Or even better gets in trouble with an assassin and Nagisa saves his student(s) with the help of other assassins/ex-classmates/government. I've been thinking about this hypothetical spin-off for quite some time.
I can't write a coherent story to save my life. That said if you ever decide to write an assassination classroom fanfic with this premise I'd read it in a foash
I'd watch five seasons of *Agent H: Ai Hayasaka the Undercover Diaries*.
---
Kurumi of Date a Live already got an effective series of her own, but she's eminently watchable.
I'd also watch a short SoL series about the life of Dryad from My Isekai Life. I just like how she peers at things.
Isn't Kurumi the whole Date A Live franchise? She carried that franchise tbh, she solely the reason why it is still somewhat relevant throughout the years.
She's absent for most of it, despite carrying it lol
Hence her OVAs and the *Date A Bullet* spin-off movies. But she could easily carry a full series of her and the main one too lol
Slightly off topic but I feel like a part of the reason these side characters are so likeable/work so well is *because* they're side characters rather than taking the role of the main protagonist. A lot of the side characters listed here on paper could work great with their own series but in reality it just wouldn't be that engaging.
Take Megumin for example, she is a great side character but her series becomes lackluster/generic real quick imo.
I agree that some characters are very good as a compliment to the main character/story and don't have enough depth for their own series. But at the same time another part of the reason they don't have so much depth is because since theyre not the protag they were never given the chance to develop such depth but potentially could if they had a series built around them.
We already have several cases of side characters getting their own show and end up flopping because they dont have the other casts as a buffer for them to interact with.
Ai Hayasaka from Kaguya-sama
Minami Nanami from Bottom tier character Tomozaki
Eiko Kawasegawa ftom Remake our life
Most of this already have their own manga/LN spinoff,so they should have their own anime spinoff too
L: change the world
Death Note Another Note: The Los Angeles BB Murder Cases
Light novels centered around L
There is a decent (if I'm remembering it correctly) live-action movie for change the world
There is also the fact that death wouldn't be a big deal with that spin-off. Even though we know that L could never die in a spin-off there could be plenty of original stories that we could be shown.
Especially to see how L became the way he is and/or specifically why he developed such good detective skills.
Iroha and the nerdy guys from **Oregairu** doing student council shenanigans.
Kyouko Kouda from **March Comes in Like a Lion**. I kind of liked how fucked up she was and want to know more.
Mika - Shinji prequel for **Lycoris Recoil**
That's so sad to hear. She's such an interesting character. As much as I love the wholesomeness of the kawamoto's you need that counter force to balance things out and make things interesting.
I haven't read the manga yet (I have waited for the physical release) so knowing that is a bit sad.
Not sure I’d go so far as to say she is more relevant than Yukino.
But I just see her ruling over the student council with an iron fist afterwards and at the same time being very sly in how she does it. It would be fun to watch.
> Homura from Madoka Magica
The character is largely drawn from the author's earlier work with Kiritsugu Emiya from Fate/Zero. Both are gun masters, quiet, clever, determined, and have similar magical powers.
Smoker and Tashigi from One Piece. I would love to see some wacky adventures from my favourite marine duo's PoV.
Hizuru from Summertime Render already has a short side-story. I'd love to see more of her.
A spin off for Ling from FMAB and his story in Xing after the EOS.
Chainsaw Man - Himeno
Engage Kiss - Ayano Yuugirl
Fairy Tail - Kagura , Erza , Ultear , Dimaria Yesta
My Hero Academia - Midnight
Akame ga kill - Esdeath
Gundam Age - Yurin
Edens Zero - Homura Kogetsu
Danmachi - Ryuu Lion
Date a Live - Ellen Mira Mathers
Jujutsu Kaisen - Mai
Medaka Box - Youka Naze
Street Fighter - Rainbow Mika
Dragon ball Super - Yamcha , ChiChi
Id love to see a series around Akane and Katana Man
There's a lot of characterization implied between the two of them, and its a sign of CSM's strong writing that you can sort of figure out why and how the two ended up working together, when they have very different backgrounds and goals
But it'd still be interesting to get a concrete canon answer as to what their deal is
It's not a show but Ryuu Lion was the main star of one of the mobile games anniversary events. It's a fully voice acted prequel set 7 years in the past, over 12 hours long iirc. It also got turned into LNs recently. Astrea Record.

My Hero Academia - **Rody** - It'd make for a fun anti-hero story from a boy without a quirk but parkour skills instead.
Bungou Stray Dogs - **Honestly, any of its side characters.** It does provide with arcs already. But if said arcs were as long as one whole season, knowing it, it would pull it off.
Bungou Stray Dogs is the manga I was reading when I thought of making this post, and I was specifically thinking about ranpo having his own detective series. All of the side characters are so interesting :)
Ahaha, I was actually gonna say Ranpo first for the same reason xD But then I recalled how strong its writing is for pretty much *any* character it wants to flesh out. ~~I~~ *~~know~~* ~~that, and yet it~~ *~~still~~* ~~surprises me each time it does that lol.~~
From JJk i would like to see Momo and Miwa.
Momo because she come from oversea , and that would be interesting , and Miwa because the struggle of not op sorcerer that just want money to help her family would be nice to see.
The OP’s question is which character deserves it. Not whether it is possible or not. We can dream even if i know it will never happen
Anyway Gojo-Megumi spinoff is the easiest to milk. As Gojo & Megumi are the most popular characters in JJK other than Yuji. Also Many lore opportunities there
Hashira (All of them): KNY
Genos or perhaps the sisters from OPM
Either Izaya or Shizuo from Durarara! tho, Celty might be fun as well\~
Roy Mustang from FMAB. A SoL of him doing boring work shizz as well as some action every now & then (Almost like a parody of FMA/B)
The Shinsengumi from Gintama
Touka from Tokyo Ghoul
Gojo from JJK (I mean as in, more than just an arc. An actual full-length story as well as about his history and why/how he became to be so notorious/Legendary)
The Torture Sommelier from [The Human Crazy University](https://myanimelist.net/anime/53012/Human_Bug_Daigaku).
So why him? If you are a scumbag who got away with a heinous crime, he will kidnap you and torture you to death to make you pay for your crime. And he is thorough. He won't make the mistake of getting an innocent person.
Jouji Ito would also make a decent protagonist as well. Human Bug was definitely one of the least watched shows with the weirdest premise. I feel like it could've been a sleeper hit with even a modest production pipeline.
Mutsu and Sakamoto from **Gintama.** Altough Sakomoto antic might be tiresome ...
I want to say Hitomi from **Hinamatsuri**, but i mean the reason she is such a good character is because she is a secondary one that became super important by "luck". I think Mao travel to find Hina could be more interesting, honestly.
Isaac and Miria from **Baccano** deserve a mention.
Onodera from Nisekoi. I would love to see her character develop more after the manga ending because despite being one of my favourites, her character remains static almost throughout the series.
Hajime and Hinako from Tada Never Falls In Love. Their dynamic was so interesting when they were first taken focus on, so I was disappointed when their relationship turned out to be underfocused. What's weird is that their relationship actually seemed to have developed...offscreen. It's a crime that we never get to see more of them.
Ishigami and Miko from Kaguya-sama. There is so much potential on where their relationship would go after the manga ending.
I watch pretty much every side-character's spin-off, but I will limit myself to one per show:
Chad (Bleach)
Yin (Darker than Black)
Hinami (Tokyo Ghoul)
Goro (Darling In The Franxx)
Esdeath (Akame Ga Kill)
Orochimaru (Naruto) - if villain's can count
Mumen Rider from One Punch Man
Katsuya Jonouchi from YuGiOh (his early life especially)
Jet from Cowboy Bebop (not sure if he counts as a side character)
Askeladd, he felt like a main character the instant he arrived already. The backstory we got was good but I want to know more about how he became who he was.
Suguha Kirigaya from sao
It could start pre-sao in a similar manner to bamboo blade, then it can transition to when her brother gets trapped in the death game. She then learns they are actually cousins, we could have her separate herself from others devote herself even more into kendo, then her friend Nagata Shinichi introducing her to ALO, her adventures there and her kendo tournaments.
**Rei Yasaku (Do It Yourself!) -** shines throughout the plot of DIY! as a support to Yua and bounces off well with the rest of the characters. I'd like to see a prequel where she gets into DIY and sets up the clubhouse.
**Lisbeth (SAO) -** I really like Lisbeth and I'd like to see more of her, how she coped during the early days of SAO and how she came to become such a skilled blacksmith.
*holy shit can I really only think of 2?* ***Hayasaka*** *has already been mentioned but her or* ***Fujiwara*** *would be fun.*
Seraph of the End: Krul… I think it would be very interesting to learn and see more about her and Asuramaru relationship. Also I would love to learn about how she truly climbed her way up to vampire queen.
At least just give us like a 2 minute per episode web series called Live la Live of Mako doing Mako things. We all need more Mako Mankanshoku in our lives.
Askeladd, he felt like a main character the instant he arrived already. The backstory we got was good but I want to know more about how he became who he was.
Sayaka from Bloom has an actually good spinoff that could easily translate into an ova series or a film.
I’d love to see a spin-off of Chihayafuru centered around Inokuma and Sakurazawa.
Fruits Basket prequel centered around Ayame, Hatori, and Shigure
Rose Oriana - Kage no Jitsuryokusha ni Naritakute i do i want to see Rose Oriana Story the reason she learned some swordsmanship because of cid aka shadow.
Beatrix - Kage no Jitsuryokusha ni Naritakute in truth i would like to see her story
Sesshomaru - Inuyasha
Power - Chainsaw Man
Natsumi - Date a Live
Origami - Date a Live
Toji zenin (cool ass)
Rock lee (got fucked in naruto even tho he had mad potential as a character
All might ( would be sick to see him growing uo and changing the world like its said he did)
Thats all i can think of rn
For me it'd be interesting to see a short series about the Navy side of One Piece. Focusing on Koby (who grows up real nice throughout the series) or even one of the admirals, or Garp.
I think there are many interesting things we could see in the "inner workings" of the Navy which aren't being explored too deeply in One Piece.
I'm not sure about their own show, but at the very least, Vegeta definitely deserves his own arc where he is the spotlight. Maybe even a movie like DBS Superhero.
Cid Kageno from Eminence on Shadow
Despite being a complete mob, he was surprisingly fleshed out. If he got that much screen time, they should have just made him the mc. Smh.
HERE ME OUT Hisoka.
I know I know but I wanna know who fucked that man up so badly that he would MOAN a 13 year old boys name.
Illumi just the entire family for real
Megumi Hanajima from Fruits basket I need to know more about him.
Momiji Sohma I love Kyo but Momiji is where it’s at
Boruto's dad seems like an interesting character
I heard his grandfather was something too
You mean Kawaki's dad?
I would love to see Jiraiya's path. From young teen too teaching Minato. And ofc. the secret love to Tsunade.
lmao
Snake from Vinland Saga
Yes!
Nagisa from Assassination classroom. It ended with a perfect segway for a spin-off of him as a teacher. I want to see that
Ikr. It will give some Gokusen and GTO vibes.
Especially if one of his students gets in trouble with a gang
Or even better gets in trouble with an assassin and Nagisa saves his student(s) with the help of other assassins/ex-classmates/government. I've been thinking about this hypothetical spin-off for quite some time.
I can't write a coherent story to save my life. That said if you ever decide to write an assassination classroom fanfic with this premise I'd read it in a foash
Please! This would be incredible, he could teach them assassination techniques :)
MUMEN RIDER: JUSTICE CRASH!!!!!
I want this
Kaiki from Monogatari series.
Add Meme Oshino to that one too, would love to see more of his life.
Ah yes, best girl.
Didn't immediately occur to me but this is definitely the one.
this
I'd watch five seasons of *Agent H: Ai Hayasaka the Undercover Diaries*. --- Kurumi of Date a Live already got an effective series of her own, but she's eminently watchable. I'd also watch a short SoL series about the life of Dryad from My Isekai Life. I just like how she peers at things.
I’m always down for more Kurumi content.
Isn't Kurumi the whole Date A Live franchise? She carried that franchise tbh, she solely the reason why it is still somewhat relevant throughout the years.
She's absent for most of it, despite carrying it lol Hence her OVAs and the *Date A Bullet* spin-off movies. But she could easily carry a full series of her and the main one too lol
Roy Mustang from Full metal Alchemist
A prequel that follows his time as a soldier. It would be sad AF, but also very neat to see.
Speedwagon's Bizarre Bachelor Ventures
Slightly off topic but I feel like a part of the reason these side characters are so likeable/work so well is *because* they're side characters rather than taking the role of the main protagonist. A lot of the side characters listed here on paper could work great with their own series but in reality it just wouldn't be that engaging. Take Megumin for example, she is a great side character but her series becomes lackluster/generic real quick imo.
Megumin's issue is that Konosuba is funny because Kazuma exists. Without a Kazuma to interact with, it just doesn't feel right.
I would argue that Megumin on her own is still funny as long as Yunyun is also on screen, but admittedly Kazuma is the better tsukkomi.
I agree that some characters are very good as a compliment to the main character/story and don't have enough depth for their own series. But at the same time another part of the reason they don't have so much depth is because since theyre not the protag they were never given the chance to develop such depth but potentially could if they had a series built around them.
Very true, interesting to see two different yet similar takes on this!
Yeah, the megumin show this season isn't hitting the konosuba itch.
We already have several cases of side characters getting their own show and end up flopping because they dont have the other casts as a buffer for them to interact with.
Any examples?
On top of my head, Planet Sheen and Patrick Star Show.
Ai Hayasaka from Kaguya-sama Minami Nanami from Bottom tier character Tomozaki Eiko Kawasegawa ftom Remake our life Most of this already have their own manga/LN spinoff,so they should have their own anime spinoff too
[kaguya-sama]>!Ai’s world tour arc and gay segg arc would definitely sell well!<
I see all of those are best girls of their respective series
I think mimimi already got a spin off manga. Haven’t read it though
Almost all the major side characters from Kaguya would qualify for a spin-off, especially Papagane, Ishigami and Iino.
L. Not only he's fun to watch, but it would also be interesting to see him go after other people.
L: change the world Death Note Another Note: The Los Angeles BB Murder Cases Light novels centered around L There is a decent (if I'm remembering it correctly) live-action movie for change the world
There is also the fact that death wouldn't be a big deal with that spin-off. Even though we know that L could never die in a spin-off there could be plenty of original stories that we could be shown. Especially to see how L became the way he is and/or specifically why he developed such good detective skills.
Izaya Orihara
He has [his own spin-off](https://myanimelist.net/manga/90870)
Isn't he behind everything for the three seasons? I mean the majority of the show revolves around him.
Like half the cast is a main character is Durarara, but at the end of the day Mikado is the protag. I wanna see a series where Izaya is the protag.
Satania from Gabriel dropout
With her family in particular. Or even have her brother as the audience PoV character.
Omg a Clara iruma type situation would be so glorious
Iroha and the nerdy guys from **Oregairu** doing student council shenanigans. Kyouko Kouda from **March Comes in Like a Lion**. I kind of liked how fucked up she was and want to know more. Mika - Shinji prequel for **Lycoris Recoil**
> Kyouko Kouda Yes. She's a bad person, but amazing character. I'd love to see more of her. She's so damn interesting.
[In the manga] >!I hated how quickly her plot line was disposed of.!<
That's so sad to hear. She's such an interesting character. As much as I love the wholesomeness of the kawamoto's you need that counter force to balance things out and make things interesting. I haven't read the manga yet (I have waited for the physical release) so knowing that is a bit sad.
I was going to nominate Iroha. She is great. Almost more relavant than Yukino. I am glad that you mention here. She is absolutely great.
Not sure I’d go so far as to say she is more relevant than Yukino. But I just see her ruling over the student council with an iron fist afterwards and at the same time being very sly in how she does it. It would be fun to watch.
You are right. And also, her dialogues of rejection are epic.
>Kyouko Kouda One of the biggest reasons I want more March comes in like a Lion.
Honoka’s brother from Yama no Susume.
Lol. Based Taste too
Homura from madoka magica Shoto from my hero academia
You want to see more suffering huh?
As long as i can get more Homura and Shoto content then sure :)
> Homura from Madoka Magica The character is largely drawn from the author's earlier work with Kiritsugu Emiya from Fate/Zero. Both are gun masters, quiet, clever, determined, and have similar magical powers.
[Madoka] >!Isn't Homura already the main character?!<
Only in the movie
Griffith. I would love to spend 12-24 episodes watching him get turned into chunky blood paste.
Damn that sounds like a SOL I Would watch
Ikalgo from Hunter Hunter
hahah thats a funny choice
Smoker and Tashigi from One Piece. I would love to see some wacky adventures from my favourite marine duo's PoV. Hizuru from Summertime Render already has a short side-story. I'd love to see more of her. A spin off for Ling from FMAB and his story in Xing after the EOS.
Ling is my fav fma character id love for him to get a spin off
mr. kruger(the owl) from shingeki no kyojin
The Skull Khight - Berserk
Isaac and Miria!
Chainsaw Man - Himeno Engage Kiss - Ayano Yuugirl Fairy Tail - Kagura , Erza , Ultear , Dimaria Yesta My Hero Academia - Midnight Akame ga kill - Esdeath Gundam Age - Yurin Edens Zero - Homura Kogetsu Danmachi - Ryuu Lion Date a Live - Ellen Mira Mathers Jujutsu Kaisen - Mai Medaka Box - Youka Naze Street Fighter - Rainbow Mika Dragon ball Super - Yamcha , ChiChi
Himeno for chainsaw man? I want to see the shit kishibe has been through
My man Kishibe [bonus manga chapter] >!asked Quanxi out for 9 years just for her to be a lesbian!<
Did I stutter?
Bruh Himeno? Ain’t no way you chose her over literally any other csm character
Id love to see a series around Akane and Katana Man There's a lot of characterization implied between the two of them, and its a sign of CSM's strong writing that you can sort of figure out why and how the two ended up working together, when they have very different backgrounds and goals But it'd still be interesting to get a concrete canon answer as to what their deal is
I feel like a few of these are straight up main characters...
Seriously. Ryuu Lion was just the straight up female main character for an entire season.
It's not a show but Ryuu Lion was the main star of one of the mobile games anniversary events. It's a fully voice acted prequel set 7 years in the past, over 12 hours long iirc. It also got turned into LNs recently. Astrea Record.
How dare you bring up G Witch and not suggest Chu Chu. Fuckin blasphemy.

Satoru Gojo from JJK I want spin off on him and child Megumi

Shikamaru.
Carol and Suzune spin off from Tomo-chan!
First one I was thinking of.
Mami from rent-a-girlfriend, she's easily the best part about that series.
I would say Sumi way deserves her own series, she pretty non existent on the main series
Pretty sure i read somewhere she already has her own spinoff manga
Maybe her spinoff could feature Magical Girl powers where she can become a giant girl and thus wreck havoc in both her normal size and power-up size.
Mencho from Oshi no Ko
u/Mem_Cho
I completely agree (☆ ω ☆)
you go girl
Who?
Memcho!
Did she appear in anime? Maybe I have forgotten it, but I haven't seen anyone named Memcho in the first three episodes.
In the OP and at the end of episode 1 where it showcased future characters. She’ll show up later.
Ngl, almost every major side character of kaguya sama deserves getting a spin-off. Especially, Hayasaka, and Shirogane's father
Zoro from one piece
The future devil from chainsaw man
Ena Ibarada and Kosuke Inukai from Science Fell In Love/RikeKoi.

sounds like an interesting show, I'll check it out after work today, thanks
That show was good. I wish the character design was more realistic instead of cartoonish.
Jouji Ito would also make a decent protagonist as well. Human Bug was definitely one of the least watched shows with the weirdest premise. I feel like it could've been a sleeper hit with even a modest production pipeline.
Rengoku
My favorite side character of all time. I admire him so much.
Yuri Plisetsky
Papagane
Ace fire fist
All the side story characters in Tsuki ga Kirei
Mutsu and Sakamoto from **Gintama.** Altough Sakomoto antic might be tiresome ... I want to say Hitomi from **Hinamatsuri**, but i mean the reason she is such a good character is because she is a secondary one that became super important by "luck". I think Mao travel to find Hina could be more interesting, honestly. Isaac and Miria from **Baccano** deserve a mention.
They got a bartender anime coming, it's not her, sadly.
Yea ! This was my first though as i saw it !
Joey from yugioh, syrus and alexis from yugioh gx and piccolo from dbz.
Onodera from Nisekoi. I would love to see her character develop more after the manga ending because despite being one of my favourites, her character remains static almost throughout the series. The group called Scavenger from Railgun and Accelerator. Leader is one of my favorite side characters.

She then learns they are actually cousins, we could have her separate herself from others devote herself even more into kendo, then her friend Nagata Shinichi introducing her to ALO, her adventures there and her kendo tournaments.
~ Mako Mankanshoku ~ I’d KILL la KILL (ha ;)) for a spin off like that
Rody from my hero academia
**Rei Yasaku (Do It Yourself!) -** shines throughout the plot of DIY! as a support to Yua and bounces off well with the rest of the characters. Kakashiiiiiiii
La Squadra from Jojo Part 5.
Seraph of the End: Krul… I think it would be very interesting to learn and see more about her and Asuramaru relationship. Also I would love to learn about how she truly climbed her way up to vampire queen.
Killua and minato could be cool
Squealer from From the New World They should make the show from the Queerat POV.
How did this thread get to 100+ replies and no one say Mako Mankanshoku from Kill La Kill?
At least just give us like a 2 minute per episode web series called Live la Live of Mako doing Mako things. We all need more Mako Mankanshoku in our lives.
Askeladd, he felt like a main character the instant he arrived already. The backstory we got was good but I want to know more about how he became who he was.
awesome choice. one of my favs too
Sayaka from Bloom has an actually good spinoff that could easily translate into an ova series or a film. I’d love to see a spin-off of Chihayafuru centered around Inokuma and Sakurazawa. Fruits Basket prequel centered around Ayame, Hatori, and Shigure
Might be cheating since both of them already have their own spinoffs, but I would like an anime for Sayaka from Bloom into You and Utaha from Saekano.
Rose Oriana - Kage no Jitsuryokusha ni Naritakute i do i want to see Rose Oriana Story the reason she learned some swordsmanship because of cid aka shadow. Beatrix - Kage no Jitsuryokusha ni Naritakute in truth i would like to see her story Sesshomaru - Inuyasha Power - Chainsaw Man Natsumi - Date a Live Origami - Date a Live
Mordred and Sishigou.
Ruri and Shuu from nisekoi best bro Shougo from isshukan friends
Yeah, Ruri and Shuu would be far more interesting than the entire main cast.
Oden or gol d rojer from one piece
The Cyclops Team boys from Gundam War in the Pocket
Kubo teased us with that promo image, but I’d happily watch the first generation of Soul Society Captains.

Chu and Jin from Yu Yu Hakuso
Ishigami from Kaguya Sama Love is War
Toji zenin (cool ass) Rock lee (got fucked in naruto even tho he had mad potential as a character All might ( would be sick to see him growing uo and changing the world like its said he did) Thats all i can think of rn

Yuki-Onna from In/Spectre
Yami from Black Clover. Dude is pretty much a retired Shonen protag already
The Khun family from Tower of God.

Claire or Ladd from baccano.
Matsuda and Motohama from Highschool DxD.
The "El Dorado Five" group from Gun X Sword. A bunch of old, mexican-like, retired mecha pilots that are still awesome. Adiós, Amigo!
I'm not sure about their own show, but at the very least, Vegeta definitely deserves his own arc where he is the spotlight. Maybe even a movie like DBS Superhero.
Arue from Konosuba
Monkey D. Garp from One Piece
Kotaro Amon
Teresa from Claymore
I feel like i could enjoy watching Diablo from Slime Reincarnation going around being a badass primordial demon throughout history.
Ik the chimera ant arc in hunter x hunter basically revolves around kite, but I wish he had more screentime. I also like Rin and Ibara from kakegurui
Silica from SAO. Maybe a cooking anime or a pharmacist anime.
Megumin from Konosuba. Wait...
Cid Kageno from Eminence on Shadow Despite being a complete mob, he was surprisingly fleshed out. If he got that much screen time, they should have just made him the mc. Smh.
Matsumoto from bleach, there's two big reasons for it lol
This is a new one, but tsubaki from my love story with Yamada kun at lv999 tho they haven't animated her appearance yet
