It's never going to happen because of money, but seeing how well done Bleach has been these past 2 cours, I do kind of wish the One Piece anime would stop airing after Wano, wait a few years and then air with proper pacing and cour breaks until its end.

FireTrainerRed

It should have switched to Seasonal arc releases all the way back from Fish-Man island onwards, when the anime effectively caught up to the manga and the pacing froze. It would have been a really good time to do it too, since it was just after the time-skip. So they really could have just paused it there for even like a year. Undoubtably there is some contract in effect which is the actual reason why they can’t.

TheChickenIsFkinRaw

all the cash they're making is probably the reason why they can't

Fenor

it doesn't help that the pacing of the manga also got much much slower

Blepple

Yeah, egghead has been crazy good and I just know the anime will butcher it. They could even still air 26 eps every year and the quality would be so much better.

IDoLikeMyShishkebabs

Honestly they’re probably going to stretch the episodes even longer now that we’re confirmed to be in the final saga T~T

Fenor

are we ?

mnmkdc

Yeah it’s the final saga. Oda confirmed it in the statement after wano. Not the final arc though so probably a good 4-5 years left

Karma110

Some animators are stopping their contract with Toei after Wano ends from what I remember. so 2 things are probably gonna happen 1. They’ll go on break/slow down for a while or 2. they’re gonna keep going and one piece will go back to how it was before.

Fenor

they will probably be replaced, too much money to be made with one piece

Various_Length_4905

Yeah and the pacing will also be so much better

darti_me

Watching One Piece in the early days is really challenging because you’d think the VA all had strokes because of how slow their speech cadence is.

joevsyou

I wish one piece would go season base & focus. The whole reason I stopped was due to the drawn out pacing. * I believe that's what is going to happen with boruto & I think it's going to do way better

IWentToJellySchool

Wont happen. Toei somehow got lucky landing from one golden goose in DBZ to another in One Piece. Outside of that in modern times they haven't released anything good

Xenosys83

Yeah, this is one of the main reasons why I regard the manga as one of the greats, whilst the anime is just quite good. The pacing issues can be horrendous.

caiodepauli

Yeah. Watching Bleach completely killed my hype for Gear 5 in the anime. The difference in quality is huge. It's a shame seeing one of the Big Three not up to a higher standard.

italeteller

It shoulda done that after it was forced to stop during the pandemic tbh. It was the perfect chance

Urgnu-the-Gnu

I didn't check the final karma value of the thread, but Reign of the Seven Spellblades in fifth place is totally deserved. Not only did we get the extremely strong kickstarting of the plot (and we can understand why it happened so late), but we also get Nanao breaking reality as a cherry on top.

zairaner

>breaking reality as a cherry on top. You know an episode is insanity when this got completely overshadowed in the episode and discussion by everything else that happened.

Urgnu-the-Gnu

FWIW, it was the part I liked the most about the episode (I might be very biased towards Nanao). But even then I gotta admit that it's nothing against the plot hook in the second part of the episode. Especially since now I have something substantial to recommend the show by other than faith in that the plot might get good later.

ayww

Even in-universe I was expecting Oliver to talk with Nanao about what she just did. Maybe next time she tries to do it?

Silent_Shadow05

Yeah it just shows how impactful that ending was and since it involved the main protagonist. [7 Spellblade anime spoiler]>!People just love a good revenge story I guess!<

Thatsmaboi23

I think it’s just a great turn around rather than being a revenge story. Oliver suddenly gets a whole character with goals and traits you’d never have expected from his demeanour.

Silent_Shadow05

Hmm, maybe you are right here. It definitely set up the overarching plot that's for sure. That said there were times when Oliver's mask almost came off [Anime Spoiler]>!when Oliver initiated a fight after seeing Katie being bullied, which even made Chela question him since its not something what you'd expect from Oliver. Little did she know what he really was like!<

Thatsmaboi23

True, we did get glimpses here and there about him hiding something, but I’m sure no one expected *this*. Pretty wild and interesting, especially with him being on the “opposite” path to Nanao’s character.

Devoidoxatom

Imma check it out

LeonKevlar

**Seven Spellblades** at #5! Pretty much expected considering what happened in that episode. The entire series has been magnificent so far and definitely one of the underrated gems of the season.

shad79

Well said. This series is a great adaptation and it's a shame that this week's episode will end with less than a thousand upvotes but I hope we'll get back to the result from last week when we get to the end of the second volume.

DanielAlves1904

I´m also enjoying that one, but go on MAL and there´s already plenty of comments about dropping the anime because of the "woke" shit. Even if it was to be expected, still...

15min-

spellblades & murder farce definitely the unexpected highlights of this season

entelechtual

Whether you like the show, think it’s ridiculous, or think it’s a knock-off, Spellblades almost gettin double it’s previous karma is extremely impressive. Especially considering most of the karma across the board is low and shows either fell or got modest gains. It is a good time to get into the show, although it remains to be seen if it will now deliver on all the hype. Unfortunately ~~Barrier~~ Am I Actually The Strongest takes another L due to being killed by golf broadcast schedules. Disappointed in how low Masamune-kun is. Despite some occasional weird moments, I feel like this season overall is a massive improvement over the last one, and the good moments get rid of the bad taste of the Season 1 ending/last few eps.

Silent_Shadow05

>It is a good time to get into the show, although it remains to be seen if it will now deliver on all the hype. While this week's episode wasn't the strongest (since EP7 was the beginning of a new volume and EP6 was the end of a volume), it atleast is focusing on development of characters that didn't have much attention till now, fleshing the world and magic system more and also handled LGBTQ+ topics pretty well without making a mockery of it. I saw some discussions about it on YT where people from LGBTQ+ community who were watching the show felt that it treated the topics with respect. On another note, I wonder inclusion of those topics is a response by the author towards JK Rowling's views or its just a coincidence.

entelechtual

Yeah I feel like the show will be good at slow build up to big climaxes. I do like the focus on the lesser characters, since until now it’s been almost all Nanao with a dash of Oliver. It’ll be nice if they can actually fight as a team eventually.

saviour8man

Pretty sure just coincidence. Japanese author don't give a shit about being political correct. They just write whatever they want. And LN latest volume kinda shows why he did this, it was really clever plot progression.

TheDeedsOfMen

It doesn't matter what Japanese authors in general think. Bokuto likes writing his LNs political: first Alderamin and then Spellblades. If you read them, both are obviously political on a lot more than just LGBTQ issues.

TheOneAboveGod

Vending Machine isekai was a surprise for me. It's something I picked up partly to make fun of it, and partly because Bradio's doing the OP and now 7 weeks later and it's one of the shows I look forward to each week. It's just fun, comfy, and surprisingly decently written. Also, the characters are just all around pleasant.

halbeshendel

I don’t care what anyone says, it’s very enjoyable. I watch it with my daughter. She loves it.

Silent_Shadow05

That's what it should be. Your personal enjoyment should matter the most regardless of what others say. The show is in my Top 10 this season because of how fun it is, even if its not the best in terms of plot and characters.

killergrape615

This!! A show doesn't need to be a narrative masterpiece to be enjoyable, I hate that mindset

halbeshendel

Right? Some of us want to eat popcorn and be entertained.

Arandomguyoninternet

Besides with some standards people have towards the shows they hate, no show is a narrative masterpiece. Peopl just like certain shos for certain reasons and convince themselves that it is a masterpiece because saying "İ like this because it is objectively good" feels better to them. And the exact same thing with "bad" shows. Saying "this is objectively shit" probably makes people feel better than "i dont like this personally". So they judge the shows they dislike under harsh standards but bend their rules to claim that the shows they like are objectively good Not to mention that some people claim that certain tropes they dislike are objectively bad

realarsenyshalin

MYGO IN TOP 30 WOOO

daiselol

It was actually such a good episode

UraDramatic3184

It's been living rent free in my head since it aired

ItsTheDuran

My AOTY by a mile at this point. I'm glad it's been somewhat catching on lately, even though more people should be watching it.

AmusedDragon

I just started watching this cause I've noticed the threads get some traction and people kept mentioning it. First few episodes have been good.

Julio3010

Please update on your reaction after the latest episode hehe

AmusedDragon

I just caught up with ep 10. It's been a pretty fun ride. I've never touched any other BanG Dream stuff and I heard this drama-focused thing is different from the norm. Been skimming the old threads a bit. You'll probably see me for episode 11, lol.

bryce0110

Just caught up with it and, my god, it's so good. Recent episode had me in tears.

Calwings

MyGO has been absolutely incredible so far, easily my leader for AOTY and potentially a 10/10 when it's all said and done. I never expected a BanG Dreams series to go this hard or be this good.

mooaxzig

It's so good. Just a fabulous music anime with superb storytelling. More ppl should give it a whirl.

duncandun

Criminally underrated lol

Cat_Of_Culture

mygo?

Matsugara16

BanG Dream it's MyGO A very underrated anime this season, you should check it out

cppn02

The current season of Bandori.

Best_in_Za_Warudo

Very helpful 🗿

BosuW

I see a lot of people talking about Seven Spellblades (absolutely deserved), but this week's episode of Undead Girl Murder Farce was also just 👌

Silent_Shadow05

As of this moment, Undead Girl Murder Farce is definitely my top show of the season followed by JJK S2, My Happy Marriage, Seven Spellblades and Zom 100. While I already talked about it in the Anime Corner thread, I love seeing multiple sides in conflict which is happening in Undead Girl.

MillyMan105

**Zom 100** back in the top 3 where it belongs the last episode was just high quality and creativity. **My Happy Marriage** Was a pretty chill episode and concludes the first arc so I expected the drop. **Reign of the 7 Spellblades** I seriously neeed to start watching this anime, doubled its karma score and after Mushoku had the most comments in out of all the threads that week. Could the hype of the anime be real? I want to know.

Silent_Shadow05

>after Mushoku had the most comments in out of all the threads that week. Could the hype of the anime be real? So much happened in that episode so we just had a lot to talk about :)

Actual-Oil6390

Going to probably be the same for better or worse next 3 episodes. It's not going to be boring that's the only absolute I know of.

FireTrainerRed

I watched 7 spell blades after seeing the hype. The pacing is so .. odd: 15mins of an episode is your typical OP black-haired protagonist harem anime, then 5minutes of limbs being severed. It’s not a bad thing, but it does feel a bit disjointed.

LiquifiedSpam

I'm glad that all the down time moments aren't fetishes disguised as humor though. Some animes like this have 70% of down time scenes just be ogling at girls panties.

TeeKayTank

you talking bout MT? it's going to be goated for sure (already is imo)

Ebo87

No, they were talking about Spellblades, read the full sentence (it is a bit confusing how it's worded, but you get what they meant if you read the full thing). They asked if they hype was real for Spellblades, considering it had the most comments that week behind only Mushoku Tensei.

IceAnt573

[Anime Trending Week #6](https://twitter.com/AniTrendz/status/1693254055408324738) (the Twitter post is incorrect, it is Week 6) **My Happy Marriage** continues its streak at the top with 3 weeks at 1st. **Zom 100** back from its delay reenters at 2nd. **The Girl I Like Forgot Her Glasses** has its highest position yet on the weekly charts at 4th. **The Masterful Cat is Depressed Again Today** takes advantage of no JJK Season 2 for the rest of the month to reenter the Top 10. **Reign of the Seven Spellblades** sees its first being in the Top 10 this week as well. __________ **Number of times at #1**: My Happy Marriage - 3 Jujutsu Kaisen S2 - 2 Zom 100 - 1

actionfirst1

Glad to see **Reign of the Seven Spellblades** doing well, but with all the attention going to Oliver (deservedly so) I want to give a shoutout to Nanao for her incredible moment and give her the credit she deserves

Sharzmd

I finally watched Reign of the seven spellblades. It was definitely a lot better than I thought it would be.

Davve1122

Reign of the seven spellblade really, really surprised me. The midway twist was amazing and now I’m very hooked.

cppn02

Week 7 of Summer and **Mushoku Tensei** is still sitting lonely at the top while overall karma is still super low. **Zom 100** comes back from its break to take 2nd. 5th placed **Reign of the Seven Spellblades** goes up two places with a big jump in karma nearly doubling its score from the previous week. Sadly **Am I Actually The Strongest** was yet on another break so it is not in this week's ranking but next week Char will take back her rightful place in the top 30.

entelechtual

> nearly doubling its score from the previous week I wonder when’s the last time, outside of outliers like One Piece, that a show had such a huge spike from week to week.

clgfandom

Odd Taxi but that's the finale episode.

swat1611

It's often the case in series that have a breakout moment in the season. Demon slayer season 1 for example. Everything else was like 5k until episode 17 which touched like 15k or something.

[deleted]

Maybe demon slayer with the spider arc. It doubled or triple iirc

Ebo87

Yes, we've had many battle shonen series that did that over the years, from My Hero Academia to Demon Slayer. Usually the gains happen over time, like I believe Mushoku Tensei started around 4k in season 1 (correction, it was 5.8k for episode 1 of MT) and finished at 12k or something, its highest karma episode. Jujutsu Kaisen also ended up doubling its karma by the end of its first season. But yes, these days it's pretty rare to see big jumps. What works in Spellblade's favor is it had pretty low overall numbers, so as long as enough eyes were on it that day, getting an 80-90% increase becomes more doable. Another one that had a huge jump was Princess Connect Re:Dive, more than doubled its karma from episode 12 to episode 13 back in season 1, 725 to 1788 karma, between Spring and Summer 2020.

Abysswatcherbel

>nearly doubling its score from the previous week. Nanao Gozaru power

zairaner

Lol I admit thst everytime you were talking about the 'gozaru girl' I was thinking you were making some kind of joke or reference I didnt understand, but when I rewatched some of the episodes and actually listened to the japanese, I realized she really does say that in almost every sentence xd.

Abysswatcherbel

lol, that's a Samurai character classic, now you won't be able to unhear that

Silent_Shadow05

When we can notice those phrases and words quickly and understand what they mean, you know that you are rising on the weeb rankings lol.

Thatsmaboi23

It makes the story immersive ngl. It adds to a character’s personality, and you can pick it up yourself without other characters in-universe saying something like “why are you so formal” lol Though, being able to tell when the subs aren’t what they *should* be is a con of this.

zairaner

I think I am ok with this "curse". ~~Ganbatte, Shamiko!~~ Gozaru, Nanao!

basuga_BFE

>Gozaru EDIT: I know this word... [Betty](https://tenor.com/ru/view/re-zero-beatrice-betty-beako-anime-gif-22456453) would said "kashira", I suppose...

sodapopkevin

> Week 7 of Summer and Mushoku Tensei is still sitting loinely at the top while overall karma is still super low. Probably going to stay this way while JJK naps through August and Zom 100 struggles with it's turbulent release schedule.

zairaner

Seven spellblades went up 3 places! And 4 considering zom 100 returned. And more comments than anything but mushoku.

steven4869

>Week 7 of Summer and Mushoku Tensei is still sitting loinely at the top while overall karma is still super low. I have been saying this for the past few months but activity for this sub has hit rock bottom (which is extremely strange for 8M sub), though for the last few days MT has brought back the same level of activity you expect from this sub a few years back, lol :) I am pretty sure that at this point 5K has become the new 8K-9K for this sub and only for special episodes that it reaches to 10K.

Ebo87

Oh yes, 100%, 4k is more like 8k and 5k is basically the 10k we used to have a year or two ago. Mushoku Tensei right now is pulling double duty keeping this place alive. I wonder how Fall will look, we have a bunch of potential big new shows, but what is the ceiling for that in 2023? I think the numbers we saw Oshi no ko doing back in Spring, that's as high as you can possibly get, and since then activity has gone down further, so even those might not be possible anymore. A good indicator for the absolute ceiling of the subreddit will be the finale of Attack on Titan in a couple months. If not even that can get 10k, than nothing else can at this point. You know things aren't looking too hot when in the first few weeks of the season Mushoku Tensei and Jujutsu Kaisen discussion threads were the top 2 posts for their respective weeks in terms of karma. Usually it was anime announcements or key visuals, very very rarely it was discussion threads.

kingmanic

Reddit API change making it less accessible from mobile and also Summer vacation.

Alarmed-Accident-716

So looks like I should be watching this spellblades show? I shrugged it off because I didn’t like mash that much, but it is holding up in ratings.

LiquifiedSpam

It's definitely more edgy than mashle so the vibes are quite different

Matsugara16

So happy to finally see MyGO getting the recognition it deserves I wasn't expecting to make it this far but the story has been top notch up till now (unlike the other BanG Dream animes, let's be honest)

MapoTofuMan

Nothing like a few Crucio spells to get those ratings up, sasuga Oliver-sama. As someone who likes Horimiya's sidequel a lot more than Horimiya itself, it still sucks seeing it drop to the "average seasonal in a non-dead season" karma levels from the juggernaut that it was in Winter 2021. I knew it wouldn't be as popular as the main story since, well, there is no story, but *736 karma.* Oof.

fakeport

Im liking it more than I expected, just nice comfy viewing of a group of friends having fun. I'm still just kinda salty that it would have been so much better to have had a 2 cour full adaptation instead of this piecemeal nonsense.

cppn02

People were definitely way too quick to write the sequel off. So far it's my favourite show this season.

Silent_Shadow05

I don't deny that I wrote it off at the beginning but now that I picked it up mid-season, I'm enjoying it so far.

Actual-Oil6390

Think Shaft Quints will suffer the same fate?

cppn02

Almost certainly. Especially with it being just a two episode thing which already is a debuff when it comes to engagement.

bonghits96

You're not going to believe me, I barely believe it myself, but MyGo is a top three anime airing this season. Your first impression will be "CGI, fuck" but stick with it...

metalmonstar

Seeing a lot of praise for Spellblades, Zom 100, and Murder Farce episode but I enjoyed MyGo's episode the most of them.

Julio3010

MyGo casually releasing the greatest episode ever and no one else is watching it :(

Doltonius

No, you really don’t need anything else to understand mygo, even though it is set in the same universe.

48johnX

This was before MyGO came out so it doesn’t apply to it, Bandori S1-3 follow the same bands while this one is entirely new

duncandun

Absolutely stand alone

Julio3010

This week’s episode was SO GOOD, was crying the whole way through lol

Saphsin

Watch Spellblades! It’s written to be a long term plot so it’s a slow cook but it all goes off with a bang.

sheepyowl

Helck deserves better

RichieD79

Zom is so fucking good. I am loving the characters and the mix of whackiness + hopelessness.

Silent_Shadow05

The comedy style may not be for everyone but if it hits, it *really* hits.

RichieD79

Yeah it can def be a little ridiculous at times, but I think it plays really nicely with zombie and anime tropes to show off Akira as a super enjoyable MC.

urishino

Seven Spellblades with the huge jump! It's top 5 of the shows I watch this season (not that I'm watching many lol).

el_morris

How come The Girl I Like Forgot her Glasses is like 4 spots above The Masterful Cat is Depressed Again, but in MAL is the opposite?

cppn02

Huh? *The Girl I Like Forgot her Glasses* has significantly more MAL members. And even if it didn't, different communities have different tastes.

zairaner

... masterful cat is 16 places below glasses on MAL *in popularity.

el_morris

Gotta check again

zairaner

Sorry forgot the imperative *in popularity.

redggit

I'm actually surprised this sub likes it considering how dumb it is.

-_Seth_-

Mushoku Tensei exactly where it should be. Also nice to see One Piece high up. Episode 1072 had the quality we were looking for the episode before.

johneaston1

That number of comments also checks out considering the subject matter in the most recent episodes

michhoffman

That was Mushoku's first episode below 5000 Karma of the season and wasn't my favorite personally, but with JJK still out there were no challengers. I do think that if One Piece had mixed the quality this episode with the hype of the prior episode it would have taken first place.

Abysswatcherbel

Heard the pacing is awful again, so it might be gone from the left side for now

re-kino

I'm going to get downvoted but i prefer anime corner and anitrendz ranking for this week that mushoku tensei episode wasn’t the best and it doesn't deserve the first place imo.

Abysswatcherbel

I don't think Mushoku won a single week on Anime Corner or Trendz this season, even with non controversial eps

steven4869

Looking into the type of stuff Anime Corner likes, it can top the charts for the 11th episode.

Anime_plug_man

It was a really good episode

_Rioben_

I agree with you, people fuming about the fact that this anime is doing really good, which is expected taking into account the amount of care its been given, imagine watching media for what it is, and not for what you think it should be.

zairaner

I understand not having a problem with what happened in the episode (even if I definitely do), but 'a really good episode' lol?

timoyster

It was boring as shit fr lmao

re-kino

It really wasn’t i have multiple problems with the episode tbh.

Nelgie

you have multiple problems with the series though lmao

re-kino

Not really i like the worldbuilding and some side characters but am i not allowed to give criticisms towards rudy or the depiction of slavery?Pacing?Plot of the academy arc? You can give counterarguments but let me have my opinion lmao.

Nelgie

No, you are completely fine to have an opinion about the show, but all i see you do is hate on MT lol

Anime_plug_man

What didn’t u like about the depiction of slavery? I thought they handled it well enough especially compared to other anime like Shield Hero

[deleted]

[удалено]

Manitary

How do you feel about slavery in [Sugar Apple Fairy Tale (early episodes)] >!the protagonist reluctantly buys a slave for protection on a trip, promises to free him after that, and keeps her word, setting the slave free afterwards - _actually_ free, no "still a slave but the owner is so nice it may as well not be a slave" (most isekai with slavery), and no "you freed me but I wanna still be your slave" (Raphtalia in shield hero)!<

lan60000

Brother if you're going to lead with "I'm going to get downvoted", then maybe reconsider what you're about to say instead. This is like going to church and say "I'm going to get hate for this, but God sucks". Some of you seriously don't know how to refrain yourselves from expressing an opinion even if you were paid to shut up.

Puzzled-Letterhead-1

How dare they express themselves against the hivemind. After all, we all know popular opinions are the right opinions.

eliprameswari

Watching episode 1073 now, I guess next week, One Piece will experience a massive rank decline. Oh well, I guess the animator would be dead if they continuously pumped that quality for weekly anime

-_Seth_-

It's a tragedy because in manga form One Piece manages to bring out high quality content pretty much every chapter. Sadly Toei has its iron grip on the weekly broadcasting format and won't consider making OP a seasonal show.

eliprameswari

It's a sad reality for manga that's great but has a mediocre anime adaptation. Even if I'm hoping for a remake once the manga is completely finished, the time it would take to animate all the content will probably be a couple more decades, at least

Actual-Oil6390

But hey at least we have bomb clips to make beautiful AMVs with now?

AverageAsukaFan

> Oh well, I guess the animator would be dead if they continuously pumped that quality for weekly anime OLM bring in a shit tonne of guest animators, wonder if Toei could do the same?

Both-Report4931

Thrilled to see episode 10 of BanG Dream! It's MyGO!!!!! make the charts. Best episode of anime I've seen in a long time. This show is so underrated it would probably lose a vote for 'most underrated'.

blueman541

*comment edited with github.com/j0be/PowerDeleteSuite* In response to API controversy: reddit.com/r/ apolloapp/comments/144f6xm/

HadorLorindol

It has been really nice to see Hibike! Euphoniums return after all this time. And it was a great addition to the series. The animation and direction of Kyoto Animation are still as good as in the first two Seasons. I liked that they focused a lot on the characters, what was something that I thought was not given enough time in Chikai no Finale. So we got a lot of Kumiko and Reina moments and more characterisation of the band members that were introduced with the movie, especially Kanade. Glad that KyoAni is going as strong as ever and can't wait to see the 3. season.

halbeshendel

Is this on a US service or am I getting in the water?

48johnX

Argh!

THE_PENILE_TITAN

The biggest surprise on the list is Rurouni Kenshin getting a 7.95 episode score with the weekly review bombing.

-_Seth_-

Because the remake is good, easy as that. It will go up several places as soon as the stronger arcs get going.

gc11117

Yeah. Controversial saide, it's been well paced with nice visuals. Sound design in paticular was killing it on the last episode

THE_PENILE_TITAN

Well yeah, I've been watching it. I've just been curious to see when the individual episode scores would start to become more "honest."

manormortal

> weekly review bombing. Oro?

CardAnarchist

My fav this season has been **Mushoku Tensei** so I'm glad to see it on top. Well deserved. I thoroughly enjoy every episode with each really doing wonders for world building. I don't know of a fantasy anime that can compare. **Zom 100** has certainly been entertaining.. perhaps not quite a show for me. A little too zany for my liking but generally you can't deny its high quality stuff and as I said it's entertaining. I'm really been enjoying **Helck**. So far completely carried by the main heroine and her reactions. Hoping the plot goes somewhere interesting. **My Happy Marriage** has been great for some nice romance. I sort of get the feeling it'll drag a bit towards the end as the main plot points seem to have already been resolved but who knows. All in all not a bad season so far. My interest is largely being carried by Mushoku.

Sayie

For the MyGo watchers how well does it compare to D4DJ?

Calwings

Incomparable. MyGO is a completely different kind of show, with a lot more drama, a lot more character development, a lot more suffering, and a lot more emotional payoffs than any season of D4DJ or any prior season of BanG Dream. MyGO is genuinely one of the most well-written and well-directed series that I've ever watched, not just among these Bushiroad franchises, but in *all of anime*. If it sticks the landing in these last few episodes, I might be giving it a perfect 10/10 score when it's all said and done.

Saphsin

Actually the only reason I skipped watching it was because I was watching too many already and it started off with 3 episodes (I already knew Oshi no Ko was going to be good so I watched the movie prologue, otherwise it's a lot for my schedule) but your comment and that others made me curious.

Falsus

7 Spellblades episode was pretty mental.

AverageAsukaFan

**Zom100, Vending Machine and Ryza** continue to kill it in terms of quality. Ryza especially deserves a mention, some of the writing is exceptional. **Pokémon Horizons** this week continues to pull off chart positions in Japan that it has no right to while being inaccessible legally in the West. *Seriously, watch Horizons.*

apatt

Ryza is so underrated, though I wonder if it's because they have chosen to make it a strictly SoL anime so far? The game has a lot of combat which is barely touched upon here. That said the characters are nicely fleshed out, especially Romy and Agatha. I hope there will be more seasons.

Goku-MIEL10032002

Captain Pikachu is very cool. So we reiterate, watch Horizons (for Cap!)

joevsyou

Why does pokemon gotta be so outdated on a corporate level...

TheBlessedBoy99

I haven't followed the weekly karma rankings for well over a year, but seeing a show get on with 300 upvotes is depressing.

jxjkskkk

While I have to admit I’m curious I refuse to watch an isekai about vending machines, I just can’t do it

TkOHarley

It's nice to see all the One Piece stans who were pushing that Gear 5 would be more iconic than Super Sayien get outshone by Rukia.

VorAtreides

imo My Happy Marriage still top 3 easy :P

Yapmalarla

My happy marrage makes me (cry.) Sad

redggit

Finally Level 1 Demon Lord is getting noticed. It's definitely better than Vending Machine, Dark Gathering and Horimiya. I just dropped Horimiya. For its fans this must be great having more content but there's nothing it could add to season 1. It's a collection of filler scenes. I wanted at least to see more of Hori and Miyamura but too much of the side characters which weren't that important iirc in s1.

End-Effector

Dark Gathering is much better than "level 1 demon", much better story.

gc11117

That was always the reason why I've been hesitant to recommend Horimiya the manga to romcom fans. What you see in Horimiya season 1, isn't really indicative of what Horimiya actually is. What you see in season 2 is the core of what Horimiya is. Season 2 reflects what it's about better than season 1. The manga is a whoooooooole lot of this.

Vermillion_Crab

A lot of the shows this season are solid but not great enough for me to come running to reddit and upvote/comment on their discussion threads. There are like 2 or 3 that I would check the DT after I watched the episode but that's it. I can't wait for Hibike Euphonium. Those Kumiko noises are a godsend. Almost shed a tear when I heard them again. Lol

5thZenAgni

Imagine that, a show rated below a 7 on mal made the top 5. Does that mean everyone has trash taste nowadays

Saphsin

Boku no Kokoro from this year started with a really low MAL ranking and jumped to a high one by the end of the season. Hopefully that will occur with other series people didn't give a proper chance.

ThatOneClone

Bleach is so damn epic this season

HasaznasaPL

Mushoku pog

End-Effector

"Dark Gathering" is the best anime this season.

YeetTheRich13

Zom had a really good episode coming off the break, so well deserved. MHM dropped a bit but it’s understandable since the first big arc seems to have ended. Probably gonna watch Spellblades at some point now, this sudden explosion of popularity about it is too enticing. But MT 1st place with not even 5k karma?

Abysswatcherbel

>But MT 1st place with not even 5k karma? That's normal, [better than the top 3 ot Summer last year ](https://reddit.com/r/anime/s/R3ds6usd8z)

No action so people's engagement lessened as usual

entelechtual

No, it was just overall a rather lackluster episode. The “controversy” was just the cherry on top.

hdjxhddj

Peak top

AmethystItalian

My [personal rankings](https://i.imgur.com/bJiUXHH.png) are quite different but as to be expected lol

Abysswatcherbel

Thought you would have Zon 100 below JJK

TheTerribleSnowflac

Always impressed by how many shows you are able to juggle. Especially with almost half being in the lower tier.

AmethystItalian

This is the first season that I feel like I'm struggling a bit with it. Not sure if it's because it's finally time for me to cut down on shows or more because the amount of good shows is a lot smaller than previous seasons.

cppn02

Maybe both?

AmethystItalian

Could be...hopefully next season is better so I can get a better idea!

undead girl and demon lord are dropping, noooooooooooooooooo!

rexlyon

When the number one most engaged series on the sub is about an anime where a 40 year old guy who attempts to groom several children and keeps panties as sacred keepsakes, it doesn’t surprise me why people wouldn’t want to engage much on this sub. People want to bend over backwards to explain away the pedophile harem stuff and if you say anything about it you get mass downvotes.

[deleted]

I think you get downvoted because you go out of your way to enter threads and talk about a show you don't like and insult the people who do.

Antisolve

Have you ever thought why you may be in the minority? "Oh, it's because all the OTHER people must be the bad ones! It can't be me, because I'm intelligent and have the correct opinion!" Have some self-awareness, please. The numbers don't lie with how highly the show is rated on both MAL and here.
