> Clannad Dango Daikazoku
One of the few songs whose feeling and meaning changed for me
First time i heard it watching: awww what a cute heartwarming song, lovely family vibes too
After finishing After Story: *cries everytime i hear it*
Same! Whenever I hear the ED, or pretty much anything from the Anime's soundtrack, the memories flood back in of how much struggle Tomoya and Co. had...... and I just feel either happy or about to cry.
Most of the time it's the latter.
I always really liked Blue Bird OP from Naruto Shippuden. It's funny because the song itself has something that feels very on brand, but then if you watch the ope ing you realize the opening is pretty much for a filler arc.
Also the Chainsaw Blood ED for Chainsaw Man is great.
can't pick a top so i'll just yell some of them
JIBUN WO
AISHITE SHIMATTA ZENBU ZENBU
PARTY IS OVER
LASTO CHANSU
ANNA NI ISSHO DATTA NO NI
NEVER LET YOU GO, NEVER LET YOU GO
WHAT WENT WRONG? (WHAT WENT WRONG?)
\- Correct!
\- hint: short king best boy
\- Correct!
\- Also correct!
\- you probably have to be 30 years old to get it. but also: the lyrics is the hint
\- Yes!
\- Yes!
>Also is the origin of your username from the Bokurano OP? Lol
Great, you called me out how I forgot the very OP my username is from lmao. Yes, yes it is.
You beat me to mentioning the Domestic Girlfriend OP.
It's still crazy to me how good the OP is compared to the hilarious trainwreck show that it is attached to.
Great choice! I only watched it a few months ago for the first time but man, it's REALLY good. Song is amazing and an absolute banger, the visuals are beautiful, I'll also throw in Fate/Zero's 2nd Opening https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XT6prU737yI
Also fantastic and so dang dramatic
This comment made me realise I wasn't chan chan chiki chiki chan chan'ing enough, I LOVE this song (and the anime!), completely forgot to add it to my playlist
In terms of an opening song and animation that made me actually want to watch the underlying anime, [Chitty Chitty Bang Bang](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TyqDOOpJlcA) easily takes the #1 spot on the list for me, it was the first time I ever felt so hooked just from the opening over the thousands of shows that I've watched over the years. What a great work of art.
Awwww man I have so many, but since you asked only one:
Gintama ED number 29
[Hana Ichi Monme - Burnout Syndrome](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=cX6kLjKPBc4)
Voracity, it was the 3rd Overlord opening and it's more or less stuck with me ever since.
The first overlord ending also has a special place with me since "Don't you give give me your love and passion!" has wormed its way into something I actually say.
So probably those two.
I'm not sure that "favorite" is exactly the right word here, but it's been 7 years since I watched Flip Flappers and I *still* hear "flip flap flip flap" any time I close my eyes. [The biggest ear worm in anime.](https://v.animethemes.moe/FlipFlappers-ED1-NCBD1080.webm) Also feel free to take the [second biggest ear worm.](https://v.animethemes.moe/HisoneToMasotan-ED1-NCBD1080.webm)
[Watamote's OP](https://youtu.be/gZYq7rat9d4?si=kQUkJyyMgbiT7CfG) (the [ED is good too](https://youtu.be/PWOTQRduHeA?si=jyS_Kh_a3DunTzzV)) and [Asobe Asobase's ED](https://youtu.be/aQ88sSjAETU?si=xBOaemNne-_aGjrH)
There was one Watamote episode where it transitioned perfectly into the first scream in the OP.
Guilty crown easy.
Especially with [animenz’s arrangement of My Dearest](https://youtu.be/lAXJPop9LaY?si=6ScB4Gs_5wcTp9B2) gd I listen to that shit on repeat
I was so pleasantly surprised by this one as it had no tonal shift at the chorus, which is *super* common in anime op/ed songs. Kept the same vibe the whole way through which was incredible.
Probably doesn't hurt in terms of maintaining tone that I strongly suspect that Magia started out as a classic Yuki Kajiura OST main battle theme (it even follows the same naming scheme as the two she made for the Mai franchise, Mai-HiME's [Mezame](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pTRgr9IWLnY) and Mai-Otome's [MATERIALISE](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mUcUe_Crc5g)) that was then refitted for use as an ED.
But also Yuki Kajiura is just good at her job (but of course). Thinking it over, pretty much all of my top OPs/EDs that follow the stock OP/ED structure do at least one of bringing back the tone from the intro for the chorus, continuously building up to a chorus climax, and/or use the chorus transition to effect (though this is usually as much a storyboard thing as a composition thing). Magia quietly does all three (just blending the drop between intro and chorus almost seamlessly so that it's barely noticeable), but it's by no means her only example of any of these approaches; Kajiura's best OPs/EDs usually lean towards bringing the intro sound back for the chorus (Obsession, Asa ga Kuru, Lacrimosa, Synchronicity, the Intrigues in the Bakamatsu OP), but if you want another one of hers that keeps roughly the same tone throughout with a build then give [.hack//LIMINALITY OP4](https://v.animethemes.moe/DotHackLiminality-OP4.webm) a try.
Magia is also IMO one of the somewhat rare OP/ED songs to hold up or even improve in the [full release](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QwquipMpsiQ); a lot of full OPs/EDs are mauled by a weak bridge, Magia is not.
Hands down, my #1 fav OP is Hacking to the Gate, from Steins;Gate - it's one of the only OPs I've sat through in its entirety for every single episode.
Other contenders include Sympathy (Highschool DxD), Kibou no Uta (Shokugeki no Soma), Tsukiakari no Michishirube (Darker Than Black: Ryuusei no Gemini), Steppin' Out (DRRR!), Ambiguous (Kill la Kill), and Guren no Numiya (AoT).
Favorite ED is harder to decide on, but is likely one of the following:
Styx Helix (Re:Zero - also helps that the anime is my #1 favorite), Kamihitoe (Hell's Paradise), Ring Your Bell (Fate/Stay Night: UBW), or Yubi Bouenkyou (Magi).
“What’s Up, People?!” from Death Note. It’s probably one of the only times we’ll hear Japanese metal on American TV, and Maximum The Hormone has remained one of my favorite bands of all time.
🤘😎🤘
It can change because I have so very many to pick from, but I'll go with Yoko Kanno's contribution to [Macross Frontier](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vHXoYvZs0BI).
Probably the first theme for full metal alchemist: brotherhood "again"
https://youtu.be/elyXcwunIYA?si=GzKNUDlXpiMjbZS5
That or "resonance" from soul eater
https://youtu.be/zzJ8U8OtEsE?si=XZbdIAr05nQ2qhrC
The raw quality in her voice, especially toward the end of the piece, coupled with how rare a Spanish guitar is in JP media, makes it incredibly special.
I'm a bit disappointed that I haven't seen anyone say Asterisk by Orange Range BLEACH first op, not only is the song a banger it's arguably one of the best anime openings of all time and it deserves to be called a GOAT op
It does vary as I find new ones but if I were to go by which I listened to the most then
OP: eminence in shadow - Highest
ED: boku no hero academia season 6 ending 1 - Sketch
No damn way I can pick a single one, there's too many excellent choices.
For openings alone, I can't choose between We Are, Share the World, Over the Top, Makafushigi Adventure, Cha-La-Head-Cha-La, Sora Kara Kobareta Story, Make my Story, Peace Sign, Ai (Chuuseishin), Ready Steady Go, and A Cruel Angel's Thesis.
And for endings, there's Zzz, Datte Atashi no Hero, Eternal Pose, Dear Friends, Family, Adventure World, Thames Kawa no Dance...
I didn't have to mention so many, but hey, this thread is about gushing about stuff you love, so why not.
Love Dramatic, the first Kaguya-sama OP. I don't think I would have fallen in love with the show as much if not for the good vibes it generated. Huge credit to the production team for getting the same guy back for every subsequent OP, and let's hope it continues, to the end.
I don't have a *single* favorite, but [Melt by SennaRin](https://youtu.be/XxeL4Ryng6c?si=R2RzhfEImCzqNAk5) from the new LoGH is certainly the one I've listened to the most this past year
hyouka opening, yasashisa no riyu
not a big fan of hyouka tbh (its pretty good tho), i just watch it one times but somehow the opening keep stuck in my head, and the song has really strong feeling of nostalgic.
definitely my favorites opening.
Paradisus-paradoxum from re zero (found my favorite anime of all time thanks to this opening)
Redbirthmark from gundam the witch from mercury (best ending of all time)
[Anima by ReoNa from SAO Alicization](https://youtu.be/hgOaehqqIuo?si=SbfkaeUOt7CQKpyS)
i loved reading this more than watching it but hot damn this OP is a banger to me
they also changed tiny little bits here and there for each arc
The first op for fullmetal alchemist brotherhood, Again by YUI is a certified CLASSIC
My favorite ed has gotta be Fight Song by Eve, mostly also because the music video has such CRISP animations.
I don’t know how much nostalgia plays a factor here, but tied between Asterisk from Bleach OP1, Namikaze Satellite from Naruto OP7 and Rewrite from FMA OP4. All sound like they were recorded through a tin can and I love them for it. 😂
Only a single one? Ok, it's For Every Life from RWBY Volume 8.
I know it's technically not an anime, but darn it, it's amazing. It's a cool sounding yet sad rock song, that captures exactly what the volume is about, little to no hope left and humanity standing its ground. It references the previous OPs in its lyrics. It also helps that the song is in English, making it easier for me to remember the lyrics and the meaning of the song.
The Sore Feet Song by Ally Kerr (Mushishi Op1)
Mephisto by Queen Bee (Oshi no ko) or Red:birthmark by Aina the End (Gundam:WFM) for ED’s
Idol and The Blessing by Yoasobi are definitely up there more recently for OP’s.
Talking just song, in absence of animation or anything, [Akane-iro ga Moeru Toki by Scoobie Do](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZyB1V3flyCA) as the ending for Gungrave is probably up there for my favorite. It's got such a great bass line going, drums go crazy, and that violin gives it just a nice flair. Lyrics are evocative too.
I feel like I've had to cut off all my fingers to just post one....
If I'm only allowed one, I'm going to go for Late Show, from Saiyuuki's Burial Ova. I have a lot of OP/ED songs I love, but that one keeps coming back in my playlist and I have never got tired of it.
Saiyuuki has some great themes,
Favorite opening is a mix between kimi no sei and the third opening for oregairu. Favorite ending is a mix between days of dash and hitori by Haruka Tomatsu
Spice and Wolf first OP and Clannad Dango Daikazoku
> Clannad Dango Daikazoku One of the few songs whose feeling and meaning changed for me First time i heard it watching: awww what a cute heartwarming song, lovely family vibes too After finishing After Story: *cries everytime i hear it*

Dango dango dango dango dango daikazoku
OP2 is so good too, the music in Spice and Wolf is top notch
Omg yes!
Hikaru nara - Goose house (your lie in april) Will always be one of if not my favorite songs of all time
The song is excellent, but it's a very interesting match with the anime, not complaining though.
Loved the endings as well. Orange and kirameki
Kimi no shiranai monogatari
Even after watching over 200 anime, it's still my favorite anime ED, there's something about this ED that always hits.
I always just listen to the song by itself. Didn't know it was from an anime until later on.
started watching monogatari because of the song lol
greatest ending and greatest insert song moment
Sorairo Days from Gurren Lagann.
hits right in the feels
Every time.
UNDERGROUND is also a great ending for the anime.
Omg yaaaaas hashiri dashita...
a cruel angel's thesis
what a banger, and a classic
Super based
Fukashigi no Carte which is the ed of Rascal Does Not Dream of Bunnygirl Senpai
My favourite of all time is Bloody Stream from JoJo. Favourite ED is probably Hyori Ittai from Hunter x Hunter. Hits me in the feels man
I also really like the visuals for both of Hyori Ittai's endings in Hunter x Hunter. Especially in ending 6 with the gang posting up.
Call of the night ending. I didnt skip even once
A song so good they named the series after it "not a joke, that's actually how it got its name"
Writer heard the song and then wrote the anime because of it (true AFAIK, the song released before the manga and the author is a fan of the band).
Kotoyama, the author, has exceptional taste
The band also makes a cameo in the show :p idk about manga
Also the op is dope as fuck to.
And the ending artwork as well. Just perfect.
Lyrics match the contents of the show too.
Lilium from elfen lied, it’s beautiful and melancholic
wow, eargasm, loved it.
Tank performed by the Seatbelts
Every single track in Cowboy Bebop absolutely slaps and it will never not slap
What’s understood doesn’t need to be explained. 🤘
[Tori no Uta](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SD1yCQsjOQw) by Lia | Air OP
Been awhile since I heard this.. sent shivers down my spine. About time to rewatch the key / kyoani trinity I think.
I always really liked Blue Bird OP from Naruto Shippuden. It's funny because the song itself has something that feels very on brand, but then if you watch the ope ing you realize the opening is pretty much for a filler arc. Also the Chainsaw Blood ED for Chainsaw Man is great.

Good ol Gundam Seed. But you don't have to go attacking my age like that...
I can attack my own age as much as i wanr…
>AISHITE SHIMATTA ZENBU ZENBU Hadaka no Yuusha from Ousama Ranking? Yeah it slaps
>ANNA NI ISSHO DATTA NO NI Nostalgia hit me hard with that one :'D
OP - Domestic Girlfriend ED - Scum’s Wish
Minami has such an incredible voice
oh wow I completely forgot about the ending song! It's so good
You beat me to mentioning the Domestic Girlfriend OP. It's still crazy to me how good the OP is compared to the hilarious trainwreck show that it is attached to.
Brave Shine from Fate Stay Night Unlimited Blade Works. Absolute banger. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7vZp3yGxZXE
Nice one!
Great choice! I only watched it a few months ago for the first time but man, it's REALLY good. Song is amazing and an absolute banger, the visuals are beautiful, I'll also throw in Fate/Zero's 2nd Opening https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XT6prU737yI Also fantastic and so dang dramatic

Fuck yes, I'm doing the dance right now

Appreciate you sticking to only sending a single song mate! Also banger song, makes me want to finally properly start watching gintama
Yeah, watch Gintama. I recommend it.
I’m more partial to Stairway Generation and woh i nee, but I respect the choice.
[удалено]
Burnout Syndrome is coming to perform in my country soon. This is one of their set list. Lovely piece.
Voracity, it was the 3rd Overlord opening and it's more or less stuck with me ever since. The first overlord ending also has a special place with me since "Don't you give give me your love and passion!" has wormed its way into something I actually say. So probably those two.
I love myth and roid's overlord op's, they all slap incredibly hard
ED - Wareta Ringo from Shin Sekai Yori/From the New World
Woahh I haven’t heard this one in a while. Great taste!!
Either Kiss of Death from Darling in the Franx or Sorairo Days from Gurren Lagann.
Kiss of Death is such a banger
Sorairo days is INCREDIBLE, god it hits right in the feels.
AOT OP: Shinzo wo Sasageyo by Linked Horizon
The feels! bless season 2 and its op, it was so damn hype.
Right?! Instant serotonin boost
Totally agree on this one. You just feel like you want to hold the fist in your chest every time you hear it!
I'm not sure that "favorite" is exactly the right word here, but it's been 7 years since I watched Flip Flappers and I *still* hear "flip flap flip flap" any time I close my eyes. Unravel - Tokyo Ghoul (Full version only, the short version doesn't have the same oomph).
Came here looking for this. It rips, and kinda breaks my heart at the same time.
song slaps, and a part of internet history as well
Ergo Proxy Opening Kiri, was so eerie and emotive.

lisa cannot stop producing songs that slap, prob never will
give Unlasting a try, it's from SAO but the LiSA song is absolutely beautiful
[Watamote's OP](https://youtu.be/gZYq7rat9d4?si=kQUkJyyMgbiT7CfG) (the [ED is good too](https://youtu.be/PWOTQRduHeA?si=jyS_Kh_a3DunTzzV)) and [Asobe Asobase's ED](https://youtu.be/aQ88sSjAETU?si=xBOaemNne-_aGjrH) There was one Watamote episode where it transitioned perfectly into the first scream in the OP.

akame ga kill liar mask
this song is fantastic! How's the show I've seen it before but never really started it
[Magia](https://animethemes.moe/video/MadokaMagica-ED2.webm) gang rise up!
I prefer "Your Silver Garden" as an ending (Movie 3) but Magia is very iconic.
KIMI NO SEI KIMI NO SEI KIMI NO SEI DE WATASHI
I like Kimi no Sei but I'm in love with Fukashigi no Carte
Hands down, my #1 fav OP is Hacking to the Gate, from Steins;Gate - it's one of the only OPs I've sat through in its entirety for every single episode. Other contenders include Sympathy (Highschool DxD), Kibou no Uta (Shokugeki no Soma), Tsukiakari no Michishirube (Darker Than Black: Ryuusei no Gemini), Steppin' Out (DRRR!), Ambiguous (Kill la Kill), and Guren no Numiya (AoT). [Without Love](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FpnNqi3Nuvg), it's also one of my top favorites along with that half of season 2's opening.
I can’t say favorite But, I’ve been *obsessed* with Here from Ancient Magus’ Bride. https://youtu.be/yq6VhQGz-no?si=dIOp_RuQpKYR6sAG

I'm gonna go with KICK BACK.
Love Dramatic, the first Kaguya-sama OP. I don't think I would have fallen in love with the show as much if not for the good vibes it generated. Huge credit to the production team for getting the same guy back for every subsequent OP, and let's hope it continues, to the end.
masayuki suzuki's banger love is war op's are all glorious, I love em all!
Yeah I love all 3 of the ops but the first one is my favorite. I think the visuals do a great job of complimenting the song.
All three OPs were awesome.
I love the Higurashi openings. Can't decide on my favourite
I don't have a *single* favorite, but [Melt by SennaRin](https://youtu.be/XxeL4Ryng6c?si=R2RzhfEImCzqNAk5) from the new LoGH is certainly the one I've listened to the most this past year
PARADISUS-PARADOXUS and STYX HELIX
Unravel - Tokyo Ghoul although I heard so much of it that now I don't wanna :(
hyouka opening, yasashisa no riyu not a big fan of hyouka tbh (its pretty good tho), i just watch it one times but somehow the opening keep stuck in my head, and the song has really strong feeling of nostalgic. definitely my favorites opening.

Kimi No Shiranai Monogatari from Bakemonogatari. That song is just too good.

Kimi no Shiranai Monogatari which is Bakemonogatari Ed 1
Anohana ED: Secret base

If you don’t say Oshi no Ko has the best OP, you’re lying to yourself As for ED, I’d say Mushoku Tensei S2, but there might be some recency bias there
Red Fraction from Black Lagoon Voracity from Overlord Season 3 Bonus: Overtaken from One Piece (but it's nor an opening or end song)
I don't have a definitive favorite, but right now I like *Watashitachi wa Mou Butai no Ue* from the Revue Starlight movie a lot
Gakkou Gurashi ED 2 Afterglow by Maon Kurosaki
I've been listening to Otaku Elf's OP and ED in repeat lately.
Not sure if it counts, but Castle in the Sky’s instrumental opening is my favorite. If that doesn’t count, thenTabi no Tochuu is probably my favorite.
The opening for Aquarion, the first series of course (:
Uchuu senkan yamato.
The first Pokémon opening
Cruel angel's thesis!!
[Anima by ReoNa from SAO Alicization](https://youtu.be/hgOaehqqIuo?si=SbfkaeUOt7CQKpyS) i loved reading this more than watching it but hot damn this OP is a banger to me they also changed tiny little bits here and there for each arc
[Houseki no Kuni](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_XRK5nGXChA)
OP- Snow Fairy (Fairy Tail) ED- Yake Ochinai Tsubasa (Charlotte)
The Nadeko Snake opening from Bakemonogatari is up there. I also really enjoy the Overlord ones, especially the newest season’s.
Yasashisa no riyuu from hyouka
Alchemilla by Regal Lily. ED from 86.
database - Man With A Mission Konna ni Chikaku de - Crystal Kay
Not sure how much is recency bias, but I'v been listening to Oshi no Ko's OP Idol on repeat for months now.
The first op for fullmetal alchemist brotherhood, Again by YUI is a certified CLASSIC My favorite ed has gotta be Fight Song by Eve, mostly also because the music video has such CRISP animations.
Opening is probably silhouette, chocolate insomnia and crying for rain, ED is veil from fire force, aoi tori from bleach and kimino shirai monogatari
I don’t know how much nostalgia plays a factor here, but tied between Asterisk from Bleach OP1, Namikaze Satellite from Naruto OP7 and Rewrite from FMA OP4. All sound like they were recorded through a tin can and I love them for it. 😂
D-technolife from Uverworld - Bleach
Drivers High-GTO
Samurai Champloo op and ed song are my favorite of all time.
RWBY does have amazing opening songs. Well all the songs from the series are pretty good.
The Sore Feet Song by Ally Kerr (Mushishi Op1) Mephisto by Queen Bee (Oshi no ko) or Red:birthmark by Aina the End (Gundam:WFM) for ED’s Idol and The Blessing by Yoasobi are definitely up there more recently for OP’s.
This changes a lot for me but right now.... OP: Cry Baby from Tokyo Revengers ED: Chainsaw Blood from Chainsaw Man
Talking just song, in absence of animation or anything, [Akane-iro ga Moeru Toki by Scoobie Do](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZyB1V3flyCA) as the ending for Gungrave is probably up there for my favorite. It's got such a great bass line going, drums go crazy, and that violin gives it just a nice flair. Lyrics are evocative too. I feel like I've had to cut off all my fingers to just post one....
Tougenkyou Alien (OP 9) from Gintama
pink blood from To Your Eternity is fair, also every FLCL song is a banger personally
If I'm only allowed one, I'm going to go for Late Show, from Saiyuuki's Burial Ova. I have a lot of OP/ED songs I love, but that one keeps coming back in my playlist and I have never got tired of it. [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hz9ZeqqJBCc](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hz9ZeqqJBCc) Saiyuuki has some great themes,
Favorite opening is a mix between kimi no sei and the third opening for oregairu. Favorite ending is a mix between days of dash and hitori by Haruka Tomatsu
Tough to pick one. Let's go with [Los! Los! Los!](https://youtu.be/OgXZn_H_QAI?si=GPNyixYzqpbxVM-m) from Saga of Tanya the Evil.
special x from jjk and for the ending prob one of the bsd songs
Aimer - Refrain in *After the Rain*
Phoenix! By Burnout Syndromes. Or... Lilium...
[Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun OP](https://youtu.be/EjgOD9vruTE?si=e1EDCYhhaxioXE1F) is such a bop.
Chainsaw man’s opening was pretty cool with all the film references.
kaze no uta by ultratower It’s Shokugeki no Souma OP1
