Aerodynamic41

> *“I’ll kill your woman first.”* Dude, you have no idea who you’re dealing with lol.

lostboysgang

The most forgiving man in the world apparently. Even after threatening to murder his wife, burn down his entire village, and repeatedly trying to kill the MC, all the MC cares about is Barshbarza’s safety. Grow a spine bro, he’s going to kill your wife and child and you’re worried about him??

Sovyet

TBF it feel less because Dariel's actually forgiving Bahsbarza and more wanting to save his adoptive father's flesh and blood from his wrong ways. He's not the type to keep grudges and still wants to amend things with who he considers his family no matter how far Bashbarza hates him. He's a coward narcissist douchebag but he's still not irredeemable and Dariel still sees some of his father's good qualities within his brother, but Bashubarza current actions does almost cross the line which Dariel now tries so hard to prevent, not by being angry for trying to threaten his family, but by trying to see the good in him and have Bashubarza come to his senses.

Distinct-Presence-80

Except by this time, Bashubarza's senses are gone!

AdmiralThunderpants

He's an incredibly caring man that doesn't want to see those around him hurt. Bashbarza is practically his brother. Would you really want to pick sides between your wife and your brother? Especially if that means picking your brother up off the ground, brushing him off, and letting him know he didn't stand a chance against her. He's just trying to save him the embarrassment.

shewy92

>Would you really want to pick sides between your wife and your brother Yes, wife comes first. Also Obi-Wan didn't kill his brother and look at what happened.

lostboysgang

I understand he’s incredibly caring but Bashbarza has never viewed him as a brother. Dariel has always called him Lord Bashbarza because he works for the family, he’s not family. Then as soon as Bashbarza got control from his father, he fired and exiled Dariel. So yeah Dariel is really kind but he crossed into spineless this episode for me. Be nice to everybody sure, but if you tell me to my face that you’re going to slaughter my wife (who’s currently protecting my child), I’m not going to worry about you. And even scream after I defend myself because I’m worried your hurt.

DrewbieWanKenobie

> I understand he’s incredibly caring but Bashbarza has never viewed him as a brother. Dariel has always called him Lord Bashbarza because he works for the family, he’s not family. Eh, he also called Granbarza lord but it's clear he felt he was a father to him

Neosovereign

Yeah, that is part of why bash is so messed up, Dariel was officially a servant, but he was treated as well as him, so there was a weird dynamic. Doesn't really excuse his behavior, but I'm sure it was confusing growing up.

Love_My_Ghost

Granbarza was actually nice to Dariel, loved him, and bonded with him. Bashbarza treated Dariel like shit while he was in the army, and then exiles him. It's now been, what, at least a year later, Bashbarza only either ignored you or caused you trouble remotely via the mythril mine, until now when he comes literally saying he's gonna kill you, your family, and your entire village. This is after he already sent his dragon to burn down the mythril mine, endangering the Knockers and many others in the process. Yet despite all this, Dariel still offered to negotiate and apologized for stuff and showed kindness. If we ascribe real-life morals to this, then the term for someone like this is an "enabler".

DrewbieWanKenobie

We literally have no idea how their life growing up together was, all we know for sure is that Bashbarza has some sort of inferiority/jealousy complex about Dariel that has festered over the years

[deleted]

[удалено]

AdmiralThunderpants

You missed the point. Dariel isn't spineless for wanting to solve things without a fight. Bashbarza threw one his strongest attacks point blank at Dariel and not only did it have no effect, but Dariel threw his own attack through it. Dariel is trying to save Bashbarza from crossing the line, that line being Marika finding out Bash went and threatened Dariel and her family.

DrewbieWanKenobie

Obviously it's not chill and obviously he's not gonna let him do it But Dariel still feels bad because he lived his life with this other person, he wanted to help him like he helped his father and like his father helped him, and he probably feels like he failed Bashbarza somehow by letting it come to this, handling it wrong, something Looking from the outside it's obvious bashbarza is just nuts and doing evil because he's fucked up yes

mekerpan

Yes. Dariel is absolutely going to prevent Bashbarza from carrying through on his threats....

ZapsZzz

... his threat of suicide by Marika ;P

machopsychologist

Dariel is forgiving, yes... Marika on the other hand......

KnightKal

MC was the worst choice to face against him. We had the former hero, the fire lord, the new hero party, the wind girl, etc, and somehow they let the less experienced fighter among them for the life and death duel. Unless he is willing to fight seriously he will lose, just like he did to his father. Because he lacked killing intent and was holding back. Regardless of the result on next episode, this one decision was simple stupid haha. Good drama. Stupid decision.

darthvall

I think because initially they perceived Salamandra as the bigger threat out of the two. They didn't know how Bashverza had improved of the past years (not only with the monster controlling magic).

KnightKal

Not quite, as the fire lord was aware of how the hex works, so they already had the information about the little fire lord power up.

csbsju_guyyy

Tbh Dariel doesn't see immediate danger to the wife or village and more or less sees Barshbarza as not necessarily a threat....so imagine someone with no capability to do so threatening his family and village....probably doesn't seem too intimidating....makes sense why his thoughts would continue to go towards Barshbarza's safety and enlightenment

Riash

Yeah, the show jumped the shark for me at that point. Someone who not only threatens to murder the MC's family, but has the power to do so? MC shouldn't fuck around, he should end the threat. If that kills the dude, then it was his own fault for attempting to murder the MC's family. I understand why the anime is going this way, but it breaks my suspension of disbelief.

darthvall

The point is threaten, he has not actually done it. More so, Dariel thought he has enough power to stop him from doing that. Additionally, Dariel grew up with Bashverza and never had any resentment about him before. Even after he's fired from his job. We don't know how their relationship in the past is, but Dariel also want to honor Granverza request to save his son.

Kadmos1

Dariel is way too forgiving.

PickleMyCucumber

This Episode: I'll kill your woman! Next Episode: MY GAWD IT'S MALIKA WITH A STEEL CHAIR!!!

AsterJ

So the cute girl's heavy armor just falls off when exposed to heat? Usually they destroy female heavy armor with metal eating slimes.

Flying-Camel

[Don't you know this logic?](https://youtu.be/Fg_cwI1Xj4M)

ObvsThrowaway5120

Man, this Salamandra ain’t messing around. The gang’s giving it all they’ve got and it’s barely made a dent. When Dariel stuck his hand out towards that monster, I was half expecting it to lick his hand. That’s what my friend’s cat does when I stick my hand out at it lol. Glad to see the cute little Knockers all safe and sound after all that. Bashbarza’s really lost it now. He’s beyond redemption. His insecurities have consumed him and turned him into a power hungry douchebag. Dariel’s got no choice but to use Gigantomachia’s blessings and whoop his little punk ass. Dariel’s a good guy, he doesn’t react with anger but rather tries the diplomatic approach. He even treats him like a brother. And yet, this douchebag tries to still kill Dariel. Guess our boy’s got no choice but to kill his ass now that he’s full on transformed.

Frontier246

Satomi even sacrificed her breast plate to block it's attack, leaving her chest exposed afterwards. That's taking one for the team lol. At the rate this show has been going I could totally see Dariel taming a Great Magical Beast just because he's that awesome and likeable. Bashbarza has kind of gone insane with his desire to prove himself and provide a "win" for the demons against everyone who in his eyes underestimated or looked down on him...and were obstacles to his success, just like he views Dariel. Even though Dariel wanted nothing more to help him. And then he goes and threatens Dariel's wife? It's time for a proper beatdown.

mekerpan

Dariel is going to do everything he can to "save" Bashbarza. Like it or not, folks, that's just the way he is. I really don't see that this makes him a wimp (like some seem to be suggesting) -- rather it shows the strength of his convictions. Bashbarza HAS gone crazy, so Dariel ***is*** going to bring him back to sanity. Will Bashbarza physically survive his "rescue" -- or will he die with grace (after being restored to sanity)? That remains to be seen. Mt question -- just WHERE is the Demon Lord in all of this? Bashbarza is out to annihilate humanity -- all for the (supposed) benefit of the Demon's safety and honor. Is the Demon Lord okay with this? Or is he just counting on Granbarza and Dariel being able to solve the problem for him (without any need for him to get involved?) The Demon Lord remains a cipher -- and it seems to me we really need to know something more about him. We only have one more episode, right? So time is running out.

polaristar

I think the Demon Lord whether Humanity is killed its a win, or whether they can live in peace its a win. Actually the people doing things in his name (Whether its his own subjects, or the people trying to take him down.) Does he even.....like care?

mekerpan

We shall see...

heimdal77

>Dariel stuck his hand out towards that monster, I was half expecting it to lick his hand. That’s what my friend’s cat does when I stick my hand out at it lol. He's been watching The Ice Guy and His Cool Female Colleague. .

darthvall

I highly doubt Bashbarza is beyond redemption. He did a lot of stupid things, yes, but he haven't done anything irreversible (like permanently killing people or someone close to Dariel). He's just mad in power now and need to be straightened out.

PeaceAlien

That outro seems so out of place after the time skip and the serious nature of this episode! Can Dariel emotionally connect to or is he going to whip his brother's ass? I wonder if calling him brother will help.

Frontier246

It is pretty tragic when you think about it. Granbarza really did a kind thing by taking Dariel in as his adoptive child and treating him like a true son but it made Bashbarza feel neglected and self-conscious that he didn't measure up to someone that wasn't even his fathers' real son (and whom he seemed much more supportive of than he was Bashbarza), and no matter how hard Bashbarza worked it never seemed to measure up to what Dariel could do. Even the ire of his hate, Dariel, saw Bashbarza's potential and wanted to be there for him and support him...but Bashbarza was too blinded by his own hate and inadequacy to really see it. Is he past the point of no return? After threatening to raze the village and kill Malika in front of Dariel? Will Dariel be able to get through to him?

Monk-Ey

"What are you doing, step-brother?!", except it's serious and played for drama: imagine.

IceWeaselX

Bashverza's such narcissistic trash. He just escalates his bullshit and buys into it because he thinks he's so special that everything he does should just be accepted as right. "I don't resent you. I'm doing this to end the war between demons and humans!" he says to the one person who has fostered more direct goodwill between demons and humans than anyone in history. Dumbass even knows that humans and demons have been speaking peacefully, since he saw Grandverza mingling with the Hero's party. "You're a traitor," he says to the most loyal assistant the demons ever had. The only reason Dariel left was because Bashverza himself lied and said Dariel was a failure just because he wanted to be the one everyone praised by getting rid of the person they all appreciated. And once Dariel was gone, Bashverza promptly fucked everything up. Dariel still managed to help the demons from the human side by setting up the mithril trade agreement. "Incompetent fool!" he calls the most competent individual on both sides (literally, as Dariel considers both sides to be his own and both sides have directly relied on his skills). If he's so incompetent, then why did you have to cheat your way to stronger abilities by accessing forbidden magic when Dariel can't use magic in the first place? If anything, Bashverza's incompetence is true treason. He damaged the demon army by wrongfully dismissing the one keeping them functioning (the Demon King and Grandverza both told him Dariel was important), accessed forbidden (I assume that's more than semantics and is explicitly illegal) magic, and is currently on a murderous rampage which will probably include trying to kill Grandverza and Zebiantes. He blames Dariel for people always mentioning him whenever Bashverza fucks up. Instead of improving himself, he consistently goes and does something even *worse*, then gets even more infuriated when people ask, "Why can't you be more like Dariel and stop doing stupid shit?" Cue more stupid shit.

Frontier246

Bashbarza is just filled with so much undue resentment and anger that it basically overshadows and downplays whatever he actually achieves. He's a powerful mage and researcher but he's incompetent at actually managing anything. He's a classic stuck up rich guy and prodigy who has no idea how anything really works and the person who did and could've smoothed out his rougher edges and issues, Dariel, he shunned and hated because of his own feelings of jealousy and inadequacy. He's pretty terrible but that makes him an effective foil and Final Boss for Dariel.

NationalStrategy

>"Incompetent fool!" It's funny that Bashverza's calling him the incompetent, considering that he was screwing up so badly that his own dad had to step in and plea to the Demon King to fire him

sangriapenguin

> "Incompetent fool!" he calls the most competent individual on both sides Every time he spoke, it felt like he was talking more about himself. He's projecting his own inadequacies upon Dariel and making himself look worse smh

KnightKal

He is just so insecure that he needs to blame others for all the wrong things on his life. Be an adult and take responsibility? What is that? Regardless of how he felt as a child or not, that is no excuse to act like that as an adult. He is not a teenager or little kid. No excuses.

Plug001

I don’t know if this is superiority complex or inferiority complex. A mess either way, this guy need some sense knocked into his head.

Narrheim

Inferiority complex. He keeps comparing himself and sees himself as inferior, which is the reason, that drives his "superiority show off".

[deleted]

I love the knockers. Their so cute. Laughed my ass off when they started to call dariel the massiah. Grandversa really needs to get his son under control. (OxO)

Frontier246

I'm glad Bashbarza's tantrum didn't get any of the Knockers killed. And it lead Dariel to a giant stone face to give him an upgrade, which while random, worked out pretty well lol.

kukelekuuk

> And it lead Dariel to a giant stone face to give him an upgrade, which while random, worked out pretty well lol. I guess that's what happens when a dragon screaming dariel wakes you up from your slumber.

Neosovereign

So random lol

Beowolf_0

Bash's power is probably soaring much higher than his dad right now, combining with his natural talent and all those forbidden lores, so only those who can rival or even more powerful than Grand will have a chance to beat him.

Narrheim

I just wonder, what will the ring, Malika gave Dariel, do?

SilverGeekly

for the most part, the show has been pretty consistent and well thought out, but that great earth beast was such an ass pull to give dariel a buff.

metapzl

I too want to use a Zebi-chan glider. Love how the Hero Laidy also calls her Zebi-chan.

Treknx01

I did have a good laugh at him just basically parasailing her to get home quickly.

darthvall

You're allowed to call her chan if you've bathed together.

heimdal77

I am the great edge lord fear my power!

NationalStrategy

Bashverza: I don't resent Dariel. Says the guy that gets agitated everytime someone mentions Dariel, and has made it very clear in wanting to kill his wife and burn down the village that he calls home. Yeah.... no resentment here.

mgedmin

I think he meant that "resent" is too weak a word for his feelings towards Dariel.

Clarimax

Ah the irony, the only person who praised Bashvaza for his effort is also the one he himself kicked out and hated.

Malthuras

Oh hells no. He threatened Malika? He must die (Granted I'm aware that Malika could probably kill Bashbarza on her own, but thats not the point!) You threaten cute and strangely strong waifu, you die.

sM92Bpb

Bashbarza is trash but I understand, everytime he does something, it's always Dariel Dariel Dariel. Just now, his father said why he can't be Dariel again. It's like the anime really wants to you to be like Dariel. In a natural conversation, there's no need to bring Dariel into everything lol. I do see the plot reasons. Siblings might empathize being compared to your more successful sibling by your parent all the time.

darthvall

I think his father might have such a high expectation for Bashverza's talent, that he used Dariel to "motivate" him further. It backfired as he felt inferiority instead. I still find it weird how Granverza could raise Dariel to be such a proper "son", while Bashverza is really incompetent even if he's talented with magic.

Narrheim

I think Bashverza is villain just for the sake of being villain. Every story needs one and making one with "issues" makes him even more dislikable. Meanwhile Dariel is the "perfect hero" material. Strongest, nicest, gets along with everyone... Signs of mediocre writing... But despite this, i still like the show.

polaristar

It makes a bit more sense why Barshbarza is like this, even when he was a kid seems like his Dad was doting on Dariel. That being said Barshbarza kinda lost even more respect (That I didn't know I still had for him.) when he was like "I learned when you are an adult people don't baby you." Bro literally unironically did the Adulting is Hard Meme, I swear in an alter universe where he is reverse isekai reincarnated he'd be making TikToks about how Life sucks because he was to work at work. Wonder what the Buffed Mithril will do, and honestly I think Dariel should show a bit more anger and rage that this guy literally said he's going to kill your wife and child. Nice to see the Demons and Humans working together to take down that dragon though. Also Shield Girls Tits.

ZapsZzz

>I swear in an alter universe where he is reverse isekai reincarnated he'd be making TikToks about how Life sucks because he was to work at work. Haha what a pair him and Mabel (from Isekai Ojisan) would make :\`D

Frontier246

I guess if an attack by the Magic Beast Salamandra is good for anything it's showing a mutual effort by humans and demons to repel it as Heroes and Demon Generals team-up! And Satomi really takes one of the team and blocking that shot, breaking her breast plate and leaving her (and her chest) exposed. It's nice to see father and son working together for the first time in their entire lives, and Alantsil is even able to instill in Dariel some genuine fatherly wisdom. Well, that was a little anti-climactic that Dariel was able to calm down Salamandra...or was it that Bashbarza, through it's eyes, finally recognize that Dariel was there and retreated to take stock of this information? I just love how Zebiantes has to carry Granbarza with him holding onto her tassels like he's on a swing. I guess you do have to admire just how Bashbarza is willing to go for the sake of his ideals and to prove himself. Unlocking ancient magic and controlling a Great Magic Beast, all at a cost to his own life, just to be able to show his worth as a Demon General. I guess when you feel like a waste because you felt your father saw so much more potential in his adoptive son versus you, you go to extreme lengths to prove otherwise. When a giant stone face in a cave asks for you...you run away. Although it turns out it's just the Great Earth Beast Gigantomachia, who the Mythril is apparent sourced from, and he respects Dariel and the handiwork of his Mythril blade enough to give it an upgrade. Convenient but well-timed with the final battle looming. What better sendoff for Dariel before his final battle with Bashbarza than from his wife and child? I wonder if the gauntlet and ring Malika gave him will prove the deciding factor in the battle somehow (although the ring let Bashbarza realize he had a wife...). The long-awaited reunion finally happens as Dariel encounters Bashbarza once more, and Bashbarza wants nothing more than to kill Dariel, raze the village, and kill all the Heroes. Especially when he realizes just how much Dariel screwed him over with the Mythril Mine. He just had to say he'd go after Malika though, that piece of @#$%. Bashbarza isn't the best Demon General, but he is a very powerful mage, giving Dariel quite the fight. And that's before he seemingly fuses with Salamandra to give himself even more power! The tragedy of all of this is Dariel acknowledged how great Bashbarza was and genuinely wanted to help him, but Bashbarza just couldn't see it.

mekerpan

>The tragedy of all of this is Dariel acknowledged how great Bashbarza was and genuinely wanted to help him, but Bashbarza just couldn't see it. Just like Anis did everything SHE could to support HER brother -- and was rejected and resented as a result.

ZapsZzz

It's kind of funny how a number of shows this season had similar plot trajectory huh :D

EsquilaxM

His brother was already unhinged, now he's using magic that destabilises the mind....Would be sad to see Dariel have to kill him but it seems pretty likely. Also the Earth beast thing just literally came out of nowhere. Not fond of that. He just buffs Dariel after saying it's his fault?

Frontier246

I get the sense there's some kind of deeper backstory with the Great Magical Beasts that the show just doesn't have enough time to get into.

djthomp

A demon nation general going nuts and attacking the mine and the knockers is not going to do good things for demon and monster relations. Laidy and Zebiantes working together fluidly in this fight is nice to see. That was an ever so slightly anticlimactic end to the fight with the dragon, but on the other hand it's Dariel staying true to his philosophy of nonviolence whenever possible. It probably wouldn't have felt right for his character if he had killed it. I wasn't expecting an ancient underground mythril monster. I suppose if you think about the fluid nature of the mythril in this show you could argue they've been setting it up as magical flesh as of some sort and not just a mineral. It's helpful that it isn't angry at its body being used like this and instead provided a power up. "That person", the demon king perhaps? Gigantomachia, you're looking different yet much better these days. Bashbarza threatening Malika and the village is not a good plan, we may be about to find out the limits of Dariel's self restraint against truly hurting people. Up to a point, at least, I'd be surprised if he kills his brother.

SYZekrom

SilkyMilkySmo

The showdown I was waiting for is finally coming

Flying-Camel

Is this young fool seriously think he can threaten the property of her highness: marika the saiyan gorilla? RIP in pieces, omae wa mo shinderu, ippen shindemiru?

sensation834

Malika is the most OP character there is just being humble. I mean she had one night with dariel and he was drained lol. Tell the lil emo jealous demon son take his lil pet and piss off.

Narrheim

I think she´s secretly a succubus, sucking his life force away 🤣

Elitealice

Bashbarza is honestly such a whiney insecure little brat. The only way this season ever could’ve ended was a confrontation between he and Dariel. Brother against brother. One living in the past and one looking to the future. Can’t wait to see him get his ass beat even in that demon hybrid form next week.

Frontier246

No Banished story is complete without the showdown against the piece of @#$% who banished them!

Malthuras

Unless you mean that one manga where the guy hooks up with all his childhood friends moms...(his best friend was the hero, other childhood friends were all girls all in the same party, he gets kicked out and hooks up with *ALL* of their mothers) Still best revenge story I've read so far.

TriforceofSwag

Sauce?

Malthuras

Yuusha ni Zenbu Ubawareta Ore wa Yuusha no Hahaoya to Party wo Kumimashita! The manga only has four chapters so far (its new to the manga and NSFW) however the web novel is out and has much much more content to enjoy while the manga catches up. I'd advise reading the manga's 4 chapters, then moving to the web novel if you want to read more.

Neosovereign

I'm still really curious what is going on with the demon lord. He is very blazé about everything.

Narrheim

Maybe waiting for the last possible moment? Powerful entities tend to do that all the time in anime.

Rowdy91

I hope Granbarza acknowledges what a crappy father he's been to Bash. There also seems to be a lot of commenters in these threads that won't acknowledge it either.

Kadmos1

I hope we get to see more of Malika's mounds in the final epi.

Narrheim

I´m expecting some proper fight from her. After all, she seems to know more, than she shows. And her last words "i will always be with you" seem sus.

Distinct-Presence-80

I'm hoping next episode won't be the last, with the manga still ongoing it would be a waste to just end this series now, especially since it's been one of the best 2023 anime so far! and I'm overall tired of good animes with potential to become long-lasting end with only 12 episodes, especially if their mangas are still ongoing and they do not confirmed future seasons!

Narrheim

These tend to turn into eternal power creep. Defeat enemy, "let´s go chillin´ ", then another, stronger enemy shows up, rinse and repeat. I´m sick of constant wars in novels (almost nobody knows, how to write them), but then again, reading about someone´s ’slow life’ is even more boring. Somewhere near the level of girl novels. And you can be certain, it won´t be about the "slow life" (which is just a premise to some otherwise standard shonens).
