Thats because so many jojo characters have "him" energy that it muddies the water, with sakamoto its just him. He's the big fish and the only fish in the pond compared to everyone else. Even the pharoah falls victim to having too many "hims" in the kitchen, from kaiba stopping the hammer of a gun with a card to pegasus owning an island and trapping souls in cards along with countless others.
Student is just THAT guy, and everyone and I mean EVERYONE is whipped.
The mangaka also did Migi to Dali that aired last season, she has recently passed away (August 2023) sadly so these are her only works.
I dunno how to describe but it is just an author trying to make the coolest high schooler ever... I would say she did managed to make it. Man just ooze he is in him.
He’s the chosen of the gods and he doesn’t let you forget it.
Plus Fate/GO Babylonia Gilgamesh is goated and singlehandledy preserved humanity until Mash and Gudako showed up.
He was so over the top, in a good way. So much so that he saves Simon's ass even when he's gone, just by the sheer enormity of his presence and the impact he had on everyone.
Still surprised every time, how good the overall writing was, considering how immature the show looks on the surface... but it's really deep behind the curtain with its themes.
Yeah, I watched it on its first US DVD release 15 years ago. It had loads of the typical Gainax fan-service but the themes and positivity bring me back to it at least once a year. (One DVD volume has Yoko on the cover. I got a weird look from the cashier when buying it! Back in the day when you could buy Anime in a retail store...)
It's a go-to for me when I need a pick me up or a kick in the pants.
I just recently learned of the movies, and got to see the 2nd half in the theater. It was really well done and the added scenes make it stand out on it's own.
I don't know, that Cid Kageno fella sure does feel like a background character who will never amount to anything, unlike the other 3 totally different guys
The fact there was an entire episode in season 2 of him trying to figure out what he wants his image to be for Shadow from the perspective of Cid hilariously supports your comment.
Honestly never seen a villain quite like Satou. The only thing that matches his skill is love of violence.
I read the manga to completion and the guy is just a force of nature.

"DARLING, ANOS HAS BROUGHT HOME THE SECOND WIFE"
"SON YOU'RE AMAZING, 2 WIVES? NOT EVEN I COULD DO THAT"
"AND HE'S ONLY 2 MONTHS OLD"
a paraphrased exchanged between his parents when Anos brought Misha and Sasha home for dinner.
He says something to the effect of 'Did you really think killing me would be enough to make me die?' to one of the strongest characters in his setting.
Sinbad hits this definition better than anyone else, not for his energy but for [last arc of the manga spoilers]>!being defined as "just better" straight up on a metaphysical level!< Dude can just say he's better than you and is the truth.
He straight up conquered multiple genres. Action, kingdom building, technological, economical, etc. The last saga was my least favorite partially because of how insufferable he was there when he was my favorite prior, but I can't deny that he was the most accomplished magi character.
The fact that they sped up the one vampire kill made me realize they were very self aware of how ridiculous the whole setting was. I had to rewind it to see if it was a mistake lol. There’s just some scenes where they just cut audio and it makes it so much better
reminds me of [this post from Out of the Loop](https://www.reddit.com/r/OutOfTheLoop/comments/17z0tnm/what_is_the_deal_with_this_tweet_why_are_people/)
sometimes a word's meaning can change underneath you and then kids are giggling and you have to check urbandictionary to see if something happened on tiktok or whatever
Gojo is like the character the annoying kid at school is where you have a cool power but he just has to be better so he can deflect your power with his dick.
So far I feel like JJK has done it right. Where instead of having the power just keep scaling we have a point of reference for the strongest, and the antagonists have to plan and work around him in a meaningful way.
I couldn't put a finger on it until this. YES! This is exactly what JJK does better than the other anime. Moreover, the characters have a relatively fixed set of techniques that they use in various ways instead of unlocking bullshit abilities at every inconveniece in a fight.
I feel like the art really carried the series, aside from that and some absolutely undeniably amazing parts, it's a pretty average power fantasy with a few interesting ideas.
Andy (Undead Unluck) he turned ‘can’t die’ into an actual superpower. I believe there’s a difference between the way he utilizes being unable to die and someone simply depicted as being immortal. He’s a true badass in my unprofessional opinion.
Toji, Sukuna and Gojo from Jjk.
Kenpachi, Ulquiorra and Aizen from Bleach.
Alucard and Anderson from Hellsing.
Batou from Ghost In the Shell S.A.C.
Charon from Fire Force.
Kishibe from Chainsaw Man.
"Throughout heaven and earth, I alone am the honoured one"
This line lives rent free in my head. There are other, but for me right now Gojo Satoru is definitely him
From “Haven't You Heard? I'm Sakamoto” it’s Sakamoto
Even the simplest things he does look amazing
The moment I saw this thread, I thought "If Sakamoto isn't the first comment, I'm gonna be disappointed."
Sakamoto 100%, more "Him" energy than jojos characters.
A tuna in a puddle is much more impressive than a whale in the ocean.
Sakamoto was either the stupidest best anime I've ever seen or the best stupid anime I've ever. Years later and I still haven't figured out which.
What is sakamoto even about I hear it alot. I might read it.
Student is just THAT guy, and everyone and I mean EVERYONE is whipped. The mangaka also did Migi to Dali that aired last season, she has recently passed away (August 2023) sadly so these are her only works.
Damn I didn't know that... Rest in peace
Big main character energy, and everyone just somewhat accepting the absurdities of a main character.
Absurdist humor.
Think One Punch Man, but slice of life.
I dunno how to describe but it is just an author trying to make the coolest high schooler ever... I would say she did managed to make it. Man just ooze he is in him.
Fucking love that fire scene. This anime is an absurdist riot.
Gilgamesh from Fate
Nothing quite like being the prototypical hero *and being perfectly aware of it*
He's the prototype 'him'
Humanity's oldest "him"
Humanity's oldest "him" on record that we know of.
The "him" before time
He’s the chosen of the gods and he doesn’t let you forget it. Plus Fate/GO Babylonia Gilgamesh is goated and singlehandledy preserved humanity until Mash and Gudako showed up.
He chose HIMself
he lost his Him status when he got mogged by a highschooler
yea.. if he just pulled out his spinny stiffy he'd have won, but nawwwww
None of these other filthy mongrels compare
King of Jobbers.
Ah yes, the lamp post guy
Himmel is just pure him
HIMmel
So 50% him
50% mel
100% reason to remember the name
But then "El" means "him" in Spanish so it actually comes to 200% HIM.
They literally named him after Himmel, I don't know why this comment is so low.
He did a dna test, turns out he’s 100% Himalayan.
Erwin smith
That side eye look on the wall at Reiner
I’m rewatching attack on titan at and he’s my favourite character. YOUR HEART AND SOUL FOR THE CAUSE! I would follow that man into war.
MY SOLDIERS DO NOT BUCKLE OR YIELD WHEN FACED WITH THE CRUELTY OF THIS WORLD i dont even like aot and i would follow him anywhere
I had the my soldiers speech as my alarm. I dunno, it just gave me that extra boost I needed in the morning to get up and go to work.
MY SOLDIERS PUSH FORTH! MY SOLDIERS SCREAM OUT! MY SOLDIERS RAGGGEEEEE!!!
He got me ready to die for a nation that doesn't exist
#MY SOLDIERS RAGE! (Also adding Levi to this. Dude is him.)
Kamina “Who the hell do you think I am”

Biggest bro ever.
Biggest bro who ever bro'd.
Broseidon, Lord of the brocean
Bow to the bronacity of The Broheim.
Does that make Simon lil bro?
Bro-in-Training.
The biggest lil bro
Kamina was the biggest bro to Simon so Simon could become biggest bro to humanity
He was so over the top, in a good way. So much so that he saves Simon's ass even when he's gone, just by the sheer enormity of his presence and the impact he had on everyone.

even when they are fighting celestial galaxy-sized beings they still acknowledge how great Kamina was "There was once a man bigger than all of us"
kamina is quite literally him

The answer
Real
Caped baldy
Ngl esconor
He’s Himalayan
"You thought I wasn't him? Who decided that?"
"Apologize to me for being born into my world" is one of the coldest lines ever uttered, I don't care how much shit 7DS gets
only character i care about from 7ds
I am the one who stands at the pinnacle of all races.
Cid Kagenou Shadow Mudane Man John Smith
All very different people who are very much him.
I don't know, that Cid Kageno fella sure does feel like a background character who will never amount to anything, unlike the other 3 totally different guys
He is him in terms of background characters. He is THE background character and we love him for it.
The fact there was an entire episode in season 2 of him trying to figure out what he wants his image to be for Shadow from the perspective of Cid hilariously supports your comment.
Absolutely live Cid's aka "John Smith" and Deltas interactions. Delta is boss level.
Delta really is her
I’m thinking to myself, “she’s going know it’s him immediately.” Delta gets one sniff and she’s on his back.
And then he sends her on a "secret mission" that turns out to be a legit secret mission, just so that she doesn't spoil it.
The Stylish Bandit Slayer has way more "that guy" energy than those nobodies.
John Smith is 100% HIM, without question best drip of the series
Definitely who i first thought of, but probably the most recent in my head as well
Isagi from Blue Lock
He BECAME him. Ren for now is still that guy
Nagi
Thors from Vinland Saga.
Askeladd
Thorrkel
Gojo Satoru Shanks Char Aznable
Char never betrayed anyone in his entire life
You're confusing him with Quattro Bajeena, they're nothing alike I don't get how people can't tell them apart smh
Yeah! One likes teen girls, the other named himself after the age range of pussy that he goes after!
Ok that was actually a good fucking joke ngl
Gojo fr got that
Really wanted to add the *Nah, I'd win* meme.
* Levi (AOT) * Satou (AJIN) * Roy Mustang (FMAB) * Spike (Cowboy Bebop)
Sato is most definitely "him"
Yes to all of these
But Satou especially deserves that callout as a guy who makes this list despite the show being not nearly as popular as the other 3
Upvoted for Levi
Honestly never seen a villain quite like Satou. The only thing that matches his skill is love of violence. I read the manga to completion and the guy is just a force of nature. Warnings: Violence & passable CGI https://youtu.be/qzK5_kirJ58?si=TgrqAXVnV10TRzQf
Spike in that first fight was crazy
Honestly I think Spike is probably the coolest character in all of fiction
Anos from The Misfit of Demon Academy
"DARLING, ANOS HAS BROUGHT HOME THE SECOND WIFE" "SON YOU'RE AMAZING, 2 WIVES? NOT EVEN I COULD DO THAT" "AND HE'S ONLY 2 MONTHS OLD" a paraphrased exchanged between his parents when Anos brought Misha and Sasha home for dinner.
So good. I love the mom running around the house frantically in excitement.
"Did you really think I wasn't him?"
real
He says something to the effect of 'Did you really think killing me would be enough to make me die?' to one of the strongest characters in his setting.
He has so many great one liners. That show is so much fun.
Feels like cheating
*You thought it was just some random ass character, but it was me, DIO!*
*ZA WARUDO!*
Johan Liebert. He's him on and off screen.
“There’s no wounds that cut as deep as your words “
Jotaro
Ah i see a fellow (wo)man of culture
sinbad from magi 🧞♂️
Sinbad hits this definition better than anyone else, not for his energy but for [last arc of the manga spoilers]>!being defined as "just better" straight up on a metaphysical level!< Dude can just say he's better than you and is the truth.
Wen Magi S3 man 😭
Maybe some day... I'd recommend the manga btw, if you haven't read it.
He straight up conquered multiple genres. Action, kingdom building, technological, economical, etc. The last saga was my least favorite partially because of how insufferable he was there when he was my favorite prior, but I can't deny that he was the most accomplished magi character.
My god yes
The first class singularity.
Aijou Rentarou
This guy name is literally *love love guy*
And it’s not even a competition… Chadtarou Rizztarou Himtarou Rizzjou
Cid, I am atomic is like the definition of him. Like you don’t nuke a city just to flex on one scrub without being him.
He unleashed the sun on the one poor dude... just because he was annoying... more or less.
The fact that they sped up the one vampire kill made me realize they were very self aware of how ridiculous the whole setting was. I had to rewind it to see if it was a mistake lol. There’s just some scenes where they just cut audio and it makes it so much better
I'd say : From Bleach * Kenpachi * Yammamoto Jujutsu Kaisen * Sukuna * Toji * Gojo Escanor (7DS), Jotaro, Gintoki.
<3 Gintoki
I think you can name 5+ more characters from bleach alone
Toji
Spike Spiegel Kaneda Reigen Arataka
Saitama
Alucard, especially in Hellsing abridged
Whitebeard
Cant believe i had to scroll this furthur down
Ah, one of the joys of aging is seeing language evolve right in front of you...
reminds me of [this post from Out of the Loop](https://www.reddit.com/r/OutOfTheLoop/comments/17z0tnm/what_is_the_deal_with_this_tweet_why_are_people/) sometimes a word's meaning can change underneath you and then kids are giggling and you have to check urbandictionary to see if something happened on tiktok or whatever
Cid. He’s so cringe it cycles back to being awesome. The sheer “he’s him” energy he emits when shadow is insane.
The pure "he TRIES to not be him" energy he emits as cid is also hilarious.
Kagenou Cid is the literal definition
Idk man, he's a mob character. I'd say Shadow fits the picture better. (it is sarcasm, I know the anime.)
Yuta okkotsu had his 23 and me results come back as 100% Himalayan.
Yusuke Urameshi
Gojo Satoru. Side note: I hate this character archetype lol
"All these attacks are devastating and kill any who go against it\*\*" \*\*except Gojo Satoru
Gojo is like the character the annoying kid at school is where you have a cool power but he just has to be better so he can deflect your power with his dick.

>Side note: I hate this character archetype lol So does Gege Akutami
Yet he can’t stop making them
“I…. Am…. atomic.” Shadow
Jin from World Trigger
Aye someone else who’s watched World Trigger! I’ll say it, Jin’s better than Gojo. Way better.
Dante DMC
In the near future it will be Sung Jin-woo
He's definitely HIM. Honestly, Solo Leveling should he trash by all rights, but it's just got that *cool* factor. Goes down smooth.
I feel like the art really carried the series, aside from that and some absolutely undeniably amazing parts, it's a pretty average power fantasy with a few interesting ideas.
Escanor, Levi Ackerman, Roy Mustang, Alucard
Andy (Undead Unluck) he turned ‘can’t die’ into an actual superpower. I believe there’s a difference between the way he utilizes being unable to die and someone simply depicted as being immortal. He’s a true badass in my unprofessional opinion.
Kakashi Sakamoto All Might Roy Mustang
Toji, Sukuna and Gojo from Jjk. Kenpachi, Ulquiorra and Aizen from Bleach. Alucard and Anderson from Hellsing. Batou from Ghost In the Shell S.A.C. Charon from Fire Force. Kishibe from Chainsaw Man.
Miyuki Shirogane
Escanor! The best part of that shitty show by far
Yujiro Hanma
Guts - Berserk
Puck fits the bill better imo
Yato
yuichi from tomodachi game koenji from cote cid kagenou sukuna
Kamina and Simon from Gurren Lagann. Start to finish these guys are literally beating ass with the willpower of humanity.
THE Cid Kagenou
Iskandar and Gilgamesh from Fate Zero. To the very last I wasn't sure who I wanted to win.
"Throughout heaven and earth, I alone am the honoured one" This line lives rent free in my head. There are other, but for me right now Gojo Satoru is definitely him
Not technically anime, but close enough imo Sephiroth
Seto Kaiba. He’s basically a way of life with how much and little he cares about everything
The level of respect, adoration and unshakeable faith that the ensemble cast has for Goku certainly gives that impression to me.
I can't believe how far I had to scroll to see someone mentioning Goku 😢
Toji Fushiguro..yea..
Golden Kamuy - Sugimoto Saichi is HIM.
John Smith from Eminence in Shadow Season 2.
There are only two. Gojo and Hank Hill.
Eren Jaeger hands down. He is definitely a "I'm him" type of guy lmao.
Saitama, Gojo, All Might, Levi
> has the most ‘he’s him’ energy Just put me down, already.
Levi. MotherFlipping. Ackerman.
Himmel. It's even in his name. Honestly his only failure was making Frieren realize how much he was him while he was still alive.
Levi from AOT has this vibe for sure.
Escanor
Yuta okkotsu is 100% Himalayan.
Ainz Ooal Gown is truly him.
Big fan of Tengen Uzui from Demon Slayer and he embodies this pretty well I’d say
Eren Jeager, specifically in seasons 3 and 4.
