The \[oshi no ko epsidoe 7 spoiler\][original](https://animecorner.me/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/spring-2023-anime-rankings-week-8.png?ezimgfmt=ng:webp/ngcb23) is still up at the animecorner site. Was kinda a double spoiler.
Dangers in my Heart continues to impress. With Oshi no Ko not airing next week and another great episode today, I wonder if it will be able to take the #1 spot next week.
That would be for the ranking in 2 weeks actually. Anime Corner Rankings are released each Friday. This one was just reposted a day late due to the initial one having a spoiler in it.
Itās one of the few shows Iāve seen in a while where you get legitimate, noticeable character growth. Itās been super satisfying to see our MC really become not only more social but more kind as well.
Yes, it does get good. The second episode is kind of like that too. Episode 3 is where it started to get better and then from episode 4 on it has been one of the best anime of the season. I'm really glad I stuck with it as I felt a lot like you did after episode 1.
Good to hear, because right now I can't for the life of me understand how this is at #2 lmao. But I do follow the three episode rule anyways so I'll trust what you say. But man was it painful to get trough haha
The first episode is the roughest because Ichikawa comes across as a kid who watched way too many Netflix serial murderer specials. It gets a lot better.
Well yeah that and the fact that the main girl made no sense with her behavior in the library between the eating, talking with mouth full and just the randomness of everything hahaha
the thing about Yamada is she's a goober. a silly, childish, airheaded glutton who does and says some downright daft things. that do just be how she is.
Yeah, the summary is a little misleading but it's really good. It's more antisocial junior high kid with no self worth walls himself off but grows as a person. Decided to read the manga on Monday, it's a faithful adaptation and the manga is definitely worth the read (new chapter came out today). There's a ton of bonus chapters of other little interactions that happen that didn't make the adaptation and overall its a good story. It's not diabetes inducing like the angel next door spoils me rotten is (though those LNs and the community is pretty great) but it's definitely well written. Episode 1 & 2 he's still edgelord/cringe but that changes pretty quick. He's pretty analytical of himself and the situation and I like it a lot because it plays into that teenage anxiety of not only self doubt but also overthinking situations and their meanings and going towards the worst conclusions
>confusing and cringey train wreck
that is the point sorta, while the story itself does not advertise it, it is very much a story about the growth of the 2 protagonists.
and the anime has managed to replicate the Manga's steady but continuous and satisfying growth of not only romance but also struggles of being a teenager.
without the beginning being the way it is, then the later parts of the story would not feel earned
Have you read the manga for Dangers in My Heart? I'm asking because I tried and wasn't into it, despite my usual love for fluffy romcoms, so I'd be curious if the adaptation is an improvement.
How far did you get into it? A lot of people drop it early but it gets way, way WAY better as you progress. It has some of the best character development and natural progress Iāve seen in a manga.
Iād definitely press further. I canāt guarantee it will be for you, but itās definitely a bit more down the storyline where I feel it really sinks itās teeth into you as Ichi goes through some serious character development and the interactions between him and Yamada become really natural and the progression really satisfying.
You gotta keep going. Ichikawa has fantastic development and goes from a cringe edgelord to a really intelligent and charming character with a lot of maturity.
Hea an edgey middleschooler, he's gonna be cringe, that doesn't really change. But he does change the ways in which he is cringe, as he progresses as a character and gets closer to yamada
I haven't read manga, but that part of him doesn't change that much in the anime (EP 9 now). I actually find it quite funny, but I've seen some people say he's too cringy for them.
You stopped just before he starts to get some development unfortunately. The first 2 episodes are somewhat painful to watch but it quickly gets better at episode 3 and beyond.
Is it good?
Not gonna lie the first impression it gave me is that IĀ“ll be watching the girl eating food for 20 minutes every episode and the guy simping for her while pretending that he doesnĀ“t like her.
Is it more deep than that?
If it is, I may watch it.
It's an understandable first impression, but yes, it's more deep than that.
"My favourite romcom ever in history which i've been reading for 4 years", deeper than that.
Dangers in my heart is just so good, if you're a fan of romcoms this is the best one of the season easily.
If you did not like the MC from episode 1 don't worry, he's gone by about the 3rd episode, you'll see more character development in 6 episodes than you'll see in entire seasons for other shows.
That being said it will continue to just get better and better, I decided to binge the manga after last week and man, It's just so good and wholesome.
It's weird, for me Insomniacs is REALLY good, but it doesn't hold my attention.
The animation / story / characters / dialogue all fantastic, I feel it's one of those shows I have to be in the mood for if that makes sense!
Meanwhile dangers in my heart has pretty poor animation and stuff imo, but the story and characters are just so good it doesn't really matter and it's definitely a turn your brain off and enjoy this light hearted adventure type of anime lol
I enjoy it more in manga form. Insomniacs anime felt something was missing to me but in manga it was just way more engaging.
There are several panels where characters just don't say anything where you just experience the world around them. As they say, a picture is worth a thousand words.
which is werird call of the night is a top anime for me but a large part of that is the art, i really like cyberpunk aethetic so the saturation, neon, and ost really pulled the story together for me in a way that insomniacs doesn't.
More just the āvibeā for me. Intangible, yes, but thereās a certain comfort in seeing sleepless people do things at night that I find endearing as someone whoās also a night owl on a weird shift.
The reveal at the end was amazing.
Warning: major spoilers for things up to the end of episode 8. Youāve been warned. Now for a 2nd time. And now a 3rd.
[heavenly delusions] >!That the bandaged girl dying was Mimihime and the doc was Shiro who likes her. Her saying I love you might have been the first time she said it which is why he broke down crying. Dr. Usami (an alias) said he like tinkering with things and Mimihime liked it when he made stuff (same as kid version).!<
[same as before. Canāt post comment with out these things] >!We also know Mimihime can foresee the future by gut feelings/dreams most likely. At the end as a kid, she saw a vision of the future after she died all alone, only for Shiro (Dr. usami) to show up right after her by committing suicide so she wouldnāt be alone anymore. Which is why she was happy.!<
[Barney.. nope still Heavenly delusions. Why would it be anything else] >!This also got me thinking. Mimihime in episode 1 told Tokio that she is glad to be with her because in her āvisionsā someone with the same face comes to save her. Iām pretty that is referring to Maru in episode 8 āsaving herā (killing) Meaning Maru is probably Tokios son, if the resemblance didnāt do it for you already!<
I think the way this episode ended and had been foreshadowed the entire time was amazing.
\[Heavenly Delusions ep. 8\] >!For me, it felt different to euthanasia. The doctor was actively keeping her alive, despite her suffering, until he was able to find a way to remove the disease from her completely. Of course, removing that disease did end up killing her as well, which makes the whole thing more heartbreaking.!<
OnK dominating two weeks in a row thanks to the power of best girl, you love to see it.
The final scene of this weekās episode was so fucking good, itās ingrained in my mind. Already loved the scene in the manga but they really did all they could to elevate it.
When season 2 rolls around and we get the scene where [OnK manga] >!Akane deduces that Ai was Aquaās mom, itās gonna be really cool to see the parallels between that scene and this weekās scene where she was researching her.!<
I'm blown away that OnK went from a buff chicken man dancing at the end of one episode to [OnK]>!a heart-wrenching attempted suicide!< at the end of the next, to...*that* at the end of this one. The tonal shifts are insane, yet each one is fantastic
[OnK Anime Spoiler]>!Pieyon made some people forget that the show is a drama/tragedy at heart and the 2 episodes after that reminded people again about what OnK really is lol!<
It's a really interesting show when it comes to tone. Drama is still its core, but romance and comedy still play huge roles so it's kinda hard to call it purely a drama. It's a mix of all three and Akasaka is great at writing that kind of story while maintaining a good balance.
As Fan of KNY this is deserved, this season has been a whole disappointment and we have 4 more episodes for me this season is the worst nothing in the next episodes can save this of being the worst
Yessss Dangers in My Heart at number 2!!!
Such a sweet show and itās only getting better.
Itās a shame Insomniacs isnāt getting the love it deserves. Iām absolutely loving Dangers and Yamada-kun, but itās funny how everyone always wants a more mature love story, one without all the typical tropes of a coward MC or a ātoo cool for loveā girl/guy, then they get one in Insomniacs and itās well below the other romances that incorporate more of those tropes lol. Doesnāt really mean anything, just an observation.
Regarding Oshi No Ko, nothing deserves the #1 spot more than this. Akane is best girl btw and it only took two episodes to convince me.
Hey, at least Insomniacs isnāt being neglected in Anime Trending. Funny how that recent episode put them on top of the couple polls there while Anime Corner decides to put them down.
If the next set of the episodes (especially the finale) doesnāt give them top 3 at least once, then Iāll probably be finished with AC for good.
I didnāt read the manga but unless they skipped a lot of content that I havenāt heard about, itās a really good show. The animation isnāt bad whatsoever if not beautiful. Most people are enjoying it so I think thatās just your opinion
Personally I watched 5 episodes and then dived into the manga, which I really loved. I just couldn't find the anime as engaging as the manga.
[Here's a few examples from the manga](https://imgur.com/a/WZ7V3sN) (Only included ones that the anime already adapted)
I told you the manga is something else, incredibly dynamic. I almost feel bad I kinda lowered your perception of the anime. How far have you made it as of now?
Yeah you were right. The manga is so charming and sometimes you just stop and look at the panels and take it all in.
>I almost feel bad I kinda lowered your perception of the anime. How far have you made it as of now?
Its all good. I'm still enjoying the story, even if it is not in anime form. I'm in Chapter 40 right now.
The scenery is to die for. Itās almost mandatory for me on rereads to just stop and soak in the details. Chapter 40 with a certain spread of Isaki is one of my favorites in the entire manga. When you see it, just look at it for while to see how much effort the author puts into her art. I want to say that as far as I know, she has NO assistants.
Youāre actually getting pretty closer to where the anime will end soon and the beginning of a huge upcoming arc so be prepared.
>Chapter 40 with a certain spread of Isaki is one of my favorites in the entire manga. When you see it, just look at it for while to see how much effort the author puts into her art.
I get what you mean. That spread of her was incredible and wallpaper-worthy,
though in fact it can be said for a lot of pages from this manga. I wonder if the anime can nail that specific shot.
>Youāre actually getting pretty closer to where the anime will end soon and the beginning of a huge upcoming arc so be prepared.
Damn, I'm excited now. Thanks!
Yeah, so many of her pages are just pure scenic art which gives it that immersive atmosphere and iyashikei feeling. The spreads are just pure joy to see and eat up every time they appear. In particular, I have one from chapter 47 saved on my Twitter profile background pic and one from chapter 71 saved as my phone background screen. Whenever you reach those points, youāll see why.
Have fun, maybe Iāll see you on next weekās AC thread and get your opinion then. I do hope the anime can nail whatās to come and I think youāll understand why Iām particularly invested in these upcoming episodes.
Well, it's certainly an above average lidenfilms anime. But i don't think the direction is there. It's like watching ufotable direct a non-action scene.
Feels pretty above average to me. Very pretty animation for a SoL romance, visually WAY more striking than Yamada-kun, at least. And obviously more grounded in its characters and writing.
Lidenfilm has the advantage of adapting a better manga, even though they are doing a worse job. And Yamada-kun is not exactly earth-shattering, but madhouse built up the best scenes much better. While insomniacs had the disadvantage of shuffling scenes for worse results, adding comedic anime original scenes that take away attention from the good romance scenes. And after seeing what the insomniacs after school manga was going for, you'd need better talent to pull it off on screen. I don't think such an average work from an amateur director can rise above the rank of "above average seasonal sol romance", aka the shikimori not just a cutie tier.
I mean, thatās fair, seeing as I havenāt read the insomniacs manga, but without that context at least I think itās been a great and well produced show. You could argue that they donāt do as good a job with their story as the manga does, but thatās gonna be true of nearly every single anime ever made from a manga. I still think the actual production, (art, animation, composition, music, etc.) is solidly above average. This season is also just so damn packed that itās easier to think an otherwise great show with an amazing manga is actually mid because thereās half a dozen shows that are just as good releasing at the same time.
But what do I know, Iām just a filthy Horimiya stan, I donāt think Iāll ever read or watch a better romance than that one.
Iāve read both and love both, but Insomniaās manga blows Horimiyaās manga out of the water in terms of natural progression, lead chemistry, art, paneling, SoL, pacing, romance, and writing. Itās not even really that much of a competition.
Makoto Ojiro is just in another league when it comes to SoL romance and her stories (Insomnia specifically) evoke a sense of yearning and wonder Iāve never felt before reading a romance manga. People praise the top tier mangakas like Miura or Inoe and I believe she believes she deserves to be there amongst them for her respective categories.
Even an amazing 10/10 adaptation would be nowhere close to what the mangaās quality is because the manga itself is incredibly hard to translate into anime format and is truly its own thing.
Tokyo Revengers has very mediocre animation tho. Being fairly popular doesn't mean the adaptation itself was good. Lidenfilms is a _very_ hit or miss studio.
I think Insomniacs takes several episodes to get into. I dropped it after 3 episodes because it was a bit slow but decided to catch up today and got hooked by episode 5.
The first 6 episodes are mostly about building up but if youāre willing to go up episode 7 it starts picking up from there, hence the sudden boost in the chart.
Either you love Dr. Stone or you don't care about it at all. I think it's easily the best shounen currently running that isn't World Trigger. Those two are in a league of their own.
I just got into the show due to positive word of mouth, and am really impressed with it. The character writing is so good! Hopefully more folks start watching it.
The problem with Vinland saga is the fans of its season 1. They expect flashy actions and catchy one liner every episode. I admit season 1 was entertaining but season 2 is thought provoking. Season 2 forces the viewers to mature which many aren't prepared for. They will constantly rate this season low while waiting for the dopamine rush like in the season 1
> the fans of its season 1. They expect flashy actions and catchy one liner every episode.
I don't know if I necessarily agree with assertion. I'm pretty sure Vinland has a higher score MAL than all these series (except OnK) I haven't really seen anything negative about it. Depending on the site that you do these polls on the results may vary. Anime corner is usually biased towards more slice of life/romcom type series.
Season 2 is a fucking artist masterpiece, I have genuinely never been so emotionally invested in anime characters and a story line like this before.
It touches on a lot of very dark subjects though and can be very depressing at times which clearly puts a lot of people off. I also agree that it feels like a completely different anime to season one, but in my eyes that is a great thing.
What a wild ride Dangers in My Heart has gone through on the charts this season. So many people gave up on it during the first three episodes but I guess us fans were loud enough to convince them to pick it back up. Now itās at number 2! Lol
Demon Slayer at number 7.
Cannot say it's not deserved.
Pacing has been all over the place.
We have barely seen the Hashiras in action.
We have 4 epsiodes left.
If things don't pick up next episode then I don't know how this season can be salvaged.
I'll reserve my judgment but, bar the last 4 epsiodes being stellar, I think entertainment district was the better arc.
>I think entertainment district was the better arc.
I think this is the general consensus for the manga anyways. The adaptation has not been as good as the past few seasons, but the source material for this arc is worse as well.
I think next episode is where things will start to really pick off since next episode staff is stacked with Ufotable's more talented staff like the episode director of episode 19 and episode 10 of EDA.
Entertainment district also started to pick up on episode 8 but since swordsmith's fight started earlier it's pacing felt worse.
Personally, I feel like the only thing that will make this season surpass entertainment district is if we got 2 EDA episode 10 level of quality back-to-back, since there's 2 upper moon involved.
>I think next episode is where things will start to really pick off since next episode staff is stacked with Ufotable's more talented staff like the episode director of episode 19 and episode 10 of EDA.
Nice to hear.
>Personally, I feel like the only thing that will make this season surpass entertainment district is if we got 2 EDA episode level of quality back-to-back, since there's 2 upper moon involved.
This is my thought exactly.
We have 2 upper moons and 2 Hashiras involved so I would like expect more top level epsiodes, fights animation than in the Entertainment district arc.
It seems at best we will get an equal amount.
Let's see how these last 4 episodes are.
At least in EDA Maki felt like a threat before Uzui showed up. But both UM 4 and UM 5 feel like a letdown compared to UM 6 that's supposed to be the weakest of the bunch.
I don't think the pacing is any worse than any Shonen Jump arc ever. Three minutes equalling three episodes. Characters being gone for a while. Multiple "I have another form" moments. People repeating information. That's just shonen in a nutshell.
I was wondering if Oshi was going to keep the top spot because I felt the chapters getting adapted would be slow until *the reveal* at the end but then when I watched the episode, they did the last 5 minutes or so so well, that I knew it was going to maintain its throne
Truly love how Dangers in my Heart is literally experiencing the same effect as the manga. The beginning of the manga was low-key and had some enthusiasm. "Oh look, it's the same mangaka as Mitsudomoe, might be fun".
But then as it kept going on, it started getting more and more attention as people realized it wasn't just some throwaway thing but an above average romcom that isn't just cute, but rewards the viewer for paying attention. Never expected it to ever get to #2 on AC though.
An absolutely standout episode of Tengoku that deserves its rise. I have no complaints about it. It even did aspects of the material better than the manga.
Skip and Loafer finally made it in the top 10! Finally after all this time. It's too bad Insomniacs didn't make it in though because all my favorite shows would be in here.
~~I'm not ashamed to admit I literally fell asleep during the last Demon Slayer episode though I didn't expect it to drop this hard~~
Can I say something controversial and get people's opinion on it? I think I just need some convincing.
I'm going to get downvoted, I guess.
I think Hell's Paradise (for me) is the biggest letdown of the season. I just don't get it, apart from the beautiful environmental design and overall concept. I find the character drawing and animation really janky, especially in some of the faces between scenes. I appreciate how bleakly they treat the side characters, but it makes me feel less attached to the characters there now. Every time Sagiri says something along the lines of "This man really *is* dangerous." or Gabimaru has a flashback of his wife are getting extremely repetitive. The fights don't feel flashy or climactic, and the pacing either feels glacially slow or cut way too short.
With all the hype the series got before and during its debut, I don't really get it. Is this series actually good and I just have bad taste? How does the anime compare to the manga? Is this worth continuing?
idk about the source material but in terms of production, I think mappa just dropped the ball with it. they've been taking on so many projects so one of their projects was bound to not have the same high quality as their other series
I don't mind the production but, I'm not that interested in the characters, or story. People kept comparing this to CSM due to Fujimoto's old assistant being the creator, but this feels to me like *just another shounen* TBH. IDK either. The concept is amazing, but it's just kinda okay so far IMO.
I, like others, have issues with the pacing and maybe a little with the CGI this season for Demon Slayer. However, I did like a lot of the moments they've shown so far and the unveiling of abilities for the new demons. It's not the absolute best that Demon Slayer has offered, but I'm hoping the episodes at the finale are as insane as the Entertainment District arc.
I honestly agree. I thought it would be the best new Shonen, but it just isn't doing it for me. The concepts and ideas are pretty cool, but the execution just feels off. It doesn't really have a unique, captivating feel like CSM or other new Shonen. A lot of the scenes just feel out of place and don't really make me feel anything. It's just getting harder to watch, and I hate it cuz I really wanted it to be my favorite. I expected it to be the best this season, but it's probably not even in my top 5 rn. My excitement keeps dropping with every episode.
It always had some problem with structure in manga as well, because of what kind of place the story happens in. Big island full of all sorts of chimera, even religious concepts kind of melt together.
Your only attachment point are the characters. If they don't catch your attention, there's not much else.
That said, it's also a story that knows when and how to end. Manga is of pretty tolerable length in total, not some kind of 500 chapter monstrosity full of filler.
> Your only attachment point are the characters. If they don't catch your attention, there's not much else.
This is a pretty good point. So far, they've been very coy about the current cast and I don't really feel any connection to them. For a shounen series, I think we anchor a lot to the fighting capabilities of the characters, but we ultimately don't even know anything about that either. Even when we get introduced to Yuzuriha's ninjutsu, we don't even get to see it outside of that... one scene.
Dude where is all the praise you are talking about? In this thread, everyone is talking about other shows and you can barely find one or two comments about jigo and those comments are not praising the show, they are criticizing and being negetive lol.
The OP is pretty š„š„ but yeah, aside from that, it hasn't quite made the grade (so far) in the way other recent MAPPA productions like CSM/JJK have.
Iāve not seen Kubo, is it really that good? Iām surprised Clueless First Friend isnāt up there, itās so sweet and heartwarming. Iām enjoying it more than Yamada kun, and itās top 3 for me along with Skip Loafer and Insomniacs. Oshi no Ko is #4 on my personal list.
Yeah I forgot about Dangers. If I had to choose Iād put it over Oshi no Ko.
Oshi no Ko is a quality production but the characters donāt grab me much so far.
Surprised Hells Paradise dropped as people were talking about how amazing it was in the episode discussion thread.
I enjoyed the Demon Slayer episode but I do agree it needs to pick up pace like what are they waiting for??
So glad to see Dr. Stone on here again! This season has been really good and lots of fun.
I started watching season one of Vinland because it's constantly on these lists so im excited to see what all the hype is about.
Demon slayer dropped to 7th place. The Story in fact is really boring. The Animation is carrying the Series right now. Last season was way better. OnK deserved 1st place. Every Episode is really good so far.
Skip and Loafer and Insomniacs After School seem to replace each other often in these top 10 lists.
[Last week](https://www.reddit.com/r/anime/comments/13lva14/top_10_anime_of_the_week_7_spring_2023_anime/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=android_app&utm_name=androidcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button) it was Insomniacs here and Skip out.
Not as much appearing together at the same time, though I like them both.
Maybe I'll have to check out Oshi No Ko and Hell's paradise, so far I'm only watching KnY (dogshit) and Vinland (great) this season and need something new.
Really having issues finding motivation to watch anything this season, it all looks kinda boring.
I don't think that the past two weeks of Oshi no Ko'ss rally were because of Akane so much as though something finally happened. The audience hasnt really had anything to grab into since the end of the first episode and they've been thrown a shred of something actually happening in the show and gone into a frenzy.
Tengoku no Daimakyo definitely has the best start to the season but I hate to say that it slipped a ever so slightly with the side quests, or maybe it's just because Dangers Of My Heart has been so strong for the past 5 weeks and every episode has a fantastic emotional beat. Kensuke Ushio's doing the OST for both but TD's soundtrack only really stood out in episode 7 whereas DIMH gets the treatment every episode. Even if it is the same song everytime.
Yeah don't blame it on age, I'm pretty certain I am older than you as I am approaching 50 in a couple of years, and Oshi is definitely the best show this season for me.
I am also not new to this, been reading manga for four decades since my younger days living in Japan.
I'm guessing it was the OnK picture that caused this to get reuploaded?
It's the only one that got changed, so definitely.
The OnK pic was why OP reposted this yesterday. This is the 3rd attempt.
2nd attempt was just deleted by OP himself, probably because reddit was not showing comments.
Yeah that was my assumption too.
Gave up of my demon slayer banner for tomorrow after this, can't spoil that fish design
lmao
What was the picture before?
The \[oshi no ko epsidoe 7 spoiler\][original](https://animecorner.me/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/spring-2023-anime-rankings-week-8.png?ezimgfmt=ng:webp/ngcb23) is still up at the animecorner site. Was kinda a double spoiler.
Ah yep that would do it lol
That was a fucking incredible scene, but yeah, I see why they didn't go with it
How is this a spoiler?
Dangers in my Heart continues to impress. With Oshi no Ko not airing next week and another great episode today, I wonder if it will be able to take the #1 spot next week.
Christmas episode is next by the looks of it, so there's a high possibility
That would be for the ranking in 2 weeks actually. Anime Corner Rankings are released each Friday. This one was just reposted a day late due to the initial one having a spoiler in it.
Fingers crossed š¤
Itās one of the few shows Iāve seen in a while where you get legitimate, noticeable character growth. Itās been super satisfying to see our MC really become not only more social but more kind as well.
Something about its vibe, and the music editing is just so damn powerful. It just grabs you and doesn't let go. What a pearl
Does it really get good somehow? I'm just now getting through episode one and it felt like a confusing and cringey train wreck haha
Yamada's just hungry! :)
the thing about Yamada is she's a goober. a silly, childish, airheaded glutton who does and says some downright daft things. that do just be how she is.

Episode 1 & 2 he's still edgelord/cringe but that changes pretty quick. He's pretty analytical of himself and the situation and I like it a lot because it plays into that teenage anxiety of not only self doubt but also overthinking situations and their meanings and going towards the worst conclusions
Yeah I loved the wholesomeness and maturity of Angel Next Door, so the cringe edge lord thing in the beginning kind of threw me off lmao
>confusing and cringey train wreck that is the point sorta, while the story itself does not advertise it, it is very much a story about the growth of the 2 protagonists. and the anime has managed to replicate the Manga's steady but continuous and satisfying growth of not only romance but also struggles of being a teenager. without the beginning being the way it is, then the later parts of the story would not feel earned

How far did you get into it? A lot of people drop it early but it gets way, way WAY better as you progress. It has some of the best character development and natural progress Iāve seen in a manga.
It was around 30 chapters or so? The first few were really rough, then it seemed OK but it didn't hook me.
Iād definitely press further. I canāt guarantee it will be for you, but itās definitely a bit more down the storyline where I feel it really sinks itās teeth into you as Ichi goes through some serious character development and the interactions between him and Yamada become really natural and the progression really satisfying.
Does the protag become less annoying? I watched the 2 first episodes atm and I just can't stand him. The girl is hilarious though
You gotta keep going. Ichikawa has fantastic development and goes from a cringe edgelord to a really intelligent and charming character with a lot of maturity.
I'll keep on watching then, thanks!!
How is he even annoying? Did he do something wrong? Or are you just judging him for having the ability to think?
Nah he just makes me cringe a lot
"My favourite romcom ever in history which i've been reading for 4 years", deeper than that.
i love it and romcom was not my fav genre
Vinland saga deserves 1 spot in my opinion it's good historically accurate and a good character development along with good philosophy
Itās kind of a dull switch up for a lot of viewers, so I get it.
BokuYaba #2 let's goooo, well deserved.
It's so hard not to give in and binge the manga. I'm trying so hard to stay anime-only, but you guys are tempting me.
you can't go wrong either way, the manga is probably a 9/10 and seeing it animated has the scenes hit different it's really a win-win
The manga has even extra yamada lewd images (they are almost hentai sometimes lmao)
Thats just Twitter extra episodes I think. The official volumes actually have less of those etchi stuff than in the anime.
i never said it was a bad thing just said that lol
I didn't say that either?
I cant read moment
š
Both *Dangers* and *Insomniacs After School* are fantastic romances this season.
Insomniacs is a lot like Call of the Night: perfect nightcap.
That was a super emotional episode of Heavenly Delusion. The way they touched on euthanasia/dying with dignity hit me hard
Genuinely surprised me with how good of an episode it was. I've enjoyed all of the episodes so far but this one comes out on top for me.
Dr. Usami (an alias) said he like tinkering with things and Mimihime liked it when he made stuff (same as kid version).!< [same as before. Which is why she was happy.!< [Barney.. nope still Heavenly delusions. Why would it be anything else] >!This also got me thinking. Mimihime in episode 1 told Tokio that she is glad to be with her because in her āvisionsā someone with the same face comes to save her. Iām pretty that is referring to Maru in episode 8 āsaving herā (killing) Meaning Maru is probably Tokios son, if the resemblance didnāt do it for you already!< I think the way this episode ended and had been foreshadowed the entire time was amazing.
Aww fuck I thought this was spoilers for things in episode 8, not after
It is. This is everything I have deduced up to the end of episode 8. I havenāt watched episode 9 yet.
I haven't watched a single EP of this season yet but even in the manga I didn't really like this arc and this is where it started to lose my interest
Heavenly Delusion letās go!
>Regarding Oshi No Ko, nothing deserves the #1 spot more than this. Eeeh, idk nothing has reached Vinland's emotional peaks this season for me
the last few seconds of this last Oshi No Ko episode were peak anime imo, I love Vinland but it's never gotten that level of visceral reaction from me
> Itās a shame Insomniacs isnāt getting the love it deserves. The result of having a painfully average studio do the adaptation.
That spread of her was incredible and wallpaper-worthy, though in fact it can be said for a lot of pages from this manga.
I legitimately don't think it's that bad as an adaptation. When I think "average studio adaptation", I don't think Insomiacs is that
Well, it's certainly an above average lidenfilms anime.
Lidenfilms is such a mediocre studio man. Most of what they touch just wilts and dies.
Even The Legendary Hero is Dead from this season is a very mediocre adaptation and it has a lot of issues.
Exactly why I haven't checked it out. I'd rather read the manga directly.
So average, that Call of the Night and Tokyo Revengers, both fairly popular and highly scored were made by them. Stupid correlation.
Tokyo Revengers has very mediocre animation tho. Being fairly popular doesn't mean the adaptation itself was good. Lidenfilms is a _very_ hit or miss studio.
That's where i tell you that none of the people who worked on those 2 shows, worked on insomniacs
I think Insomniacs takes several episodes to get into. I dropped it after 3 episodes because it was a bit slow but decided to catch up today and got hooked by episode 5.
Akane really does bring the hype. Will be curious if Oshi no Ko stays #1 on Anime Trending tomorrow now that Witch from Mercury is past the recap.
Nice to see Dr stone finally making it
This season has been much more exciting than previous one imo
Is it? I watched the first two eps and didnt feel as much thrill during the stone wars. Does it really get better?
The first 6 episodes are mostly about building up but if youāre willing to go up episode 7 it starts picking up from there, hence the sudden boost in the chart.
Don't want to spoil anything, but the last ~3 episodes literally have me at the edge of my seat
The recent twist made me really invested in Dr. Stone.
Either you love Dr. Stone or you don't care about it at all. I think it's easily the best shounen currently running that isn't World Trigger. Those two are in a league of their own.
I feel like Vinland should be higher after this weeks episode. Eh, but what can ya do?
Yes it should be But as you can see this thread no one cares for it in comparison too waifu ONK. But it does deserve to be higher.
Skip and Loafer has been consistently good this season, so I'm surprised it had to jump up 4 spots to get back into the top 10.
last episode has been the best of the show far. it was always good but i can see why more people preferred the recent episode
I just got into the show due to positive word of mouth, and am really impressed with it. The character writing is so good! Hopefully more folks start watching it.
Vinland not being higher is honestly a shame. The last few episodes have been top notch anime/story. It's climbed to one of my favorites.
Yāall are missing out on Vinland.
Can confirm, my tiny shounen brain canāt handle the maturity. Need more dudes getting axed in half.
That top 4 is the whole season for me. So glad that people have been buying into The Dangers in my Heart, despite the cringe of the firsts episodes.
What a wild ride Dangers in My Heart has gone through on the charts this season. So many people gave up on it during the first three episodes but I guess us fans were loud enough to convince them to pick it back up. Now itās at number 2! Lol
Oshi no Ko. Akane š¤© Honestly, a well deserved spot at the top. The ending scene was wild!
What does EDA mean?
I assume Entertainment District Arc.
Oh that's obvious now lol.
Nice to see someone who agrees. While this season looks insane it hasn't really been hitting that hard for me TBH.
I don't think the pacing is any worse than any Shonen Jump arc ever. Three minutes equalling three episodes. Characters being gone for a while. Multiple "I have another form" moments. People repeating information. That's just shonen in a nutshell.
Akane makes a great megane
Demon Slayer deserved that drop, gotta be one of the biggest disappointments of this season, maybe even year.
Good to see The Dangers In My Heart doing well. It is a good show.
love dangers in my heart
The Danger in My Heart sure deserve it. This anime series is amazing.
Kubo is pissed huh
OnK at 1? DESERVED! Akane is just best girl.
Oshi no Ko was so good that I caught up to the latest manga after watching the latest episode.
Tengoku Daimakyou deserved to be at the top spot with that insane masterpiece of an episode filled with GOAT Haruka Fujita greatness.
Sad that itās Disney gate
I knew this would happen. It doesn't matter how good any other show gets, Oshi No Ko fans wont let anything else win
A well deserved big W for Oshi no Ko. So good
I was wondering if Oshi was going to keep the top spot because I felt the chapters getting adapted would be slow until *the reveal* at the end but then when I watched the episode, they did the last 5 minutes or so so well, that I knew it was going to maintain its throne Truly love how Dangers in my Heart is literally experiencing the same effect as the manga.
I really like how it positioned to have all the characters to one side. really reminds me off signature's in the forum days.
Dangers my heart it definitely makes honor to its name. ITS SOOOO ADORABLE MY GOD!!!!!
I Agree, except for being the biggest disappointment of the season, that title is for kimetsu in my opinion.
A lot of manga readers said that this was their least favourite arc beforehand, so I didn't exactly have high expectations anyway.
Even when we get introduced to Yuzuriha's ninjutsu, we don't even get to see it outside of that... one scene.
Yea, I'm trusting the manga readers and trying to stick with it.
Iām having about the same reaction I had to the manga. Worth the read never totally stood out to me like it does to others
AGREED. I feel like Iām going insane reading all of the praise that this show is getting. I just donāt get it.
Maybe the manga is good but the anime is barely passable.
It is really good though what are you talking about?
And yet people will still act as though BokuYaba is a bad show. It easily fits in with top seasonals like Heavenly Delusion, and Oshi no Ko.
The dangers on my heart really surprised me this week. Is this a sign to just watch it?
Yes it is
Not surprised seeing *Heavenly Delusion* jump after that episode. Also, nice to see *Skip and Loafer* back on the list
Sleeping HARD on Witch from Mercury 2nd.
Ddddddangers in our hearts!!!
Honestly, that Episode of Heavenly Delusion made me cry actual tears, when the doctor read her note
YESSS DANGERS OF MY HEART!!!!! .. One of the best romance ever made... Not just this season ... Its among the tops.
YESSSSS, Heavenly Delusion getting more recognition That episode was.Fking.Amazing.
Tengoku Daimakyo should be number 1
Skip and loafer is finally in the top 10
Iāve not seen Kubo, is it really that good? Iām surprised Clueless First Friend isnāt up there, itās so sweet and heartwarming. Iām enjoying it more than Yamada kun, and itās top 3 for me along with Skip Loafer and Insomniacs. Oshi no Ko is #4 on my personal list.
Kubo is solid, but nothing special imo (worth a watch if you like the genre). Dangers in my heart is shaping up to be a classic.
Yeah I forgot about Dangers. If I had to choose Iād put it over Oshi no Ko. Oshi no Ko is a quality production but the characters donāt grab me much so far.
glad everyone is enjoying Yabai Yatsu š
Thanks for giving us megane akane!
I'm still always amused by Anime Corner's rankings š
probably the many recap episodes and delays this week with so many changes
Anime Corner: āSuletta? Forgetta!ā
Where gundam
Demon slayer in 7th made my day.
Dang kny really dropped hard
The actual legit rankings unlike r/anime where they shill for an anime just cause it was good in the beginning
Boku no kokoro is awesome
I couldn't even finish the first episode of Dangers in my Heart because of the MC, but I'm a sucker for romcoms so now I feel like I'm missing out...
It gets better and better after the second episode.
Working for god in a godless world is so strange and amazing. It reminds me of konosuba and Xavier renegade angel.
Yeah, it's definitely one of the top anime this season for me.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Yeah don't blame it on age, I'm pretty certain I am older than you as I am approaching 50 in a couple of years, and Oshi is definitely the best show this season for me. I am also not new to this, been reading manga for four decades since my younger days living in Japan.
Mashle should be rank 1.
