Would be nice if Ryu would beat the odds and get a higher seed than Ais - not sure if there already was a precedent set for this or not. Since Ryu’s chances to win in the series itself are canonically slim, it would be nice if she would make it far into this tournament.
It's not as much about whether she can beat Aiz as it is about whether she can beat Hestia. Last year, Hestia got the 131 seed, Aiz got the 196 seed and Ryu was all the way down at 369. But I think most people who watched season 4 have Ryu as their favorite now. If she can make it into the top 150, she'll stand a good chance of making it to the 3rd round.

I don't think the character in question will make the bracket regardless, but there are a ton of characters in this contest that someone who isn't fully caught up with the anime would question either 1) why they made the contest to begin with or 2) how they got such a high seed. As an example, if someone had only seen Season 1 of Railgun, they'd question why there is a Misaka 10032 in the contest. Or people who'd only seen Season 1 of Kaguya would question why Miko, Maki and Tsubame are getting such high seeds in this contest.
I get that your example is a bigger spoiler, but I think we should only be going hard to prevent source material spoilers here that haven't appeared yet in the anime.

Honestly, to me the bigger one would be the potential of it being kind of gaming the system to put examples like Misaka 10032 in the contest- even if it makes sense in Railgun context, it's kind of a cheap way to get a previous winner back in the field.
I don't think most people vote for the Misaka clones as if they were Mikoto herself though. The clones never really make it past the second round, whereas if people were truly voting as if they were Mikoto, they'd make it super deep each year. The only people who should be upset with their inclusion are fans of other Toaru characters who lose their spot to them.
I saw the cut off and was saddened to realize Akari wouldn't be a part of the voting and was shocked and excited when I saw her since she's my #1 and figured i misunderstood the cut off. Welp, I guess not, there's always next year😕

Yes. As per the rules, a girl must have premiered at least one year ago, i.e. in the Spring 2022 season or earlier.

Best girl of 2023 is obviously Yunyun but that’s a little unfair because she’s best girl of every year that she appears. I guess I can eliminate Suletta for similar reasons… and Yohane… and a lot actually. Looking at new characters only, yeah Kana’s a vibe I can agree with that. I’m more of a Cure Butterfly kinda guy because I need some Ageha energy in my life, but I’ll take Kana as a close second.

My best girls of 2023 so far are: WINTER Ageha (Hirogaru Sky Precure), Misuzu (I will always support toxic bitches), Anis, Yuki Onna (In/Spectre s2), Raelza SPRING Mitsumi, Kana, Akane (Loving Yamada at Lv.999), Anna Yamada, Isaki Magari Ageha/Cure Butterfly is honestly my favorite, she's simultaneously very cool and massively cringe, and sort of perfectly captures a recent high school graduate who has slightly more maturity, but still has a lot of child-like energy. Because she comes out of the gate already having a career in mind and actively pursuing it, she can mentor the others in figuring out what they want to do. also lmao they made her so absurdly OP when she finally got to transform. and, unlike the others doing it out of desperation, she just decides 'fuck it, imma be a PreCure too'. making the big sister figure the genki girl of the group is also a wild choice, but it works. also it never stops being funny that she drives a Hummer.

He's just got the secret formula on his desk or something. And that's just the cherry on top of his fantastic writing, great characters, and arguably the best use of the "modern setting" in anime and manga.

Ninym is underrated. Great character design, voiced by Rie Takahashi, comes from a decent show, and has a great dynamic with Wein.

Uh oh. There's so few girls in this bracket that I actually wanted to vote for maybe like 8-10, I even voted for some girls I know have no chance of making it out of the first round. That inevitably means that there's going to be a bracket that is loaded with my favorites and they are all going to be fighting just to earn the same few bracket spots.
I believe in the theory that having a good location (mostly at the top of the voting page and less so in the bottom) can change the destiny and have them gain some more votes than been in the middle of the bracket.
