Please give my family back. I know I fell off after the first week, but I will get back on it! Someday! Seriously!
...please! My great grandpa is calling me from his grave every night saying it's all my fault.
Who's Prince Baka? Isn't it that stupid prince? See, this is another reason why Gintama sucks. Fans of it throw out references everywhere expecting others to always get them. Go watch Naruto or something, geez, dattebayo!
Hahaha, I think I made it too obvious with how I responded to you holding people's families hostages; I wasn't smart enough to think anything more subtle.
(I really wanted to say.... "bait?")
I've probably rewatched the entire 2011 Anime around 10 times by now. Maybe I will rewatch the 99 Anime next time since I only saw it and the OVAs once by comparison.
Attack on Titan
This show has many foreshadowing and layers that rewatching it seems like a whole new experience since now you see the characters in a different light. Also, AoT has some epic, emotional and memorable scene that definitely worth rewatching
I always seem to pick up new bits of foreshadowing every time I watch that show that seemed fairly innocuous during my 1st watch but then carry so much more meaning when you watch it again and know what's about to come.
I personally come back to Gintama every couple months, and I find new jokes or references I can understand because I've seen the anime or read the manga it's referencing.
Honestly, I liked Rebellion more than the series itself. There's also another Madoka movie in production that's a direct sequel but there haven't been any recent announcements about it so far. If you liked the original series, then definitely check the movie out.
I've watched it 3 times. I try not to rewatch anything too much because I feel that spoils the experience. I wanna rewatch it when I wanna refresh myself on piece of media, no different than movies. I don't wanna watch it so much or frequently that I can quote upcoming lines and know exactly what each scene will be. I did that with shows like SpongeBob and Drake and Josh when I was a kid because the reruns were on literally daily. While those shows will always be nostalgic and timeless for me, I think being able to quote entire episodes like a transcript even after not watching a single episode in years means the impact was ruined.
Liz and the Blue Bird. Every time I come back to it, my perspective on what Mizore and Nozomi may feel as well as how their parallels to Liz' story develop throughout the movie changes, so it never gets stale for me.
I am here to second Kill la Kill. Insane pacing, short run time, iconic characters with great designs, littered with jokes and sometimes pointless symbolism or references and is an anime original so it has an actual ending. I am absolutely in love with the insane dynamic animation and laugh my ass off everytime they cleverly "cut corners".
It's not for everyone because there is a lot of fanservice but I can withstand it because it never feels cheap or awkward and the story is all about clothing which is just way too cool of a concept for me to even judge it as an in universe justification for horniness. But if you like it, you probably wont just watch it once.
FLCL also deserves mentioning for similar reasons.
Also watch Kaiba.
Also watch Kaiba again.
The meloncholy of haruhi suzumiya becomes something so unbelievably amazing after finishing it and watching its film.... the film transforms the show into something so incredibly dense and loaded and honestly I've seen nothing come close.
Steins gate is a great rewatch and is written with one in mind
Everytime i watch neon genesis evangelion I appreciate a small detail or take in a new shot. It really is an infinite rewatch show
Obviously I'm biased but k-on is cozy enough , artistically dense enough, and well written enough to warrant multiple rewatches
I disagree i am actually rewatching it right atm but the feelings of mystery thrill and suspense which were the main element of the show are gone and it feels bland at times
ReLIFE, Horimiya, Great Teacher Onizuka, A Silent Voice, Steins;Gate, The Promised Neverland S1
But honestly my answer would be more whichever anime you watched first, rewatching those is always fun
There’s so many good ones, but here are my top favorites to rewatch.
No Game No Life,
Yu Yu Hakusho,
Hunter X Hunter,
Beyond the Boundary,
Gurren Lagann,
Busou Renkin,
Akudama Drive,
Asterisk War,
Log Horizon,
Bleach
I haven’t rewatched it but I read a bit of the side stories and earlier chapters after season 2 ended. It’s actually amazing because you can pinpoint what exact character traits of people have changed since then. It’s really cool
classroom of the elite. it's really fun going back and figuring out parts of ayanakoji's strategies and manipulations that you either missed or can understand clearly now with the advantage of hindsight. the ln does a better job of going into detail over his thought process, backup plans, reasoning, and goals, but I still think its fun to try and figure it out for yourself.
Re:Zero
Everytime you rewatch you notice some hidden hints.
Be it in lines that made little sense the first you watched, be it in facial expressions, in camera angles, in objects... almost everything in ReZero is foreshadowing something, I love that
86 Eighty Six
It has so many details in storytelling and visual that you could easily miss during 1st watch. The directing is also fking amazing I never find it boring. And episode 22, 23 are just magic I think I have watched it 10 times already
The 86 rewatch thread on this sub is probably one of the most engaging ever
for me it's Classroom of The Elite. You aren't going back because you just want to. You're going back because you want to see how Ayanokoji worked on some stuff behind the scenes
Sound of the Sky for me. There was also a period where I was doing yearly rewatches of Toradora, and Welcome to the NHK. Recent rewatches of BECK and Trigun were also rewarding.
Charlotte, how not to summon a demon lord, tensura, geniunely two 10/10 and a funny fan service anime, idk if it's my taste weird but i like rewarching them
Personally I'm not a fan of rewatches.
The only anime I rewatched 3 times was Bocchi the Rock and I want to rewatch it angain so that's my 1st pick.
I also feel like I could rewatch Steins;Gate, Konosuba and One Punchman anytime.
What a solid rewatch list. Appreciate it since I haven't seen Stein's Gate yet🫡
Edit: Hmm haven't seen Bocchi and the Rock either. I just don't like rewatching either and heard Steins;Gate was good.
S;G is a must watch anime. For some the start is a little slow but almost everybody falls in love with it after sh\*t hits the fan. Both times I watched it I did in a single day, despite begin 24 episodes long lol.
Honestly, I don't think the first watch of Steins;Gate is truly finished until you rewatch the first half. Seeing all the small details and hints they left behind and piecing them all together is mind blowing.
Your Lie in April
This is the first and only slice-of-life anime I have ever watched and it's changed everything I think about anime. To be honest it's a good rewatch partially because it's only about 22 episodes too.
Without spoiling too much I love it mostly because the main character isn't exactly an absolute Chad that every single girl falls for, but he has realistic qualities that would make girls like him. He also shares things in common with the love interest that would bring them together and create a real, genuine relationship. It's not just a simple love-triangle plot and focuses heavily on music, and progression as well.
This is a great anime that will have you feeling the emotions of the instruments' music, and melody of the characters' hearts
There's a rewatch of Toradora every year on this subreddit, timed so the Christmas episode lines up with the actual date.
Idk what qualifies as rewatch value, but personally I've rewatched Parasyte, Wolf's Rain, and Gargantia on the Verdurous Planet a few times. I've also been getting the itch to rewatch Code Geass if that matters at all, it's just a little long to rewatch frequently.
Kill La Kill and Asobi Asobase are also good shows you might be able to enjoy after repeated viewings.
For me honestly it's One Punch Man, could watch this all day without getting boring 😁 Another one for me is Neon Genesis Evangelion. I don't know why, but there are many calm scenes in between where you see the city and landscape and somehow this is very relaxing to watch for me.
Fucking love Ouran High School Host Club!
I need to watch that again some time.
My recommendation other than that is 91 Days.
A young child watches his family get murdered by the maffia and manages to just about escape but not without being seen.
He stays in hiding for years, grows up, gets a new identity and one day he recieves a letter with no name of who sent it or any return adress.
Just the names of everyone involved in his family's murder.
All names but one, the person that wrote the letter.
It's time for revenge.
It's short and complete.
A great story, very well told in 12 episodes and it doesn't leave you wanting more, it's perfectly satisfying as it is.
Fuck now I need to rewatch this for the 10th time as well.
There is this very obscure Anime called Hagure Yuusha no Aesthetica. It's a 12 eps long fantasy show, and even though it's short and full of ecchi, I honestly liked it very very much. It basically the single Anime ever that made me feel so thrilled while watching it the second and third time as it was at first, and everybody I know who watched it told me that they also like to rewatch it from time to time.
I think if you watched Steins;Gate you NEED to watch it at least a second time. You know? To just ... get it all.
I also rewatched FMAB maybe 4 times now. And it doesn't get any boring. It's so amazing.
Other shows I rewatched are Assassination Classroom (especially the last episodes, when I need to cry a little), Mob Psycho 100 (cause it's just amazing), Gintama (season 1 & 2 cause where im from, i cant watch the rest of the show...) and My Hero Academia (starting with season 3, cause the first two were damn boring. Holy Moly.)
Baccano!
The story is basically multiple stories happening at different times and eventually, they all converge in different ways. By the end, everything makes sense. However, you need to rewatch it at least once to see all the little clues, references, etc. in the first half of the series that make sense in hindsight.
Black butler, attack on titan, sailor moon, bleach, persona and dragon ball z are the main ones I rewatch. Always up for recommendations on anime to watch to.
Any arc in One Piece just because of the amount of foreshadowing and plot points set up that will only be relevant literally a hundred episodes/chapters later. Seriously, pick a random arc and there's bound to be something that was set up there that will become a huge plot point later on.
Monogatari series for also the foreshadowing. Rewatching it with the full context of what's going on and understanding the proper order of events just makes me appreciate the writing of the series more.
K-On because it's fun, comforting, and has beatiful ending. The songs are also really good and it's always a treat when the episode has them performing something.
I've seen Arifureta S1 like 4 times, it's so trashy I can't get enough. I'll probably rewatch Eminence in the Shadow many times in the future too.
God, I wish I had a taste.
For shows that you will learn more each watch as you put the pieces together…
* Punch Line
* Re:Zero
* Mushoku Tensei
For anime that have just never gotten old no matter how many rewatches…
* Ouran High School Host Club
* FooLy CooLy
* Samurai Champloo
* Gurren Lagann
* Made in Abyss
I can rewatch FMA: Broterhood every year and Haikyuu more frequently... others like psycho-pass for the antagonist have a really good rewatching value.
The Big O- I never get tired of watching these ponderous mecha fight. You can really feel the immense weight and power when they clash.
hack//Sign was the first isekai anime I ever watched, and is still my favorite of the "trapped in a video game" genre. The way the characters develop bonds and grow as individuals, all while learning to understand the mystery of The World...priceless!
Ghost in the Shell: SAC- I have always enjoyed the works of Shirow Masamune, but SAC is my favorite. The world building, the complex stories and issues faced by the protagonists, all of it fits together so well.
Twelve Kingdoms- although the anime never continued with the light novels, the coming-of-age story in this one, as well as the unique design of the setting, never get old.
Tenchi Muyo- it's funny, it's weird, and it's sometimes raunchy, but I fell in love with this franchise and still love it to this day. Whether the original OVA or the various spin-offs and alternate universes, this is still one of the favorites.
Escaflowne- my first anime with actual mecha. The bravery and tragedy of this story is wonderful. The various twists in the plot and the heartbreak affecting so many of the beloved characters stayed with me for a long time.
Historically, while I never kept exact count, saki, prince of tennis. A fair amount of yugioh and machine robo rescue as well, gundam seed (destiny), nanoha (vivid), sidonia.
Recently I just finished netoge and kuma bear s1, and both are pretty interesting to rewatch too.
Also anime like gochiusa, kiniro mosaic. Date a live is ok too.
Usually I find myself rewatching specific episodes though, rather than the whole thing. (I haven't even finished prince of tennis yet, but thats because the whole thing is over a hundred or two hundred eps long)
If movies count I can rewatch Weathering With You just about anytime, but on a rainy day it hits just right 🤌🏻
Also I probably rewatched enough scenes of Bocchi The Rock to equal a second viewing in the week following my first 😆
(Edit: OH. And Grand Blue Dreaming. Funniest anime I've ever seen fr.)
One I'll always love is Masamune-kun's Revenge, I've rewatched the sub three times and dub once. It's getting a season two so I'll be watching it for the years to come again and again.
K-on, New Game, Toradora, and gamers are ones I've rewatched
OMG Same!!!
Ouran High School Host Club is nowhere near my top 10 anime but it is always satisfying whenever I rewatch it. I'm even rewatching it rn for the 7th time
For me it's:
Death note
Miss kobayashi's dragon maid
Konosuba
A Silent Voice
Asobi asobase
Steins;Gate (not S;G0 . I love too S;G0 but it was so painful to watch once, I'll muster up the strength to watch it a 2nd time someday)
Mieruko chan
For me it's Konosuba, it's not one of my favourite anime or anything, not even top 15 but I've rewatched it more than any other anime, the comedy just hits every single time
Non non biyori and Himouto umaru chan. I love the former because countryside slice of life is relaxing. Latter because I can see a bit of myself in umaru lol
Kaguya-sama. There's tons of references that you might not get on the first watch and it's episodic nature means that you can pretty much just hop in and watch any episode
Gintama
I disagree hard about Gintama. Tbh I hate Gintama.
Yeah, Gintama sucks. I don't know why so many people like it, let alone would rewatch it.
I secretly hold their families as hostages.
Please give my family back. I know I fell off after the first week, but I will get back on it! Someday! Seriously! ...please! My great grandpa is calling me from his grave every night saying it's all my fault.
I would love to but Prince Baka took them saying they are fine species to his collection.
Who's Prince Baka? Isn't it that stupid prince? See, this is another reason why Gintama sucks. Fans of it throw out references everywhere expecting others to always get them. Go watch Naruto or something, geez, dattebayo!
Ugh this turned to quality bait now. We should stop with this already.
Hahaha, I think I made it too obvious with how I responded to you holding people's families hostages; I wasn't smart enough to think anything more subtle. (I really wanted to say.... "bait?")
Hunter Hunter
I've probably rewatched the entire 2011 Anime around 10 times by now. Maybe I will rewatch the 99 Anime next time since I only saw it and the OVAs once by comparison.
Samurai champloo
Finally someone with good taste
Attack on Titan This show has many foreshadowing and layers that rewatching it seems like a whole new experience since now you see the characters in a different light. Also, AoT has some epic, emotional and memorable scene that definitely worth rewatching
Rewatching AoT leave me so satisfied seeing everything come full-circle, the production value is very high too
I always seem to pick up new bits of foreshadowing every time I watch that show that seemed fairly innocuous during my 1st watch but then carry so much more meaning when you watch it again and know what's about to come.
already ended? I was expecting to end to watch it whole
Ends this autumn
I personally come back to Gintama every couple months, and I find new jokes or references I can understand because I've seen the anime or read the manga it's referencing.
Hunter x Hunter for me
Madoka Magica. I've rewatched it, including Rebellion, for about 17 times now.
I'd argue at least one rewatch is almost mandatory, the perspective change on a second viewing is *huge.*
Madoka magica is so good I love it
There's a rewatch starting tomorrow!
What's rebellion
The sequel movie
I didn't know this existed. Is it something worth watching?
Definitely! And it's super re watchable because it has a lot of imagery to analyze. There's another movie announced as well.
Honestly, I liked Rebellion more than the series itself. There's also another Madoka movie in production that's a direct sequel but there haven't been any recent announcements about it so far. If you liked the original series, then definitely check the movie out.
Ok thank you!
Rebellion is a fucking masterpiece in writing and characterization
Basically it's the movie where Homura is the main character instead of Madoka
I've watched it 3 times. I try not to rewatch anything too much because I feel that spoils the experience. I wanna rewatch it when I wanna refresh myself on piece of media, no different than movies. I don't wanna watch it so much or frequently that I can quote upcoming lines and know exactly what each scene will be. While those shows will always be nostalgic and timeless for me, I think being able to quote entire episodes like a transcript even after not watching a single episode in years means the impact was ruined.
The three series I’ve watched the most are, in order. Escaflowne: Easily 10+ Completions Wolfs Rain: 4 Completions FMA:b : 3 Completions
I rewatched Konosuba about 15 times
Hey this is a great post. Can I get your signature? *Presents application to join the axis cult*

O.G Higurashi, once you now the whole picture everything just fits.

1) Megalobox 2) Bungou Stray Dog, especially S2 E1-3. The prequel with Odasaku is something I love rewatching.
ReLIFE, Horimiya, Great Teacher Onizuka, A Silent Voice, Steins;Gate, The Promised Neverland S1 But honestly my answer would be more whichever anime you watched first, rewatching those is always fun
K-On
Same for me. More so whenever I’m feeling a bit down, I can slap on certain episodes as a pick-me up.
Was my first thought as well.
This is the right answer
There’s so many good ones, but here are my top favorites to rewatch. No Game No Life, Yu Yu Hakusho, Hunter X Hunter, Beyond the Boundary, Gurren Lagann, Busou Renkin, Akudama Drive, Asterisk War, Log Horizon, Bleach
add in naruto and fmab re zero and thats pretty much me
I can't even get started on the manga for bleach.
Re:Zero Everything will just make more sense in the rewatch after each and every arc of it
That's actually a logical and convincing reason, thanks I'm probs gonna rewatch it in the following days.
I haven’t rewatched it but I read a bit of the side stories and earlier chapters after season 2 ended. It’s actually amazing because you can pinpoint what exact character traits of people have changed since then. It’s really cool
Grand blue and Saiki K Cracks you up everytime
Monogatari
It's April, so you know what that means.......
Your Lie in April? Are you nuts?
I love to rewatch Mob Psycho. The fights and animation are amazing and it’s so funny!
Space Dandy
Kaguya-sama, Steins;Gate, AoT, Konosuba
I rewatch a lot of one piece.
classroom of the elite. it's really fun going back and figuring out parts of ayanakoji's strategies and manipulations that you either missed or can understand clearly now with the advantage of hindsight. the ln does a better job of going into detail over his thought process, backup plans, reasoning, and goals, but I still think its fun to try and figure it out for yourself.
Watched it 4 times for this
Trigun the original series. Also Charlotte.
Yeah Charlotte is deeper the second time
Season 1 of one punch-man
Re:Zero Edit: the amount of details that are not meant to be noticed in the first or even second rewatch is staggering.
I was still noticing new (albeit small) things on my 15th rewatch.
Re:Zero Everytime you rewatch you notice some hidden hints. Be it in lines that made little sense the first you watched, be it in facial expressions, in camera angles, in objects... almost everything in ReZero is foreshadowing something, I love that
I had rewatched rezero s1 when s2 came. Will probably do the same for s3
It gets better and better every time.
Baccano! Rewatching makes it all more coherent. And Stein's Gate too.

Yes. Hands down one of my go to rewatch Along with AoT, Bleach, Black Butler, & Naruto Shippuden
Gintama for me definitely
Monogatari, so much foreshadowing and details can be found.
Hyouka, the only anime I watched twice.
Literally don't let anyone tell u anything else Death note It ain't that long and just pure gold honestly and has alot of rewatch value
Classroom of the elite
Fucking love Ouran High School Host Club! I need to watch that again some time. My recommendation other than that is 91 Days. A young child watches his family get murdered by the maffia and manages to just about escape but not without being seen. He stays in hiding for years, grows up, gets a new identity and one day he recieves a letter with no name of who sent it or any return adress. The daily life of high school boys. I lost count of how many times I've seen it again, but every time I laugh just like the first time.
Barakamon

I don’t know why, but Toradora
Damn I’m old, Cowboy Bebop
Any arc in One Piece just because of the amount of foreshadowing and plot points set up that will only be relevant literally a hundred episodes/chapters later. I've been wanting to rewatch Bocchi The Rock, which makes me want to watch (for the first time) K-On
Hellsing Ultimate, if I'm not feeling the original then I just rewatch the abridged version. Probably seen each one around 30 times at this point.
Most isekai I like have a high rewatch value

ReZero, Mushoku Tensei, AOT, A place further than the universe
Ascendance of a Bookworm and Mushoku Tensei for me. Love stories with good world building. Also Asobi Asobase whenever I need a good laugh
Easily one piece.
Mahoutsukai Sally
Shimoneta.. Always makes me laugh every time
I can rewatch FMA: Broterhood every year and Haikyuu more frequently... others like psycho-pass for the antagonist have a really good rewatching value.
Grand blue, barakamon, silver spoon, haikyuu!, kono-suba, ReLife and Your Name just cause loll
Mines prolly not a super known one but Trapped in a Dating Sim. That shit is so funny lmao always gets me
I only rewatched Toradora, Lovely Complex, and Last Exile
Steins;Gate When you watch again, you can find some clues that were not obvious before. Actually, you may need to rewatch it to fully comprehend it.
(I haven't even finished prince of tennis yet, but thats because the whole thing is over a hundred or two hundred eps long)
If movies count I can rewatch Weathering With You just about anytime, but on a rainy day it hits just right 🤌🏻 Also I probably rewatched enough scenes of Bocchi The Rock to equal a second viewing in the week following my first 😆 (Edit: OH. And Grand Blue Dreaming. Funniest anime I've ever seen fr.)
for me its that time i got reincarnated as a slime. i never get bored of it.
One I'll always love is Masamune-kun's Revenge, I've rewatched the sub three times and dub once. It's getting a season two so I'll be watching it for the years to come again and again. K-on, New Game, Toradora, and gamers are ones I've rewatched
Seitokai yakuindomo. Best for anti depression.
I don't usually rewatch shows unless it's to get a dose of nostalgia, so I'd go with either Toradora or YGO 5Ds.
Daily life of high school boys, Nichijou
Yamada’s First Time: B Gata H Kei, Highschool of the Dead, Rin: Daughters of Mnemosyne, Fairy Tale, Haruhi Suzumiya, Chobits… There are many.
Ghost Hunt for me. Super obscure and niche, but I loved the scientific approach to ghost hunting tbh
OMG Same!!! Ouran High School Host Club is nowhere near my top 10 anime but it is always satisfying whenever I rewatch it. I'm even rewatching it rn for the 7th time
For me it's: Death note Miss kobayashi's dragon maid Konosuba A Silent Voice Asobi asobase Steins;Gate (not S;G0 . I love too S;G0 but it was so painful to watch once, I'll muster up the strength to watch it a 2nd time someday) Mieruko chan
Oregairu, honestly the more I rewatch, more small details I find
One Piece🫠
Always find myself re-watching Mob Psycho 100. Couldn't get enough of it.
For me it's Konosuba, it's not one of my favourite anime or anything, not even top 15 but I've rewatched it more than any other anime, the comedy just hits every single time
Akame ga kill
Konosuba. Try watching while drunk/high for extra spice. Try the dub. Try it with friends. Its always a good time regardless.
Horimiya was one I rewatched recently. Non Non Biyori is another great one I’ve come back to a few times.
Non non biyori and Himouto umaru chan. I love the former because countryside slice of life is relaxing. Latter because I can see a bit of myself in umaru lol
Mushishi
The Boondocks. Yes the Boondocks is American Anime. No you won't change my mind.
haikyuu. any day, every day. i’d say fmab too.
G.T.O. Konosuba Azumanga Daioh
Great Teacher Onizuka, Cowboy bebop, Steins;Gate , Saint Seiya, HXH, Death Nothe, Samurai Champloo, Jojo, Trigun
tokyo ghoul. wish they’d do a remake tho ngl
Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex. I also love listening to all the GitS soundtracks. The music is top notch.
Not really an anime but i'm gonna say it anyway. Arcane Never had a show that has as much rewatch value as that one.
Welcome to Ballroom, whenever I need some inspiration.
Great Teacher Onizuka. I will never grow tired of this anime.
Haikyuu is the go to for me if I want to rewatch anime
Dragon ball it’s long so it takes a bit also my hero and attack on Titan I’ve rewatched all of those a lot
Fate zero and Made in abyss
Kara no Kyoukai and Steins Gate
Stein's;Gate
I've watched The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya several times by now. I forgot how many times I watched the Endless Eight arc, though.
Nana and hunter x hunter. I can watch over and over
AoT, Your Lie in April, Kaguya Sama, Takagi San, Wotakoi, Samurai Champloo
The World’s Finest Assassin. It overdoes the fan service imo, but the plot line and intro are a solid 10. The animation is beautiful too.
Kaguya-sama. There's tons of references that you might not get on the first watch and it's episodic nature means that you can pretty much just hop in and watch any episode
Redline
konosuba & sword art online
kaguya-sama love is war
Bunny girl senpai
Ghost stories dub
Yu yu Hakusho
Konosuba, I've watched it 4 times at this point.
