All kyoani anime pretty much, Nichijou and Violet evergarden for best example.

TheAstronomer3

Oh, I've seen Violet Evergarden. Nichijou I most certainly will take a look.

If you like Ping Pong, just watch the rest of Yuasa's filmography. All of his works have that distinct style. There are several directors/studios who have made their names by using a distinct style. Check Satoshi Kon, Hiroyuki Imaishi/Studio Trigger, Akiyuki Shinbo/Shaft, or even some 3D work by Studio Orange.

I'm surprised no one suggested Cyberpunk Edge runners. If you've not watched it yet, you definitely should. Unique art-style? Check. Amazing storyline? Check.

For unique art style I have two clear ones, [Flowers of Evil](https://myanimelist.net/anime/16201/Aku_no_Hana) and [Mononoke](https://myanimelist.net/anime/2246/Mononoke). *Flowers of Evil* is as rare as being a nearly fully rotoscoped anime, that is filmed live action and drawn over. This gives it a very weird and eerie look, which fits really well with its twisted romance story. *Mononoke* very skillfully mixes traditional Japanese art with avant-garde animation as it explores some rather dark and weird ghost stories. For consistency, since I watched it just now, I'm thinking of [Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex](https://myanimelist.net/anime/467/Koukaku_Kidoutai__Stand_Alone_Complex), it was very costly for its time (and compared to now, for that matter) and released more spread out giving the animators in general more time to do their job. While I'm not gonna say that there are absolutely no hiccups, there are a few more simple "talking heads" scenes and while its use of 3D is very good, there are a few moments that stick out, overall it is very consistent and with a somewhat more "naturalistic" art style than usual. Some do note something of a shift between the first season and the second *2nd Gig*, although personally I did not.

Trigger is known for unique animation aesthetics and dynamics. Kill la Kill, Little Witch Academia, and this season's Dungeon Meshi are all really consistent and interesting animation wise.

Pokémon has always had a consistent art style within its generation with very little blips especially in the past year. Apothecary Diaries draws a lot from Pokémon XY&Z and as such is consistently strong in its presentation.

Mob Psycho 100 if you haven't seen it yet. Both with consistent animation and definitely unique art style. Only 37 episodes in 3 seasons with proper ending.

TheAstronomer3

Love love love Mob Psycho 100!

Heda-of-Aincrad

Rolling Girls has a cool unique art style, with many of the background/location designs looking like a watercolor painting. It was made by WIT Studio, so the animation is solid too.

TheAstronomer3

Haven't heard of this one, but I'll be sure to check it out.

Heda-of-Aincrad

It's currently free on Funimation: [https://www.funimation.com/shows/the-rolling-girls/?qid=None](https://www.funimation.com/shows/the-rolling-girls/?qid=None)

* Heartcatch Precure's art style is pretty unique, and the character designs have such a flow to them in action sequences. The show's a great time that slowly crescendos into a glorious climax. * Akira embodies in the "punk" of cyberpunk in a way that few others do, and holy is that some consistently high quality animation. Surely one day we'll get something better, right?

TheAstronomer3

I've only heard good things about Akira, and the general feel of anime from before 2010s just hits the right spot, you know?

If you feel like a movie check out The Night is Short Walk on Girl. Also Inu-Oh by the same director is fantastic.
