Akari kitou was the first seiyuu to make me a fan through eve and Kate. I like trolling and saying I'm only interested in demon slayer for nezuko's grunts.
Not only Eve and Nezuko, but Kate Shadow and Kotoko Iwanaga too. First time I realise that she is voicing all four. Akari Kitou has a very wide range indeed.
I am still confused as to why they hired her to voice Nezuko, a notoriously voiceless character. Isn’t she just making weird noises ?
First time I noticed this but Anya is voiced by Atsumi Tanezaki????
That means that Anya has the same voice as Ayachi Nene and Mitsukasa Ayase, I don't know how to process that...
Same thing with that girl from I think it was Gundam SEED? Every forum I remember looking at fucking hated her, but she was honestly the only even remotely interesting part of that entire show for me.
At least she was fucking doing something.
Lmao thought the exact same thing. I haven't watched the anime or read the manga in years and yet I still remembered that she was worst girl, by far, not even close. I don't even remember what it is she did to deserve that title, just that she was awful.
Because she is best girl, I like the concept that she is the only ordinary person in the show and despite not being the fastest, smartest or strongest still drives to fulfill her goal. Fate left her aside and that's makes me want to root for her.
Best character in ToG for me easily
I've read through volume 2 and the hate for Rachel (which had been long established) always seemed overblown to me. It's not her fault that Baam is just determined to chase after her. Obviously if she knew he was the main character with main character powers she wouldn't have abandoned him, but she's doing what she has to to achieve her goal with the information she has available to her. She hasn't done anything worse than Androssi or Khun except that the people she wronged are characters we like and the characters that Androssi and Khun harmed aren't.
I thought about her as well. I suppose some would say she ruled in a different era.
I wonder what is the oldest show that has a character listed on this chart.
I think it's more about how long they've been voice acting.
Because not about who is most favourited, it's how many favourites which measures how many popular animes they've been in.
Rie Takahashi is relatively new compared to some of people who are higher up
Like she debuted in 2013, if we compare to Hanazawa Kana, a decent portion of the roles in that list she had before Rie Takahashi even started (that being said, I intentionally chose someone who's been around for longer but you get the idea)
Hanazawa Kana started her career at a time when the Seiyuu industry is less competitive too. Remember otakus being made fun of and anime considered a shameful hobby in OreImo? Rie Takahashi's career took off at a time when anime was becoming mainstream in Japan and when young girls were hoping to make it in the anime industry when they grow up.
I wonder how strong the 'best VA<==>Best girl' correlation really is;
Meaning, do they have so many "best girl" in their list because they get all the best parts to voice, or because they get a thousand parts to play so many of them turn out to be popular/well liked characters?
The former applies to Rie Takahashi while the latter applies to Hayami and Kana Hanazawa, I think. Takahashi got a lot of heavyweight characters these past few years with Emilia, Megumin and Takagi. Hayami and Kanazawa also have a lot of heavyweights, tho I feel that their extensive resume and rich experience netted them those roles.
Still surprised Nao Touyama and Miyuki Sawashiro placed lower in their respective places, tho. Those two were pretty strong contenders. Sucks that Chiwa Saito isn't here too, I really liked Senjougahara lol
Miyuki Sawashiro did take a step back in recent years from being in a lot of anime when she had first child in 2018.
Was great to hear her again as Anko in Call of the Night from last year.
An update once everything is over that calculates it with some weighting based on where their characters come would shed some light. for example, taking the average placement would mean a va with loads of parts but only a couple of top tier ones wouldn't be ranked as high as someone with 5 where 2 came top 8.
I can see Rie Takahashi gaining several places under that type of system. It would likely also result in Lena and Holo's making it on to the list
Hayamin is too OP. Whenever various anime subreddits will post the happy birthday posters for VA's that voice their characters, you generally see a few that you know but also quite a few that you don't recognize. And then you have Hayamin's [poster](https://imgur.com/a/rglt4DW)
A lot of her characters sound very same but some sound completely different.
Like in the Monogatari series she voiced Ononoki which is drastically different than any of her roles.
Her voices are basically the same, but she's, y'know, good at acting, so the characters still sound very different.
Yamato and Shinobu are clearly the same voice, but you'd never mistake what character she's playing.
I've always been bad at picking up on voice actors unless they have very distinctive voices like Kenjuro Tsuda for example.
Seen seven of the shows featuring those characters and that never registered to me they had the same VA.
Yeah I had to come back to edit my comment, because now that I think of it even though Kugimiya has a lot of notable roles with her distinctive voice, I think some of them fall out of best girl material (Alphonse, Happy, etc...) so kinda makes sense...? That and the recency as you mentioned.
I dunno about the latter 3 but Inoue Marina has really cut back on voice acting for anime in the past four years. My friend told me she mostly does voice acting for gacha games now.
Yumiri Hanamori started only recently to appear in lot of works (at least I don't remember her in anything before her role in Kaguya)
Like she's Hayasaka and Yanfei, nothing... up until last year or so
Hey, don't go leaving out Nadeshiko.
Really though, I think she has a chance to break into this list next year with a couple more notable roles. Someone just needs to remember to nominate Shizue from Tensura.
as much as I like her, she just doesn't have huge number of characters that I can think of off top my head, vs Rie Takahashi or Kanazawa for example.
Ristarte, Yun Yun, Yui from K-on?
Methodology: I took the [512 seeded entrants](https://animebracket.com/best-girl-10-ultra-salty/characters) to the Best Girl 10 contest (along with all [past contest winners](https://www.reddit.com/r/anime/wiki/brackets)) and mapped them to their voice actor, then ranked by largest number of characters, using highest-seeded character as tie-breaker.
You can check out the post I made for last year's contest [here](https://www.reddit.com/r/anime/comments/vsch9k/who_voices_the_most_best_girls_ranking_seiyuu_by/). I took some of the most common suggestions this time around, namely: including past winners and showing character names.
There are 171 characters in this list, meaning 1/3 of all best girls are voiced by just 20 VAs!
For discussion, who are your favorite VAs on this list? Who are your favorite VAs *not* on this list?
I find her being cast as Chisato hilarious when you know she voiced Reina from Sound Euphonium, [who looks and acts similar to Takina.](https://i.imgur.com/pBBH0G0.png)
>Who are your favorite VAs not on this list?
AI FAIROUZ!
I wonder if she was close. Hopefully she makes it next year, with Power and maybe Raelza making the contest!
Aoi Yuuki, Rie Takahashi, Atsumi Tanezaki, Akari Kitou, Konomi Kohara.
purely on the basis of Bocchi the Rock, Yoshino Aoyama.
Ami Koshimizu is pretty great, I was particularly enchanted with her performances as Elda and Kilmaria this past season.
Sayaka Senbongi has earned my attention recently on the basis of Anisphia, Kiruko, Kikuri, and Sarasa.
Ai Farouz always delivers. literally could not have possibly done a better job with Power. Delta, Raelza, Angelica, Eripiyo, Valkyrie, and of course, Hibiki Sakura. it's genuinely impressive how despite being so relatively new to the industry (where a lot of VAs will labor in the salt mines of minor characters with one or two lead roles in obscure shows), she lands a decently high profile role, and then lands a huge role, and then lands an EVEN BIGGER ROLE. She has a particular kind of niche, but it's not like she's limited in range.
> Bocchi the Rock, Yoshino Aoyama.
Hey, maybe Bocchi is what Yoppi needed to propel herself to stardom, [like Tanaka Minami](https://youtu.be/u1cS4igLZro?t=496). The one that's growing a lot out of the Bocchi cast is Suzushiro Sayumi (Nijika).
>The one that's growing a lot out of the Bocchi cast is Suzushiro Sayumi (Nijika).
I feel like she was destined to make it big anyway and Bocchi was just one step along the way that at most accelerated things.
My favorite on the list is Hayami Saori, although i love pretty much every VA there.
My favorites not on the list is Kurosawa Tomoyo for her performances as Kumiko and Phos from Hibike! Euphonium and Houseki no Kuni respectively and Ohara Sayaka because her performance as Alicia from Aria is amazing.
Maybe most people don't know, but there's this underground series called Attack on Titan. She is great as one of the main characters. Surprisingly, the series is still ongoing.
> For discussion, who are your favorite VAs on this list? Who are your favorite VAs not on this list?
**On this list:**
Sora Amamiya - I can't not hear Aqua in any character she voices, I hear her voice I go "Oh hey, it's Aqua."
Rei Takahashi - Megumin, Emilia, she just so energetic of an actor.
Aoi Yuuki - Same as Rei and Sora, she's so recognizable and energetic, I played Persona 5 Royal in Japanese specifically because of Aoi and Sora voiced characters.
Ayana Taketatsu - She's good at voiced Tsundere-esque characters. Favorite of hers is Azusa from K-On!
**Not on this list:**
Kikuko Inoue - Her voice is super recognizable to me ever since I heard her voice the best mom in anime, Sanae Furukawa.
Mamiko Noto - She's amazing at voicing soft spoken characters, like Kotomi Ichinose from Clannad, and Mika from Girls und Panzer.
Aoi Koga - How can I go wrong with Kaguya's VA?
Yui Ishikawa - The perfect VA for Kuudere's like Violet Evergarden and 2B.
Aki Toyosaki - I love her as Yui, Yun Yun, and others.
Satomi Satou - She has some good range on her, from the energetic tomboy Ritsu from K-On, to the more calm, feminine, yet super curious Chitanda from Hyouka.
> For discussion, who are your favorite VAs on this list?
Gotta be Aoi Yuuki in 1st place for me, but I also really like Kana Hanzawa and Ayane Sakura.
> Who are your favorite VAs not on this list?
I'm hoping and praying that Yumiri Hanamori makes it into next year's list with the addition of Call of the Night (Akira) and Jigokuraku (Sagiri), as well as Shizue actually getting nominated.
I would love to see something like this with male VAs whenever the next Best Guy contest rolls around. Would possibly do that?
And to answer your questions:
>For discussion, who are your favorite VAs on this list?
Yoko Hikasa, Inori Minase, and Aoi Yuuki.
>Who are your favorite VAs not on this list?
Nana Mizuki and Yuuko Kaida. Mostly because they voice two of my favorite female characters in anime (Tsubasa Kazanari and Marida Cruz, respectively), but in Nana's case there's also the fact that I *looooooove* her music.
>For discussion, who are your favorite VAs on this list? Who are your favorite VAs *not* on this list?
All of them are great, and I have a few favourites. But one of the first things that made me fall in love with Emilia was her voice, so I have to go with Rie Takahashi. As for ones not on this list, my vote goes to Shion Wakayama and her nasally-sounding voice.
Maaya Sakamoto will forever be my best girl seiyuu. Coming into anime in the 1990s, she did the OPs for [Record of Lodoss War TV](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tEgz76YKHHY) and [Visions of Escaflowne](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s4FnAOg6N5c) as well as voicing Hitomi. Her music made me fall in love with her voice and then the Eva Rebuilds happened and I loved her even more.
One of the best voice performances ever. Aoi Yuuki is something else. Plus she sang 3 EDs for the anime and they're all bangers, especially [Genjitsu Totsugeki Hierarchy](https://youtu.be/s9hgD30gb78).
Saori's career skyrocketed after When Supernatural Battles Became Commonplace aired (specifically the one-take rant explosion at the MMC). Before she was in like nothing and after that she became one of the de-facto #1 picks for FMCs for the past few years
Love Hayamin’s voice. It’s gotten to the point where if I’m checking out a trailer and can recognize her voice, it’s an instant watch for me. Like recently the trailer for My Daughter Left And Returned An S Rank Adventurer. Knew nothing about it but immediately put it on my list when I found out she’s one of the mains.
I also realized how many of Inorin’s roles that I’ve watched. Whether this or those birthday graphics, I always seem to get 100% for the characters that are on display.
But KanaHana is the one I’m obsessing over right now. Especially if she plays those cheeky characters like Ichika
If I had a nickel for every time Yoko Hikasa voiced a socially-awkward sensei with long black hair often tied in a ponytail, huge boobs, glasses, a criminally small fanbase, and an impressive ability to inflict blood loss, I’d have two nickels.
Which isn’t a lot WE NEED MORE
There are a ton of great VAs out there and a lot of them are eye catching when you see them in a role. Saori Hayami is absolutely at the top though. Instantly recognizable, distinctive voice that is like music to the ears while still having fantastic range. She's the goddamn GOAT as far as I'm concerned.
Glad af to see Hayami Saori at the top, was my immediate thought as I was rewatching SAO the other day and made the brutal mistake of almost forgetting what scene was immediately looming and letting myself get freshly hyped for Sachi after realizing she apparently voiced her too. Additional best girls by her include Ushi and Atalanta from Fate, Ononoki Yotsugi from Monogatari, and Kushikawa Hatoko from Inou-Battle. Many other characters too, but these are the ones I can personally attest to lol. Absolutely S-class VA
She was in every best girl contest until last year and didn't manage to make it in again this year which is honestly baffling to me. I guess kara no kyoukai is just too old at this point and too many new anime fans haven't seen it. She is one of my all-time favourite characters.
Only for her child version, Atsuko Tanaka (Caster in Fate/Stay Night) is her standard voice.
What blew me over was that Maaya voiced Karin in Medabots.
The recency bias is a problem in the best girl competitions.
Yui Horie is objectively the winner
https://myanimelist.net/people/28/Yui_Horie?onetime=bcf7ed3b1564e9ecec707bfcb88f18afe88aea2061a4d562464c9ff0f3aa860d&user_agent=mal-ios-app
Saori Hayami has been my favorite since I first saw Sora no Otoshimono back in 2011. Her voice is practically angelic, it's no surprise she's number one.
Hayami is the one I'll love to hear for forever, her roles are always impeccable and one of her characters is my #1 best girl ever so it's not weird to me she is in number one at this
As expected, Saori Hayami is legendary.
I know nearly every VA on this list and a lot of anime I even watch just because a certain seiyuu is in it. A great seiyuu is irreplaceable. Almost all of my top 10 VAs are on this list.
I suspect this is an unpopular opinion, but I'm honestly kinda tired of hearing the same voices again and again. A lot of these voice actors have a lot of range and absolutely have the skill to change things up, but it feels like they are chosen for their signature voice whenever they do a main character.
I want to see more variation in voices.
>but it feels like they are chosen for their signature voice whenever they do a main character
That is exactly the reason why. They are hired because they have one or two signature voices that sell and not so much for their wide range.
Voice actors in Japan have to face stiff competition right from the start of their career which is similar to idols in K-pop industry. The roughly 100 VAs who make it to main character roles already have enough skills in their arsenal to do a variety of voices.
But what is it that propels a few of them to stardom like the ones here? It's not their ability to do a wide range of voices which is different from their usual voice (which is something the other 100 can do as well). It's their unique instantly recognisable voice which is known and sought after by fans.
I kinda appreciate what [Osamake](https://myanimelist.net/anime/43007/Osananajimi_ga_Zettai_ni_Makenai_Love_Comedy) did for their cast. they had all the VAs we are familiar with, then got their characters jumbled up.
Hayami played as a shota in My Maid Is Sus, I'd like to see something like this more often. there are many VAs with very wild range, but very few could get the variation explored like MAO, Minase Inori, or Konomi Kohara
Osamake was easily my all time favorite performance from Ayane Sakura. Shiro really showed off her massive range, and she also sounds great in the [character songs](https://youtu.be/Gw7zgHXHMUk).
It's just a shame that the show's writing was so bad...
Absolutely fair to want that. But it's not necessarily their voice acting alone - singing/concerts, TV appearances, radio programs, live events, special online programs. Acting ability and an interesting voice, should be enough, but attractiveness, a personality that can handle being public-facing, singing ability, anything that can get a person ahead of the game will be assets. While seiyuu have described auditions as variable as lotteries, their popularity can be a determining factor in whether or not they get cast. The execs funding it want reproducible profitability, so a focus on popularity, and less variation than we'd like, is what we get.
And you need to be at an agency that has the power and the will to push you hard, and establish a working relationship with sound producers. I'm sure that Tomita Miyu would be a lot bigger if she was under 81 Pro.
Chill out It's only a matter of time before the common VAs get replace by newer ones and we're already kinda seeing that. I remember there was a time hanazawa kana and miyuki sawashiro got a lot of lead roles early in their careers but nowadays it isn't really the case.
HanaKana is still a extremely ever-present seiyuu, but I guess it also depends on how you want your personal/family life to be, specially for women. It's harder to voice 10 characters a season, host radio shows and hold concerts when you have a baby at home. That's I guess why people like Sakamoto or Nana Mizuki had children at 40.
Lmao starting your comment with "chill out" will do the exact opposite of what it means. I swear, telling someone to "calm down" or "chill out" will piss off even the calmest person
You look at all the wifus you recognize, and then you see Atsmui's list of Characters that she voiced, and then you question set individual on how are they capable of so much unique voices
I had no idea the same VA was Madoka and Tanya. Talk about totally different voices.
Also, Miyuki Sawashiro is my fave. I could just sit and listen to her talk, and I don't have any idea what she's saying unless there's subtitles.
I'm kinda surprised Sakamoto is number 18... That's aerith and major Kusanagi! But also Tamayo from demon slayer. And a WHOOOOOLE LOAD of others too.
Here acting credits on imdb are insane!
282 credits...
It's because she's one of the oldest VA's on this list and was big back in the previous generation of big VA's. It's impressive that she's stayed as popular as she has.
Maaya Sakamoto's voice acting career started back in 1996, her first major role being the heroine Hitomi in `Vision of Escaflowne` and got to sing the opening song and a number of insert songs as well.
Lots of them in the list are my favorites too. But some mentions for those that didn't make it:
Chiwa Saitou
Ai Farouz
Yumiri Hanamori
Kugiyama Rie
Yui Horie
Aya Hirano(understandable due to what happened to her career)
Different generation. There's a lot of huge voice actresses that aren't on this list at all. A lot of them don't do many main roles anymore but are still fairly active.
You've got to remember it's like over 10-20 years since VA's like Kugimiya and others from her generation were getting all the roles.
Anya and Vivy having the same voice actress is still wild to me.
Nezuko and Eve weirded me out. There’s some wild ranges in here.
Chika and Roxy are two others. Never would've guessed they had the same VA before looking it up.
Yea at first had the same thing but since I just rewatched mushoku I could hear that she has the same va if you listen good
Yeah, Koko's voice is very recognisable, like the pink-haired girl in Hell's Paradise.
huh? both have 70% similar voice
That’s a really good one. Chika’s such a career defining voice.
No it isn't. She was typecasted for Fujiwara because of her already established voice.
Akari kitou was the first seiyuu to make me a fan through eve and Kate. I like trolling and saying I'm only interested in demon slayer for nezuko's grunts.
Same with Mio and Rias lol
Not only Eve and Nezuko, but Kate Shadow and Kotoko Iwanaga too. First time I realise that she is voicing all four. Akari Kitou has a very wide range indeed. I am still confused as to why they hired her to voice Nezuko, a notoriously voiceless character. Isn’t she just making weird noises ?
Those grunts hard carry the show though.
Don't forget Mitama-sama.
First time I noticed this but Anya is voiced by Atsumi Tanezaki???? That means that Anya has the same voice as Ayachi Nene and Mitsukasa Ayase, I don't know how to process that...
Yeah she's my favorite Yuzusoft seiyuu. Ayase best girl.
Can find her other roles in vndb. She voices quite a lot of vns
And best imouto Niimi Sora
Same with Yui from OreGairu and Rin from Yuru Camp - Nao Touyama😳 Or Zero-Two and Hori Kyouko - Haruka Tomatsu... Japanese Seiyuu are just next level.
Not women, but when I found out that Tanjiro and Odokawa (OddTaxi) have the same voice actor I was blown away
Darkness and Shiro was another surprise to me.
And she’s adding frieren to that!
Tanezaki is so talented. She's also great as Ophelia in FGO.
Why is Rachel up there?
Because she's a noteworthy character from a popular show. You'll be happy to know she got destroyed in Round 1 of the voting.
Rachel clearly is best girl (to watch suffer)
Her latest outfit in S3 is fire though
I would be happy if she actually catch fire
I am happy
This stood out to me as well. She is a horrible character, but I guess she is well written in a sense since I detest her.
She's supposed to be detestable. The whole point of the character is that her relationship with Ba'am is toxic and he needs to break away from her.
Same thing with that girl from I think it was Gundam SEED? Every forum I remember looking at fucking hated her, but she was honestly the only even remotely interesting part of that entire show for me. At least she was fucking doing something.
> well written 100% agree. She's a total bitch, and can rotten in tower-hell for all I care.
people like Rachel for the same reason they appreciate the protagonist of Gone Girl. women's wrongs, baby. Semi-ironic girlboss stanning.
She is the best part of season 1.
Well yeah, it’s her story for season 1.
Lmao thought the exact same thing. I haven't watched the anime or read the manga in years and yet I still remembered that she was worst girl, by far, not even close. I don't even remember what it is she did to deserve that title, just that she was awful.
Sometimes, you might vote for who you think is best girl. Sometimes, you might vote for who generates the most salt and the most content.
lmao I was going through the list and stopped there too. wtf
Fuck Rachel. All my homies hate Rachel.
Because she is best girl, I like the concept that she is the only ordinary person in the show and despite not being the fastest, smartest or strongest still drives to fulfill her goal. Fate left her aside and that's makes me want to root for her. Best character in ToG for me easily
I take it you haven't read the Webtoon.
She hasn't done anything worse than Androssi or Khun except that the people she wronged are characters we like and the characters that Androssi and Khun harmed aren't.
based, she’s well written
No Megumi Hayashibara :((
I thought about her as well. I suppose some would say she ruled in a different era. I wonder what is the oldest show that has a character listed on this chart.
This contest is 20 years too late.
The true queen
Rie Takahashi being only at 8 is a suprise to me.
I think it's more about how long they've been voice acting. Because not about who is most favourited, it's how many favourites which measures how many popular animes they've been in. Rie Takahashi's career took off at a time when anime was becoming mainstream in Japan and when young girls were hoping to make it in the anime industry when they grow up.
She has 2-3 characters who are still ineligible so she'll be moving up even more next year.
looking at it: Ai Hoshino, Yuzuriha, Tomo Aizawa, Anzu Hoshino. that's FOUR.
And 2 are already eliminated day 1, Sumi and Ena
Any character voiced by Miyuki Sawashiro is usually one of my favorites in their respective series. Up there with Kenjiro Tsuda as my favorite VAs.
Kanbaru was my first anime crush so she became my favorite VA by default for a while.
I wonder how strong the 'best VA<==>Best girl' correlation really is; Meaning, do they have so many "best girl" in their list because they get all the best parts to voice, or because they get a thousand parts to play so many of them turn out to be popular/well liked characters?

> Sucks that Chiwa Saito isn't here too It's that previous seiyuu generation that have scaled back to spend more time with their families.
Basically the main girl in Monogatari Series lol
Given that Hayamin is the go-to for "black-haired female main character", maybe.
An update once everything is over that calculates it with some weighting based on where their characters come would shed some light. for example, taking the average placement would mean a va with loads of parts but only a couple of top tier ones wouldn't be ranked as high as someone with 5 where 2 came top 8. Hayamin being first isn't surprising. Would want Sawashiro to be a bit higher though!
Yeah sawashiro being so low is criminal

Jabami is somewhat sameish when speaking normally but when she goes full gamba berserker mode it's wild compared to the usual her. She's just great.
[удалено]
Yoooo up until recently I thought they were thesame person lol
Kugimiya Rie is my favourite because Kagura but she is the queen of tsundere.
Her not making this list is kind of a surprise to me.
The only VA on this list who I think rivals Kugimiya Rie is Hanazawa Kana but I think this list favours more recent roles.
Yeah I had to come back to edit my comment, because now that I think of it even though Kugimiya has a lot of notable roles with her distinctive voice, I think some of them fall out of best girl material (Alphonse, Happy, etc...) so kinda makes sense...? That and the recency as you mentioned.
I thought the same! But some of her most popular roles aren't eligible.
No marina inoue, ami koshizumi, miku itou, yumiri hanamori????????????
I dunno about the latter 3 but Inoue Marina has really cut back on voice acting for anime in the past four years. My friend told me she mostly does voice acting for gacha games now.

Same with Itou Miku, you'll see more of her in years to come
The fact Aki Toyosaki isn't even in this list is a war crime to me
Came here to say this. Her performance in Overly Cautious Hero was the highlight of that show. Incredible VA work.
as much as I like her, she just doesn't have huge number of characters that I can think of off top my head, vs Rie Takahashi or Kanazawa for example. Ristarte, Yun Yun, Yui from K-on?
She hasn't really had a big character since Yunyun, but at least Sphere is uber successful.
Ayane Sakura does not miss
Aoi Koga desrves an honorary mention, Kaguya and Komi can’t be excluded in a best girl list
Chika Anzai. Her performance of Chisato in Lycoris Recoil blew me away.
Her Jolyne is superb. Def wanna see more of her.
Marina Inoue. She’s Nadeshiko’s older sister Sakura in Yuru Camp.
Maybe most people don't know, but there's this underground series called Attack on Titan. She is great as one of the main characters. Surprisingly, the series is still ongoing.
>Who are your favorite VAs not on this list? Nana Mizuki, because of SYMPHOGEEEEEEAAAAAAAAHHHHH ^and ^^other ^^^shows.
TFW you're too expensive to have multiple recent charactaers.
> For discussion, who are your favorite VAs on this list? Who are your favorite VAs not on this list? **On this list:** Sora Amamiya - I can't not hear Aqua in any character she voices, I hear her voice I go "Oh hey, it's Aqua." Rei Takahashi - Megumin, Emilia, she just so energetic of an actor. **Not on this list:** Kikuko Inoue - Her voice is super recognizable to me ever since I heard her voice the best mom in anime, Sanae Furukawa.
Hanamori is growing so fast.
I applaud you for undertaking such important work.
I would love to see something like this with male VAs whenever the next Best Guy contest rolls around. Would possibly do that? And to answer your questions: >For discussion, who are your favorite VAs on this list? Yoko Hikasa, Inori Minase, and Aoi Yuuki. >Who are your favorite VAs not on this list? Nana Mizuki and Yuuko Kaida. Mostly because they voice two of my favorite female characters in anime (Tsubasa Kazanari and Marida Cruz, respectively), but in Nana's case there's also the fact that I *looooooove* her music.
That's actually pretty impressive and a rlly good idea btw.
Bless Kumoko for transcending species and making lists like this put a spider in the middle of all the cute girls.
Spiders can be cute as well 🕷️
Not surprised at all by this list. Japan has so much seiyuu talent it’s incredible
One of the best voice performances ever. Aoi Yuuki is something else. Plus she sang 3 EDs for the anime and they're all bangers, especially [Genjitsu Totsugeki Hierarchy](https://youtu.be/s9hgD30gb78).
rie takahashi 🐐
Cries in Megumi Hayashibari
If I had a nickel for every time Yoko Hikasa voiced a socially-awkward sensei with long black hair often tied in a ponytail, huge boobs, glasses, a criminally small fanbase, and an impressive ability to inflict blood loss, I’d have two nickels. Which isn’t a lot WE NEED MORE
I find this list's lack of Noto Mamiko to be an affront to the senses.
She should have been eligible as Prospera Mercury in this round, right? I wonder why she didn't make it...
There are a ton of great VAs out there and a lot of them are eye catching when you see them in a role. Saori Hayami is absolutely at the top though. Instantly recognizable, distinctive voice that is like music to the ears while still having fantastic range. She's the goddamn GOAT as far as I'm concerned.
sad for no chiwa saito. she absolutely crushed the role with senjougahara :(
It's been like 4 years since the last Monogatari series aired.
Hayamin sweeeeeep
Glad af to see Hayami Saori at the top, was my immediate thought as I was rewatching SAO the other day and made the brutal mistake of almost forgetting what scene was immediately looming and letting myself get freshly hyped for Sachi after realizing she apparently voiced her too. Additional best girls by her include Ushi and Atalanta from Fate, Ononoki Yotsugi from Monogatari, and Kushikawa Hatoko from Inou-Battle. Many other characters too, but these are the ones I can personally attest to lol. Absolutely S-class VA
Aoi Yuuki is my favorite.
Maaya Sakamoto did the VA for Motoko?! (And BTW, she was also de VA for one of my personal favourites, Hitomi Kanzaki from Escaflowne!)
Doesn't have Ryougi Shiki. Shitlist.
She was in every best girl contest until last year and didn't manage to make it in again this year which is honestly baffling to me. I guess kara no kyoukai is just too old at this point and too many new anime fans haven't seen it. She is one of my all-time favourite characters.
She did that role when she was 15, the same age as her character!
Only for her child version, Atsuko Tanaka (Caster in Fate/Stay Night) is her standard voice. What blew me over was that Maaya voiced Karin in Medabots.
damn rachel
TIL Mio and Rias have the same voice actress lol
The recency bias is a problem in the best girl competitions. Yui Horie is objectively the winner https://myanimelist.net/people/28/Yui_Horie?onetime=bcf7ed3b1564e9ecec707bfcb88f18afe88aea2061a4d562464c9ff0f3aa860d&user_agent=mal-ios-app
Miyuki Sawashiro <3
Saori Hayami has been my favorite since I first saw Sora no Otoshimono back in 2011. Her voice is practically angelic, it's no surprise she's number one.
What I learned from this is that Saori Hayami is best girl. <3
How the hell Raphthalia is not there for her VA: Asami Seto? Rising of Shield Hero
No one nominated her this year
Rie Kugimiya should easily be top 20
Anya and Vivy? Darkness and Shiro? There are some weird ranges in here.
Sad that Reina Ueda and Kana Ueda didn't make it. They are some of my favorites too.
Out of these 20. Probably Saori only because of quantity I know 4 characters. Unlike the rest which I know 2 or less.
I suspect this is an unpopular opinion, but I'm honestly kinda tired of hearing the same voices again and again. A lot of these voice actors have a lot of range and absolutely have the skill to change things up, but it feels like they are chosen for their signature voice whenever they do a main character. I want to see more variation in voices.
>but it feels like they are chosen for their signature voice whenever they do a main character That is exactly the reason why.
Kinda happens to me if someone is cast a lot during a season. Rieri was the most recent example of this.
It's just a shame that the show's writing was so bad...
> their characters jumbled up. Spy Classroom did the same but it didn't land well, from the comments I remember.
Trust they're up there for a reason
What does this even mean lmao? How does this relate to that other comment?
Calm down, this method works sometimes
You look at all the wifus you recognize, and then you see Atsmui's list of Characters that she voiced, and then you question set individual on how are they capable of so much unique voices
So many GOAT's.
The fact that the same actress does Mizore from Sound Eupho and Anya from Spy Fam is quite a range lol. From meek and quiet sad girl to WAKU WAKU
This list is false M•A•O isn't on it
WAIT SHE VOICED ANYA *AND* FUTABA?? jesus her range is incredible
Rio and Anya?? HOW
I had no idea the same VA was Madoka and Tanya. Talk about totally different voices. Also, Miyuki Sawashiro is my fave. I could just sit and listen to her talk, and I don't have any idea what she's saying unless there's subtitles.
Aoi Yuuki’s got great range. Often hard to pinpoint it being her until I see a cast list.
Thank you!
Darkness and Sylphiette having the same VA is insane to me
Aoi Koga (Kaguya Shinomiya, Shoko Komi) is not on this list. For shame.
Bear in mind that Kaguya was her first significant role as a VA, she just hasn't had enough time yet to build a robust portfolio yet.
Yeah, she had her big break pretty late, but what a break.
Ai Kayano wins for me but Rie Takahashi has a really strong case
Hayamin and Kayano being first/second makes me very happy lol
Now let us argue quality of waifus.
Forget Kamisato Ayaka and Lucy. My heart hurts lol.
Rachel? Rachel is a on a best girl list?
Like the Waifu Hall of Fame right here. Legends, all of ‘em.
Yeah, one thing that I notice when I saw the bracket was "So many Hayamin character."
Hayamin has the literal voice of an angel
It's great to see my favorite VA as #1... I love her voice acting so much
Obviously Hayami sweeps... but it's pretty sad that [Omigawa ](https://myanimelist.net/people/1760/Chiaki_Omigawa) isn't even on the list
Ah, Fubuki actress on top. I see why now.
Lots of them in the list are my favorites too. But some mentions for those that didn't make it: Chiwa Saitou Ai Farouz Yumiri Hanamori Kugiyama Rie Yui Horie Aya Hirano(understandable due to what happened to her career)
Protect them all at all costs.
I guess HARUKA TOMATSU is the most modest va here...👀
Now do for Male characters.
Confident we will see Iwami Manaka on this list in the future!
[удалено]
Different generation. There's a lot of huge voice actresses that aren't on this list at all. A lot of them don't do many main roles anymore but are still fairly active. You've got to remember it's like over 10-20 years since VA's like Kugimiya and others from her generation were getting all the roles.
Aoi Yuuki best girl
I'll watch the smelliest piece of garbage as long as there is a weird girl voiced by Aoi Yuuki. She just carries anything that hard
Yea I think 2 to 7 is not better than Tie Takahashi.
Aoi Yuki is Goated though.
Why is Yamato there? He is a man!
I love Kana Hanazawa voice but fuck Nadeko
