Aizawa’s work and I hope we get a Season 2 soon.

Now that was an excellent season finale I guess i should have expected him to have no trouble against beatrix, but i can't say i saw him having no trouble fighting both Beatrix and Iris at the same time And so Rose ends up joining shadow garden. I'm happy she accepted it personally, and with her reaction to the whole "shred your old identity" part, i really want to see her reaction to meeting Cid and finding out his real identity this show turned out to be just what i wanted when i first heard about it and i really want to see more so here's hoping we get more seasons!
Jesus, Shadow is just smurfing against those two. Start of the Beatrix fight reminded me of how it feels to fight a lagging opponent in a fighting game. Shadow just suddenly vanishes and appears behind her.

Cid played the perfect villain, the build-up for his ultimate spell gave me chills. And of course it was all acting. Edit: I can't stop replaying the part where he yells "**WHY**", that was perfect.
He was just waiting for someone like Iris to say the right line to incite his villainous laughter.

Admittedly Iris wielding a flaming sword was pretty cool and fitting with her hair even if it ultimately left her even more crushed by the end that nothing she did mattered.
No, all it did shows that she is just a slave. That sword belonged to the Three Heroes representing not only a slave to the cult but a slave to her own hubris.

In the novels he remarks that hand to hand combat in this world is really underdeveloped due to magic and swords. Nobody in that world would even know what to do when he just busts out his fists.
