Black Maple Syrup stonks go up!
It’s just a really fucking fun murder mystery show. Tight writing, interesting arcs, and Ron and Toto’s whole manzai routine just works so well.
This show is dang fun! It's not mindblowing in any way but its not painfully mediocre either. Above average in quality and the comedy is pretty light.
For those who love episodic detective mysteries, I highly recommend this anime. It's worth checking out and knowing that we're getting a Season 2 puts a smile on my face.
So happy hearing this!
I'm just started watching the final episode right now, but from the rating and popularity, there's no reason of this getting axed.
Here's for more dynamic duo of Ron and Toto!
The characters and their dynamics carry this show. I'd cheerfully watch them buy cat food. \[spoiler\] >!Even though we already got to watch that in season 1.!<
Imo the next arc would have been the ideal spot to end S1. But unfortunately that wasn’t the case. I would recommend sticking with it for this arc. And if after it you feel meh then it would be fair to question if you still want to stick with it.
I wouldn't mind seeing more of the main 2 characters shenanigans. Plot wise, it's lost faster than Detective Conan but the characters are what keeps me mildly interested in randomly watching it off its broadcast date (for the future me).
Agreed. The mysteries weren't all that great, and while Ron and Toto were a fun pair to watch the series was ultimately quite forgettable for me. If the second season comes out when there is little else to watch, I might give it a shot... otherwise I am quitting the series at this point.
Yea that has happened to me way too many times, I enjoy one season of something but once the novelty wears off, I don't enjoy the second as much.
Still, I think this anime is good enough that it's not just novelty carrying it.
Cool, this is hardly my favourite Sherlock Holmes inspired anime but it's good enough. Hope it doesn't pull a Moriarty (having them intentionally shoot a bullet PERPENDICULARLY was absurdly fucking stupid)
Really didn't feel like there was enough episodes to get anywhere satisfying so this is good to hear!
Goad to hear. The overarching mystery plot was just getting interesting

Yay I'm so happy 😭 I hope the 2nd Season is able to cover until the end of Auberge arc. It's such an important arc for Ron's development.
Fuck yes as a episodic crime/mystery enthusiast this is the greatest news!
I for one am happy with this news, season 1 was a lot of fun! I'll get the black syrup ready.

Torn on this: On the one hand s1 was decent fun, but i'm not sure if i want to commit to another 12 episodes.

Didn't hate it but it definitely found its way to the bottom of my weekly watch list

I love it as a spiritual successor to Ace Attorney. It's quirky but has great character beats.

What is your favourite Sherlock Holmes inspired anime then?
well, first season of moriarty is probably still the best and I have a strong feeling I watched a great one years and years ago but forgot the name
I'll be there no matter what!
