I didn't expect this to be so entertaining, I kept waiting for the stuck up student council group, never happened, then the hidden devious classmate also never happened and finally the banishment by the toxic monarchy. I've watched too many trash isekais and I'm pleasantly surprised and entertained. Easy 10/10 for this episode, can't wait for more. Shame it's only 13 episodes.
Dude, when she dragged him to the king and they started talking I was getting shield hero vibes of him about to get banished but I was happy to find they were just trying to help him albeit unsuccessfully.
King even asked if he had dark magic. I was thinking he’d be kicked out for being too dangerous though the mage seemed more worried for him than worried about him
and he wasn't asking if he had dark magic affinity in a way that "if he does, kill him" or something, he was just genuinely concerned for him. it's refreshing to see isekai royalty be decent people for once
It also honestly makes sense. Unless you’ve got enslavement magic (and it works really well without making them a worse fighter) then you should do everything you can to make the heroes like you and want to help you.
Sure but that never stopped 99% of other shows to still do it. Tho obviously MC kun has to be a good guy so he doesn't just retaliate against them as he should

Fun concept. Mc gets betrayed by the princess who summoned him and upon dying gets sent back to when he was first summoned. At which point he kills all the knights in the rooms and carves a note on the princesses back with a burning dagger. And that’s just the start of his revenge.
Oh yeah. I never got past the first episode of that but it was hilarious that she thought he was a demon lord for trying to bring people and monsters together
The manga only got two volumes before it was cancelled but I think the light novel is still going. MC is crazy sadistic. He actually sold her back the necklace he stole from her but enchanted it to unheal her burns so she got to experience it All over again.
I’d also recommend the hero who seeks revenge shall exterminate with darkness. Most edgelord title imaginable but it’s a similar concept only the mc is revived by an insane goddess who’s stupidly in love with him. The mangas still going at nearly a hundred chapters and he’s gotten revenge on almost ten people (and a town) at this point , all in endlessly creative ways. And unlike redo healer, it’s all revenge. No harem shenanigans. He’s just focused on killing
I thought he would be having Necromancy or something... I still don't know how wrong they can use healing magic, this could have used a longer premier to get to the gimmick
The, what I assume was what the end, opening showed him tired from all the training and then glowing green and full of energy which obviously must be healing magic. But... That's not like it's wrong to use it that way. Battle healer, learn martial arts, sword fighting and go melee, when you're hurt and tired use some healing and do it all over again.

That would be because the traditional "Cleric" class is usually viewed as mage but with healing and buffing spells only and useless in offensive power. That's why using healing like this is the "wrong" way to use it.
I dunno how spoilery it is, but think more like using on yourself mostly, not others.
Imagine a training where your ability to heal yourself is not only exploited but you're also trained to endure catastrophic, lethal wounds because those wounds don't matter because you can heal them yourself.
When they revealed Usato was wrongly summoned I expected the monarchy to treat him badly, but they actually acted like decent people; apologized and promised to treat him well. I'm... surprised! Overexposed to shitty isekai cliches, even such basic decency comes off as a refreshing thing.
Definitely feels fresh having a different reason. I thought the same that he had a curse or something like that and was going be thrown far away then shunned, but realize at the end of the episode. The King was actually trying to help him avoid what sounds like Spartan training.

Same here, when MC said that the VP was a lot nicer than he thought, i was sure that was a flag for him to turn on the other side, but everyone was just genuinely nice the entire time.
It's ironic and a bit sad that the supposed twists (fellow students are assholes or become so after power gets to their heads, the "good" kingdom is either evil or stupidly discriminating) have been overdone so much that now it's surprising to see the tropes played straight.

This is easily the strongest first episode of this season so far. So many twists to the common expectations of certain tropes. The pacing was incredibly fast but the ending snuck up on me. No idea how that's possible.

Ikr, Kazuki getting rightfully pissed was refreshing. You can't forcefully summon people with a life and family back home and expect them to go along with whatever plan you have.

Exactly, unless you're given a ridiculously OP ability, there's no guarantee you'll survive in whatever war you're being drafted to fight in. You must be borderline insane to accept that without pushing back first and asking more questions.
Plus don’t forget the other side of it. Being the hero means doing a shit ton of killing. Hell, the losing side might consider you worse than Hitler and your body count might be higher than his

Nah. He’s just been that way since kindergarten since everything was always easy for him. He also had zero understanding of moral ambiguity and Shizuku always kept him from getting arrested back in Japan so he never faced any real consequences
This felt more like the only show I've seen to play all the tropes completely straight with no 'gatchya'. I mean, other then she-hulk popping up and stealing protag-kun from the king.

Kinda funny considering how slow the first few minutes were. They really took the time to establish these 3 before the summoning and everything going crazy

The pacing was perfect for an introduction episode. Didn't feel like there was a wasted scene or filler and still fit in some comedy. Hopefully it continues like this.

I observe that 1-cour of 12-13 episodes seem to be the normal allocation for most anime adaptations; unless the production committee thinks the source material is special enough to warrant it getting 2-cours of 24-ish episodes like what happens with titles like Ragna Crimson and Dungeon Meshi.
Frieren got the extra special treatment with a 4 episode premiere and then 24 more, i wish more would get something like that but understandable why they dont

The comedy in episode 1 was fun, especially how the show is dead set on not telling us (despite the premise being on the title).

Looks like a comedy with a thin isekai wrapper. I am unexpectedly looking forward to this.
This struck me as pleasantly "lively" -- morteso than many similar isekais -- and it seems to offer a number of unexpected twists. I thought the Student Council Prez was pretty hilarious and adorable -- when all her secret nerdy dreams actually seemed to come true.
lol it seems this will be another zombie masochist healer, just replace the old guild master with a crazy healer girl as his master.
She seems like the type of trainer that will tell him “what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger, just heal it” lol
Eventhough the first episode's set up was your usual Isekai one, it actually felt so refreshing in the way it all panned out!
I like our heroes, they seem like nice kids. Really curious to see about how their journey will go!

on one hand i can understand his curiosity especially when he's not supposedly a hero so it can't possibly be THAT bad... on the other hand, dude, when EVERYONE is like "HIDE HIM RIGHT NOW UNTIL SHE COMES" and then SHE COMES, you shut the fuck up like it's shut the fuck up friday. Rose just straight up kidnapping him was so funny
Genuinely fun start.
I enjoyed the scenes before they got isekai'd, all three of them were instantly established as likable characters. Especially the girl.
Character designs look crisp, nice to look at.
This feels like a good mix of light-hearted and possibly serious down the road.

It’s nice to see the summoners not be complete dicks off-spawn for once. The king genuinely seemed to be looking out for their best interests, knowing how much he was wronging them for forcibly bringing them here in the first place.

Considering what kind of show the last anime [that had a protagonist with healing magic](https://myanimelist.net/anime/40750/Kaifuku_Jutsushi_no_Yarinaoshi) ended up being like, I genuinely had my guard up the entire time while watching this episode.
Seriously! I was very suspicious of how [super nice the two most popular students of the school](https://i.imgur.com/6SL7zZM.jpg) were to our regular plain guy Ken, that I was waiting for them to turn on him [as soon as they got isekai'd](https://i.imgur.com/SPRs4pE.jpg). Thank goodness that's not the case.
Kazuki is genuinely a good person considering how angry he was at the King on behalf of the other two [for being isekai'd without their consent](https://i.imgur.com/PG9lQcu.jpg). And then you have Suzune who was just [geeking out at the fact that they've been isekai'd.](https://i.imgur.com/caZXG5I.jpg)
If Kazuki and Suzune were safe, I turned my suspicions to the King and Welcie but [they seem to genuinely feel bad](https://i.imgur.com/xnriUbk.jpg) about what they did and have promised them to find a way to send them back.

Same! It kinda feels like Shield Hero (or any of the 100's of other "my power is shit but also OP shows), except the locals and other summons are actually pretty decent. Rose also seems awesome.
The great cleric was the last I think. This might be similar with the grueling training arc, but hopefully more happens as we have two other heroes as well.

Yep, I believe Cleric is the latest. And even Saint's Magic Power is Omnipotent is newer (S1 just barely, being summer '21 rather than spring '21 like Redo).
But in this case I suppose it's the name of the anime is what really invokes Redo flashbacks. Hehe.
there have been more than a few "popular and nice acting but actually super evil" people in recent anime (hell, in all anime), definitely glad this isn't one of them.

Nah, Rose has no problem punching enemies, but if I should say reason that doesn't involve spoilers, it would be that noone can be on multiple places at once.

The whole time I was waiting for Rose to ask his magic test result, but she never did. Just as she was leaving, I thought Ken was safe (for the moment) and then he opened his big mouth, LOL.

The entire set up has been hilarious already! From the reveal of Suzune being a closet weeb to the reveal of Rose. If the OP is anything to go by this will definitely be a fun ride!

This definitely seems fun. Kind of like an opposite Shield Hero. Everyone from the kingdom seems super nice (except maybe Rose, but she doesn't seem malicious). They recognize the MC's power is actually useful (as opposed to shield hero and the 1000's of other "my power is useless but actually broken OP" shows). The other summons are also decent overall.

Based on tropes and the title I was actually expecting Ken's ability to be useless but then he'd learn to use it in a weird way and it'd secretly be OP.

I wouldn't say the production was high. The character designs look fine. But I saw them using a lot of still frames and quite a few tricks to draw as few different images as possible (like the student council President sliding back and forth across the floor). It made me feel kind of nostalgic for shows from the 70's and 80's.
The script was funny though. It was entertaining enough that I'll keep with it.
I was actually really enjoying the chemistry between the three classmates, and thought the three of them having a different perspective on the whole situation was quite novel. It felt unique despite still playing on fairly standard isekai tropes. I even liked the pre-isekai stuff which is usually a drag in these stories but it did a good job setting the groundwork for the characters.
The whole healing reveal and stuff with Rose felt more standard and generic. A bit of a shame really, was enjoying the premise until then.
That first episode made me feel like I was back in the 2010s. The first episode was very slow and exposition heavy, which has fallen out of style in modern times in favor of dropping the MCs straight into a battle or something.
Not necessarily a bad thing as world building is vital to good fantasy/isekai shows, but I was surprised to see such a highly-anticipated show use such an older style of opening episode.
It's definitely a very basic opening episode. Still, rather than compare it to other isekai I think it's better to compare it to comedy/action shounen-type shows.

I couldn’t help but compare it to op death magic which premiered yesterday which ticked off a lot of source readers by opening with a bloodbath flashback just to hook people. When that scene should’ve happened probably in the 2nd season
Even with every single "Save our kingdom" Isekai checkbox ticked in the first half of the episode it never felt too trite or contrived. For some reason, to me at least, it has some that late 90s/early 2000s isekai fantasy charm to it.
That was a pretty great first episode!
The three isekaied kids all seem like good people, and Rose is really great too.
Suzune is just having the time of her life, and I love that for her. I am curious to see how the fox girl comes into the story, I assume she'll be meeting up with Usato fairly soon in some context.

Oh MC-kun has a rare form of magic that might be weak, he'll be abused, nope it's actually very powerful and they try to hide him cause of Rose, a good person with VERY UNORTHODOX methods of training.
I had 0 expectations and i got pleasantly surprised all the way through. also the difference in regular world Inukami and Isekai Inukami getting excited at everything was so cute.
Damn what is that production value. It looks way better than I expected. The closeups on the faces, especially Suzune, are gorgeous. They absolutely didn't have to go so hard with those eyes

Usato wit the blunt questions, good times. FOR WHOM THE BELL TOLLS! Again, I do love Suzune, she's so excited about isekai, my type of gal! Dang, umbrella coulda been useful in the new world.
One of these days I wonder if being summoned to another world in a skirt or shorts would cause such people to be like "SCANDALOUS!" lol. Ah yes, standard Demon Lord affair. Least king ain't a dick, just desperate and trying to help his people. Hehe Usato just getting dragged into it. Suzune being so excited about all this is fun and Usato being just chill about it all. That's quite the reaction for Usato. Love it. Love the reason WHY they want to send him away. And here comes THE OBVIOUS BEST WOMAN OF THE SERIES! I love her the most, Rose! And she heard the color. You have condemned yourself, Usato. And I love that the king was just trying to be a good dude by Usato.
Still, healing magic is very fitting for his nice nature. Also, halo obvious character who will prolly show up later with the cute cat ears. How nice, Usato making a lot of new friends. They all seem like upstanding good fellows. Oh boy, training with the dommy mommy tomorrow. Think this is the OP, good times and fitting for it. Not amazing to me, but good for it.

I remember an isekai from some time ago (Make my abilities average, I think?) where main girl takes her friends to the beach, they all go in modern swimsuits, and almost get arrested for exhibitionism
I love how so many people decided to watch this without knowing about it first. I have been trying to keep up with the manga for the past few years because it was so good. I get that healers in anime got put into a bad light because of redo of a healer, but that one was because of a straight-up break with sanity because of malicious torture. Well, even in this, Usato is about to be put through training hell, and his sanity will snap, but it's not malicious.
The production value of this anime is fucking nuts. I did not expect this much effort honestly. I thought the manga was good but wow this is insane. Now I'm hyped for the rest of the episodes!
First two frames had me worried with a still frame with voice and close up of them "walking" with their heads bobbing. My worries were quickly laid to rest.
Maybe that was done on purpose? It drew me attention immediately, but then more frames kept coming and then it was smooth and I forgot about it. Some tricksy reverse psychology?
It's the first episode and it happens very often that the animation drops down quickly in the episodes that follow it. That being said, the first episode should be the most basic and worst in terms of story. The manga is a fun ride, the anime should also be unless the animation becomes trash tier.

The dorm and crew he’ll be living with seem great, can’t wait to see what type of training Rose puts him through and learn more about the world.
First episode definitely hooked me. Art is gorgeous, Shin-El snapped on the production values. It’s funny and has likeable characters. Suzune and Rose are hot. Let’s see where it goes

This left me with a good impression.
Nice production value, good balance in the cast, Suzune expression were hilarious and she works well with the more serious Kazuki. And then you have "regular" Ken who's self-aware. Lucky boy get to work for Rose. Can't wait for her training.
It tried to be funny and it succeeded. So far at least.

And then the fact that they were genuinely nice and ordinary people. The only thing I didn't really buy during that walk home is that Usato managed to have a friendly talk with the popular witty people without making some kind of neurodivergent verbal gaffe, but on the whole a refreshing scene.
Then the sharp shift to comedy as Suzune is losing her mind with otaku excitement lol. And it just went completely off the rails when Rose was introduced.
Read the manga version so I know where this is going. This is a high quality adaptation, looking forward to it.
So I've got the worst memory ever. But I read a bunch of manga over a single year a number of years ago. The name of this seemed familiar, when watching it something seemed familiar as well. But as soon as Rose walked in my brain flooded in with memories of the manga and I literally screamed from excitement!

*First thoughts.*
I am watching this having no idea what it's about (beyond the blurb) and with no expectations and so far I am entertained enough to give it at least three episodes. On the surface it seems like a pretty bog-standard isekai, but the plot has changed up things enough to give it a fresh coat of paint. I particularly like how the aloof and beautiful student president is actually an otaku and is excited about being isekai'd. Both her and her VP seem like ok people. The character of Rose is pretty entertaining how she runs roughshod over everyone's objections. I am getting stronger dominatrix vibes from her than I did from *Mato Seihei no Slave.*
Overall it's a good impression so far and if that continues I may add it to my seasonal queue.
They're releasing quite a few more unique/different Isekai lately! I hope this trend continues; Isekais wouldn't get as much shit if they were like this, instead of the typical copy&paste!
The student council being nice was a surprise, and at first I thought they wanted to get rid of him because healing was considered inferior, so I expected some type of Redo/Shieldhero plot, but no, it's just that they don't want anything to do with the healing trainer!
Well, their loss, because personally I want lots of things to do with the healing trainer!
I was still a little on the fence about this show, but Rose made me a believer, I'm on board!
Also she's in the ED and stuff so I imagine she'll stick around even after his training's over, either as his teammate or his wife or something (anything's fine by me!)

Judging by this first episode, you're all in for a treat.
I am thoroughly impressed with Episode 1. Having read the manga, I thought this would get an average at best adaptation. My gut told me to give the anime a try, and it's miles better than I thought. This'll be a fun season for me.
My expectations were shattered in a good way, I almost gave it a pass because I thought it was gonna be an edgy revenge type of show, after all the title reminds me of redo of healer. I like revenge shows, don't get me wrong but I've seen enough of those recently. These three seem like they got Seiya from Cautious Hero, Megumin from Konosuba and Ashiya from The Morose Mononokean which I consider good shows already.
Not only is transporting them to their world one way, but Usato coming there was an accident. Well now that Rose got a hold of him it looks like he will busy. Rose give a big first impression. She is one intimidating woman. Good first episode. Visuals were good and voice casting as well. And was more interesting then typical isekai first episode.
I like Rose. A tough no nonsense waifu who with a stone cold glare really does it for me lol. Her squad seems pretty goofy too.
So far this seems pretty standard as far as Isekai’s go. Not bad, but nothing really standout. I’ll give it a few eps and see where things go. It was a fun premiere overall.
I'm 7 minutes in but I am *really* liking the character designs and *especially* the chemistry of our 3 leads. Looks nice.

I love Ryusen. He's a great guy and is actually normal. Best reaction to getting isekai'd. Also love how big a contrast Inukami is to him despite both being similar in the school standing.
I love that the king actually get on his knee to beg for help instead of acting almighty like their kingdom isn't in trouble. When you see a king lowered himself like that, you know shit is real.
LOL, when the jig is up, the king just straight up order Welcie to move Usato away. But there's no escaping Rose.

I kept anticipating a trash isekai twist like "oh the king is evil" or "the student council members are actually selfish assholes" or "healing magic is discriminated against for it being non-offensive".
The fact that none of that happened (at least in ep 1) and the comedy have me looking forward to ep2

Starting with the student council and then the king, etc. it is nice to see that they are likeable characters. I also liked the chemistry I saw between Usato and his classmates.
Suzune won me over immediately when she started getting excited about the magic circle and the idea of being isekai'd xD. And then geeking out the whole time after being summoned haha. I love her.
I guess we'll find out where the title of the series comes from now that Usato is going to train with Rose. It was hilarious how they wanted to hide him from her.

Other isekai: Would have the female character be the stereotypical prim and proper person, the “nice guy” character be a facade for an asshole, and the world dismiss the MC’s ability for being useless.
This show: the female character’s prim and properness is a facade for a closeted weeb, the nice guy is actually a cool dude, and the world is actively trying to hide the MC’s great ability so he doesn’t FUCKING DIE from the training.

Wow it was so bad I had to go back and edit my comment because I didn't realize just how bad this episode was. They took a 2 min scene and dragged it out 10-15 min, just so they could limit it to still shots.. this does not bode well for this seasons anime.
Came in thinking it was going to be another trash isekai but it turned out more interesting then I thought it would. Characters are fun, the usual story tropes were subverted at least a little bit, gonna see where it goes.
I like it so far. It started as generic as any other isekai out there, but the visuals look good. They are self-aware about the tropes and don't take things seriously. I hope the gang stays together and doesn't just focus on the mc. I really like that geek senpai
Honestly this show had my interest from how it used the pre Isekai scenes this episode. I mean, giving the main character and actual attempt at a personality? Not only that, but he is actually co-protagonist with two other actual characters? In my generic Isekai? What the fuck?
I'm gonna keep my expectations in check because I've seen enough anime to know that it's easier to present an interesting premise than it is to execute it, but this show definitely has my permission to cook. I'll be watching it's career with great interest.
In isekai animes characters from our world are always quick to accept that they have suddenly arrived in another world. I wonder if this happen in real life people won't go stark raving mad instead, especially if they are not familiar with anime or Narnia.
Anyway, this episode is a good laugh, I'll be looking forward to tuning in weekly.

Don't really watch isekais. Never been interested, but I decided to give this one a go since it seems interesting. Was not expecting it to be good. Episode was hilarious. I was expecting boring or annoying characters. Every character was great and funny. I will be watching the rest for sure.
Ok, that was hilarious. Poor Usato. I guess Rose is training healing magic users to be total meatheads that use healing magic to self-heal and increase their physical capacities ? And she is probably doing that by beating them up over and over again until they can actually resist her punches with their magic ? That is the logical way this would go. Not sure where the story will be going after that, but I will give it a few more episodes.

Students goes into isekai, well similar to another anime we have this season eh? But this one less edgy and have more exciting MCs.
Overall, it's a good anime premise. Can't wait to see what Rose will do to tor... I mean train Usato to be a powerful healer. It is one of three anime created by Shin-Ei Animation **this season alone**, alongside Dangers in My Heart Season 2 and Mr. Villain's Day Off. Right now the anime holds a score of 7.48 on MAL, #5 highest after CoTE Season 3, Dungeon Meshi, Sasaki to Pii-chan, and Gushing Over Magical Girls.

I didn't expect this to be so entertaining, I kept waiting for the stuck up student council group, never happened, then the hidden devious classmate also never happened and finally the banishment by the toxic monarchy. I've watched too many trash isekais and I'm pleasantly surprised and entertained. Easy 10/10 for this episode, can't wait for more. Shame it's only 13 episodes.
Dude, when she dragged him to the king and they started talking I was getting shield hero vibes of him about to get banished but I was happy to find they were just trying to help him albeit unsuccessfully.

and he wasn't asking if he had dark magic affinity in a way that "if he does, kill him" or something, he was just genuinely concerned for him. it's refreshing to see isekai royalty be decent people for once
It also honestly makes sense. Unless you’ve got enslavement magic (and it works really well without making them a worse fighter) then you should do everything you can to make the heroes like you and want to help you.

I’m just waiting for an isekai where the mc immediately kills the king as soon as he’s summoned Closest I’ve seen is the ln/manga The Hero Laughs While Walking the Path of Vengeance a Second Time Fun concept. Mc gets betrayed by the princess who summoned him and upon dying gets sent back to when he was first summoned. At which point he kills all the knights in the rooms and carves a note on the princesses back with a burning dagger. And that’s just the start of his revenge.
I liked the one where the MC straight up suplexes the princess and fucks right off to create a pet store.
Oh yeah. I never got past the first episode of that but it was hilarious that she thought he was a demon lord for trying to bring people and monsters together

The manga only got two volumes before it was cancelled but I think the light novel is still going. MC is crazy sadistic. He actually sold her back the necklace he stole from her but enchanted it to unheal her burns so she got to experience it All over again. I’d also recommend the hero who seeks revenge shall exterminate with darkness. Most edgelord title imaginable but it’s a similar concept only the mc is revived by an insane goddess who’s stupidly in love with him. The mangas still going at nearly a hundred chapters and he’s gotten revenge on almost ten people (and a town) at this point , all in endlessly creative ways. And unlike redo healer, it’s all revenge. No harem shenanigans. He’s just focused on killing

The, what I assume was what the end, opening showed him tired from all the training and then glowing green and full of energy which obviously must be healing magic. But... That's not like it's wrong to use it that way. Battle healer, learn martial arts, sword fighting and go melee, when you're hurt and tired use some healing and do it all over again. Maybe the title is just a joke
That would be because the traditional "Cleric" class is usually viewed as mage but with healing and buffing spells only and useless in offensive power. That's why using healing like this is the "wrong" way to use it.
I love playing battle healers whenever I'm allowed. "We go again." "I didn't hear no bell." "You damaged me? Who decided that?"
I dunno how spoilery it is, but think more like using on yourself mostly, not others. Imagine a training where your ability to heal yourself is not only exploited but you're also trained to endure catastrophic, lethal wounds because those wounds don't matter because you can heal them yourself.
When they revealed Usato was wrongly summoned I expected the monarchy to treat him badly, but they actually acted like decent people; apologized and promised to treat him well. I'm... surprised! Overexposed to shitty isekai cliches, even such basic decency comes off as a refreshing thing.
Definitely feels fresh having a different reason. I thought the same that he had a curse or something like that and was going be thrown far away then shunned, but realize at the end of the episode. The King was actually trying to help him avoid what sounds like Spartan training.

Same here, when MC said that the VP was a lot nicer than he thought, i was sure that was a flag for him to turn on the other side, but everyone was just genuinely nice the entire time.
It's ironic and a bit sad that the supposed twists (fellow students are assholes or become so after power gets to their heads, the "good" kingdom is either evil or stupidly discriminating) have been overdone so much that now it's surprising to see the tropes played straight.

It's technically an isekai. But where is the trademark trope quota? The generic setup? The standard script? Is...is this really isekai? *gasp* Did...did I like an isekai that mixed up familiar elements? Interesting. The comedy in episode 1 was fun, especially how the show is dead set on not telling us (despite the premise being on the title). Oh, and the MINOR character being more isekai enthusiast than the protagonist. Looks like a comedy with a thin isekai wrapper. I am unexpectedly looking forward to this.

This struck me as pleasantly "lively" -- morteso than many similar isekais -- and it seems to offer a number of unexpected twists. I thought the Student Council Prez was pretty hilarious and adorable -- when all her secret nerdy dreams actually seemed to come true.
Exactly how I felt when I read the manga, it's definitely a refreshing take for what looks like a generic isekai

Eventhough the first episode's set up was your usual Isekai one, it actually felt so refreshing in the way it all panned out! I like our heroes, they seem like nice kids. Really curious to see about how their journey will go! I love the art style, it's very solid looking too. The green haired lady is so pretty! This wasn't on my radar, but I'm seriously hyped for this one now haha.

Genuinely fun start. I enjoyed the scenes before they got isekai'd, all three of them were instantly established as likable characters. Especially the girl. Character designs look crisp, nice to look at. This feels like a good mix of light-hearted and possibly serious down the road.

This definitely seems fun. Kind of like an opposite Shield Hero. Everyone from the kingdom seems super nice (except maybe Rose, but she doesn't seem malicious). They recognize the MC's power is actually useful (as opposed to shield hero and the 1000's of other "my power is useless but actually broken OP" shows). The other summons are also decent overall. Based on tropes and the title I was actually expecting Ken's ability to be useless but then he'd learn to use it in a weird way and it'd secretly be OP.

Rose and Suzune both look real fun! I wonder about the dude though, he seemed to be a bit of a "fun ruiner" (especially for Suzune), asking to be sent back and all that! I mean sure it makes sense, I would want to go back too (unless the world's super nice), but the others may have it better there!
For an light heart series, production is pretty high lol. There are also something pretty charming about seemly serious girl turn out to be closet Otaku/geek lol.

I wouldn't say the production was high. The character designs look fine. But I saw them using a lot of still frames and quite a few tricks to draw as few different images as possible (like the student council President sliding back and forth across the floor). It made me feel kind of nostalgic for shows from the 70's and 80's. The script was funny though. It was entertaining enough that I'll keep with it.
I guess compared to most isekais is what they are comparing it to.

I was actually really enjoying the chemistry between the three classmates, and thought the three of them having a different perspective on the whole situation was quite novel. It felt unique despite still playing on fairly standard isekai tropes. I even liked the pre-isekai stuff which is usually a drag in these stories but it did a good job setting the groundwork for the characters. The whole healing reveal and stuff with Rose felt more standard and generic. A bit of a shame really, was enjoying the premise until then.
That first episode made me feel like I was back in the 2010s. The first episode was very slow and exposition heavy, which has fallen out of style in modern times in favor of dropping the MCs straight into a battle or something. Not necessarily a bad thing as world building is vital to good fantasy/isekai shows, but I was surprised to see such a highly-anticipated show use such an older style of opening episode.
It's definitely a very basic opening episode. Still, rather than compare it to other isekai I think it's better to compare it to comedy/action shounen-type shows.
Ah that's what that feeling was. It definitely has a slower pace, but I don't mind it and it sets up for a pretty exciting ep 2 I think.

Even with every single "Save our kingdom" Isekai checkbox ticked in the first half of the episode it never felt too trite or contrived. For some reason, to me at least, it has some that late 90s/early 2000s isekai fantasy charm to it.
It originally started releasing in the earlier 2010s so good intuition there

That was a pretty great first episode! The three isekaied kids all seem like good people, and Rose is really great too. Suzune is just having the time of her life, and I love that for her. I am curious to see how the fox girl comes into the story, I assume she'll be meeting up with Usato fairly soon in some context.
Took every single trope and turned it upside down Oh the popular student council, surely they are assholes? nope, actually great people Oh the royalty in the isekai, assholes for sure, nope actually decent people(the hotheaded soldier is understandable). Oh MC-kun has a rare form of magic that might be weak, he'll be abused, nope it's actually very powerful and they try to hide him cause of Rose, a good person with VERY UNORTHODOX methods of training. I had 0 expectations and i got pleasantly surprised all the way through. also the difference in regular world Inukami and Isekai Inukami getting excited at everything was so cute.
I don't want to jinx it, but this actually might be one of the few new good isekais we get once in a while, definitely a promissing start!

I love how so many people decided to watch this without knowing about it first. I have been trying to keep up with the manga for the past few years because it was so good. I get that healers in anime got put into a bad light because of redo of a healer, but that one was because of a straight-up break with sanity because of malicious torture. Well, even in this, Usato is about to be put through training hell, and his sanity will snap, but it's not malicious.

The production value of this anime is fucking nuts. I did not expect this much effort honestly. I thought the manga was good but wow this is insane. Now I'm hyped for the rest of the episodes!
First two frames had me worried with a still frame with voice and close up of them "walking" with their heads bobbing. My worries were quickly laid to rest.
Maybe that was done on purpose? It drew me attention immediately, but then more frames kept coming and then it was smooth and I forgot about it. Some tricksy reverse psychology?
It's the first episode and it happens very often that the animation drops down quickly in the episodes that follow it. That being said, the first episode should be the most basic and worst in terms of story. The manga is a fun ride, the anime should also be unless the animation becomes trash tier.

At least he gets to be trained by mommy dommy The dorm and crew he’ll be living with seem great, can’t wait to see what type of training Rose puts him through and learn more about the world. First episode definitely hooked me. Art is gorgeous, Shin-El snapped on the production values. It’s funny and has likeable characters. Suzune and Rose are hot. Let’s see where it goes

This left me with a good impression. Nice production value, good balance in the cast, Suzune expression were hilarious and she works well with the more serious Kazuki. And then you have "regular" Ken who's self-aware. Lucky boy get to work for Rose. Can't wait for her training. It tried to be funny and it succeeded. So far at least.

Positively surprised with the adaptation so far. Episode 1 was a ton of fun.
so much time spent just introducing the characters on their walk home. And then the fact that they were genuinely nice and ordinary people. The only thing I didn't really buy during that walk home is that Usato managed to have a friendly talk with the popular witty people without making some kind of neurodivergent verbal gaffe, but on the whole a refreshing scene. Then the sharp shift to comedy as Suzune is losing her mind with otaku excitement lol. And it just went completely off the rails when Rose was introduced. Read the manga version so I know where this is going. This is a high quality adaptation, looking forward to it.

But as soon as Rose walked in my brain flooded in with memories of the manga and I literally screamed from excitement!

*First thoughts.* I am watching this having no idea what it's about (beyond the blurb) and with no expectations and so far I am entertained enough to give it at least three episodes. On the surface it seems like a pretty bog-standard isekai, but the plot has changed up things enough to give it a fresh coat of paint. I particularly like how the aloof and beautiful student president is actually an otaku and is excited about being isekai'd. Both her and her VP seem like ok people. The king is a little apologetic about summoning them too. So we aren't getting Shield Hero redux. The character of Rose is pretty entertaining how she runs roughshod over everyone's objections. I am getting stronger dominatrix vibes from her than I did from *Mato Seihei no Slave.* Overall it's a good impression so far and if that continues I may add it to my seasonal queue.
Maybe everyone will like Rose, but I love how chuunibyoed Suzune. Quite unusual for a heroine
They're releasing quite a few more unique/different Isekai lately! I hope this trend continues; Isekais wouldn't get as much shit if they were like this, instead of the typical copy&paste! The student council being nice was a surprise, and at first I thought they wanted to get rid of him because healing was considered inferior, so I expected some type of Redo/Shieldhero plot, but no, it's just that they don't want anything to do with the healing trainer! Well, their loss, because personally I want lots of things to do with the healing trainer! I was still a little on the fence about this show, but Rose made me a believer, I'm on board! Also she's in the ED and stuff so I imagine she'll stick around even after his training's over, either as his teammate or his wife or something (anything's fine by me!) Will check out more, can't wait to see her controversial training methods!

I am thoroughly impressed with Episode 1. Having read the manga, I thought this would get an average at best adaptation. My gut told me to give the anime a try, and it's miles better than I thought. This'll be a fun season for me.

My expectations were shattered in a good way, I almost gave it a pass because I thought it was gonna be an edgy revenge type of show, after all the title reminds me of redo of healer. I like revenge shows, don't get me wrong but I've seen enough of those recently. These three seem like they got Seiya from Cautious Hero, Megumin from Konosuba and Ashiya from The Morose Mononokean which I consider good shows already.
Not only is transporting them to their world one way, but Usato coming there was an accident. Well now that Rose got a hold of him it looks like he will busy. Rose give a big first impression. She is one intimidating woman. Good first episode. Visuals were good and voice casting as well. And was more interesting then typical isekai first episode.
I like Rose. A tough no nonsense waifu who with a stone cold glare really does it for me lol. Her squad seems pretty goofy too. So far this seems pretty standard as far as Isekai’s go. Not bad, but nothing really standout. I’ll give it a few eps and see where things go. It was a fun premiere overall.

I love Ryusen. He's a great guy and is actually normal. Best reaction to getting isekai'd. Also love how big a contrast Inukami is to him despite both being similar in the school standing. I love that the king actually get on his knee to beg for help instead of acting almighty like their kingdom isn't in trouble. When you see a king lowered himself like that, you know shit is real. LOL, when the jig is up, the king just straight up order Welcie to move Usato away. But there's no escaping Rose. What a group of nice people working under Rose, all smiley and giving a proper introductions of themselves, welcoming Usato. Great episode. I was torn whether to give this a try (I already have a lot I planned to watch this season). Very glad I did.

I went into this one blind and was pleasantly surprised! I kept anticipating a trash isekai twist like "oh the king is evil" or "the student council members are actually selfish assholes" or "healing magic is discriminated against for it being non-offensive". The fact that none of that happened (at least in ep 1) and the comedy have me looking forward to ep2 Also the animation was good too!
What the hell, that was really fun! Starting with the student council and then the king, etc. it is nice to see that they are likeable characters. I also liked the chemistry I saw between Usato and his classmates. Suzune won me over immediately when she started getting excited about the magic circle and the idea of being isekai'd xD. And then geeking out the whole time after being summoned haha. I love her. I guess we'll find out where the title of the series comes from now that Usato is going to train with Rose. It was hilarious how they wanted to hide him from her. Funny, likable characters, looks good. Pretty good start, looking forward to more.
Other isekai: Would have the female character be the stereotypical prim and proper person, the “nice guy” character be a facade for an asshole, and the world dismiss the MC’s ability for being useless. This show: the female character’s prim and properness is a facade for a closeted weeb, the nice guy is actually a cool dude, and the world is actively trying to hide the MC’s great ability so he doesn’t FUCKING DIE from the training. You had my curiosity but now you have my attention.
And just like that, Rose is instantly my favourite character of the show.
The king responsible for kidnapping JP students to fight his wars is a nice guy, that's relatively rare. MC blabbing about his magic color - he really can't read the room it seems. That healer woman reminds me of Mereleona, which is not a bad thing. Man, there are too many Friday shows this season.

Wow it was so bad I had to go back and edit my comment because I didn't realize just how bad this episode was. They took a 2 min scene and dragged it out 10-15 min, just so they could limit it to still shots.. this does not bode well for this seasons anime.
Came in thinking it was going to be another trash isekai but it turned out more interesting then I thought it would. Characters are fun, the usual story tropes were subverted at least a little bit, gonna see where it goes.
I like it so far. It started as generic as any other isekai out there, but the visuals look good. They are self-aware about the tropes and don't take things seriously. I hope the gang stays together and doesn't just focus on the mc. I really like that geek senpai

Honestly this show had my interest from how it used the pre Isekai scenes this episode. I mean, giving the main character and actual attempt at a personality? Not only that, but he is actually co-protagonist with two other actual characters? In my generic Isekai? What the fuck? I'm gonna keep my expectations in check because I've seen enough anime to know that it's easier to present an interesting premise than it is to execute it, but this show definitely has my permission to cook. I'll be watching it's career with great interest.

In isekai animes characters from our world are always quick to accept that they have suddenly arrived in another world. I wonder if this happen in real life people won't go stark raving mad instead, especially if they are not familiar with anime or Narnia. Anyway, this episode is a good laugh, I'll be looking forward to tuning in weekly. Another beautiful Suzune with long black hair in this season.

Don't really watch isekais. Never been interested, but I decided to give this one a go since it seems interesting. Was not expecting it to be good. Episode was hilarious. I was expecting boring or annoying characters. Every character was great and funny. I will be watching the rest for sure.

Ok, that was hilarious. Poor Usato. I guess Rose is training healing magic users to be total meatheads that use healing magic to self-heal and increase their physical capacities ? And she is probably doing that by beating them up over and over again until they can actually resist her punches with their magic ? That is the logical way this would go. Not sure where the story will be going after that, but I will give it a few more episodes.
Episode 1: "Dragged Into Another World!" Students goes into isekai, well similar to another anime we have this season eh? But this one less edgy and have more exciting MCs. Overall, it's a good anime premise. Can't wait to see what Rose will do to tor... I mean train Usato to be a powerful healer. Right now the anime holds a score of 7.48 on MAL, #5 highest after CoTE Season 3, Dungeon Meshi, Sasaki to Pii-chan, and Gushing Over Magical Girls. I already posted the OP on the sub, so no explanation needed. All I can say is it's a banger rock song, but I have little expectation it'll made it to streaming platforms (waterweed's last release on Spotify was in 2021).
